    House sushi roll

Everything was delicious however the burrito was very small compared to shouyou or buredo. I was still hungry after so just be mindful if you do get the burrito or bento as well. But other than that I would give this place a 4/5 star.

The sushi was amazing!! Incredibly fresh and still warm. The portions were huge for incredible prices and it made it such a luxurious and pleasant experience. I was very excited being able to order the king salmon and salmon belly as well. The gyoza I got were also great! Unfortunately, the chicken katsu was only okay. The meat was on the tougher and thinner side but the rice was good. Overall, however, the sushi was so good that I'm very willing to overlook the chicken katsu.

Yum yum yum! I looked on Yelp as I was craving Japanese & found this place. I ordered the poke bowl with eel, salmon, cream cheese, shrimp & absolutely everything I love about Japanese food!!! It was delicious! My hubby ordered 3 diff types of rolls: Damascus roll & something else & Summer roll to go! It was all very good. His rolls weren't that big, but it was good! Service was quick and efficient. Will be back!

This place is kind of pricey. Ive gotten pokie bowl #3 twice and it was ok. This is $19 ish too expensive..

Volcano, Spicy Tuna w/crunch, Philly, Damascus and Mexico rolls. All so yum.

I love sushi and am so glad I have a new go-to spot for it (less expensive than my original go-to spot in Mt Airy). Been here only twice...both times with my sister and sleeping 2 month old daughter. Given that they were weekday afternoons we were the only ones in the restaurant however people did come in to carry out. The sushi is reasonably priced but still very fresh and good. We ordered the same rolls both times... Volcano Roll, Damascus Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and the Jalapeno Roll. Maybe I'll pick some sushi up tomorrow after getting my nails done at Mimi's

The cashier had me enter my phone number on the display screen, to be part of their loyalty program. I was provided with a napkin and chop sticks. Disappointed with the quality from my most recent visit to Sushi Friends…read more I've been to Sushi Friends a few times now since they reopened New Grand. It's always been just okay not the best sushi, but a quick way to satisfy cravings. Today, however, was really disappointing. I ordered a nigiri set, which was fine, but the spicy tuna roll was inedible. I've never not been able to finish something before, and to have paid for it made it worse. The roll didn't look great from the start, and I should have not gotten it, but from previous times it's always been fine so I thought. The rice was super soggy and sticky, almost with a peanut butter-like consistency, which made it hard to even eat--it just stuck to the inside of my mouth. It was also too sour on top of that. The tuna filling was sparse, and I ended up only eating the tuna part out of guilt I really cannot believe the chef who made this thought it was okay to serve this. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't think I'll be returning.

We got lucky and got there at 5 pm and were seated right away. Soup (onion and mushroom) and salad (with ginger dressing) were included. I recommend to get the fried rice even if it is just for the show. Proteins ordered were steak, chicken, shrimp and scallops. The ribeye was a bit too fatty for my tastes so might not get that cut next time. Grilled veggies are my favorite. Since all is cooked in front of you, everything was cooked perfectly. Bathrooms were very clean. It can get pretty loud in the dinning room but that is part of the experience. My kids were captured by all the people watching. We will be returning.

I ordered the filet mignon and chicken combo with fried rice and the shrimp as my appetizer. Everything was delicious. The filet mignon was a tad overcooked to me even though I asked for medium rare. Next time I will ask for rare. I shouldn't be, but I am always in disbelief when I see the menu prices nowadays. It is expensive to dine out in general. Our server was slow and service could have been better but it was her first day. She refilled my husband's cup of soda and it was on the brink of overflowing. Also, I asked for extra napkins, which were never brought out. I had to ask another server who was clearing our table. Our teppanyanki chef was fun and awesome. He was entertaining. My favorite time was when he threw the shrimp at each of us and we tried to catch them in our mouths. All my family members caught it on their first try, but it took me literally eight times before I caught my first one. I would definitely like to dine here more frequently, but it is too expensive so it will be reserved only for special occasions. One safety concern I had was that the fire alarm cover in the women's restroom was detached. That should be a high priority to have that fixed. Also, one of the stalls in the women's restroom was out of order. I had to wait a while as the other stall was occupied. Note that they charge 18% gratuity for parties of four or more regardless of separate checks.

He walked us through the menu with confidence, offered thoughtful suggestions, and checked in at all the right times. What really stood out was how naturally he connected with our table--warm, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Andrew's service is what made the evening truly memorable. We'll definitely be asking for him again. **Onassis** Dining here is always fun, but Onassis brought the experience to another level. He had an easygoing, welcoming presence that made our table feel comfortable right away. His recommendations were spot on, and he made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish without ever feeling overbearing. You could tell he takes pride in what he does--he was attentive, detail-oriented, and always one step ahead. The entire meal felt seamless because of him. Outstanding service that we'll be talking about long after the meal. **Luis** Luis delivered the kind of service that turns a great meal into something special. He was incredibly attentive and intuitive, making sure we had everything we needed before we even had to ask. He took the time to guide us through options, answered every question with patience, and made us feel completely taken care of throughout the night. His calm, friendly demeanor made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was fantastic, but Luis is the reason we'll be coming back--and specifically requesting his section.

We explained that this was our first time here and we said we would have the lunch hotpot/bbq. That was basically the last time we saw our server. He didn't tell us about the appetizer bar, which I fortunately knew about from the web site. We ordered on the iPad and the food came remarkably quickly, delivered by kitchen personnel. At another KPot, the dishes for hot pot and bbq are different colors, and here they don't do that - so we had to remember which mushrooms, meats and vegis we ordered for hot pot and which for bbq. The appetizer bar in the back has a variety of apps (kimchi, pickled veggies, noodles), some fruit and a variety of sauces. As I said, the food came quickly and was quite good. We enjoyed everything except for the spicy fish (for the bbq). Neither one of us liked the spicy flavor - it wasn't too spicy, just didn't like it. The chicken and beef bulgogis were good and the veggies were good grilled and in the pot. The place is nice and there's a sizable bar. Although a number of workers appeared to be working conscientiously, we got terrible service. Our particular server never came to the table to check on us even though he was walking around. He spent much of the meal sitting at the bar. We had to ask twice to have our water glasses filled by other Staff. Our server never came by to change out the grill top, which I've never experienced before. I actually thought about asking for a different server. The food and ambience are good. Because of our service situation (which was really disappointing), I'm struggling with giving the restaurant 4 stars (I would have given 5 with good service). This type of meal depends on good, caring service that we've gotten at other hot pot/bbq places in the area. Because of this disappointment, I don't expect I'll be back here again.
