Fuji Sushi - Solid Lunch Spot With Surprisingly Generous Portions Stopped into Fuji Sushi for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how relaxed the vibe was. Light crowd, quick seating, and the kind of calm that actually makes a midday meal feel like a break. First win of the visit: the sweet tea. Perfectly balanced -- not too sugary, not too watered down -- just that ideal Southern-style "ahh" with every sip. I ordered the teriyaki shrimp combination plate, and let me tell you... they are not shy with portions. I couldn't finish it even though I really tried. The teriyaki was solid, but the real star of the plate was the fried rice -- flavorful, buttery, and honestly good enough to stand on its own as the main dish. Overall, Fuji Sushi is a reliable lunch spot: generous servings, great fried rice, and a calm atmosphere. I'll definitely be back when I want a filling meal without the rush.

Order: eel avocado roll and spicy Cali salad. Oh how I've missed their Cali salad. I've moved away about three years ago but I was glad they were still in business. Their version of a spicy crab salad comes with imitation crab, cucumbers, avocados, spicy mayo and a hint of lemon juice. The avocado and lemon are surprisingly enjoyable additions. One thing I think changed was the number of sushi pieces you get. I recall getting 8 pieces but this time I got 6. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant dining experience.

2025 review: they still got it. Had 3 of their special rolls: rose, love story, twister - all were absolutely delicious. Was visiting the area for a few days and decided to see if this place was still here (after more than 10 years). Sure enough, place still here and the inside hasn't changed...that's a good thing. Not only did it bring back memories, the sushi did not lose its quality. My wife and I have moved around quite a bit during that time, and I have to say, it f this place was elsewhere (miami, Seattle, Oakland"d, etc) it would be popping. In conclusion, all you Mayport/Jacksonville residents, don't squander this gem of a place. I'll admit, this place use to be our go-to, but we didn't realize how good this place was until we moved away. Glad it survived the COVID years, glad to had another opportunity to have some sushi here after so long. 2015: 1 word...ok Maybe 2, "The Best"

Only one there but lots of ordering out.

I got there around 6 only two other tables besides me but the atmosphere was great. I loved the environment. The food was great I highly recommend the hibachi there it was perfect. The service was great and attentive. I will come again.

Pretty good sushi - a little pricey overall - they receive a lot of takeout orders and the service inside lacks because of this - sushi was good and worth the wait - inside decoration could do with a refresh! 3.5/5

This Fuji Sushi is a small restaurant without the flaming grills. It's a corner building and easily missed in this big plaza. Take the time to look, it's toward Monument. Side across from Ross. I was feeling sushi but not a lot of rice so I started with a seaweed salad and green tea. Got my veggies in for the day too. The salad was seasoned perfect, I like tangy sweet but not sweet tangy, it was tangy sweet. The Ichiban sushi roll was good, I think the sauce made it better. I'm partial to raw eel and salmon normally. The plating was pretty too. I will definitely come back if I'm on this side of the Dames point.

Very clean inside. Small and very quiet. The waitress made us feel really rushed to order. She did get our drinks and food out fast, and checked on us often. The food was fresh and really delicious.

A BITE OF A LIFETIME!! I just went to Fuji Sushi with a groups of friends and it was an amazing experience! The second I took that bite of sushi, my life was instantly changed. I purchased the Florida Roll and it was DELICIOUS. The perfect combination of shrimp and spicy mayo. This roll has the perfect crunch and it was delectable. If you are thinking about coming to this place, YOU HAVE TO GO. And the service is amazing. They were quick and attentive!!! My life has been changed because of Fuji Sushi and so should yours.

Fuji Sushi (in Regency) is the my favorite. Its a small place with not a lot of tables. There are some 2 tops, 4 tops, and a few seats at the sushi bar. We are always greeted with a friendly hello..welcome when we enter. Because there aren't many tables it can cause a wait if you get there when it is busy. Tonight we ordered Salmon Maki, Spicy Crab Maki, and the following sushi pieces: salmon, crab stick, escolar, mackerel, shrimp. I also order extra ginger because theirs is just so fresh, sweet and spicy...I love it! Their escolar and salmon are the best! No fishy taste at all. They were buttery and smooth. The crab and shrimp were sweet and delicious. Our 1 year old loved the crab. He also loved the kids fried rice. You get a large portion for a kids meal. My husband had the mackerel and enjoyed it. At the end they brought out a complimentary dessert of pineapple. Which was beautifully cut and so sweet and refreshing! If your in the Regency area you should check them out dine in or take out. Their take out is always super busy!

Food was awesome! Very tasty, not too salty. Food was fresh and hot, came for lunch with 2 other coworkers and we all left happy and full. Sodas are canned not fountain so not sure about refills...looks like you'll just order another can. Clear soup was hot and tasty! Staff were super friendly. Definitely enjoyed the hibachi scallops and beautiful sushi display. See pictures below. My waitress was super sweet and respectful, ask for Sunny (that's her name).

I'm new to Jacksonville Florida, originally from Southern California. My wife and I had our favorite sushi in California we used to go to. Here in Jacksonville we've been to a few places and then found Fuji Sushi. As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated. Customer service was great. We ordered and food was fresh and and well plated. The taste immediately tasted clean and fresh and very good. Highly recommended!!!

I love the earthy window shades.

For years, I've never truly paid attention to the shops in the Commerce Center Drive shopping plaza via the Southside Connector. One recent evening, as I drove past this restaurant's sign within same shopping plaza; and not even hours later stumbled upon a notification of a Yelper's check-in to the same exact restaurant; and finally a few reviews in, I couldn't resist adding this FUJI Sushi to my bookmarks. Today, since I was within the area, I decided to randomly pull from my bookmark of nearby places for lunch and sushi dined (so she dined) at Fuji Sushi. All I truly wanted was sushi for lunch. Celine, one of the amazing waitresses, graciously greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. She asked if I was dining in; picking up; or placing a to go order. Even though, I was placing a to go order, they treated me as if I was dining in and offered me a seat as I waited for my Crazy Rolls. The wait time was less than 15 minutes or just enough time for me to capture an image of their cool bamboo bush window shades. Even though my crazy rolls tasted phenomenal; the nori (seaweed) was a bit chewy. I've never experienced chewy nori before but, I later found out that nori becomes chewy from the moisture of the rice or ingredients within the roll itself if the rolls aren't eaten as soon as they are made. Lesson learned: Eating nori is like the NOW part of Now or Laters (the candy.) Eat the nori, asap! Or LATER it will not be the same. LOL! I can't wait to visit again. I am looking forward to tasting their gyozas.

    Woops I already ate one.

Tucked away off Old St. Augustine Road in Mandarin, Lucky Cat Dim Sum serves some of the freshest dim sum in Jacksonville. Everything arrived steaming hot, a small detail that makes a big difference. Dim sum is meant to be eaten fresh from the basket, not after a leisurely stroll around the dining room. The classics were all excellent. The chicken shu mai were substantial, flavorful, and held together beautifully. The black pepper beef short ribs were fall-apart tender. The fried shrimp balls delivered the kind of crunch that announces itself before the flavor arrives. The barbecue pork bun was pillowy soft and packed with a sweet-savory filling that lingered long after the last bite. Dessert was equally successful. The mango mochi had the ideal chew and was loaded with chunks of ripe mango. The taro Lucky Cat bun, shaped like the restaurant's mascot, could have coasted on appearance alone. Instead, the filling was smooth, lightly sweet, and thoughtfully restrained. What separates Lucky Cat from every other dim sum restaurant in Jacksonville is its willingness to have fun. The menu is filled with East-meets-West creations that could easily become gimmicks in less capable hands. Everything Bagel Buns, Buffalo Chicken Buns, and other familiar flavors offer diners an approachable gateway into the world of dim sum. The standout was the Cheeseburger Shu Mai. It sounds like the sort of thing that should fail spectacularly. Instead, it works. Seasoned ground beef wrapped in a delicate shu mai wrapper and topped with melted cheese. The beef carried a bold Cajun kick, the cheese added richness, and somehow the whole thing remained balanced. It tasted far bigger than a single bite had any right to. I've eaten at every dim sum restaurant Jacksonville has to offer, and Lucky Cat stands at the top of the list. It delivers the classics with confidence while bringing enough creativity to keep even seasoned dim sum fans interested. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once.
