This place is a great spot to come and sit down to eat. Smells amazing when you walk in. Looks like they actually decorated to make it look good. Does it need a refresh? Absolutely but it does not lack charm. Staff is very nice! Only complain today ordered to go asked for rice and beef bowl and shrimp and rice.... Then I did ask the person who took my order to please add teriyaki sauce and spicy shrimp and made sure there's veggies.... He said no problem. Picked up got home.... Dices of beef....no sauce and no veggies. Shrimp disappointed me it was the small kind... no veggies and not spicy. Ugh for the price I expected more. Maybe bad luck ... last time I ordered it was better but this time it let me down. So I'm giving it a 3.

I wish I could leave 0 stars. Dirty. That lady in the front is mean asl. Food was DISGRACEFUL, BLAND, and undercooked! It was the worst hibachi I've ever had! I can't keep letting this place slide. It stinks by the bar, it's overpriced... there's no redemptive qualities about this establishment and I'm surprised it's still open. This is the last time I'm eating here so I might as well review it. 0/10!!

This was my second time trying this place. The first time I dined in for lunch, and overall it was a good experience. However, today I ordered takeout, and I really wish I had just eaten there instead--especially after paying $40 for a plate. The food was not good at all this time. I asked for my steak medium, but it came out way overcooked--dark, rubbery, and lacking flavor. The vegetables were mostly greasy onions, and the soup honestly tasted like water. I kept stirring it hoping it would improve, but it never did. The salad was also disappointing--just a few shreds of lettuce, with the bottom of the container clearly visible. The fried rice was fine, but that was about it. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering takeout. It felt like much less care went into the food compared to dining in. On a positive note, the waitresses seem nice. However, I was only given the red sauce initially and had to ask for the yellow sauce, which took a while to get. It would be helpful if sauces were prepared and included with to-go orders from the start.

Came here to celebrate a graduation. Arrived at 12 exactly at opening. We were seated right away. The restaurant overall could be more organized as you see boxes lying around and there is also one room full of different items that should be closed and not be exposed to the public. The experience itself was awesome, our chef was Angel and he made sure that we were included in the presentation. He didn't just cooked the food but every dish had a story to go with. Ordered the steak and chicken combo which comes with salad, miso soup and vegetables. Rice is additional cost but worth it. The waiter was great as well, kept our drinks filled and was constantly checking on us. Worth to give it a try!

I do want to start by saying the host who greeted us was very pleasant and kind. I didn't catch her name, but she made a great first impression. From there, our server (I believe her name was Daisy) rushed us to place our orders, despite the fact that we were her only table at the time. It felt unnecessary and made the experience uncomfortable. When we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, her response was simply, "I know," with no effort to engage or make the moment feel special. To be fair, she did bring us a couple of refills, but overall her attentiveness and social skills were not up to par, especially for an occasion like a 16th birthday where a little extra effort can make a big difference. In contrast, the cook was fantastic--very entertaining, personable, and truly made the hibachi experience enjoyable. He was definitely the highlight of our visit. However, service continued to be an issue. We had to rely on the busser for additional soda refills and eventually had to ask another staff member (possibly a manager) for the check and assistance with acknowledging the birthday. Unfortunately, there was little initiative from our server to check in or help make the celebration feel special. To be honest, the automatic gratuity was disappointing in this case. A $55 tip was added, but the level of service we received did not reflect that amount. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback and provides additional training, especially around customer engagement and attentiveness, because the overall experience could have been much better with stronger service.

I think they may want to consider raising their prices to afford some upkeep on their premises, as it is aging. I ran across this place because it happened to be in the same parking lot as my primary destination, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have visited Benihanas before and this place had the same general vibe, but I had a better experience here than any Benihana I've been to. I had the NY steak entree which comes which a choice of soup (I had miso), a small salad, grilled shrimp appetizer, and I upgrade my steamed rice to fried rice for a few bucks. I also had the tempura banana with ice cream desert. I arrived alone. Having never been here I was impressed by the little pond and waterfall with stream and koi fish. The whole building had an air of what was once a premium setting but had succumbed to age and poor maintenence. I see potential here, but it would require a heavy financial investment at this time to repair and clean. I was sat with a group of a couple family's that had just returned from a beach trip. They were all very polite and nice, but the smell of coconut sunscreen became a feature of my dining experience. The cook put on a bit of a spectacle, lighting onions on fire and flipping food around. All of the food tasted good, not amazing, but I have no complaints. It was well worth the very reasonable price. The stand out part of my meal was the simple tempuraed banana with ice cream desert - I may return just for this!

If you're lucky enough to get Nathan as your chef, you're in for an amazing meal and an even better experience. Benihana needs more chefs like Nathan and Tommy too!

First was through their traditional (phased-out) Chef's Table Loyalty program--$30 off after an initial $30 spend (weekday dinner only, not including alcohol). Second was through their new Friends with Benefits Loyalty program--$50 off (no specifics on dinner or alcohol). Benihana is now part of The One Group that includes other restaurants like STK and Kona Grill where you can also earn points/rewards. I've seen the Benihana teppanyaki "show", and once is enough. It's best enjoyed with a group large enough to fill up an entire table, otherwise you are grouped with others. And the wait for a chef can be long depending on how many are working at that time and the number of tables occupied. Benihana food is mediocre at best, far from authentic, and quite pricey for what you get--without the BD offer, there is no value, although they do have some specials and a Happy Hour menu. For the past few years, we've avoided the teppanyaki tables and go to the sushi bar/lounge, which has bar seating and high and low-top tables. Here's where you can do Happy Hour, Lounge menu, or the regular menu without the show and less of a wait. I noticed in the interim between my 2 visits, the menu prices increased! The Happy Hour menu is not included with the BD offer, so I usually order sushi/sashimi. This year I tried a few noodle dishes. Although there is a sushi bar, I don't think it has traditional seating nor a dedicated sushi chef. Frankly, when I've ordered sushi/sashimi in the past, it was pretty much like supermarket sushi, often haphazardly cut, as if a butter knife was used. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Rice app both visits--6 pieces of crispy rice topped with tuna, yellowtail and salmon and jalapeno slices. The fish are indistinguishable from each other, the black pepper soy sauce cloying, and some of the rice crisped to burnt. I did two noodle dishes--shrimp yakisoba and seafood diablo (scallops, calamari and shrimp with udon in a spicy sauce). Both came with onion soup, salad, steamed rice and sauteed veggies (zucchini and onions). The shrimp yakisoba was decent, although the shrimp were smallish and probably frozen. I asked for less spice on the seafood diablo, but it still packed a punch. The shrimp were the same, the scallops were quartered but tasted like scallops. The calamari, however, were large hacked-up pieces with a texture like a faux seafood item a vegan would order (texturized vegetable protein). There were no tentacle pieces. There were a lot of yellow bell peppers plus some mushrooms and frozen corn. I do like the Benihana Lemonades, available in 4 flavours, refills included. Overall a slightly better and less depressing experience compared to years past. A HUGE shout out to my server for both visits, Alaast, who is actually one of Benihana's supervisors. She was also the hostess my second time, and the bartender and lounge server both times, and seemingly a back waiter at the teppanyaki tables as needed. Service in the lounge in the past has ranged from meh to non-existent, so Alaast is a great asset. I may try Happy Hour here one day, although it's hard to beat the HH at Cheesecake Factory next door.
