We usually enjoy Joe's but today was not a good experience. The sushi and spring rolls were good, but cashier didn't perform well. Wife-unit wanted diet cola but machine was putting out water. She went to cashier, she said "oh, it's broken". Wife-unit asked if they could fill her cup in back. No. Wife-unit asked for refund. Miraculously cashier fixed something and presented a proper cola. Tokyo Joe's may seem like a fast food place, but their food sure doesn't. I absolutely love their spring rolls. The veggies are so crunchy and as the picture shows, there's plenty of avocado in there. I prefer the soy ginger dipping sauce over the peanut sauce. The peanut sauce is thick whereas the soy ginger sauce seems light and fresh. My husband, especially likes the California roll and the spicy tuna roll. The seafood tastes fresh, and they aren't stingy with the wasabi or fresh ginger. They've also gotten much faster at getting the rolls made and out to us. There's no bar, but they selfself-serve soda, and three or four different flavors of iced tea. It's great, healthy food that won't take forever to be served. read more

I came here for the first time last week and was really impressed with the quality of food! You can pick from three sizes and I would recommend medium because it's still a lot of food and you may have left overs. I did a build my own bowl with tofu as my protein, ramen noodles as my base, the top 5 veggies, teriyaki sauce and an egg on top. I love how you can personalize your bowl to your preferences and how many sauces there were to choose from! I had a great experience at this location. The cashier was so patient with me and very helpful. He prob thought I was the dumbest girl ever but he didn't show it. My boyfriend usually orders food for me from this place and I had no idea how to lmao and thanks to the nice guy at the register I got my food to go pretty fast. So what I had to order was a build your own bowl, you pic the noodle type, the protein, the veggies, toppings, and sauce and tadaaa. The food is good for a healthy fast food option. I haven't been to a Tokyo Joe's in 4 years and today's visit reminded me why. I ordered a Thai noodle bowl and Crab cheese wonton roll (4-pcs) and I ordered through yelp. Yelp said it would take 40 mins and would update every few mins. I thought that seemed a little long so I walked into the restaurant after about 15 mins and my food had been sitting on the pick up table for who knows how long. If I had waited the time Yelp had given me, my food would have been cold. But that's not on Yelp, Tokyo joes should have indicated it was ready for pickup. Anyways, $6 for the wonton rolls, they were so small and so not worth even the $6. There was so much sauce drizzled over them. The Thai bowl was $12 and had so much red pepper flakes and tasted so burnt I couldn't even eat it. I tried to spread out some of the red pepper, but there were bits of it in every bite. I'm really upset to spend this much money on food that I really don't even want to eat. Hopefully writing this review will make me remember why I shouldn't go to Tokyo Joes. read more

There was a woman cleaning in the bathrooms as well as dining area. The employees were friendly and even wore masks. I appreciated that. However, the food.....terrible. So I went to Costco's on the West side of town and spotted Tokyo Joes and decided to give it a try. I'm a big fan of Wok type food. So I ordered a bowl with ramen noodles, tofu, peas, broccoli, cabbage, in a Teriyaki sauce. My first question was how the tofu was cooked I was assured it was grilled and well cooked, not soft. It was okay, barely grilled, kind of gross. The broccoli, cabbage and peas were nicely done and the ramen noodles were a bit overcooked, kind of soft. My biggest complaint was the sauce. They give you the sauce in a small container and no matter how hard I tried I could not stretch it out. It barely covered half the dish. The sauce was tasty but with so little of it, it was like having a water down dish. Shame they don't cook each meal and add the sauce so you have plenty of it. I have had better and will keep looking for a great wok style place here in the Springs. read more

Overall a decent place for lunch. We were looking for something lighter and this fit the bill. We ordered a couple of poke bowls, and shrimp or tuna were fresh and tasty. Had them as salads, customized as each desired, which was nice. Spicy aoli was mayo based and needed some help; would prefer to see a soy/ginger option. Also ordered pot stickers, which were good, and Arizona roll, which was meh. Not fine dining, but good for what we wanted. Service was OK-they missed one item we ordered, but we weren't charged for it and it wasn't on the ticket. They corrected promptly. My Yelp rating scale: 1 for atmosphere. Is it new and trendy? Does it fit with an ethnic motif? Is it upscale, is it a dive (in a good way). 1 for service. You can have a great meal with poor service, but that also differentiates a five star from a lower rating. 2 for food, because that's what we're here for. How does it taste? My boyfriend kept telling me how good they were from the times he was in the Denver area for work but I didn't feel the same way. They are basically a build a bowl style Asian stir fry place that also serves sushi. The sushi was terrible and overpriced and had unripe cucumbers in it. The bowls were very small portions and barely had any veggies in it. The sauce was supposed to be like a spicy schezuan but was more on the sweet side in my opinion. Kids ramen was dry, carrots were cold. 1 bowl was correct but instead of the large, juicy portion of chicken we remembered it came with, at best, a very thin, dry 1/3 of a chicken breast. The other bowl was totally wrong. Took it back. It was returned with most of the right veggies (still missing one and the topping which were on the receipt) and a pool of water from the limp veggies in the bottom of the bowl. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time today and we were so pleased with the amazing customer service. We made it known to the person taking our order that we were new to the chain and he took the time to explain in detail everything about the menu. I'm gluten free and he was able to guide me to what I could have. You can choice multiple sauces, and build your own bowl with the exact veggies that you want. The veggies were fresh and well cooked. Tokyo Joes was my lunchtime go-to in high school (circa 2000). I was thrilled when it finally landed in the Springs. Joes is your place for healthy, fast Japanese cuisine (note: Japanese does not include fried, heavily salted fare à la Pei Wei). My favorites (with some tips to get the most out of your meal): For a cheaper replica of the Yakitoti bowl, order the white chicken bowl with Yakitoti veggies. I always go the no-carb route (sub all veggies for rice or rice noodles--you'll get a massive bowl of freshly steamed veggies instead of an overwhelming amount of rice). Add a side of rice for a buck or two more. Oyako bowl. Thick noodles in a savory broth. Simple, delicious and perfect for a chilly winter day. Chicken lettuce wraps. Albeit a little pricy and a tad messy, they're a delicious way to do something different for lunch/dinner. Boulder veggie bowl. Lots of rice in this one, but the veggies and tofu are incredibly flavorful. Raw bean sprouts add the perfect crunch factor. Made-to-order sushi: Well worth the wait. Joes roll and Yo roll are perfection. Tips for sauce: Order your sauces on the side. Dragon doesn't pack as much flavor as Yakitoti or Spicyaki. You won't be charged for ordering multiple sides of sauce. Ask for a side of chili paste for extra kick--you won't find this sauce at your typical Asian joint. It's amazing. Did I mention there are six fresh brewed iced teas to choose from? What more can I say? Time to head to Joes! read more

I love Tokyo Joes. This particular location was a little slow, I waited in line for 10-15 minutes, which is a lot if you are on a lunch break from work. The weirdest thing is that it looked like a staffing problem, like they just didn't have enough people to handle the lunch influx. It kind of makes you wonder how much business they lose because of that. You see people walk in, look at the line, experience cognitive dissonance and think, "You know what... Pita Pit.
