I live nearby and come here often. Phenomenal sushi, great service when dining in. Their yummy bowl is amazing, though only offered for to go service. That being said, I had one negative experience in which I placed a to go order, was told the wait was over an hour, and arrived an hour later to be told I had cancelled my order. When I arrived at the resturant, I was asked my name, given a blank stare, and promptly ignored for 15 minutes. When I asked for assistance and repeated my order, I was told I had cancelled it, which I certainly had not. It was disappointing, however the servers were very busy and clearly overwhelmed and miscommunications happen. Every other time I have been here I have received excellent service and the amazing food keeps me coming back despite my negative experience. read more

Came here after a nice hike. It was empty in the restaurant but the service was amazing. The 2 owners were very nice. The food was incredibly fresh. I got the spicy tuna wrapped in cucumber (no rice). It was so good. The other regular rolls were excellent as well. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. This truly is a hidden gem. I've driven by and didn't know it was there until I had some physical therapy! I've never eaten there, I've only gotten takeout, but it's amazing. I understand the 5 star rating, even if I can't quite get there. Highlights were service, freebies (including a pumpkin soup, california roll from a choice of rolls, and ginger tea), and the excellent miso soup. The selections for the bento box were awesome, including the delicious shrimp tempura and veggie gyoza. However, the sushi was not the best ever, and the shrimp teriyaki was not great. Loved the friendly staff, and there's a beautiful selection of jewelry on display for purchase when you walk in as well, many pieces handcrafted by the owner's wife. This is the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. The owners are husband and wife and they are the nicest people. You can tell that they really care about costumer satisfaction and it certainly shows. Their sushi is delicious and they have many options, vegetarian rolls, rice free rolls along with many others. Their specialty rolls are very creative and tasty! The also offer "special" rolls for the day. The ocean dream roll is my current favorite. I was in the area for an appointment and wanted to get a quick dinner. I ordered shumai, tuna/avocado roll & yellow tail roll. While I waited for the appetizer, the owner gave me a small bowl of their pumpkin soup to try. It was OMG amazing. I ate every last drop. The shumai were very fresh and tasty. The rolls were large, cut into 8 pieces. As I was eating the rolls, the owner again came to me with two additional pieces of sushi to try. After finishing my meal, which was wonderful, the owner again surprised me with a small cup of ginger/cinnamon tea which was semi-frozen, like a small slushy. So good... I will definitely visit here again the next time I am in the area. The price was great and in line with the other sushi restaurants I have visited. read more

For Sushi snobs this place works. Japanese owned and operated. Sashimi was great. They gave me pumpkin soup and two pieces of excellent yellowtail on the house. Ginger dressing was home made and excellent. They finish with complimentary frozen cinnamon tea. I don't know how they wound up in Haskell. The sushi is excellent-the service not so much. The problem isn't the actual service per se, but a lack of it. They just seem to be completely overwhelmed and need to perhaps hire an additional person to simply bus tables for them. The woman who typically takes orders and clears tables can only do so much, she does not have 8 arms!! I appreciate their need to keep things small. However, the past two times I have been here with my family on a Friday night around 5-6:00, we were seated then waited 30-40 minutes just to place our order and receive our drinks. For a party of three to wait over an hour to receive our meal was just silly. There are a lot of great things about this place such as the little extras you receive with your entree, however I just cannot bear to wait that long again, in Haskell no less. read more

This is my sushi place. Everyone who likes sushi has one and this is mine. They are so sweet and the experience is always wonderful.

I've been to this place twice because it's convenient nearby, granted I only did take out but both times disappointed in the food. The last time I stopped in they had a sign up that said noodle bowls and rice bowls. I ordered one of each the noodle bowl I ordered shrimp, and The Rice Bowl I ordered beef and broccoli. I literally got 6 pieces of beef. 6 spoon size pieces of beef and it didn't even taste like beef. I threw that away and ate the rice and broccoli. The noodle bowl was very good although the shrimp were the very mini shrimps. And small piles of nicely chopped vegetables. And then the next day I realized that both bowls had rice in them I didn't get any noodles. So I spent 20 bucks for a little tiny pile of shrimp 6 pieces of meat a lot of rice and some vegetables, I'm probably not going back. The couple seems very nice and the restaurant is beautiful but I'm afraid how much it would cost to sit and eat there. read more

This place was good when it first came in, but under the new management it's excellent. They have photos of their customers all over the walls, the food is delicious and they give you free pumpkin soup while you wait or sometimes even a free sushi roll to try! You can also sign up to get emails about new rolls or specials they have going on, and when my birthday came I was pleasantly surprised to get a card in the mail from them which a five dollar off coupon. The warm and friendly service cannot be beat and I always look forward to going there to eat. read more
