This place is a good staple for an easy dinner out. Every dish that I have tried has been great. I love that they serve you pineapple as a sweet treat after your meal as well. 2025 review: they still got it. Had 3 of their special rolls: rose, love story, twister - all were absolutely delicious. Was visiting the area for a few days and decided to see if this place was still here (after more than 10 years). Sure enough, place still here and the inside hasn't changed...that's a good thing. This Fuji Sushi is a small restaurant without the flaming grills. It's a corner building and easily missed in this big plaza. Take the time to look, it's toward Monument. Side across from Ross. I was feeling sushi but not a lot of rice so I started with a seaweed salad and green tea. Got my veggies in for the day too. The salad was seasoned perfect, I like tangy sweet but not sweet tangy, it was tangy sweet. The Ichiban sushi roll was good, I think the sauce made it better. Tonight we ordered Salmon Maki, Spicy Crab Maki, and the following sushi pieces: salmon, crab stick, escolar, mackerel, shrimp. I also order extra ginger because theirs is just so fresh, sweet and spicy...I love it! Their escolar and salmon are the best! No fishy taste at all. They were buttery and smooth. The crab and shrimp were sweet and delicious. Our 1 year old loved the crab. He also loved the kids fried rice. You get a large portion for a kids meal. My husband had the mackerel and enjoyed it. At the end they brought out a complimentary dessert of pineapple. Which was beautifully cut and so sweet and refreshing! If your in the Regency area you should check them out dine in or take out. I used to absolutely love this place. I was a regular from 2017 until just a few weeks ago. I will not spend a single penny here ever again. I called to place an order over the phone and did so. According to the woman on the other end of the phone my near $60 dollar order would be ready in about 25-30 minutes. I showed up 35 minutes later. My order was not ready. The woman at the front counter went ahead and processed my payment and said she was going to get it. She then walked toward the back of the restaurant. I waited. No order. 10 minutes passes. No order. 15 minutes. No order. 20 minutes. Nope. 30 minutes after I arrived. Still no. At the 40 minute mark my food was finally brought to me and I left. Once I got home and took out my order I noticed something seemed wrong. They completely left out a part of my order. I called back and explained that not only was a part of my order missing, but just how untenable the wait and whole experience was. The same woman who took my order said the kitchen made the dish that was missing and asked me how many boxes I had in the bag - she had me thinking I had made a mistake. She also conveyed she was sorry about the long wait. I asked how the restaurant was going to remedy this. She offered lame options that paled to my horrible experience. She did say she would have to discuss the situation with the owner/manager about what else they could to keep me as a customer. I waited several weeks and finally went back inside today. The same woman was there and immediately recognized me - I was a regular - and told her I'd like to place an order but wanted to know what she and the manager had decided. She basically gave the same paltry options but did say they would be willing to offer a discount. I asked, how much? $12.00 Now, I would have preferred she had come out from behind the counter and just spit on my shoes. Twelve dollars. WoW. That won't cover some of the specialty rolls on their menu. So, I - a regular that normally spends north of $50 per order - is not worth a single special sushi roll. This could have been partially avoided. If when I called to order the woman could have just said it's gonna take longer and I would have been fine with it and shown up later. I felt cheated. Wait, no. I still feel cheated. You don't ask a customer show up only to have them wait at the restaurant more than the time suggested and then ultimately forget a dish in the order and expect the customer to be thankful for a pittance. Relatively small place, small sushi bar with two or three chefs, attentive staff, and clean. The entire staff was Japanese, which is always a plus. First, the sushi rice was some of the best I have even had. Small pearl grain, coming together just so with a wonderful fresh flavor. Layered over that was exceptional salmon, soft as butter, flavorful, fresh. Just a wonderful combination. The making of sushi rice is one of the most important elements in the training of a sushi chef - a process than can take a decade. The folks at Fuji clearly know their stuff. There were two apprentices and one master chef at Fuji. The miso soup was rich and flavorful. I had an avocado salad that consisted of finely sliced a Hass avocado on a bed of baby spinach leaves topped with a excellent ginger dressing. With one meal, I can't form a solid understanding of this place but based on the one simple meal, I thinks this place is a gem and merits your attention. I will definitely be back. read more

For years, I've never truly paid attention to the shops in the Commerce Center Drive shopping plaza via the Southside Connector. One recent evening, as I drove past this restaurant's sign within same shopping plaza; and not even hours later stumbled upon a notification of a Yelper's check-in to the same exact restaurant; and finally a few reviews in, I couldn't resist adding this FUJI Sushi to my bookmarks. Today, since I was within the area, I decided to randomly pull from my bookmark of nearby places for lunch and sushi dined (so she dined) at Fuji Sushi. All I truly wanted was sushi for lunch. Celine, one of the amazing waitresses, graciously greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. She asked if I was dining in; picking up; or placing a to go order. Even though, I was placing a to go order, they treated me as if I was dining in and offered me a seat as I waited for my Crazy Rolls. The wait time was less than 15 minutes or just enough time for me to capture an image of their cool bamboo bush window shades. Even though my crazy rolls tasted phenomenal; the nori (seaweed) was a bit chewy. I've never experienced chewy nori before but, I later found out that nori becomes chewy from the moisture of the rice or ingredients within the roll itself if the rolls aren't eaten as soon as they are made. Lesson learned: Eating nori is like the NOW part of Now or Laters (the candy.) Eat the nori, asap! Or LATER it will not be the same. LOL! I can't wait to visit again. If you just want great sushi, make this the next leg of your quest and read no further. I have no significant complaints in that department. However, this udon.... While pho is everywhere in this country now, and even ramen is enacting a successful invasion, here I am disappointed by udon yet again. Well, it's not all bad. These noodles do have a high quality mouth feel. The tempura was also somewhat better than the last place where I ordered udon *cough* Volcano *cough*. On the other hand, several of the other ingredients are less than ideal. The chicken was like a couple flavorless erasers. In udon, I prefer either a soft boiled egg or egg that spreads through the broth like an egg drop soup. This was pretty much hard boiled. Where's the kamaboko? And, yet again, the bland broth and overpowering broccoli. Just why? Light does NOT mean bland. And broccoli does NOT belong in udon. That's not just my preference. That's basic food logic. Ask me if my favorite udon and soba joints in Okinawa use broccoli in a bland broth. Go ahead. Broccoli has a bitter taste with an unmistakable texture. A lot of people don't like it, but it is amazing for cutting through carbs and fat as a contrast. This is why it is great in dishes like chicken 'alfredo' and broccoli beef. That doesn't apply to udon because you have a light broth with light ingredients. Instead, try using some green onion or spinach or bok choy or, I don't know, you can even use some romaine/green leaf lettuce if you want. Almost any other green leafy vegetable would be better than broccoli here. read more

Honestly, this place is a hidden gem in the Arlington area! I wouldn't have given this place a second look if it weren't for my trusty Yelpers and their reviews. The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside, but once you walk in you're instantly greeted by the friendly staff. It was a relatively slow on a Saturday night when my hubby and I walked in. However, after about 15 minutes 5 other parties walked through their doors. After browsing through their menu, I could tell that I was going to love this place. They actually had uni (sea urchin) and anago (salt water eel) on their menu. I haven't been to a sushi place yet in Jacksonville that actually offered both those things. Anyway, my hubby and I decided to just pig out. We ordered two pieces each of ama ebi (sweet shrimp with the deep fried shrimp head), uni, anago, and unagi (freshwater eel). We also ordered three of their rolls. I distinctly remember their rose roll, which is basically a sushi roll that's wrapped with more fish on the outside. Definitely low carb, high protein and tasty! Unfortunately I don't recall the names of the other two rolls we ordered. They were delicious, but they offer so many different types of rolls that it's difficult to remember what we got. Convenient location near the AMC movie theatre and a great place to get lunch. A normal sized sushi restaurant and nice décor. I was catching up with friends that I haven't seen in about 2 years. Sat down with them and the waitress was nice providing the menu. Many different choices to choose from and of course, they have their own specialty rolls as well. I chose the Sushi Lunch special which included 2 salmon nigiri, 2 tuna nigiri, and California roll and a Rainbow Roll (my favorite as always). Sushi Note: Nigiri (the appropriate term) is the type of sushi made where the fish is pressed on top of the rice. We all got our food and my sushi was good with good texture, fresh fish and vegetables. Easy to chew and compatible with the shrimp sauce (aka white sauce and yum yum). Nigiri dipped with soy sauce is classic and goes well together as it should be. Overall, I was satisfied with this and will hit this place up when I'm around the area again. read more

My wife got a 10 piece sashimi lunch to go at Fuji Sushi Regency today. two of the pieces were cooked shrimp. I don't even consider that sashimi. but worse, there were four pieces of white fish (two different kinds), that smelled like anchovies and tasted bad. she only ate part of one but didn't eat the rest and now her stomach hurts. when I called all they offered was to give me two pieces as a replacement. She said some people don't like white tuna. I've never heard of white tuna but that's not the point. The fish was smelly. It was not fresh. apparently two pieces of cooked shrimp and four bad pieces of fish only warrant two pieces of replacement. I go here often so I am really disappointed in the service. We had some Clear Soup, as we always do, to start. It was the best we've had! It was excellent. Also ordered a bottle of sparkling Sake (Awaka) and was very pleased. Ordered our normal 4 sushi rolls, and we both agreed it was even better than our previous favorite, Sake House. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and the Ichiban Roll. We left nothing behind! Super delicious, and now tops the list of our favorite places to enjoy sushi. I was a regular at the Fuji Sushi on San Marco (my fave location). I pretty much thought they were the same but they have their differences. I met a co worker here and the atmosphere is really cramped... It's narrow and you can see everything from anywhere you stand in the building. Our waitress was very sweet and knowledgable (the only reason I gave it 3 stars). Even though there wasn't that many people in here our food took about 25 minutes to come out. The steak that I got in my bento box was really tough, I didn't eat it. The best thing in the box were the two shrimp dumplings. My co worker enjoyed his food though, I guess that's all that matters.
