I brought my car here at the recommendation of my brother in law. I had one tire that kept losing air and, sure enough, there was a screw in that tire. I walked up to the front desk of this business and the gentleman that assisted me was very nice. He asked me to show him the tire in question. After seeing the location of the screw he said that they should be able to patch it. He took my keys and brought the car around back to start the work. I sat in the waiting area in a comfortable chair. It smelled like tires in there of course and there was sports talk playing on the tv. I noticed there was a video of the cars being worked on in the shop. I played on my phone and about 10 minutes later I was told the guy in the shop read the instructions wrong and took off the wrong tire. Weird... So my car was being brought back around to the shop. I was tired of the tire smell so I got up and sat outside on a bench to get some fresh air. The correct tire was patched quickly and I was charged $7.xx and was on my way. I will definitely return as they treated me fairly and I felt pretty comfortable as a woman here. While traveling from VA to NH, we had a tire blowout that left us stranded on I-84 with my 93 yr old mother. The blown tire was specialized to Town Fair and after googling a nearby location, and putting on the spare, arrived here and they quickly replaced our tire and helped us add all of our luggage back in the car! Don't get taken in with thier "free" services like tire rotation. They claim you need an appointment or wait hours when it's a ghost town. And appointment means "drop your vehicle off for the day" for something that takes less than 10 minutes for 1 person and a lift. I had a great experience with Steve and the guys at the Vernon Town Fair Tire store. I needed to replace 2 tires and after speaking with Steve and going over the many options and discounts that were currently available, I received a fabulous price on 4 high quality all weather tires for my VW Tiguan. The work was completed in a timely fashion and the car was kept very clean and I could watch the progress on the screen which I thought was excellent. In addition, my husband had a screw in one of his truck tires and Steve was able to fix this quickly without an appointment even though they were very busy. ~ ONE-LINE SUMMARY ~ Good, fast (with appointment), knowledgeable assistance, cheaper than Sears & PepBoys was going to be, and 99 Restaurant is easily walk-able, should you want food or a pint (or several) while waiting. ~ A BIT MORE DETAILED ~ Just bought 4 new tires here, and the salesman (Chris) was very helpful, and the whole experience was light years better than my trip to PepBoys the day before. He seemed very knowledgeable about the products, and was able to talk intelligently about various brands and styles. After discussing and looking at the tires side by side, I agreed the ones he recommended were better. They were also more money, but he marked them down to the price of the ones I came in wanting. I also liked that you can walk around and actually see ALL the tires closeup. My only negative comment would be that balancing isn't included in the pricing. Granted all tire places have their own little gimmicks, but how many people really opt for not getting their new tires balanced? Seems like that should be in the price, and then discounted if you don't need it. All in all, however, I ended up spending less than I would have elsewhere. read more

Don't offer appointments if you don't have a way to track and keep them. I purchased my tires on their website and scheduled an appointment for 9:00 AM, my vehicle didn't go into the garage until after 10:00 AM, and the customer-traffic was light. A person with a 9:30 AM appointment was in and out before me. They said they allocate 90-minutes per vehicle, which is reasonable, but they have no way of scheduling the appointments properly. I didn't get my vehicle until 11:15 AM. Their corporate pricing is reasonable, but this place is not managed properly. read more

Have to say went there on Thursday 12.11.18 had a another absolutely positive experience with the crew there. I've never had any issues at all at this location. I see some nasty reviews on here and shake my head. Unfortunately my guess is the customer didn't want to hear truth and got upset because it wasn't free. I will start off with the positives - there is an employee there named Herb that works the front desk and he is great - very helpful, knowledgeable, and has really good customer service skills. He has always helped me out. For the negative it's the technicians in the back - I brought my 2018 Civic type R there for new tires - I've come to realize that these guys really should handle anything but basic rental cars - my fault for trusting them with a type r. during the tire installation they damages one of my wheels and were really great in the fact that they were going to purchase another wheel which I was okay with as they are owning up to their mistake - long story short I discovered after I did my own tire rotation that the "new" rim they ordered and installed was a cheap Chinese knock off which, at closer inspection was even a different spec than the OEM wheel - I brought it back and they got me a OEM spec but refurbished wheel - the color does not match the others- I didn't felt like going back again (lesson learned for me) - I do realize that these wheels are about 800$ a piece but I just dealt with it. I took out the tire protection insurance and got a nail in my tire - so I brought just the wheel back to them because I don't want them driving my car anymore - they said they need to order a new tire because it was not repairable - so they did - when I picked it up I inspected it and the balance weight was placed over the old spot where it was over the older adhesive - I could wiggle the weight around and it was very flimsy and about to fall off - during my next car wash a power washer could easily remove the weight - I asked the tech why would you not remove the old adhesive before adding the weight back - he just said that's where the computer told me to put it and that if it falls off I can bring it back - I told him I don't want to come back - he could care less about my issue with this - again he probably does a really good job on rental cars - and that's about it. By removing all the old adhesive before applying a new weight especially to the SAME spot is the attention to detail I am looking for in a tire service - moral of the story - this town fair tire is your typical fast in and out rental car status place where the techs don't pay any attention to detail and shouldn't be working on expensive or immaculate cars - like who does not remove the adhesive from where the old weights were and places another weight over the old adhesive - it looks really bad - I am in search of another tire place now who will treat my car/wheels as if I were doing the work myself - even though I brought the tire warranty I won't return to use it- lesson learned on my part - hope this helps someone out on making an informed decision - good luck. read more

I was treated so poorly here at a time of need. I was traveling alone on the highway headed back to Massachusetts after visiting my son. I had my two front run flat tires replaced at a location in Falmouth, MA the day before. When I had a startling noise erupt in the front end while traveling down the highway it sounded as if I blew a tire. It was a flapping sound of rubber and I could feel it hitting/slamming the frame of the car. I immediately remembered the nice guys who took care of me in Falmouth telling me there were Town Fair Tire locations all through CT and if I had any problems at all to stop in and they'd help me. This thought was so comforting when this happened. I put my hazards on and drove off the next exit and called the customer service number on my paperwork from the day before. The girl on the phone was so nice, she suggested the closest location being in Vernon CT and to set my gps to no highways and drive there to get helped. I was worried not knowing what was happening and if I was causing more damage. I had a difficult time finding this Vernon location, I drove around a couple times as the gps kept telling me it was on my left and I feared maybe it no longer existed. My stress level rose and I called back customer service, she reassured me it was there. I found it!! What a relief, I walked in with the thoughts of meeting guys like the ones in Falmouth who are so kind and knowledgeable only to be very disappointed. I was greeted at the desk by a young man who would not, and never did make eye contact with me. I was distressed and he could have cared less. He smirked and dismissed my claim of a "noise" ... he kept being very clear that I would wait 2 hrs before any chance of even getting this diagnosed. I don't ever expect special treatment, only fairness, I was not at all treated well at this location. I kept waiting for someone else to notice our exchange and offer me some help in a stressful time. With thinking it was a tire that had JUST been replaced the day before by this company I hoped for so much more. When he clearly time and time again alluded to my not being able to get any answers for hours, I reluctantly asked if there were other Town Fair locations in the area. He suggested one in Manchester. He called to ask about wait times there and sarcastically mentioned the "noise" I was referring to. I was dismissed and disrespected here, I left very upset and discouraged. I drove slowly once again back roads to the Manchester location with Bob on the other end of the phone with a welcoming voice and reassuring positive attitude that I knew I'd be taken care of there and I was (see 5 star review!) Your young man at the desk in your Vernon CT location needs some training. He was terrible. I've had nothing but positive experiences with your company until that moment. read more

Went to Town Fair today with a blown out tire with 4k miles on it. Town fair tells me NO kumho Solus in stock for me when it was possible warranty. None in East Htfd either. Then they say I have to buy one and miraculously there IS one to buy! its a Christmas MIRACLE! I called Kumho tires warranty #. Jessica says they were supposed to measure tread to see if covered. I called the town fair back, the manager's not in. Spoke to another very nice gentleman who is going to look for my tire now...and call back within 30 mins or so. I told him take his time... I appreciate it... Per Jessica @ Kumho I dont need claim # OR authorization with such low mileage... Town fair does paperwork and get reimbursed then they reimburse me. The gentleman called back from Vernon town fair at 240pm to tell me the tire i dropped off at 10 and called about at 1 went out and tire people already picked it up so there's nothing I can do about a claim. Hmmm. Well I guess that could be. but it still doesnt explain them telling me theres NO ROAD HAZARD on Kumhos when ANOTHER town fair AND Kumho told me differently. I was told the work on my car would have priority because I had made the appointment; what a joke. Per HUGO the managers request, here is my review. Went in for shaking in the front end. Told me I had a slightly bent rim, but proceeded to balance both front tires. Problem not solved. He then told me I had a tire out of round and possibly two that were bad. The location of tires and bent rim were in the wrong location as I purchased a rim and had a bad feeling about this place. Took my vehicle to TIRE CITY in East Hartford and they swapped out the rim for $15 in the correct location with no additional tires needed. Tires matching comes with a hitch, $10 mounting fee per tire that is added to competition price, this is in addition to the 18 installation fee per tire they charge. Everyone else does not charge the additional $10 per tire. Also, walmart charges $12 a tire, with free lifetime rotation and balancing. Ended buying elsewhere for less. read more

Hugo went the extra mile for me and checked every possible resource to ensure that I could leave that same day with a new pair of rims that matched my budget and style . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. POOR SERVICE. FALSE ADVERTISING. I am very disappointed with the service I have received at this Town Fair Tire store and from their Corporate Customer Service department. I went to buy a set of four high-end Michelin tires and wanted them to beat the competitor's price for like services as advertised. The tires were not in stock and had to be ordered. Likewise, the competitor had to order the tires. The sales man insisted I had to pay $60 extra for shipping. Their website indicates that shipping to Town Fair Tire stores is FREE. I gave him three chances to work with me over three days. He didnt call back as promised two times on two different days. He would not did he budge on the shipping fee. Clearly, it is false advertising. I have been a past customer of Town Fair Tire a number of times. Last time I had trouble having Town Fair honor a manufacturer's warranty. There service has gone down hill. They show no interest in helping customer so they walk away satisfied. Town Fair Tire made no effort to earn my business or reinstill my confidence in them. There are plenty of other retailers and online outlets who sell tires choices and installers. I found better service and lower prices elsewhere. read more

Hugo told me if I made an appointment they would be able to get me in and out quickly. Ok...Made an appointment for the following Saturday at 9:30am....got here at 9:10am and was told by Hugo again it would be at least a two hour wait because of other appointments ahead of me??????? Recently went to Town Fair Tire in Vernon and it wasn't that bad. I read the review made by the other person and their definitely is a wait so I took that into account. They said it would take about 2 hours but it actually took 3 hours so whatever. Expect a wait so bring a book if you plan on waiting ! Amazing staff and thorough work. I can't express how blown away I am with this Town Fair Tire location. Chris, Justin and Miguel all were super helpful and thorough. They even took the time to explain and walk me through what I truly needed. They even showed me! I bought all new tires and wheels at an another location (in another state where I live) and they did a poor job... This Town Fair Tire instantly spotted the issues done incorrectly and ordered what I needed. Importantly- they spotted that I needed another piece to repair my car (outside of what they do) and my car was clearly unsafe to drive. I brought my car to get fixed at a location nearby this Town Fair Tire and right after, brought it back to see Chris, Justin and Miguel. They spotted that the new repair wasn't fixed properly and I had to bring it back. Isn't that messed up?! Right after, I came back and Town Fair Tire and they confirmed that it was fixed and did an alignment. If you are getting work done on your tires/wheel and know that you would need an alignment or if you need an alignment come here!!! Watch out if you decide to go to this place!!!! I went online the night before and entered in my vehicle specs, picked out the same tires that was currently on my truck and was given a price which was acceptable to me. I went to the Vernon store on Monday morning to be given a quote of $38 dollars a tire more so I comment that the website indicated a lower price only to be told that it's the incorrect tire for my truck. How it's it my fault that their website picks a cheaper tire well it isn't but that is how they scam you with the oldest trick in sales the BAIT & SWITCH. I spent 10 minutes arguing that it's their responsibility to honor their online price, was told that the best they could do was come down $15 a tire. The manager steps in to help Hugo trying to explain to be that it's my responsibility to know what tires my truck needs. Brian finally tells Hugo to sell me the tires at the online price only after I raised my voice and expose the BAIT & SWITCH scam to the other customers. Unfortunately I agreed and was treated to unfriendly customer service by Hugo twice more during the day. My last complaint was that when I returned to pick up my truck I found it left unlocked in the rear lot. Fortunately nothing was missing but when I mentioned this to Hugo that I guess that I should have requested that my vehicle be kept secure he says that they don't lock them as a policy for their protection. ? ? That makes no sense at all. The worst part is that to get my value I will be forced to deal with this place during "free tire rotations" and if I decide to run the winter tires. read more

You must have your snow tires mounted on a separate set of wheels; they'll take off the wheels with summer tires and put on the wheels with winter tires. They will NOT remove summer tires from your wheels and mount/balance snow tires back on those same wheels without charging you at least $60 OK service, but be prepared to wait a long time. read more
