Seared Tuna Poke Salad

We were passing through Fort Collins and looking for a refreshing salad. The seared ahi salad was spectacular. Very accommodating, clean, well run. Bottomless unique variety of drinks. A real find a couple of miles off the 25.

Beautiful interior!!!

Friendly service, patient with my questions about menu items and knowledgeable about gluten free. Clean and sanitized room during these pandemic times! Great food and great chain. Support this beautiful restaurant- it's interior is scenic. I ordered the make your own poke bowl, and it was so flavorful and fresh! We loved the spring rolls, fullll of fresh vegetables and very fresh. My partner ordered a make your own bowl, with chicken, and thought it was really good. Fresh!!! He ate every bit of it. The food here seems to be really fresh.

well. that's mold

received moldy food. that is...straight up disgusting. a hair or whatever would be one thing, mold though?! that's just nasty

Poke and yakitori bowls

Just ok, was hoping it would have been better. I came here for the first time and tried their poke bowl and yakitori bowl. The poke was better than the yakitori, but both felt a little lack luster. The yakitori bowl, I'd never order again. From its description I was expecting a stir-fry noodle type dish. But, noodles were limp, flavorless and disappointing. It's probably meant to be a health food type dish (it has a lot of veggies in it), but the massive amount of icky sweet teriyaki sauce they put on it felt like I was eating candy. The poke bowl was better, not too bad. I just wish they did their ordering system differently. I'm used to more of a subway type ordering for poke where you just pick out which ever toppings you want. Here you only get to pick a few and only from each category. And, they also don't have some traditional toppings like masago which I missed. It was ok for what it was. Fish and avocado tasted fresh. But, didn't quite satisfy my craving for actual poke :/ Not really sure I'll be back any time soon

The food is great but don't expect prompt, friendly service at this location. Your lunch hour will be over before your order is even taken.

Courteous and thoughtful service. I followed the advice of Marilyn S who you should find and follow…read moreif you live in Ft. Collins or LA. Her recommendations to try anything here are spot on. The food was A1. We had a soup bowl Koi-sho (sp?) with beef, a chicken Thai basil stir fry, crab cheese, and spring rolls. We only regret we can't return in the near future, because we don't live in Colorado. It was completely worth the trip across town from our hotel to enjoy authentic food. The ingredients were fresh, the sauces were put together with expertise, the presentation was just right. I thought the spice level of 1 was perfect--heat that didn't overwhelm the other flavors. My husband didn't complain about his level 2. He thought it was great, but he wouldn't go higher. The restaurant itself is basic tables and chairs, but each table has a beautiful live flower rooting in water. Everything looked and felt clean.

Anyway, somewhere I'd heard relatively good things, so I stopped in for take-out when I found myself on this side of town. It was well into the dinner hour but the place was relatively empty - just a couple of people at one table. In retrospect, I should have taken this as a sign. I ordered one of my go-to dishes - pad see ew - and decided to try the fried tofu as an appetizer. I am struggling to find anything positive to say, so I'll just give it to you straight. The pad see ew had barely any broccoli, which to me is essential to the dish. I ordered it with beef - they used steak, but it was cut into tiny pieces and tough - cooked too fast and too well done most likely. The tofu was deep fried hard - as in there was a really hard crust - and it was packaged with absolutely no garnish, just the hard blocks of tofu and a container of sauce. I'm not sure if they've recently changed ownership or if I caught them on a bad day - it just seems weird to me that my experience was so contrary to all of the other reviews. I may give them another chance, but I can't say that I'm going to hurry back.

Prices weren't bad and it also has a piano bar but that's only open on certain days. Although I was surprised, it wasn't more packed for a Saturday night. But good for me and my friend, so it was easy to converse without a lot of noise.

The ambiance is really nice -- I enjoyed the speakeasy-type theme, and the fact that they have a record selection you can ask the bartender to play. These are actual records, with a lot of classics in the mix. The bartender was efficient and friendly, so no issues on staff. Honestly, the restaurant, ambiance, and service were all top notch -- level five. Happy hour cocktails were reasonably priced, and honestly that's the sweet spot here -- come in for nice cocktails at happy hour prices. I also had a couple off their specialty menu; solid drinks, but at $15 a pop they add up fast. I'd suggest getting in early, though crowding didn't seem to be an issue -- it still wasn't busy when we left about an hour and a half after sitting down. My bigger gripe was the food. Loaded tater tots (happy hour) -- fine. The ketchup and ranch that came with them were actually really, really good -- the sauces were the highlight. The tots just needed slightly longer in the fryer. Not undercooked exactly, they just wanted to fall apart and didn't hold up, which made for a messy plate you basically needed a fork or spoon for. Green goddess salad, $15 -- the biggest letdown. We were looking for something lighter since we weren't trying to get full, and on paper this looked really good -- but it didn't deliver. Way too lightly dressed for the arugula, and there wasn't much flavor unless you happened to get a piece of fruit, a piece of cheese, and the arugula all in one bite. It needed crunch -- some candied pecans or another nut would've been really nice -- and just more dressing in general. Too dry, and lacking something. Fifteen dollars for essentially some arugula, and the two of us only got through half of it. Other than that, the experience was pretty solid. Would recommend, and would return.
