Tokyo is our favorite spot in QTown! We absolutely love coming here. Tokyo is beloved in our household and we frequently visit. Every time, the food is outstanding and the service is great. The restaurant itself is unassuming and sits at the entrance to Quantico, right by the train station. They share a building with a barber shop and the entrance to the restaurant is a door on the corner. You wouldn't expect an awesome sushi spot, but that's exactly what you'll find! The fish is always good quality and very yummy. They've got a great menu of options for sushi, including some vegetarian/vegan options. They've also got great appetizers and many entree options! First time in here today. It's a VERY unassuming spot right on the corner as you cross the railroad tracks into Q-Town. Walk inside and it's nothing like outside! Very clean and bright. Has a traditional sushi making set up with plenty of seating. Very clean. The Food The food was AWESOME! The sushi rice was just the perfect sticky, portions were generous on the pieces. This restaurant is an amazing tiny place in the center of Quantico town. I love the culture and the smile. The lady always has on her base. They always do such a good job making the food and food that I just can't hold myself back from leaving a five star review. This place is five stars and nothing like. If you guys ever have the time to stop by here or even try their food, you should because it's amazing and everybody is so nice. no complaints about this place. The miso soup and salad that they bring as appetizers are amazing as the perfect amount of spices and the rolls that they serve don't even get me started. They are amazing. Met a couple friends here for a business lunch. Never ate here before and the people I was with recommended this establishment. I've been in Q'town several times, but never ate here. The service here was very prompt and professional and the atmosphere was very casual. We ordered our drinks and they were delivered very quickly which was great timing to order our lunch. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento. Once again the service was very quick. After a short wait our meals were delivered. The meal came with miso soup as a starter. The bento had chicken, sushi, salad, fried rice, and orange slices. The meal presented very well and was prepared just right. It was an adequate amount of food for the price point and a bonus for the wonderful, prompt service. I will visit here again when I return to the area. read more

This place is not so bad. I got the chicken bento box lunch special and it came with 4 rolls of California rolls? , fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and salad. The fried rice was too cold, the salad was OK, chicken had a little sweet taste to it. The rolls were just ok, I've had better jap food. This place is in the town of Quantico, which is surrounded by the Marine Corps base. I don't know if they are open for dinner, but I've been to lunch several times. They have a large selection ranging from sushi to bento boxes to ramen. I've never had a bad meal and I'm in-and-out pretty quickly. FOOD: ***Chicken Katsu Curry- the meat itself had some chewy pieces in it, and that turned me off a bit. The curry flavor itself I loved though! It came with peas and potatoes mixed in which I didn't realize either, I'm not a fan of peas but I still ate them anyway. It was nice to try but I wouldn't order it again. ***Sweet&Sour Chicken- Didn't love this dish, the chicken was mushy on the outside and that turned me off, and the sauce was very thin almost watery consistency. Flavor was decent. I wouldn't order this again though. ***Alaska Sushi Roll and Cali Roll- Both good! Very small rolls though. My family, including 3 kids, have been coming here since we moved to the area 4 years ago. My kids hug the waitresses that they have almost grown up with, so we always feel like we are in good hands. We usually come once/week as it's the most affordable, authentic (No cream cheese), and good sushi we have found in the Stafford area. We usually get take-out, but ate in a few months ago and the only thing I would have changed was that they were using styrofoam takeout containers rather than plates and I wish they hadn't for looks as well as the environment. read more

This was the very first place I ate sushi way back in 2001 when my husband was at TBS...and I loved it then and though it looks way different now (I actually liked the dim setting--it felt more romantic)...I still love it! The menu is extensive and all four specialty rolls we tried were good, though we had our favorites. The bulgogi was different than I remembered (and not the flavor I was expecting) but it was still tasty. The service was pretty good overall (I remember at the time thinking some part of it was slow, but two weeks later and I can't remember so it obviously wasn't a big deal). Decided to try Tokyo out last night and avoid going 'off base'. After being in san diego we haven't found any really good sushi here yet. Tokyo was pretty close, fair to slightly high priced but they do add in miso and ice cream depending on your order. We had a mix up with our order and part didn't get made, the waitress corrected it and made sure we were happy before leaving. Negative is the roll I got was huge and not tightly wrapped so hard to eat. But it was very yummy and the staff was friendly, we'll be trying it again. read more

I got the sweet and spicy chicken and it was awful. There was nothing sweet about it it was sour and the chicken almost definitely wasn't fresh. Probably frozen and sauce poured over after heated. The chicken was soft and kind of mushy. I was really disappointed. With that being said, their sushi is good which is why it has 2 stars. Just stick with sushi. read more

I highly recommend this place, the service is fantastic and the staff is very friendly even helpful if you don't know your way around sushi. Inside of the restaurant is completely different from the outside and you feel like you're in Japan when you're inside it. This is the best place so far in Q town and a must go if you're heading out here or in the town. They are kid friendly, the people who work here love the kids and can feel how comfortable the atmosphere is. I could say this is the one of the best sushi I've truly ever had in my life and my top two of sushi places I've personally ever been too. It's not a disappointment and more a shocker of more how amazing the food is. They also serve alcohol too so if you want a date night or Japanese beer, they got you! You won't be let down and will enjoy your time here like I did. If you don't then that's fine too and hope they can try again to give your expectations. They fulfill my expectations every single time I came here and they deserve five stars and if anything more recognition because it's perfect, fresh, and you know it's five star quality when you say "wow" as you take your first bite. The two times I was a customer the customer service was horrendous. I nearly waited 45 minutes just to get my food. The last time I went which was last week the female waitress was extremely rude. She would serve food by reaching over the customers plate, and we had to call on her multiple times just to get service. I will not spend another cent with those folks. read more

The last review i wrote was based on the previous management, business, establishment. The outside looks just like the rest of quantico, once i walked in it felt like i had fallen into an local sushi joint in naha, Okinawa. The Menu has quite a few items on it and a lot of them are affordable and look delicious. I went with the chicken katsu, california roll combo i also added an alaskan roll to the mix. I was very skeptical and hesitant to eat here based on my previous experience but i went for it anyway. My meal came with an iceberg salad with ginger dressing, it was crispy and delicious. The sushi.... let me stop here and say that i have had dozens of sushi at various locations from japan to New orleans. My all time favorite sushi place is Yoshihachi in Okinawa japan, his was the freshest and the best i ever had. (Behind camp lester). This place falls at #4 on my all time favorite sushi place. The fish was fresh and not thawed or old, the rice had a small amount of sweetness to it and the advacado was perfect. The ginger was even outstanding! If you love sushi i highly recommend this place especially since its on base. The chicken katsu... i was hoping for a coco ichiban style chicken and curry but i was pleasantly surprised with something different yet similar. This place is not good. The reason I was nice enough to give it 2 stars is because the food was good. It took about 45 minutes to get our food after we placed the order. There were 5 in my party and the food was completely wrong on 2 and one didn't even get their meal. My order was wrong it took too long. They added things we didn't even try to order to our checks. Have us a hassle when we asked for them to be removed. Also since when is tax 10%?? Never eat in here. If you get take out make sure it is right before you leave the place. As good as it gets in Q'town for sure and has been tried and true through multiple owners a restaurant to count on for quality and a decent dining experience for the past, errr MANY years! :) Don't drive up from DC to get sushi here but if you have business in Quantico do stop in for lunch or dinner and enjoy well presented and fresh sushi. They have free wi-fi that the candidates enjoy having access to and while it is a small restaurant they don't shoo them out when they know they have nowhere else to go and hang out when on weekend liberty. The service is attentive and they even accommodated our timing of a meal with me waiting in the car with the dog in the heat and ordering and then coming in by keeping my miso soup hot for me until I came in later as we tag teamed. We even got a scoop of ice cream for dessert gratis which was a nice touch. Try the fried ice cream for something fun and different if you've not had it. read more

Ok food... with not ok service. Server was all around rude. She became frustrated early on when we had a hard time understanding her as we asked about menu options. Her mood turned dark and snappy from there on. As we were given our individual checks she had the audacity to pen circle the tip suggestions. To top it off, she insinuated that my coworker was trying to take home the pen that allegedly came with the check... which a pen didn't come with his check and actually had to use one of ours. This Japanese place has been around for ages...might have different name back in da days. I think the latest owners are Koreans, which doesn't mean bad suchi chefs. Most cusotmers here are Marines and family, and most of them served in Oki, which means they know Sushi...well, they are MAriens so they'd eat anything? Anyways, the quality is very good here. I just wish they clean up the place, looks kinda outdated. Price is okay, wish they are a little cheaper, but better than heading out of base and pay more.
