Considering this place is literally right next to a gas station, I was blown away by the quality of sushi. I think it's a little more expensive than it should be for gas station adjacent sushi but it's really good food. Service was pretty good and they had a lot of Yelp deals that I loved. We found this place through Yelp as a matter of fact and thought it might be booked up for Valentine's Day. We walked in and were able to get seated within 5 minutes. The place is small but cute and has character. It seemed pretty busy considering it was dinner time. We ordered the lemon roll, Hollywood roll, and the special roll for Valentine's Day (which we got for free.) The food was great. I prefer the lemon roll over the Hollywood and heart roll but all were good. Oddly enough, I sometimes use the taste of the ginger as an indicator of how good the place is going to be. It was pretty good overall so my ginger rating system is accurate so far. They were playing great music. I would definitely come back! read more

Quick, Easy and Convenient. On a Thursday, my boyfriend and I were meeting halfway so we stopped by here and decided to have lunch. No reservations and the waiter (who was soft spoken and very kind) sat us right away and brought waters. Plenty of outdoor patio and indoor seating. The ambiance is really nice, this could be a great place for coworker to casually come to eat and drink. We looked at a menu with a QR code on our phone and ordered rather quickly as we were in a hurry. The food came out so fast and my tempura was hot and crunchy. The rolls were good as well. Responding to a public review and not reaching out to me personally to extend any sort of apology or resolution really goes to show that you're just trying to say face and don't care about the outcome of the situation The manager replied to my last review saying they did they're best to resolve the situation. The whole point of me writing a 5000 word review was to express the fact that THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. The guy helping me was obviously trying to waste my time and was very unreceptive to my complaints about the food. Yelp doesn't let us reply to business owners, seemingly letting them get the last word in and seem almost pedantic in their excuses; like were supposed to look past this incident, ignore, and again pretend like its the customers fault. The fact that the owner gets into the timeline with their response, just goes to show that they're being very defensive. This place took my money served me literal garbage then tried to pull my leg and make me wait 30 minutes for three rolls (which by the way the sushi chef had let me know he was already making) Also just so everyone gets a picture of how "busy" this restaurant was there were just three other tables maximum when I arrived, one of which left as I arrived and the other HADNT EVEN ORDERED. Covid Review. Open during Covid with outside dinning or take out. Location: Tokyo Cube is located in a small plaza with very limited parking right next to a gas station. This place is kinda tucked in the corner and can easily be missed if not paying attention. Ambiance: Soooooooo Cute! Ha! They did such a great job setting up shop outdoors. They inclosed a small portion of the parking lot and glammed it up with tables/chairs, picnic tables, and string lights (lights just set the mood). As you walk up to the place they have a table with hand sanitizer available and contactless menus. The menus are very up to date with other restaurants where you scan the barcode with your camera and the menu pops up on top. Food/Drinks: PERFECT! I can't say enough how delicious everything was and how fresh the rolls were as well. I ordered a few different rolls and of course a couple round of beers. Service: The service provided was amazing, the staff was very limited but totally understandable due to everything going on but they were very nice and they were working to serve the guest dinning. Our server was so cool, he kept checking on us to make sure we were good and also engaged in fun small talk. Awesome job guys! Pro-tip: Check in on Yelp if you're going to dine in for 1 small bottle of free sake :) Had a lovely hike at Runyon Canyon and was feeling peckish afterwards so what do I do? Eat the calories back of course. There's never a bad time for some sushi, so that's what we decided on. Tokyo Cube is super close to the trailhead, approx. 5 minutes away. The parking situation is a little hard (2 spots in front, ~10 spots on sides) and it might be really easy to pass on the road because it's in the corner of a gas station. I had my doubts about the restaurant because sushi is one of my favorite foods and it can be a hit or miss depending on the restaurant. There's a cute outdoor area that allows dogs! We sat down at the tables and ordered the green baked mussels, lemon roll, and All in roll. The green baked mussels were a 10/10. They were beautifully decorated and are THE definition of umami. The sliced lemons also gave it a really fresh taste and I appreciated how the mussels were cut so it is easier to eat off the shell. The lemon roll was also pretty good: 8/10. I know adding lemon isn't the most authentic, but I really liked how tangy it was and each bite was really refreshing. My least favorite was the All in roll: 5/10. It just had too much going on because of how many types of fish was in it. Don't really recommend it if there's something else that fits your palate more. Pretty good experience and service. I thought it was a little expensive, but that's kind of what I expected in that area. The baked mussels were amazing, but I felt like I could've gotten better sushi elsewhere because I prefer sashimi/nigiri more than special fusion rolls. read more

We went with the Barham, Hot Nights and Lemon Rolls. We also got the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. The Hot Night Roll was our favorite! Whatever they use to make their Tempura is out of this world and super tasty! My boyfriend said it almost reminded him of movie theater popcorn. The Crispy Rice was a solid second place, really flavorful tuna. Portions are big and the food was packaged immaculately. One roll had a slightly fishy taste, but nothing major. I can't express how good this roll was and how much I recommend you order it. The nigiri was also very fresh and flavorful. Our favorites were the salmon belly, yellowtail belly, and jumbo scallops. I come in for a quick lunch break to Tokyo Cube and it was relatively busy, but still spacious enough to get a seat. My service was super fast and friendly and the space was very comfortable and clean. I ordered the shishito peppers, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful, but if you don't like spicy, I recommend staying away since sometimes you get a good bit of heat depending on the pepper. I also ordered the salmon sashimi in cilantro sauce. The salmon was delicious and wonderfully prepared. My only complaint would be the sauce being too sweet (probably the strong citrus) and that there was too much of it. I wished the menu was a bit more clear that the sauce would be sweet, but I just know for next time. This restaurant was a little more on the pricy side (it was around $35 for the app, sashimi, and a can of Diet Coke) but you're definitely paying for fresh and quality food! read more
