My Husband and I stopped there last night to get a sandwich for the first time. It smelled so good we decided to get a Pietro's Pizza and keep our sandwiches for lunch the next day. Now my Husband and I are both picky about pizza. Let's just say this pizza was sooo good! Dangerously good!! We will be back. Nice little family owned place, staff is super nice and helpful. Place is kinda old, old tables and chairs, but good for a quick bite We come here for the sandwiches, good deal, 13 bucks, good size, not huge but not small. Ingredients are good, not great, but the bread, that is why we come here, the sesame roll, great bite, chew, slight sour. You can get anything inside, turkey, pastrami, what ever, the bread makes it. Hi , Went tonite , ordered same pizza i had ordered about 2 mos. ago. But this time they did the crust really thin !!! I do not like this pizza crust , i had assumed they make it just like they did 2 mos. ago ( regular size pizza crust ) but guess u have to request it. I didn't have to last time tho. But i think it was a different chef then tonite. The pizza was good but not great like 2 mos. ago. Definitely tell them how u want ur crust ( and yes they will probably charge extra ) which i feel they shouldn't , msybe for extra cheese or whatever , but not the crust. This is a yummy little spot in Pasadena. I stopped in yesterday for lunch and had the best Pizza Sub ever! My friend had the Chicken Parm sandwich and was super impressed. He's from Italy so he was anticipating disappointment. I also had a piece of cheesecake and extremely pleased. The best part is the service is awesome and friendly. We are so lucky to have Pietro's close by.. my family and I have always enjoyed their food, especially their spaghetti and meatballs and the sandwich specials. The other night I had placed a large order and walked a few minutes to pick it up. I realized I had forgotten my wallet. The woman at the counter insisted I take the food with me.. "call back whenever..." she said. I was able to chat with her and pay the bill when I got home. Thank you for being a good friend and neighbor in addition to a lovely restaurant. This was my first time here, and I was very impressed with the meatball sandwich. The meatball itself is soft, meaty, juicy, and full of flavor. The sauce is savory and meaty, and thick; I loved it. The bun was crunchy on the outside and very soft inside and covered with toasted sesame seeds. The service was friendly when I picked up the sandwich; it's a family run business and I believe the daughter rang me up. They appear to be genuinely nice. The place itself is small, cute, and cozy. It's a no frills interior. The fries are seasoned fries (previously frozen), and they're tasty, crunchy, and the seasoning is savory but not overpowering. You still taste the potato which I like. Like... all the way from Malibu and have to fully plan gas money into my budget just so I can inhale this dough masterpiece and pretend I live around the corner. In the 80's my dad had an office on Lake Avenue. He used to take me to enjoy a hoagie at this quaint sandwich shop. When I got into high school I brought my friends to enjoy these sandwiches. Fast forward to 2025 and I still come to this shop regularly although my business is in South Pasadena. I always get a large hoagie and am greeted with a smiling face from the shop owner. There is just something so special about this sandwich. Maybe its the nostalgia from sharing this with my late father, or maybe its the mayo and dressing, the peppers, that they cut into little pieces that mold this sandwich into one of Pasadena's best. roma market was closed early for new year's eve, so I popped into pietro's for a sandwich. the hot hoagie was great. smooshed down by the hot press, it was a nicely balanced sandwich. sometimes you want a mountain of meat with the bread acting ceremoniously as a wrap, but it's really nice to get a sandwich where the bread contributes equally. all that to say, the toasted sesame loaf made me v happy and it was interesting that they make it with three slices of bread. the sesame taste comes through so well that it reminded me of having sesame jianbing. as of this post, $9ish for a small (6 in) and $12 for a large (12 in). no clue why someone would get the small... I personally couldn't afford it. would come back and would recommend to someone if they were in the area and wanted a sandwich. plenty of parking. read more

I have frequented this place for decades! I have had their sandwiches and salads. It was only 2023 that I was introduced to their pizza. Oh my stars!! The pizza immediately zoomed to the TOP of my "favorites" list. I can't figure out if it's the crust, the sauce, the toppings or the combination of everything. All I know is that once I had the pizza here, it's my go-to for friends and family gatherings. My other favorite here is the antipasto salad. On average, I order it once or twice a month. Finally, the Italian Sub. Mouth is watering (literally) just writing about my faves here. Just do yourself a favor and try this place out. Friendly service, reasonable pricing, cute dine-in spot. Decided to grab dinner after I got to Roma three minutes too late. I ordered the lasagna which was delicious. Tasted fresh and did not have the overly acidic taste of most restaurants that use subpar canned tomato. It was cheesy, but not over the top and definitely not oily. Other places give me heartburn, but I had a happy experience with my dinner. Would like to try other things on the menu. The salad was just iceberg with chopped tomatoes--could have used maybe sliced pepperoncinis or some Parmesan. But overall the meal was great. Enough for two servings. Located in a strip mall, this deli makes a delicious meatball sandwich! The small is actually quite big, so you'll have a snack for later. The French roll is greatly toasted and packed full of meatballs and cheese. I watched a couple guys enjoy a pizza, which looked delicious as well. Those guys never stopped eating, a true testament of the quality and taste of that pizza. After the last slice was gone, they picked at the pizza pan for fallen toppings. Aside from tending the counter, the gentleman behind the counter delivers your food and cleans the tables with a huge smile on his face. He makes sure everything is up to your standards, before returning behind the counter. The dining room is just large enough for a couple small groups to get together or maybe a total of 36 to sit comfortably while enjoying their food. This place has been around for 40 years and they're next door to Roma, so I guess they must be doing something right. There was a huge line at Roma so I decided to give Pietro's a shot, and my hoagie was OK, nothing spectacular. They slice the bread twice horizontally so what you end up with is something that looks something like an elongated club sandwich, huh??? The bread was fresh and the ingredients too, but next time I'll wait in line at Roma for my "the sandwich" and save a couple of bucks, to boot.
