My waiter was super wonderful and answered my questions about the custom sushi options. I am not a fan of sushi with cream cheese, avocado, or cucumber (and most places have one or the other in most rolls). I appreciated that I could make the sushi my own. Not pictured here was a salmon roll topped with salmon roe (I call it mother and child lol). The eel was also delicious, and I can't wait to return for a visit one day.

We decided to try somewhere new last Saturday night and were told about a 30-minute wait, which is usually a good sign as the place was packed. They took our number and texted us about 20 minutes later when two seats opened at the hibachi bar. Grabbing those seats was the best decision we made as we were entertained by both the hibachi chefs and the sushi station all night. The chefs were interactive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what they do. Our waitress, Jennifer, was absolutely on point, accommodating, polite, and happy to offer recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp tempura, bagel roll, and spider roll for sushi, along with the shrimp and steak hibachi, which she thoughtfully split onto two plates for us without even being asked. The sushi arrived first, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Soup and salad followed, then the hibachi entrée , all timed perfectly so we never felt rushed or overcrowded with dishes. The shrimp was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly, and the fried rice seasoned just right with herbs and spices that complemented the entire meal. Every part of the experience flowed from start to finish. A return visit is already in the works this month. Highly recommend this spot and major thanks to the employees for being at the top of their game! Truly a 5 star experience.

I loved the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and it had a wonderful Japanese appearance in the art on the walls as well. When I come back again, I would adjust what I order a bit, but each dish we enjoyed was still prepared very well. There are also some tables in the mid section and the left wall, along with nice booth seating along the right wall. Overall, seating is well placed and comfortable, especially the booths, which were better than most restaurants I've visited this year. I'll also say that our server was just awesome! Very social, kind, and did everything he could to serve and please the customer well. The service here is something people who visit never need fear! For our meals, I chose the Mongolian beef. It's been a few years since I've enjoyed this dish. It was a large offering that was made well and tasty. However, the beef was not as tender as I expected. There were some pieces that were too chewy to eat. This happened with our other dinner, the Happy Family as well. The Happy Family is an Asian specialty meal that is very enjoyable to eat with all the vegetables of various sorts it contains (I search for the mushrooms and scallops!) But the same problem with the meat occurred on this meal too. I asked our server about it and he said that the meat for these dishes were cooked in the wok, so, in a sense if I understand correctly, the lesser quality meat gets added to these dishes. But if you order anything hibachi, then the more tender meat is used for these dishes. He said that it was a Japanese tradition to do it that way. I never had either dish made this way in the past, but I wish we would have been informed before we chose these for our meal. But still, the meals lasted two days and I have no reservations about visiting this restaurant again. I know what to be aware of next time. I also found that the prices were $15-$20 per dinner. That's a decent value for a good restaurant like this at this time. Come visit if you like Japanese cuisine at a pretty good price and a place with great service and Japanese cuisine that will leave you very content! Recommend: HIGH

It may seem odd to mention that in a review for a steakhouse, especially when their steak is also absolutely stellar, but it is really that good. The hibachi chef was skilled both as a chef and as a performer and all the food was cooked perfectly. The prices are also very low for the amount of food you receive - $37 buys 10oz of filet mignon (which is already a better price than a lot of steakhouses) but that then also comes with a huge quantity of rice, noodles, and vegetables, as well as a salad and a soup. We ate our fill and then also had like a week's worth of leftovers. It's certainly not somewhere we can afford to come super often, but it's an excellent deal for what you receive. One thing to keep in mind though is it's really cold in there, presumably so that working with the hibachi all day can be tolerable. Since customers don't stand over the hot grill the whole time you should bring a sweater.

Our calamari appetizer was undercooked and even when they took it back to refry it, it was still undercooked. In addition, I was told the soup was beef broth and I don't eat beef so he told me I had to pay extra to upgrade to a non-beef option which seems very unreasonable when it should be included in our meal. A server later told us it was chicken broth so I unnecessarily had to pay extra for the miso soup... The hibachi was good still and overall had a good flavor. We did not like our server, he was quite rude and even after being told by a different server that we would not be charged for the UNDERCOOKED calamari and miso soup, we got charged and when I asked him about it, he came up with excuses. They eventually comped it but he was very rude. I don't know that we will be going back, there's better hibachi in Jax if this is how the service is going to be.

My husband and I made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were sat quickly which was nice but the restaurant is very loud, almost like everything echos off each other. It's not a very romantic ambiance. We ordered two drinks, two appetizers, and three entrees. I ordered the yakisoba noodles with shrimp and chicken, and they brought the dish to me without the shrimp. They corrected this and gave us an additional entree made correctly, but our waitress seemed irritated that we were served incorrectly and it was awkward. They also never brought out one of the appetizers and when we brought this up to our waitress when paying for the bill, she didn't apologize or anything, she just left to the back of the restaurant, then came back in silence and handed me the handheld pay thing that had the appetizer deducted. Before we left, we ordered a dessert to go and they packaged it up for us. When we got home and went to eat the dessert, it seemed like almost a joke when I saw the size of the matcha tiramisu. It literally was TWO bites worth that we paid $10 for, and it was not very good. It's just mascarpone cheese with matcha cake and matcha powder. Not much flavor at all. It was also weird that throughout the night, they never acknowledged our anniversary. Normally I wouldn't care, but it was weird that they asked me if it was for a special occasion, if they don't use that information for anything? Outside of the dessert, everything we ate was good, but the experience will keep us from going back to this restaurant.

Well, I can say up front that this shop is special to the core! I immediately noticed the sharp in decor detail, clean, organized, and impressive in seating arrangement. The seating includes comfortable booths along the walls, along with plenty of table seating in the midsection. From appearances, for a Monday it seemed to have a good number of customers visit on this evening. It looked like some were regulars - they all seemed to like it here! Well, I can say I liked it a ton! You have no issues here wondering if ingredients are fresh or not. You can go to the front counter and look for yourself. The seafood I observed was some of the best in quality I've seen in a while. I want to say up front the service was fantastic. My server, Yvonne, was kind, respectful, and helped me navigate through the menu to finally decide what I wanted. She also made regular checks to see how I was doing, along with the customers she served in my area. Yes! Definitely a 5-star server! For my order, I picked two things I was familiar with and two things not so much. Since I hadn't enjoyed crab Rangoon for years, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity! These were pretty large, filled with cream cheese (and I think chive) and fried to a perfect crunch level. I'll be getting these every time I visit! The other item of familiarity for me was the California roll. I've eaten many of these in, you guessed it, California. However, these were much different and rich being created in this specialty shop. It certainly had the same ingredients, but it was high above in quality than any Cali roll I've ordered in the past. The two rolls that I had no eating experience with in the past were the holiday roll and the Tokyo roll. Of the three rolls, the Tokyo roll was my favorite. I somehow didn't include it in my menu photos here. But it had a little spice kick and seafood (fish or crab) - I just highly recommend it! The holiday roll is on the menu, but ingredients are not listed there. However, Yvonne noted to me that many customers who visit choose to eat this roll only during their visits - so it is a very popular and delicious offering here! I sure would eat it again! In all, visiting Fancy Sushi & Grill exceeded my expectations in all three categories that Yelp likes us to cover for our reviews. When you have great customer service, beyond superb sushi plates and offerings, along with a wonderful setting that makes customers feel pleasant and welcome their entire visit, well, I can only say it made for a perfect evening - and I'll be back! I hope those who read this visit too! Recommend: VERY HIGH

The server was nice, got our drink orders, and then came back for our entree orders. I love their soup here, super simple, but super delicious. When we ordered our entrees we noticed on the kid's menu they don't offer combos like they do on the adult menu. My kiddo had a hankering for both chicken and steak, so we ordered him the steak, I got the steak and chicken and gave him my chicken, and my husband got the steak and chicken. So typically when we've come here we love the food and the entertainment of having a hibachi chef. They normally make it really interactive and fun, this time around was a different story. Our hibachi chef was pretty lackluster, no throwing the egg, no funny quips about the rice or veggies. It wasn't really dinner and a show. One of my favorite items is the Japanese fried rice, because I like the crispy bits you get when it's cooked on the hibachi....no crispy bits. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chicken was flavorful, but disappointed in the lack of show and the rice this time around. I'm hoping this is a one off.

Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth.
