This place has cheap & delicious drinks, great people that make it drama-free, awesome waitress that will say hello like she's family(love it) & karaoke with option of some pool table. My friend invited me once & we have been coming here for about 1 year if not more. We come to the Tomkat to relief some stress, get our sing on, celebrate birthday, meet new people... the reasons are endless. They were given 1 star less than I would like only because the last times I have gone the KJ in charge is on my S-list & can be quite a jerk to those that go on to the stage. This place has gone thru a lot of changes and is still going thru more changes when they open the place across the street. I have to say I've always had good service here. Today being the exception. No toilet seat in the bathroom. And 15 minutes waiting for a drink while sitting at the bar. The bartender looked right at me 2x and served other people then decided to clock out of her shift. This place has karaoke constantly. The beer is good. Drinks are good. People are fun. Singers, well, they vary from good to bad. Some nights when people sing it feels like a concert. Some nights when people sing it feels like a comedy show. No one is pressured to sing so do not be afraid. This is my go to spot for chill nights because the staff is friendly and the crowd is chill. The cocktail waitresses are nice but are not always attentive to everyone. I go there for karaoke but the karaoke hosts are not always fair with line-up. It's obvious they have their favorites. They do have a good song selection though. read more

I experienced the "new" location on a Saturday night for karaoke and it was great! Nice atmosphere with a fun group of people. Caters to a bit of an older crowd but all are welcome. I have been going to the Tomkat Lounge for over two years now and im glad i found it!!..The drinks are normal price $4 a beer, $5-$8 a cocktail and Arty makes the stiffest drinks in town to make sure you have a good time. There is Karaoke every night with Rock-N-Roll on Sunday and Monday nights hosted by John aka "The Hag"...So if your ready to meet good people, have a stiff drink, play some pool and sing/listen to some music come down and party at the TOMKAT LOUNGE...you will have a blast! ..see you soon read more

People here hate you. If you want to have a good time, AND feel like you are a burden, this is a great place. I went there and wanted a good time, but it took an effort to get a drink (my first drink was made wrong (vodka soda has 2 ingredients)). They also have karaoke. You are welcome to sign up if you want to be skipped and forgotten even after tipping like I did. Ultimately, this place is tired of patrons. I really wanted to be one, but they gave me an experience I will easily remember next time someone brings up this place. I would guess everyone is happy Alicia will not be back. I decided to read more than just her review though and I must say the overwhelming consensus is that Donna is a great KJ. Since I have been coming to her shows for around 25 years and am a KJ myself, I will say Donna is one of the best out there. People have no idea how hard it is to please everyone, Donna always rotates new singers in with the ones who were there early but if you come in late and she has a full rotation to the end, there is no way you are going to "bump" someone who's waiting and buying drinks all night. I'm sorry but she has more experience running Karaoke than you do singing at karaoke shows, so no one is going to miss you if you never come back, Alicia. First impression of this place was horrible. For the first time I had the courage to go out. My small beer of 805 cost me about 6.80. I didnt leave a tip cuz I have to ask for my card back from them 3 times. Tried to get her attention 2 times for drinks. Forgot our drinks 2 times. Then came to us to ask if she gave us the drinks she gave us way after we were done. I find out she stole a tip from me cuz my bill then the next day after it goes through that now my charged bill was $9.00. So disgusted by the stealing. I dont work so the lil money I have and the courage to go out with the only money I have too..... think it's ok to steal and give themselves a tip after I providing shitty ass service for my first time. Sucks to know people think they are worse off then people and that it's ok to take money just cuz they didnt get a tip. If you didnt get a tip by ME the most generous tippers then you really fucked up that night ! read more

This is one of my favorite karaoke bars in North OC. It's not a private room karaoke bar, but does have karaoke 7 day's a week. The song selection is updated frequently and has current popular music. The crowd is diverse which always makes for a good time. read more

I am so horrified right now. I've been literally sitting right here for almost 2 hours waiting for my name to get called. This KJ Donna has the biggest attitude. I guess she only caters to her regulars. Every time you ask her about why you haven't been called, she gives you the rudest attitude: "let me tell you how I work this, one old singer then one new singer." Wth is that about? I thought that if you put your card in, you're in queue. Hey Tomkat, it's time to replace her especially on a Saturday night. Unfortunately I have had issues with my debit card here. Recently asked why it takes 1 to 2 weeks for the tab to be paid. Spoke to staff there and was told the owner said their internet was down. I asked how this was going to be remedied and I still haven't gotten an answer because I was hit with an insufficient funds because they keep bouncing in and out of my bank account. read more

Went there to do karaoke the older woman there back listed the song I picked and kept putting me to the back after the regulars even when I gave her tip. Ok so people ask about the babes I've been here during the day and the babe bartenders work days . Ok with that being said service great. Even on busy days it's all about respect , be s nice patient customer and they will accommodate you after that .even remembering your name and your drinks No problems there Yes there is s small crowd of meth heads here. But my biggest complaint is the the karaoke crew, Three black men ., that will literally hit on your date or spouse as if you weren't even there. Arrogant and pushy and TOUCHY. Kind of like that episode of bar rescue where the owner was hitting on all the women ., Ok felt a bit intimidated and harassed so we left . Ok so we came back on another night to see if anything changed actually it was worse .. I LOVE TOMKATS!!!! It's the perfect neighborhood bar! The service is great and they always remember our names and make us feel welcome like they are truly happy to see us again! I freakin' love Tomkat!! I first came here with a few of my friends to sing karaoke and have a few beers. Its small and the tables and stool all wobble precariously. The karaoke is fun, if not a little too loud in certain spots in the bar. There are a lot of song selections too which I really like. A schooner of beer is usually $7 but the "cute girl price" is $5 depending on the bar tender. For whatever reason the women's room sink is ALWAYS scalding hot, I've actually been burned once before, so be careful. The drinks are VERY strong here, which I find enjoyable! read more
