I'm not a big fan of sushi so I cannot tell you how the sushi here compares to other places. I will say that the lunch/dinner menu prices are pretty fare. We came in a large group, so I can see where the placement of food can get confusing. The majority of our orders were placed right in the middle. No one really knew what food was what, but that didn't matter as much. It allowed all of us to try from many different plates. Our server was attentive and accommodating to our big party. I think my favorite dish would be the spicy crab hand roll. Oh, and the green tea ice cream. Yes, the green tea ice cream would be the highlight of my experience. Lol. I came here a few times with my husband for the all you can eat dinner. It is the closet sushi place for us at the right price. Food: Great variety and perfect portion for an all you can eat. When I go to an all you can eat, I'm there to try everything(or however much food I can hold). I find some places will give you too much food and will charge for any food wasted. The the salmon teriyaki was undercooked every single order and was not cooked crispy at all even when I asked for it to be cooked crispy. The chicken teriyaki we ordered tasted like it was reheated. Beef teriyaki had a smell like it was going bad. All the teriyakis in general barely had any sauce on it making it taste plain and dry. The Sushi are the only items that was ok. Tokyo Sushi was a good place to fill up on sushi. Going with The Husband and BFF meant that we got to sample a bunch of sushi all at once (I would highly recommend this strategy). Our server was very kind, friendly, and took good care of us. She was, however, a little quiet for an echoey restaurant. Upside, the sushi was delicious. My favorite was the eel cucumber roll. I was stoked to see this place open up so close to my house. I used to drive to Roseville to Kyoto. Tokyo Sushi didn't let me down. Fresh sashimi, even if the cuts were a little smaller than Kyoto. We went for unlimited sushi! If you live in the Brooklyn Park/Champlin/Blaine Area this is great. I love sushi so knowing that there is a location for unlimited sushi, I had to go. We were seated pretty quickly. Waitress was very attentive made sure our water was filled if we needed anything which was extremely nice. With the unlimited all you can eat you can order anything off the menu and you can eat as many rounds as you would like, but make sure you order enough as you go because they do charge if you have leftovers. My friends and I ordered a bunch of different things like Shrimp Tempura, Gyoza, Edamame, sushi rolls, chicken katsu, sashimi, miso soup, and green tea icecream. Great FOOD! I went here last Sunday for the Lunch All You Can Eat Buffet w/a few friends. My favorite entree is the tempura. I must have about 6-7pieces of tempura. The chicken teryaki is really good. Chicken wings are so good. Shrimp and Chicken Tempura...Awesome and so crispy. Yum! This was my first visit at this restaurant. I'm definitely going back soon. Akita is basically the same type of restaurant. They're all named after cities in Japan (Akita, Tokyo). We tend to forget to come to this All You Can Eat Sushi restaurant, but we need to remember to come here more often. They have the chicken cutlet on the menu and it's a favorite of one of our kids who does not like to eat sushi. Today's favorite roll for the husband and I was the Out of Control Roll. The waitress was also attentive all night. With the unlimited sushi deal, you are able to order ANYTHING off the menu that they provide you, in multiple rounds, so you really get your money's worth. We started off with the tempura combo, gyoza, and crunchy roll. Overall, their sushi is really good, but my favorite roll is the sweet crab roll- the tempura shrimp just goes really well with the mango sauce and crab on top! I also ordered off their kitchen special section and the salt and pepper shrimp is a must try! That was also one of my favorite dishes. I was also expecting their ice cream to be so-so because most AYCE places have okay desserts but I was actually pretty impressed by their mango and green tea flavors! My fiancé also really enjoyed his strawberry ice cream. Tokyo sushi is a must try. Their AYCE lunch menu is significantly cheaper, and while you don't get to choose from as many things, it is still worth it imo! When the wife and I came here after its opening everything was great. Food was amazing. Over time things started to go down hill. Bad fish in the rolls, stagnant broth in the miso. Servers either dont take all of your order, do not return to the table for long periods of time or never bring your food. At first I thought it was due to the fact the place can get busy.
