Built my own bowl, with brown rice, chicken breast and top 5 veggies. The chicken was absolutely appalling! It was rubbery and frozen. I ate around my chicken. Not sure what happened here, but I've never had a problem like this at Joe's. It looked better than it tasted. I ordered pick-up and a small drink and it seemed a little small on the portion size. That was a huge disappointment. For a big bowl and drink, right about $18. I'd pay no more than $7 for what I experienced. Perfect example of big restaurant chains sacrificing standards and cutting corners, accompanied by a price increase. Sorry Joe's, you let me down big. My money will go farther elsewhere. There have been a few issues when I order my food. Food is usually good but in several occasions the order was missing something, also customer service is not great. I have ordered from this location many times in person or through online ordering and I don't think I've encountered any issues. My order is always correct and it's always ready pretty quickly. Their sushi isn't top notch but if I have a hankering for some sushi I will order a little 4 piece or so and yeah, not perfect but good in a pinch. Great spot if you're looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch or something to take home for dinner. It's a great alternative to greasy/heavy/fried food, and you can pick and choose what you want. I ordered the 1/2 poke 1/2 tuna bowl and was really pleased. The poke tasted awesome and the tofu was a great add in. The spicy aioli had just enough kick and went really well with the tuna. I really liked that I could build my own bowl, and I took full advantage of all the toppings - the wonton strips and avocado topped off the bowl perfectly. This is a nice location and the staff was good. I'm starting to take issue with how a build-my-own tofu bowl costs upwards of $9 with veggies and tofu and it's literally 60% white rice and some tofu and barely a tablespoon or so of each veggie. I am not paying for steamed rice and expect the veggies to be overflowing for the up-charge for them alone. Each time I go to Tokyo Joe's, I notice this more and more and it seems like a cost-saving technique. So disappointed. I am recovering from surgery and have been craving a Tofu bowl. Ordered it tonight and this was the absolute worst. Mostly noodles, Tofu was burned, it had no broccoli, red peppers, or peanuts. It had only two leaves of spinach and they were beaten up, five pieces of zucchini, and two water chestnuts. Flavors and the difference of menu items. Much appreciated! Food came quickly. Store was clean. Indoor and outdoor seating. Likes the bamboo decor. Obviously by the logo it's a chain but it felt like a local in town spot with a few locations. Wasn't tasting overly processed. Not one for soy sauce or cock sauce I have pho. I got a spicy sauce and it tasted fairly meh. Maybe my palette isn't so refined. But bring your friends. Quick lunch area. The bento box seemed a better choice than the bowl. A lesson for next time I suppose. Probably try this again with visiting friends or family. Not sure if I would go solo again. When I called in, I was told that they had rolls that were either just under $5 or they were $8. I wanted to order 5 different rolls, so it's a good thing we got that figured out. I ordered the Joe's Signature Pad Thai and while that title assumes some variation to the traditional, it had almost no flavor and my noodles were severely undercooked. I had taken it home (unfortunately, because if I was there I would have given it back) and it took another 10 minutes on the stove and a concoction of my own condiments to make this edible. We found this place on route to Chili's. It was directly across the street so we thought to try something new. When you walk in, it is set up to order like a Chipotle's. There is an assortment of Asian blend foods and you sit wherever you prefer. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I am not sure if it is dog friendly. I ordered the miso soup and the lettuce wraps that came with 3 sauces. It sounded great. The miso soup was at a good temperature. But, ufortunately the chicken was super dry and my lettuce was soggy so the fillings would break the wrap. I would recommend this place as a more healthy choice for fast food. read more

My husband and I ordered build-your-own bowls. He had the steak. I had the shrimp. Both with rice and veggies. My husband said the steak was cooked perfectly and my shrimp was too. I was pleasantly surprised that the shrimp was seared. We both ordered teriyaki sauce on the side. I'm glad we did because it was a lot of sauce. We had a bunch left over. Next time we'll just order sauce for one of us because it's actually enough for both of us. I also ordered spring rolls with tofu. That was quite tasty too. My expectations were already low going in, knowing that this was a "fast food" restaurant, but what I received was NOT Japanese food or what I would even call good food. In all honesty, I am not sure if this is a fault of the company's or the locations as this was my first time going, but what I was beyond disappointing. I ordered a bowl with sirloin steak, udon noodles, the top 5 veggie mix, and spicy-aki sauce. I had imagined a stiryfry of the items similar to when you go to hibachi or any restaurant that's cooking with a sauce, but when I received my order I got FLAT semi-warm noodles with flavorless vegetables, plain steak, and the sauce on the side. I assumed the sauce was on the side for me to mix it all together myself, but this just made all the food taste as if sauce was the main dish rather than a piece that was incorporated into the meal. My main issues with this is that it was nothing like what was advertised in pictures, the udon noodles were in fact NOT udon noodles (extremely disappointing for me as I am picky about noodles to begin with and udon noodles are some of the only noodles I eat), and the bowl just seemed like ingredients they had throw together rather than marinated and actually cooked. When brought to the attention of the staff they mildly cared and threw it away. The veggies that were in our resolution bowl had gone bad and had the worst rot flavor. There are soooo many options on the menu to choose from this casual dining bistro! It's also like an Asian chipotle because you can build your own bowl! From salads, to bowls, to fresh sushi and a bento box selection... The possibilities are endless with their fresh ingredients! They even have gluten free options, WIN. I opted to build my own bowl with fresh white meat chicken, brown rice, yakitori sauce, and broccoli. Yakitori is a sweet chili sauce that paired very well with their tender chicken breast. The chicken was pretty juicy compared to how white meat can be dry at other restaurants, and they cut it into thin slices. I was amazed by the quality for this little "fast food" Asian spot. I got the regular sized bowl and the quantity of food was plenty to have leftovers, except it was so good that I couldn't help but to stuff myself full! Being a Miami-an visiting Colorado, I indulged in this amazingness like no other. Despite feeling super full, it was a very clean full feeling rather than a "I just want to roll over and sleep" kind of full. I only wish the rice to sauce ratio was more balanced. I felt like my bowl needed less sauce or more rice because I don't like having my rice is completely drenched in sauce. There's also like 4-5 different kinds of tea to choose from! First the Veggie Bowl, crisp mixed vegetables; Tofu, Spinach, Broccoli, Red Pepper, Snap Peas, Zucchini, Water Chestnuts, Green Onion, Bean Sprouts on a bed of Brown Rice. I topped it with the Red Dragon Sauce. The vegetables were perfect. The sauce was spicy and sour. I wanted the spicy, but the sour caught me off guard. The Classic Ramen was weird. I am used to a hot steaming bowl of noodles in a soy based soup. I got a bowl of lukewarm soggy noodles with a weak soup. I ate a couple of spoonfuls, but the taste of the soup was not good. I trashed 95% of the bowl, what a waste. The staff gave me a coupon for a free bowl, but I gave the coupon away. I will need a few years to forget my experience here before I am tempted to come back.
