Good food. Have only tried the sushi here. Quick and friendly service. Ambiance is low key.

Lunch special is very good value. You have to come and try it. It goes well with hot green tea or sake.

The sushi here is standard and reasonable prices. And will most likely have your basic seafood necessities. I got a quick bite here, ordered online and got the food quickly. I ordered some nigiri as well as sashimi, mushroom soup, and crab salad. Nothing extraordinary but I enjoyed the crab salad. They have a good amount of parking at this establishment so I doubt anyone would have any trouble.

Sweet potato sushi and peanut avocado sushi

I started liking Sushi very recently and was looking for a place with vegan options. I came here because of the decent reviews. I tried the peanut avocado sushi, sweet potato sushi and veg tempura. My husband had some chicken sushis. Overall they tasted fine. I have come here twice for take out options later and both the times I felt their service is not up to the mark. There is no one to make any conversation with. On top of that they may have 15-20 minutes wait time. So one has to wait long without having a clue about if the order is ready.

Absolutely delicious Spider Roll (soft shell crab)...

Its been a long time since the Queen & I been at one of my favorite places in North Haven. Fortunately, we came back to celebrate my birthday, and was I was not disappointed. As usual, awesome service and delicious food. We had our favorite...spider Roll (soft shell crab). Great food, great staff and a great day!!!!

I usually get sushi when I order from here but have had their pad Thai which I think was ok, not the best I have had but def not the worst. It is a family business and the teenager daughter is usually helping out, very friendly. I like that their sushi rolls don't have a lot of rice on them, but plenty of filling! I usually get the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls, fish always tastes very fresh. I haven't sat in yet, just ordered take out. To me, they have better sushi than some of the other places in town and I haven't gotten sick there.

I'm literally obsessed with this place. Chaos roll and elf roll are delish! The clam soup is nice surprise. Sashimi is always fatty in the best way. Best sushi in the area.

OUTSTANDING SUSHI with massive portions. Don't sleep on their fried rice (as cliched as that sounds) they make it soooooo good.

After much debating and research, we decided it was finally time to try Hachiroku in New Haven. We already love going to The Loop, let's sit down and eat. Heard lots of positive buzz from fellow Yelpers and foodies, including a previous 2024 New Haven Best Restaurant of the Year at the CRAZIES. All of the accolades and positive reviews are well earned. Cozy and delicious. That's what I'd describe about Hachiroku. The ambiance is cozy regardless if you're sitting at the bar or in the upstairs seating. The food we ordered also had the same vibe. The menu rotates with the seasons and the freshest ingredients which we greatly appreciated and it shows in the tastes. Our seasonal selections that we ordered included Hokkaido scallop and octopus carpaccio with ikura and seaweed and monkfish karaage. The carpaccio had the perfect components to complement each other. The monkfish karaage fully came together between the lemon and the side of pickled radish as well. We also ordered house made fresh tofu and added uni. The staff mentioned "oh it's perfect, it's uni season" which made my day. It was so delicious and my husband who normally doesn't like uni even noticed how fresh it was. We really went wild ordering everything, including the mini Harasu don (teishoku which comes with rice, pickles, and we picked the salad), Black Cod grilled with Yuzu sauce, Yaki Kinoko Mushrooms, and the Kakuni Short Rib (which pairs very well with a side of rice). The most cozy and perfect dish for winter was the seasonal vegetable agedashi. Warm and had a nice variety of vegetables with a vegetable dashi broth that healed the soul. We enjoyed every dish and we noticed already when looking at the menu again there's already so many new items to try. Excellent service and suggestions from the staff (because if we didn't have them, we could've ordered the whole menu in one night). Can't wait to come back and rave about Hachiroku (and its sister stores/restaurants) to everyone!

A small, cozy restaurant that is decorated to full anime vibes: anime art covering the walls from floor to ceiling for favorites like One Piece, Dragon Ball, and many more (how many can you name), dividers, lanterns, cherry blossoms - it's a total vibe! The menu is small, but has a variety from entrees, sushi, noodles, and shareable appetizers. There were specials as well that we took advantage of and ended up with a lot of food. My husband and I shared the Yukitori Platter, something that I haven't seen before on a menu. It's a Japanese street food that has skewered meat. Our platter had chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, and zucchini and each were very good. My husband got the Gyu Don (which is a beef bowl) and for $5 more, he got the set that included three side dishes and a miso soup. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Udon and made it a Combo for $5 more which included a classic Brown Sugar Bubble Tea and a Pork Bun. I loved my Udon, was flavorful and not too salty. The bubble tea was perfect, even the tapioca pearls weren't too hard or gummy. The service was good, but it was a slow start since there was only one staff member hosting and serving the dining room. It was a little busy with a couple of other tables. The staff were very kind and respectful. The food came out fast after we ordered. Akatsuki is really a hidden gem and it's a must try. My husband and I look forward to returning soon.

I have to say, this is probably my favorite all-you-can-eat spot because they just do everything…read moreright. First, the prices are honestly kind of crazy for what you get. Lunch is $22.99 ALL WEEK, not just weekdays, and dinner is $32.99. They also have an all-you-can-eat Cajun seafood boil add-on. If you want snow crab legs, it's only another $10 with dinner. If you don't need the snow crab legs, it's only an additional $5 with lunch. Honestly, where are you getting a better deal for all-you-can-eat Thai, Japanese, Chinese, dim sum AND sushi?! I also love the tablet ordering system. There are pictures and descriptions for almost everything, so it's really easy to order. Everything is freshly made to order and they bring the food out as it's ready instead of waiting for your entire order to be finished. So things are constantly showing up hot and fresh. I've tried pretty much everything at this point Portions definitely vary. Some things are smaller, while the Chinese entrées are probably some of the biggest portions. The sesame chicken is SO GOOD. Super crispy, savory and flavorful on the outside but still juicy inside. The sushi is great too, although once you've completely overstuffed yourself, they all start tasting a little alike LOL. But seriously, everything we had was hot and fresh. Zero complaints. The inside is a little dark, but in a cozy/intimate way, and there's still plenty of lighting. From what I remember, it's mostly booths and they're really comfortable. Bathrooms have always been clean when I've been there, and they also have a walk-up hot bar and dessert bar. I leave here absolutely STUFFED every single time. It's worth every penny and then some. I already can't wait to go back and try the Cajun seafood boil next!
