Here on a weekday meeting some friends for lunch. The vibe was chill and it was empty when we first arrived. They had serene Japanese music playing in the background and beautiful Japanese art work displayed through out the restaurant. I've been to the location on the east side of Lancaster but never to this one. Right after we arrived patrons started to come in. Our server was Gigi and she was awesome. I can't remember the name of the guy that did our cooking but he did an amazing job. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was delicious. Thank you and see you next time. read more

This place is a great spot to come and sit down to eat. Smells amazing when you walk in. Looks like they actually decorated to make it look good. Does it need a refresh? Absolutely but it does not lack charm. Staff is very nice! Only complain today ordered to go asked for rice and beef bowl and shrimp and rice.... Then I did ask the person who took my order to please add teriyaki sauce and spicy shrimp and made sure there's veggies.... He said no problem. Picked up got home.... Dices of beef....no sauce and no veggies. Shrimp disappointed me it was the small kind... no veggies and not spicy. Ugh for the price I expected more. This was my second time trying this place. The first time I dined in for lunch, and overall it was a good experience. However, today I ordered takeout, and I really wish I had just eaten there instead--especially after paying $40 for a plate. The food was not good at all this time. I asked for my steak medium, but it came out way overcooked--dark, rubbery, and lacking flavor. The vegetables were mostly greasy onions, and the soup honestly tasted like water. I kept stirring it hoping it would improve, but it never did. The salad was also disappointing--just a few shreds of lettuce, with the bottom of the container clearly visible. The fried rice was fine, but that was about it. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering takeout. It felt like much less care went into the food compared to dining in. On a positive note, the waitresses seem nice. However, I was only given the red sauce initially and had to ask for the yellow sauce, which took a while to get. It would be helpful if sauces were prepared and included with to-go orders from the start. read more

Came here to celebrate a graduation. Arrived at 12 exactly at opening. We were seated right away. The restaurant overall could be more organized as you see boxes lying around and there is also one room full of different items that should be closed and not be exposed to the public. The experience itself was awesome, our chef was Angel and he made sure that we were included in the presentation. He didn't just cooked the food but every dish had a story to go with. Ordered the steak and chicken combo which comes with salad, miso soup and vegetables. Rice is additional cost but worth it. The food quality and portions have went down hill. Highly disappointed with my food, service was just ok. I got shrimp and scallops, the scallops were literally just cut in pieces and you hardly got any. The shrimp tasted moldy and the portions were way smaller. The cook wasn't entertaining. For my first ever Teppanyaki experience, I had the opportunity to go to Tokyo Steak here in Palmdale for my cousin's birthday and it was a great time. I did not really know what to expect as I had never been somewhere like this before. All I knew was that they cook food in front of you lol. I ordered a chicken and steak combo and it was really good actually. A little too high in price if I'm being honest but it's the spectacle you're also paying for not just the food. That being said, our cook, Angel, did a spectacular job. He was great to talk to and he made everyone feel comfortable at the table. He cooked our food with expertise and total professionalism. Props to him. Also the waitress was very attentive and made sure we had all the things we needed like hot sauce, water or appetizers. I also liked the environment of the restaurant. A bunch of photos of sumo wrestlers and decorations. They had some swords up at the front by the bar which was pretty cool and they even have a big wall by the entrance that has photos of famous people who have eaten at the restaurant before. read more

Food is great. However, since when does a restaurant charge customers for consumables? Plastic cups 50 cents. Why not charge for napkins, straws etc. If I go back, they can keep their plastic cups. Consumables should be part of their overhead (indirect). read more

The wait time I had to experience was one of the worst I've ever had at this restaurant. 40 minutes waiting for someone to come up to us and even say how much longer have to wait which was another 25-30. Once sat we waited another 40 minutes. It's no one to blame but management and under staffing the employees to deal with a busy night. The chefs also rushed the food and cook things incorrectly to get to everyone. I also wanted to order sushi but the waitress said they couldn't take orders but shortly after I see a sushi roll be taken to another table. Went to Tokyo steakhouse in Palmdale for my best friend's birthday recently. Older Asian man watched us by walking up and down next to our table for 30minutes before taking a seat directly next to us. After ordering food, the man had the waiter come and force us to pay the bill within 6 minutes. I kid you not. No other tables nearby were asked to pay before eating, we asked. Immediately after paying we were asked to get up, bag our food, and leave the restaurant. Hours before closing. No other tables nearby were asked this. I've visited this restaurant for over 5 years on random occasions and I will never be going back. Extremely disappointed and appalled in how we were perceived and treated in public. Came here for Saturday lunch and was one of the first people there. Seated fairly quickly and was asked drink orders fairly quickly. But there was about a 30 minute wait of just sitting there without anything going on so that was a little frustrating. Salad was meh, miso soup was ok. The actual rating would be a 4.2, I gave the whole five because this is the first teppanyaki restaurant that asked if anyone at the table had any sensory issues. They identified that they would have loud noises, possibly flashing of light from them using the spatula and other equipment, along with the use of fire. They let us know we could opt out of any of the above. A few issues with the restaurant were that it is overdue for a renovation as the walls need to be repaired/repainted and the carpet needs to be replaced. The servers were not the best, as they missed a few opportunities to check in with our table and did not notice we had been sitting at our table waiting for the check. Now it's time to point out the best parts, chef Michael was AMAZING!!! We have been to the two major competitor companies one starting with a "B" and the other with an "S," Chef Michael could contend and beat most of the competitor chefs. His storytelling, customer service, and caliber with which he prepared our food, were superior! At our table, we had a few orders of shrimp and scallop dinners, and everything was perfect. I even tried one of the scallops (which I usually do not like because they have always been rubbery). These were perfect, sweet, and buttery. We also had steak and chicken, shrimp yakisoba, and a spicy tuna roll. Everything was perfect; this is not the best location, but for an area that does not have competitors anywhere close, let me know if you will get a better value here. They have everything you would get at one of the other places but with an environment that is more welcoming and friendly, better quality cooking, and the best storytelling combined with the true artistry of cooking. read more

First visit to your restaurant. Food was good, menu should show more pictures of food so you know what your serving will look like. Preview pictures of appetizers. This will increase sales. Waitress' should also offer them. Waitress' and chefs dressed professional and they were friendly. A couple of ladies came in and were seated at our table with already six people and they asked to move to another table, it felt cramped. In all we enjoyed the evening and dinner, wish you had a choice of soups, like egg drop soup. We ate the soup but commented we didn't care for the taste. It would be nice if time periods were explained; It seemed awkward, in the in-between times, as we wondered what was going on. Another tip. One couple at the table were eating their salad and soup when we came into the restaurant. When it came time to watch dinner cook and be served, the chef cooked our food first and served the couple that came in way before us last, seemed awkward for us, this is just an observation. We decided to try this restaurant after trekking out here with family. I must say that it was a nice place. OK I tried to take the family here yesterday and have to report back. I have not turned out many reviews in a while but this one for public awareness is needed. I wanted to do some hibachi style food and only been to the Lancaster one so we tried Palmdale. I had good times at Lancaster many years ago so I was excited to give this a go. We got there and noticed immediately when walking in no a/c. Its been a sweltering hot summer and that was a concern off the bat. We waited at the podium on a pretty empty dining area with only three parties in sight dining and did not get seated right away. not a big deal but then sat down to wait the longest 5 min of my life in the heat to get a drink order done. While waiting and sweating I chose to look around and couldn't help but notice the amount of crap all over the floor. trash and napkins and food bits and straw wrappings peppered the floor everywhere. Its like they don't own vacuum or something..... So I could probably stomach a wait this long for a drink somewhere else in a/c or outside on a nice patio but this day in this heat I was hating it!!! So we finally get a waitress to come take our order and she was polite and nice and we ordered a few waters and a beer. Then after taking my order my fiancé leans to me and says "I overheard the manager telling an employee to leave because he's TOO SICK!"..... I immediately thought well damn the signs are stacking up for me. Had to pull the executive decision and cancel our drink order and gtfo. I apologized on the way out for cancelling the drink order but that kind of talk in this day and age with the environment there is just not a gamble I want to take. I wanted to leave and not risk touching anything else in that place or sharing any more of that non a/c non ventilated air.... I think the Tokyo Steak places have lots of promise but are going to be needing management revamp to get me back. And a Vacuum. Have to give 1 star and would generally not do that without having the food, but the conditions made it impossible for me to have the food!!! Confession: I've never been to a teppanyaki before this. I was wondering how it worked. Will I have to eat whatever was put in front of me? Do I get a choice? I and a coworker came for lunch and were seated on one of the tables around a flat top. We were handed menus and I felt a great relief knowing I will get a choice of what to eat! I ordered BEEF YAKISOBA and my coworker ordered something else. After a short wait, a cook/chef came around wheeling a cart full of raw food. I get a show after all! Came here to celebrate with my parents. The place was packed! Not one grill was empty on a Thursday evening. The waitress was attentive to our needs and our drinks, soup and salad came out in record time. I ordered steak and shrimp combo with fried rice. The meat was made just like I asked and when I specified no bell peppers, the chef didn't flinch and accommodated me with blinking an eye.
