We took a break and drove over, followed the signs for the parking since it's in the back. You have to go down an alley. This place is very small but really really good. My kids had pad Thai, I had garlic fish, my husband had drunken noodles and my sil had green curry that was sooooook good she ate it all (there was a lot of curry and usually she doesn't finish). Great Thai iced tea. My kids really loved it, that's usually a good sign. They have had their fair share of pad thai and have become pad thai snobs. The bathroom is very kitsch and is covered in stickers. For the overstimulated it might be much, my spectrum kiddo needed to go but he just couldn't look at all the stickers. Just be aware. It was clean just visually stimulating. I would definitely come back here anytime I go to Universal. I always like supporting local and truly it's a gem. The kind of dish where you keep saying "one more bite" and suddenly you're scraping the container wondering where it all went. Major bonus points for the generous chunks of eggplant. As an eggplant enthusiast, I felt seen. Was I secretly hoping for Thai eggplant? Yes. Did that stop me from inhaling the entire curry like it owed me money? Absolutely not. Let me start with how confusing it was to find it! There's a bunch of different buildings and this little green tiny house that was once "Nongs Thai Kitchen" originally. You might also have a hard time finding parking but, it's additional spots available behind the building. The colors and the outside design was pretty attractive. I really wanted to sit outside unfortunately I was told that it wasn't available due to a "Poop" problem. ( Wish I didn't hear that before my meal) We should've walked away but, decided to stay and give them a chance. Our food was mediocre. Nothing special about it. It wasn't the worst but, it wasn't at one's best either. My fork and silverware had food residue on them so I had given them back and asked for plastic instead. Overall, I loved the art. On our way out in the back door an elder lady came up from the restaurant and started to yell at us, said our son(9) pee'd on the toilet seat. My wife was in there with him, maybe a bit splattered on floor it wasn't anything. I offered to clean it up, she said it's ok and kept repeating "you should teach your son how to pee". It's a bright blue with large neon lighting for the name. What you might miss is the parking though. If you're going down Ventura Blvd towards Hollywood, you will make a right on the street just before you hit the restaurant and there are only about 4 spaces in the back. Fair prices too. This Thai restaurant is so cute and quant. Five tables inside and a row of tables outside. Host / waitress was really nice. Ordered nongs house wings and steamed dumplings for appetizers. The chicken was so crispy and seasoned perfectly. The dumplings were perfect and even better with sauce. We ordered beef pad see ew, chicken pad Thai for main course. Both were so delicious! I drive by this spot almost every day on my way to work and I recently noticed it had changed from a veggie restaurant to a Thai place. Since Thai food is one of my absolute favorites, I was immediately intrigued and knew I had to try it soon. I finally got the chance to try it today while visiting my father, whose office is just a few blocks away. He had actually received a flyer about their opening and suggested we grab lunch before I headed to school. Perfect timing! The moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile by the owner, who immediately offered us Thai Iced Tea and who can ever say no to that. It was such a welcoming touch and set the tone for the entire meal. The restaurant itself is small but charming. Inside there are about 4-5 tables and outside seating for about the same. The decor is colorful, bright, and cheerful; it makes the space feel lively without being overwhelming. We decided on the lunch specials, which are offered Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm. Each comes with fried rice (unless noted), an egg roll, and a salad. It is a great deal, especially for the quality. I went with the Pad See Ew and my father ordered the Pad Thai. Both dishes were excellent and full of flavor. The Pad See Ew had that perfect balance of savory sweetness, while the Pad Thai was light, tangy, and generously portioned. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Everything felt homemade and thoughtfully prepared. What stood out the most to me was the value. Compared to other Thai spots nearby, this place offers better quality and portions for the price. It's rare to find a local gem where you leave full. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back! I had been wanting to try Nong's Thai Kitchen for a while since I love good Thai food, and I finally convinced my friend to come with me even though they were already skeptical because of the limited parking and the random location. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be a major disappointment. I ordered the Thai Basil dish and clearly requested no basil, as it sometimes makes me sick. I made a point to emphasize this, and the waitress even repeated the order back to me correctly. Despite that, the dish came out completely covered in basil. Already very hungry, I was frustrated when the waitress casually said she knew I asked for no basil but that it was made that way anyway and then just walked away. No apology, no effort to fix it, nothing. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. Honestly, it seemed like she was more focused on checking herself in the mirror and putting on lip gloss than paying attention to customers. I ended up bringing the food back myself and asking for something else. Meanwhile, my friend who didn't even want to eat there initially ended up paying, partly because they felt bad about the situation and had already finished eating while I was still dealing with the issue. I genuinely love supporting small businesses and want them to succeed, but this was not just a letdown it was an overall unpleasant experience made worse by rude service. The waitress never came back to check on us, and there was zero effort to make things right. I won't be returning. There are plenty of great Thai restaurants in the area that at least meet basic service standards, so I'd recommend trying one of those instead. read more

Very cute little restaurant, great service. I only got a couple of things today, bowl of tom Kha soup with white rice and a side salad. It came out to $27. The salad was fresh and the peanut dressing was tasty, the soup was delicious, however the mushrooms in the soup were disappointing because it was basically the whole button mushroom(whole mouthful sized). Absolutely loved every bite of it. This was previously The Veggie House, a vegan restaurant. According to one of the staff members, the stir-frys and curries still maintain the same vegan recipes.
