I can't stop raving about this bakery! Everything they make is good, no great! In the mood for something sweet? They have an array of cookies, tarts, and rolls, all fresh and all under $5. My family swears by their pies for the holidays which are very reasonably prices for how large and delicious they are. Their cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls are found in our house every Christmas morning as well. I also love that they give a $1 off discount on espresso (Mon - Fri only). If sweets are your thing they make a mean sandwich. Not only is it huge, you could definitely split it with someone, the meat is high quality (as in turkey, from a real turkey. None of this sliced stuff). If you find yourself in the little town of Sandy or driving through it I implore you to stop and treat yourself to one of their culinary delights! The cannoli is my favorite. The service is friendly and quality of baked goods outstanding. Prices are average to a little pricey but if you get a few things they give a discount. read more

The cannoli is always amazing. I don't like cannoli from anywhere else. Here it's like cream-filled Almond Roca; so yummy. I've had the Reese's muffin a couple of times, but it always tastes different. They have a good variety of things, so I love to stop by when I am passing through Sandy. read more

Well, I have liked their sandwiches in the past, but today was a bit eventful. Bottom line: I found 2 long blondish HAIRS in my turkey sandwich! At the counter, they said, oh I'm sorry. This place was awesome. 95 out and looking for a place that accommodated kids and a dog. Asked inside if dogs were allowed on the porch seating and she said absolutely as long as we cleaned up if she made a mess (glad they say that as many do not which ruin it for the masses). She was great with the order, accommodating picky eaters and with our bakery items as well. She even gave a small cup for water for our dog. When she brought our sandwiches out she had made the half of my sandwich, that I asked for with nothing on it but ham, as its own plate cut in half with some olives and pickles on the side. It was so very thoughtful and perfect. It was like my daughter got her very own meal and wasn't just splitting it with mommy. The service and attitude just blew me away. And the sandwiches were phenomenal. If it were more local I'd be here all the time for sandwiches, baked goods, iced coffee and cute little gifties as needed. This place is a real gem! read more

A few years ago i would have recommended the Toll Gate Bakery to anybody. How ever after our recent experience with them, has changed our minds. Not only was my grandsons special order cake not even close to what was ordered it looked horrible! When we complained the manager shrug'd it off as a lack of communication and how you cant make black frosting umm its every where........ ( The order was via E-mail with pictures, color specs..Bakers response was no problem we can do that) All we were offered the day of the party only and hour before.. We will give you back half your money.... Now they say in a gift card?!! We could have gotten twice the product looked better and tasted better from the local box store... I'm utterly shocked the bakery has gone down hill that much... To top it off the vanilla cupcakes were over cooked, dry and hard..... We had tried to eat here about ten years ago. We waited for about half an hour to order, then waited an hour and never received our food so we left and swore we would never come back. Well, last Sunday morning, we decided to give them another try. BIG MISTAKE. We had a party of six and we were seated fairly quickly, so we thought that was a good sign. Wrong again. After waiting for about 15 minutes we finally stopped a waitress and asked for a cup of coffee. When she brought it, she reached through us to set it down instead of coming around to the end of the table. She took our order then. When she brought our food, she did not use a tray and the plates were obviously too heavy for her (her arm was shaking from the weight). She almost dumped a plate of food in my daughter's lap (again reaching through us instead of from the end of the table) and set her glass of orange juice on a knife laying on the table and almost dumped the OJ. She did dump some of the strawberry juice from strawberry pancakes onto my husband's order of regular pancakes and seemed irritated that he wanted a new pancake because he doesn't like strawberries. When he finally received his new pancake, it was raw on the inside. All in all, I will not give them another opportunity, nor will I recommend them to anyone. Personally, I think the only reason they are busy is because they get the skiers/boarders headed up to the mountain not neighborhood business. read more
