This was a carryout order. I ordered at the counter and waited for my order. I was welcomed in by the staff. The person working the register was pleasant. There were several folks waiting for their to-go orders as well as many folks eating in the seated area. I got the potstickers, pan seared. I chose the Thai Noodle bowl and got the Teriyaki Chicken bowl for my daughter. The potstickers were tasty. My bowl was quite salty so I tasted more salt than flavor. Also the shrimp were rubbery. It was hot and the noodles were cooked well. My daughter liked her chicken bowl and said it hit the spot. I think I would chose a different dish next time. read more

My wife and I went to this Tokyo Joe's restaurant for the first time for dinner. As soon as we walked up to the counter, a friend gentleman staff greeted us. He took our order and he was friendly and professional. We waited for our bowls to arrive and it was pretty fast. The same gentleman delivered our bowls. I had been eyeing this place for a while and I finally decided to try it last night. I ordered the pad Thai veggie bowl with chicken and udon noodles and then a 4 piece California roll. At first glance everything looked okay. The sushi when I looked closer looked very bad. It was honestly the worst sushi I have ever had in my life and I do not say that lightly. Also it was almost $7 for literally 4 pieces. I would not recommend that if you are considering this restaurant. The pad Thai looked much more presentable but it had almost no flavor good or bad. I typically get steak, noodles and a few veggies with a pairing of teriyaki and their Red Dragon hot sauce. Consistency is a big factor in choosing a restaurant I will frequent and TJ's delivers. Always fresh, always delicious. The prices are slightly steep but I will pay them due to always being satisfied by my meal. Thumbs up, TJ's. read more

Tokyo Joes was such a great experience, we came in really hungry and it did not disappoint. My husband and I both created our own bowls and we both chose salmon as our protein, sweet potato as the carb and then we loaded it with several vegetables. He got teriyaki sauce on his and I got a spicier peanut sauce on mine. They were so delicious! We both got the smaller size bowl and it was a great size for us both. As far as fast casual goes, I am a fan of Tokyo Joe's ... especially for half-price sushi on Monday nights. I just visited this particular location for the first time, and I have to say that I like it a bit more than the other locations in town. The cashiers strike me as probably local high school or community college kids, so I find them to be a little more polite and friendly than the CSU students working at the other location I tend to frequent (no disrespect to CSU -- I'm an alumna -- but we just grow good kids in this town). The fare isn't exactly authentic Japanese food, but it's a pretty good Americanized version. I like the poke bowls, and now that you can customize them to your liking (rather than getting either tuna or salmon with a fixed set of fixin's) they are even better. I also like that I can get 2 4-piece sushi rolls during half-price sushi night, which makes for a nice light meal for about $7 with a drink. I do feel like Tokyo Joe's doesn't season their rice for sushi quite enough, but at least they held together (I've had them fall apart at the slightest touch at the other location). This location will be great for those times when I need to pick up a quick bite to eat on my way home from out of town, so I am sure I will be back. read more

I dont post a lot of reviews unless my experience is exceptional or unacceptable. Today was unfortunately a unacceptable experience. We have done online orders for this location multiple times and normally we show up at the time projected time it should be available and it's on the pick up order table. Today... we placed an online order, showed up at the time it was projected to be picked up... wasn't on the table. So we waited 5 minutes and saw two bowls hanging out on the prep table. Granted two peopl were working orders, but they sat there for 10 minutes... no customers to help, and just us and one couple who were just about done with their food. 15 minutes past the time it was supposed to be available, the girl who was making a catering order asked for the name on our order(first time they talked to us) and we gave them our name.. and she grabbed those two bowls that were waiting on the prep table and put them in a bag. The food was okay, and our rice was cold, with our poke warm... I like to give the benefit of doubt but were the only pick up and the only customers.. so that kind of service is ridiculous. read more

I drove by here on the way back to the hotel. I ordered a beef bowl with some veggies along with miso soup. The beef was pretty tender for a fast food place. The sauce was a little sweet but not overly sweet. The miso soup came in a cup not a bowl and they didn't put enough water so it was a little strong in flavor. DO NOT try to eat here! I love Tokyo Joe's, but you CANNOT get in to this one... the parking lot is tiny and it services like 20+ popular stores and restaurants. People are circling the parking lot like ants on an anthill, even at the farthest rows... there are just no spots. Went to Tokyo Joe's for the first time. I know it's like the fast food for Japanese food, so it's not supposed to be legit. But I really wasn't a fan. The food isn't busting with flavor. It is supposed to be healthy and maybe that is what it is. But it's just not one of those places I would crave. The service was friendly and the place was clean. I will give them that. The location is easy enough to access. Parking is limited due to the business sharing space with other eateries. The food, meh. Who overcooks salmon and serves a large bowl packed with mostly rice?? This place does. Don't order large unless you expect to end up with a ton of rice. The flavors are bland as heck too which prompted the use of more than needed soy sauce. I'm pretty sure the average and below average reviews of this joint are spot on. I've had better "bowls" around town (not mentioning names) and won't be back here. Got the general joes bowl this evening. Got it home and it was cold. No big deal I can heat it easily enough in the microwave. Try a spoonful once it is warm and it is so salty I could not taste anything else. I could not eat it. Also got some potstickers. They were edible but definitely at the bottom of most I have had. I understand that this is fast food but show a little pride in your product. I had to throw my dinner in the trash. The woman taking orders was rude, impatient and accused our daughter of taking a cookie even though she had paid for it. Customer Service at its BEST! The staff at Tokyo Joe's handled a rough situation with such professionalism that I called them to thank them and apologize for one of our poorly behaved citizens. A lady came in without a mask, she was professionally asked if they could take her order outside. She started yelling about masks and continued once outside. The food on multiple occasions has been... a disappointment. The veggies are good and you can tell they are fresh. The meat however is the issue. It's not a full portion unless you like less than a bite or two of over cooked meat. ( steak & chicken ) also plan to be there all day waiting on your food. For example every time I have ordered it's been a minimum of 25 minutes, this last time a order of a 4ct sushi roll and edamame( ordered online at 5:45 ) I'm still waiting for my food at 6:37... did I mention their is only two other people here and they came after I did. So I'm writing this review for you... go to the other location. They at least can tell the difference between their hands and their ass. And get your food out quickly with good results. read more

I was really excited to try out this new location, but after eating there I was relieved we didn't get food poisoning! There are flys everywhere, the fish for the sushi was sitting out on the counter and flys were landing on it, so gross. The floors were really dirty with trash too.
