If I could rate this shit hole zero stars I would. I brought in my CLASSIC 1975 LeMans just for it to be in worse condition than when we brought it in. They didn't even have the decency to cover my car, and it was COVERED in bird shit, and they cracked my windshield and were adamant that I would cover the repair. The owner Bob Guild was extremely rude and sexist, laughing at me and being smug and not taking me seriously. Needless to say they aren't getting any of my money and we are taking our business elsewhere. They abused my car and absolutely have ZERO respect for customers and their property, and still expected me to pay $200 for the 2 hours of labor (they did literally nothing to the car) before we tow our car out to another shop. read more

I was fortunate enough to have a flat tire close to Tolland Citgo. The owner & staff were quick, efficient and extremely thorough in repairing my tire, checking all other tires/tire sensors and even had 1 sensor get delivered from the town over in less than 1/2 hr and replaced it. They also did a quick overall check, found a brake light out which was also replaced, all for a VERY reasonable cost. I will bring my car back here for other repairs! Came here for an emissions test and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The young lady, Toni, who preformed my test was speedy, friendly, extremely thorough in explaining why I didn't pass (to no fault of hers) and answering all of my questions. Seemed like they don't have enough help as it was extremely busy and I only saw two employees, but they managed the crowd very well. I stopped at Tolland Citgo under less than ideal circumstances, on a Saturday, with a red dashboard light that strongly suggested I get myself off the highway. First stop off the exit was randomly at the Sunoco station; they directed me to Tolland Citgo since they didn't have a mechanic on duty. My problem was correctly diagnosed as a failing alternator. They took care to confirm the right replacement part, which through no fault of theirs wouldn't arrive until Monday morning. They called a cab, we went to the Hartford bus station and headed back to Boston. Communication was great. We connected on Monday morning and they confirmed that the part arrived and was being installed. Before noon, they were done, the car was road tested, and was ready for pickup. I retraced my steps on Tuesday morning. No surprises and the bill was exactly what the estimate said it would be. read more

On April 7,2018 I stopped into Tolland Citgo because my front tire was going flat. I went in to ask if some one could look at my tire and possibly put air in it.The young lady told me I needed to do it myself. I asked where it was and could someone show me. She through her arms up in the air and raised her voice at to me telling me that I was a " liability " loud enough so every one there could hear. She embarrassed me and said " you'll probably blow the damn thing up " . She stomped through the garage and started putting air in my tire. I told her I could take it from there. She said the tire wasn't holding air and that the tread on ALL my tires were illegal to be driven.She then said I needed four new tires and she should't let me drive out. I drove my car to the side of the building and waited to see if my tire held the air and it did. I drove out of the station and went to the Gulf station. A very respectful mechanic looked at my tire and said it probably had a slow leak but it looked fine . I asked him how the tread on my tires were and he said " you can probably get through the summer with them" .Went home and of course told this story to the 12 guest that came over that evening. We needed to get the emission test done on the same vehicle. My husband brought it in,had the test done and asked the young man how the tires were. He told him they had about 3000 miles on the fronts and the rears 5000. Hmmm,??? Why just a few days before did the young lady ( your manager) tell me that I needed four NEW tires and she shouldn't let me leave !?? This brings us to today. My husband and I went back to your station to get the emissions test done on our Crossfire that we bought out of state.The young lady ( your manager ) told us that we needed to have an out of state registration in order to have it tested. My husband explained that the dealer from where we purchased the vehicle had provided all the necessary documents to get it registered in the state of Connecticut. The young lady( your manager) Told us she shouldn't let us out on the street because our car was illegal ! Hmmmmmm,where have I heard that before!After much argument, she reluctantly agreed to use the title as proof of ownership.At this point I was very frustrated by the treatment that my husband and I received and thus reminded the young lady that she should perhaps reinforce her people skills;to which she retorted that she cold refuse us service by law.At this point,we decided to take our paper work elsewhere. We took our car to another emissions station located in Mansfield,Connecticut .We were warmly greeted and informed that all that was required was a VIN number to perform the test. The poor treatment that my husband and I received will not be forgotten. We have been customers for twenty years purchasing gasoline and services. Bought a car here, owner failed to disclose transmission problems. Said car idled high because that was the hybrid electric engine. He said his warranty would cover any needed repairs. When I went back to him 2 weeks later with $2600 bill for transmission repairs, he said he wouldn't cover it. This owner is unscrupulous, he let me drive away in a very unsafe vehicle. read more

This service station has always been incredibly helpful whenever I've gone there for work. Professional and courteous. My last visit involved a flat tire on a Saturday. This was at 3:30 PM when the service part of the station should have been closed at 1 PM. The mechanic was still there as he had been helping people out overtime all afternoon and he cheerfully stayed even later to fix my flat and put air in all my other tires. read more

I got out off the Highway with smoke coming out from the motor, underneath and the back of my car, after a couple of stops, I end up at Tolland Citgo, they help me out a lot!, checked my car, and told me it was to dangerous to drive it like that. This was on a saturday at 12:30 pm, the garage it's supposed to close at 1pm, but they didn't hesitate to help me, I left my car there over the weekend, rented a car to come back home (Norwalk), with a promise from Citgo, to bring someone to take a better look at my car the next monday, sure enough Monday 9:05am, they called to explain what was really wrong with my car! AND went out their way calling my car dealership and suggesting me what to do next!!!!! I would not go there again. They did not return my son's registration when he went in for an emissions test. We called repeatedly asking them to look for it. They said they searched for it, but it wasn't there and they were sure they returned it to him. A week later they called to say they had it. I understand things happen and they forgot to return it to him. They should have just apologized and offered us a $20 gas card for the time and expense of replacing the registration. Instead they were so nasty, claiming my son had left it on the counter and it had been there all week. What? How could it have been on the counter all week? If they moved it how could they tell us twice that they searched everywhere and it was not there. Extremely nasty, and the place is small, dark and dirty to boot. read more

Do NOT give this place your time or money. I was on the phone with the owner talking about a car for sale and he, "put me on hold." As soon as he thought I couldn't hear him talking, he started talking sh*t about me to the person next to him and I heard every single world. I did not deserve it and I am NOT happy about this. There's nothing worse than a person who is nice to you directly and very rude behind your back. Especially to somebody he does not know. Just had the best car buying experience at this place!! The car is fantastic and the process from test drive to purchase was seamless. Being novice to everything about cars, I was nervous buying a used car from a smaller car dealership, but there was no need to worry!
