I got the Hawaiian poke crunch and it did have a lot of rice compared to the rest but the mixture was really good. My son liked it too and he is pretty picky so that's a good thing. They have an interesting menu. You can create a burrito or bowl. The mixtures are not just fish proteins but meat ones as well. Katsu bowl! The service was really great too. Molokai is a fun fast place to grab lunch. I like to get their sushi burritos sometimes to satisfy a craving during the work week. As I think this may be obvious, the fish is nothing amazing, the last time I got a spicy tuna burrito, and found something strange in the fish mixture, hopefully a one time incident that hopefully won't happen again, but does take a star off. We were meeting a family member of mine that was in town staying in Boulder and figured the Lakewood/Golden location was good to meet in-between us for dinner one night. She accidently went to the Boulder location so she was running late meeting us. This turned in to us dining pretty late right before they closed. I felt bad for being ' those people' who walk in shortly before a place closes and they are trying to clean and wrap things up. Whoops, sorry guys! We all order some sushi burritos (rolls) and sat down while they made them. They came out quick and asked if we needed anything else. We got some wasabi and started chowing down. I got the hamachi crunch poke burrito. I would have ordered mine as a build your own but my burrito would have easily been over $20 so I stuck with the hamachi one. The fish was fresh and the roll had great flavor. I loved all of it except that it wasn't rolled tightly enough and just fell apart. I ended up having to use utensils to eat it as everything kept falling out. But great flavor. After we were done, which was past their closing time, the manager greeted us at the door and you could tell was really grateful we came in, even if it was late. Service was 10/10! Food was excellent as well! First visit and we tried the Kalbi Roll, Mochiko Chicken roll, and shrimp tempura. We did not wait very long before our food came. You can order from the kiosk or you can order with the staff. Everything tasted fresh had lots of flavor. The rolls had plenty of sauces but it almost made it too hard to eat as the roll. The man who took our order was informative and helped us make decisions on what was best for us and our little one. We each did a build your own, our daughter got a bowl and we each got wraps and filled them with cucumbers, spicy tuna, kimchi and so on! The tofu here is delicious! I want to go back just to get a side of the tofu. It is served cold, marinated in a savory and sweet sauce. I ordered a custom bowl with grilled chicken, tofu, cucumbers, sprouts, avocado, edamame, mango salsa, and spinach, on top of spring mix. I really want to try the mochiko chicken but the batter contains egg, which I am avoiding at the moment. The employee was very knowledgeable about the menu items. Pro tip: happy hour is 2-5 pm on weekdays, unsure about weekends, but makes it a much better deal since prices are a little high here, although the portion size is pretty big. As we walked in the door the two staff members didn't greet us but greeted two other guests as they walked in. Would move quicker with pictures of the ingredients all on one page vs large blocks with small words that you need to keep scrolling right to see all the options. At arrival, I was also pleased that they offered rolls and not just poke bowls. I ordered the Hamachi Crunch Roll and enjoyed it. It included Hamachi poke, grilled asparagus, spicy sprouts, crispy opinions, tempura crunch, sriracha aioli and ponzu all wrapped in seaweed paper. It wasn't as spicy as I expected, sour and zest flavors came through strongly, but still pretty tasty. My roll did not have the same girth as my companion's Shrimp Tempura Roll, which was disappointing, but still filled my belly. The inside was spacious, but could use some attention. Seemed like every table we tried was unstable and rocking. We finally went to the patio and enjoyed the sunshine. Service was friendly and polite.
