Came here after work to grab some pizza. They sell by the slice and it was pretty busy, so a few options were out while they were restocking. I ordered 3 slices to eat there and 3 to go. Tried the Notorious SMG, Primo, Miss Green, and the Grandma. My favorites were definitely the Grandma and the Primo. The slices tasted better fresh in store. The ones I took home got a little soggy toward the front, but the flavor was still on point. The slices are around $4 each which isn't bad, and they're a decent size with a thin crust. Overall I enjoyed it and would come back. Next time I want to try the square pies.

Pro tip: parking is a little hard to find, but is there in back. Place is much larger than appears from the front. Took us a while to figure parking out. Wish there was a sign up front or something for new comers like us. Now for the pizza. I would describe their pizza as being good to very good. A few in LA a little better IMO so going with four stars. Crust was nice and crispy, NY style, but the primo lacked a bit of sauce for me. Preferred the Notorious SMG. GF got Mr white and I think the Florentine and agree the red sauced pizzas were a little better. Service was really nice and friendly and pretty quick considering they do reheat the slices for you after you order. Prices were reasonable as well. May have to try a whole pie and review again, but until then it's A tier pizza but there are a few S tiers out there in LA so sticking with the four stars for now.

We love this place! The pizza never fails to be exactly as expected, flavorful, hot and thin crust for me, thick crust for my husband. We learned our lesson from our last visit when we came 30 minutes before closing, come earlier for full selection! Completely understandable since they sell the pizza by the slice. My husband loves the Utica (thick crust pepperoni & cheese with a pesto drizzle) and go for either the Mr. White (cheese with chicken, no red sauce) or the Funghi (white with all veggies) and of course, the garlic knots!

Pizza craving!! Decided to Yelp it and stumbled upon this pizza joint. Called and ordered a Deep Dish Utica. Now for the flavor, it was light, sweet, and savory. I enjoyed the focaccia bread and the tomato sauce; however, I had envisioned a deep dish loaded with cheese. This pizza was solid in taste and texture.

When I'm in the mood for some pizza and I don't want a whole pizza I love to stop by here just for one slice. They have some quality New York style pizza with good tasting ingredients. There are so many pizza joints around this neighborhood but they all keep a constant flow of customers at all of them.

We ordered four large pizza pies for our kids soccer party and there was no pizza left, everything was devoured by kids and parents alike. The pizza was hot, delicious and ready on time. The online ordering process was super easy.

    Whole pies available.

Recently a friend brought a pizza from Tomato Pie to my Super Bowl party. I didn't take a photo because I thought I already reviewed this place. Turns out I haven't. What??? I've purchased slices in the past, and since I haven't written a review I stopped in with my nephew after he passed his driving test. Inside reminded me of a New York style pizzeria. Whole pies are available (NY Style & Sicilian) in addition to a variety of slices, including Gluten free & Vegan. Pasta, salads, wings, subs, calzones, desserts are also available and they even have beer and wine. Quinn took our order and was so nice. Not only was he attentive to us but also the patrons in the dining area. My nephew ordered a slice of the Hawaiian, and I got a Sicilian cheese. Quinn heated our slices for us. The Sicilian was as good as I remembered. The crust was soft & chewy with a slightly crisp bottom. The sauce had a good flavor, and the herbs sprinkled on the cheese enhanced the flavor. My nephew loved his NY style slice. Our bellies were happy & satisfied.

The Grandma's pizza is AMAZING. The food and service is great. The ambiance is old school pizza parlor vibes with a west coast kick. Check it out and you will be back.

We stopped in after the 4th of July parade. Pie Life has a great vibe and solid service, but the pizza itself didn't quite hit the mark for us. The ambiance is definitely a standout, casual, fun, and welcoming, which made for a nice experience overall. That said, the cheese blend tasted a bit dated, it reminded us of the kind you'd find on a Costco pizza, which was a bit of a letdown and same with the quality of the toppings with nothing memorable. With so many standout pizza spots nearby like Prince Street and Triple Beam, the competition is tough, and this one just didn't leave a lasting impression for us. It's a solid 4-star experience for atmosphere and effort, but probably not one we'll rush back to.

Tomato Pie is solid pizza joint worth a visit. They have three locations; this review is for their South Pasadena location. We ordered for take-out a Sicilian deep dish, with half as the classic "Tomato Pie" ($25) consisting of Marinara, Romano, and Olive Oil, and half "Utica", a spicy Pepperoni, Mozzerella, with hot honey and pesto cream drizzle ($36). Each of these came atop a crispy sicilian bread that was perhaps slightly thick for my taste, but rich nonetheless. The Utica was delicious, crisp, surprisingly spicy, and succulent. The simpler Tomato Pie was also excellent, emphasizing an excellent homemade tomato sauce. Both were filling and delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. I ordered takeout over the phone and they were quick to take my order, make recommendations, and give me a realistic waiting time which I could plan around. As we did take-out, I will not comment on the ambiance, but the inside was clean and presented a nice retro vibe. The value is excellent. Our large pizza, including tax, came to around $30. Two hefty Sicilian slices are enough to satisfy most people. At 8 slices, this comes to about $7.50/person, or $3.75 a slice, a great price. Individual slices are for sale as well. Tomato Pie Pizza Joint, while not a game-changer, provides a good pie, great sauce, and an exceptional price. If you're in the South Pas area, give the Tomato a visit! The containers also come in four sizes: Small (4oz), Medium (5oz), Large (6oz) and Extra Large (8oz), so that you can gauge how much food you might need (I'm good w/the Medium Sizes). If you're not sure, you can also contact Muscle Up Meals. Best of all, I can easily enter the information into MyFitnessPal app. 2. The meals are affordable, which allows me to alternate between breakfast and lunch. 3. There's no commitment - I'm not forced into a packaged meal/subscription. I can do a la carte style and choose whichever meals to fit my nutrition goals. 4. The meal deliveries are promised w/in time frame and are packaged neatly and tightly. 5. (Saving the best for last), the Owner - Adam Karapetyan. He went from "Obese to Muscle Beast in 14 months, losing over 200lbs!" Partnering up w/Executive Chef Jesse Munk (who also lost 60lbs), "Each meal is prepared to be 5 Star Delicious as well as precisely weighed and measured to ensure each meal provides the optimum nutrition to help you reach your fitness goals." If you're not home, the meals come in an insulated bag w/cooling gel packs (lasting up to 15 hours) to keep your food fresh. Deadline to Order: Friday by Noon. However, if you miss the deadline, you can always contact them. Examples of my first breakfast and lunch entrees w/Muscle Up Meals: Breakfast Items: 1. Low Carb - Breakfast Tacos served w/green salsa verde. 2. Low Carb - Eggwhite Breakfast Tacos served w/green salsa verde. Both versions were delicious, extremely satisfying and kept me energized throughout my mornings at work. The lean ground turkey meat, scrambled eggs/eggwhite were seasoned perfectly w/out tasting too salty or bland. The cauliflower tortillas were fluffy, hearty and tasty. I tossed both the green salsa verde since they were too spicy for me and the breakfast tacos were satisfying w/o it. Lunch Entrees 1. Balanced - Blackened Chicken served w/cauliflower and grain rice. Extremely good! Bummer, they didn't have it for this next week's order. The chicken breast was tender and juicy, while the cauliflower was crunchy and grained rice was nicely cooked. 2. Low Carb - Turkey Meatloaf served w/broccoli florets and grain rice. The turkey meatloaf was good but tasted a bit too mushy for me. Whereas the broccoli florets and grain rice were perfectly cooked and filling. I may try out the Balanced or Keto version at some point. 3. Low Carb - Chicken Tenders (2pcs) Plate served w/a chipotle sauce, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower rice. The chicken tenders were hearty w/a little bit of heat to them. The chipotle sauce was too spicy for me. The roasted Brussel sprouts were a bit al-dente, but I still dig it. The cauliflower rice was also tasty, a little bit of heated kick (still edible). 4. Low Carb - Chicken and Cauliflower Rice. My last and simplest meal for the week, which was tender, moist and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend Muscle Up Meals. I will definitely continue w/them and have already ordered my second batch of food! (Stayed tuned, I'll continue posting pics of new meals).

There are a number of small boutique stores located here. This Japanese restaurant was a great find when I was out walking. I was actually going to pick up some food at another place. I read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect and was pleased to find that the food here is very good. This is a takeout only restaurant. They cater and also Chef Maezaki teaches sushi techniques in the surrounding area. I entered the front door and walked to the large counter. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I asked a number of questions and realized that I must be talking to Chef Maezakl. He showed me the menu. He also showed me specials that they were offering. After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. All I can say about the tiramisu is that it has an addicting flavor! I can't wait to have it again. It's nice that the parking lot accommodates all the small boutique businesses. There has always been plenty of parking when I was there. This shopping area with its boutique stores is a good find. I look forward to my experience at CM Ghost Kitchen.

The restaurant sells itself as an East meets West, New York Style, California Vibes establishment, and it achieves this effectively. I came by with my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. The inside, see photos, is clean, well organized, filled with TVs playing sporting events, and sporting an open kitchen, and a self-serve beer and wine bar. I especially liked the pizza boxes available to take extras to go, as well as other conveniences easy to grab. After resisting the many delicious looking beer options, I ordered a personal Manhattan Meat lovers pizza ($14), a crisp, well constructed small pizza with excellent crust, no flop, and multiple meaty toppings. My daughter had the Shrimp Scampi with Linguine ($18), which included a trio of garlic knots. The pasta was cooked perfectly el dente, was exceptionally lemony and garlicky which I can appreciate, and included six large shrimp. While the sauce could have been a little thicker I thought this was quite good for a pizza and beer place. Everything was made fresh. The staff was friendly, made good recommendations, helped us get a to go bag, delivered food as it completed with a smile, and overall seemed quite happy to be there. Prices, above, I found to be quite resonance for an independent chain offering food of this quality for sit-down. Mamma's was a surprising hit, offering great food and casual vibes at a great price. They gave us some free garlic knots to start. Delish. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The tables were moderately clean. The (very nice) staff member who came to our table when we realized there were no meatballs asked us to dig under the noodles to see if the meatballs were...hiding? We earnestly asked him, "Do you see any meatballs?" because, I dunno, maybe they were really tiny meatballs? We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service.
