Adorable little spot a little bit past Downtown Fullerton. There weren't a lot of people dining on a Sunday Night. Parking is a bit limited as well. We got the Real Crab Spicy Mayo Roll, Tonkostu Ramen & Takoyaki. Everything was delicious! The chashu in the tonkostu ramen was legit melt in your mouth. It was extremely fatty so if you don't like a lot of fat, you may not enjoy it. Takoyaki was crispy on the outside, soft in the inside, and very flavorful. They also gave us a 10% discount! Came back from my Japan trip last month and was craving something reminiscent of Tokyo. Was also near the area for Disneyland so stopped by for dinner and was my best decision of the week!! Perfect ambiance for a chill dinner and the food was, how do you say in Japanese... SUGOII!! We recently enjoyed a delicious meal at Tokyo eats, a cozy izakaya near downtown Fullerton. The atmosphere was lively yet casual. A real hidden gem! I tried a variety of dishes like the Tokyo pasta with its tangy creamy sauce, crispy chicken karage with a zesty dipping sauce, piping hot takoyaki stuffed with octopus, and a crab hand roll (real crab! Not crab with a K)! The star of the meal was the Tokyo pasta a comforting, savory broth loaded with plump shrimp, clams and muscles. Between the flavorful food and ambient vibe, this izakaya made for a wonderful night out. I'll definitely be back to try more of their traditional Japanese fare and beers. Cute little spot with drawn in menus. Americanized sushi spot. Boys are friendly. The place reeks of bamboo or bad bathroom. I don't know what's worse? Food is mediocre/ok. This is a hangout spot. Food: Okonomiyaki, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Toro hand roll, Spicy Tuna hand roll. Saw that they had Okonomiyaki on the menu and I knew I had to make it a priority to stop by sometime. That time came, and the Okonomiyaki tasted better than I had expected. This was my first time ever trying it. The best way I can describe it is: a umami bomb or different textures that is kind of like a casserole. The udon was good, nothing crazy special but it did come with about 5 pieces of shrimp tempura. The hand rolls were presented very nicely, and even came with some caviar on top. They were nothing to rave about, but solid all the way around. Restaurant: If you have been in the area before you know that the townhomes towering over the restaurant were not always there. It is nice to see this building still hanging around, even though the area is around it is being built up. Inside there is a ton of tables, both inside the restaurant in the outdoor patio area. Parking can be a little tight, but there is street parking nearby. Service was good, but we were the only ones in there so there was not much that was needed to be done. Notes: The offer discounts for all kinds of professions from military and law enforcement, to education and who knows what else. read more

I really like the food at this place. They give large portions for normal restaurant food price. I could barely finish my meal! They taste was good, and the servers are always nice and friendly. The decorations change every now and then, but it gives off the typical "modern asian restaurant" type of vibe. I will say, double check the location because sometimes it switches with another restaurant. It was a temporary decision to see how both restaurants did with a change of location. read more

Ages ago, during Titan-con, the anime/nerd convention run by the college, my friends and I decided to grab some ramen here. I could barely fit in the car since I couldn't take the Oda Nobunaga hat off of my head without taking off the wig, so that was a very hilarious memory. I got their Aka Ramen which is made from kara (spicy) miso. Comes with 2 pieces of chashu and a seasoned soft boiled egg. I'm not a fan of beansprouts, so I made sure to donate this to a friend. Nice rich miso broth, and like many Japanese restaurant places (that don't have the ability to super build and customize), it has a slight heat, but not super spicy in the slightest. Noodles are thin style and had a nice texture to it that went well with the broth. Overall, not bad.
