Still one of the best pizza pie restaurants in SG Valley. Been eating here for a decade. I always leave so satisfied with a happy tummy. The pizza choices are hand tossed NYC style or deep dish Sicilian style. They are only use the tastiest fresh ingredients. All pies are served crispy hot and soft inside. My favorite every time go to is great grandma pizza and if I must go lighter that would be grandma pizza which is a Margherita pizza but feels so satisfying every time. I always order the garlic knots with delish dipping red sauce. I should actually try other items like wings, subs, calzones, salad and desserts. They are definitely one the local city go to places. I appreciate them for always supporting the community. The staff is super happy friendly helpful. Free street parking available. Parking lot fits about 8 cars. Able to park on Hope street residential. See you guys next week.

Came here after work to grab some pizza. They sell by the slice and it was pretty busy, so a few options were out while they were restocking. I ordered 3 slices to eat there and 3 to go. Tried the Notorious SMG, Primo, Miss Green, and the Grandma. My favorites were definitely the Grandma and the Primo. The slices tasted better fresh in store. The ones I took home got a little soggy toward the front, but the flavor was still on point. The slices are around $4 each which isn't bad, and they're a decent size with a thin crust. Overall I enjoyed it and would come back. Next time I want to try the square pies.

Pro tip: parking is a little hard to find, but is there in back. Place is much larger than appears from the front. Took us a while to figure parking out. Wish there was a sign up front or something for new comers like us. Now for the pizza. I would describe their pizza as being good to very good. A few in LA a little better IMO so going with four stars. Crust was nice and crispy, NY style, but the primo lacked a bit of sauce for me. Preferred the Notorious SMG. GF got Mr white and I think the Florentine and agree the red sauced pizzas were a little better. Service was really nice and friendly and pretty quick considering they do reheat the slices for you after you order. Prices were reasonable as well. May have to try a whole pie and review again, but until then it's A tier pizza but there are a few S tiers out there in LA so sticking with the four stars for now.

We love this place! The pizza never fails to be exactly as expected, flavorful, hot and thin crust for me, thick crust for my husband. We learned our lesson from our last visit when we came 30 minutes before closing, come earlier for full selection! Completely understandable since they sell the pizza by the slice. My husband loves the Utica (thick crust pepperoni & cheese with a pesto drizzle) and go for either the Mr. White (cheese with chicken, no red sauce) or the Funghi (white with all veggies) and of course, the garlic knots!

The Grandma's pizza is AMAZING. The food and service is great. The ambiance is old school pizza parlor vibes with a west coast kick. Check it out and you will be back.

Pizza craving!! Decided to Yelp it and stumbled upon this pizza joint. Called and ordered a Deep Dish Utica. Now for the flavor, it was light, sweet, and savory. I enjoyed the focaccia bread and the tomato sauce; however, I had envisioned a deep dish loaded with cheese. This pizza was solid in taste and texture.

When I'm in the mood for some pizza and I don't want a whole pizza I love to stop by here just for one slice. They have some quality New York style pizza with good tasting ingredients. There are so many pizza joints around this neighborhood but they all keep a constant flow of customers at all of them.

We ordered four large pizza pies for our kids soccer party and there was no pizza left, everything was devoured by kids and parents alike. The pizza was hot, delicious and ready on time. The online ordering process was super easy.

    Whole pies available.

Recently a friend brought a pizza from Tomato Pie to my Super Bowl party. I didn't take a photo because I thought I already reviewed this place. Turns out I haven't. What??? I've purchased slices in the past, and since I haven't written a review I stopped in with my nephew after he passed his driving test. Inside reminded me of a New York style pizzeria. Whole pies are available (NY Style & Sicilian) in addition to a variety of slices, including Gluten free & Vegan. Pasta, salads, wings, subs, calzones, desserts are also available and they even have beer and wine. Quinn took our order and was so nice. Not only was he attentive to us but also the patrons in the dining area. My nephew ordered a slice of the Hawaiian, and I got a Sicilian cheese. Quinn heated our slices for us. The Sicilian was as good as I remembered. The crust was soft & chewy with a slightly crisp bottom. The sauce had a good flavor, and the herbs sprinkled on the cheese enhanced the flavor. My nephew loved his NY style slice. Our bellies were happy & satisfied.

We stopped in after the 4th of July parade. Pie Life has a great vibe and solid service, but the pizza itself didn't quite hit the mark for us. The ambiance is definitely a standout, casual, fun, and welcoming, which made for a nice experience overall. That said, the cheese blend tasted a bit dated, it reminded us of the kind you'd find on a Costco pizza, which was a bit of a letdown and same with the quality of the toppings with nothing memorable. With so many standout pizza spots nearby like Prince Street and Triple Beam, the competition is tough, and this one just didn't leave a lasting impression for us. It's a solid 4-star experience for atmosphere and effort, but probably not one we'll rush back to.

We ordered a spaghetti and meatballs, and it was delivered without the meatballs. Huh. Got fixed. Meatballs are delicious. Better than Charlie's Trio (where it seemed too heavy on the breadcrumbs, which made the whole meatball soggy and meh, although I prefer the marinara sauce at Charlie's - it's sweeter. Mamma's is more tangy, which my partner prefers. Anyway......saucy tangent aside...). We also got a mushroom/spinach pizza which was delicious, and an appetizer of toasted cheese ravioli. They gave us some free garlic knots to start. Delish. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The tables were moderately clean. The (very nice) staff member who came to our table when we realized there were no meatballs asked us to dig under the noodles to see if the meatballs were...hiding? We earnestly asked him, "Do you see any meatballs?" because, I dunno, maybe they were really tiny meatballs? We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service. They also have this pay-by-the-ounce system of beers, which I had never seen! I've seen it with wines. It's like pinkberry, but with beers! I've had a lot of pizza from New York City, to Italy, to many destinations in between and this crust is up there as some of the best especially to be based in California. That being said, I've had better pizza. The sauce really left something to be desired. It was underwhelming and a bit bland. The wow factor was definitely missing and sauce tends to really make or break a good slice of pizza. Same goes for the cheese used...It just lacked that yummy cheesy goodness you usually anticipate when you bite into a slice and it didn't help that they were a little skimpy with how much cheese they put on their pizza. I think this place would be phenomenal if they took the time to nail the sauce down and really invested in good quality cheese. They're so close just missing the mark on the flavor. The crust absolutely saves them from being bad but it still made it just an "okay" slice of pizza. The staff at the order window were friendly and helpful. The environment could use a little cleaning but overall it seems like it reflected the hipster/ quick eats vibe they're going for and it works for their business. Try this spot out and judge for yourself.

The staff is not only knowledgeable in Italian food and wine but also wonderfully personable, warm and conversational. As a business person in hospitality who often dines alone, it is nice to have someone in management sit at my table and have a conversation about how people typically utilize the space and the potential it has for a plethora of events- social and otherwise. I often have to remove myself from my design studio to gain inspiration and this place gives me the right mix of sustenance and excitement to keep my creative juices flowing. This is absolutely a hidden gem in the San Gabriel Valley. Don't snooze on tapping into the live music and delicious food. The wine list speaks for itself. Catch me here at least once a week moving forward. ‍

I've been to Pit Fire Pizza twice now and both experiences have been great. The restaurant itself…read morehas such a cozy atmosphere, it feels modern and clean, but the wood accents and overall design make it warm and inviting rather than cold or trendy for the sake of being trendy. The service has been consistently friendly and attentive both times I've visited. The food has honestly been fantastic. This has quickly become my go-to spot when I want a really good pizza made with fresh, quality ingredients. The dough is one of my favorite parts, not too heavy, not too thin, and it has the perfect crisp to it. Their macaroni and cheese was amazing too. You can tell they use good quality cheese because it wasn't oily, clumpy, or overly greasy like a lot of places. Everything was smooth, rich, and well balanced. I also tried the broccolini, which tasted really good overall. Personally, I would've loved a little garlic on it and for it to be cooked slightly softer since it was still pretty crunchy, but that's just my own preference and not really a complaint. The Caesar salad was excellent as well. It is a little pricier compared to some other pizza spots nearby, but honestly not by much, and when you compare the ingredient quality and overall experience, it's absolutely worth it.

The charred breadcrumb topping added the perfect crunch, and the portion size was ideal for two adults. It had that perfect cheese pull--and then some. 5/5 - Pepperoni Pizza (with added sausage) The pizza was excellent. I loved that we could add sausage, and the crust was amazingly light. My partner likes dipping pizza in ranch, and the crust (especially the edge) was perfect for that. If you're not a fan of overly saucy pizza, this is definitely for you--the sauce doesn't overpower the sausage or pepperoni. The cheese was evenly distributed, so every bite felt balanced. 3/5 - Broccolini The broccolini was just okay. I liked the char and the slight smoky flavor, along with the hint of lemon and cheese on top. However, I wish it had been blanched a bit more, as it was crunchier than I prefer. The tops were slightly over-charred for my taste, and the texture didn't quite come together. You order before being seated, which is a bit different, and then it's open seating--bar seats, booths, or tables depending on your preference. We chose a corner booth since there was a birthday party in the center of the restaurant. The space can comfortably accommodate groups of 5-10 people. One thing to note (not the restaurant's fault) is that there were children running around quite a bit, which made it feel a little chaotic at times. Since there aren't any activities or designated areas for kids, it would be nice if parents were a bit more mindful so everyone can enjoy their dining experience. The servers were extremely nice and attentive, especially when it came to refilling drinks. You may need to check in with them for things like to-go boxes, but overall the service was solid. Overall, I would come back again.
