Man, what a gem this place is. First off, the agua de pina was so refreshing. You could taste the real pineapple juice and little pineapple chunks. For $8, you get a whole mug, ice cold, no need for a refill. The shrimp enchiladas were spectacular. They chop the shrimp small so you're not getting huge chunks of shrimp each bite and they top it with either red, green, or mole sauce. The ceviche was great. Great flavor, crunchy vegetables, and the portion was huge. But that's not the best part. I'm a sucker for good refried beans. Wow. Some of the best I've ever tasted. You can just tell they smash them fresh every morning. So I got to talking to the waiter, who was great by the way, and he said a while back they changed from lard to real butter in their beans and what a great change that was. The flavor is next level. It turned out to be one of the best authentic Mexican dining experiences we have ever had. The food was amazing, the presentation was great, and the drinks were top-of-the-line. Wow! What an amazing Mexican restaurant here in Stanton! I truly enjoyed my enchiladas here. I got both cheese and shredded beef and they were both perfect. They're generous with the beef and sides that include rice and beans and a small salad. My father and brother enjoyed their Carne Asada plates, and I stole a bite, and the Asada was perfectly cooked and tender (not chewy). Service was great! It was seat yourself and they had live music going, I will say it was a little hard to hear because the music was really loud but he was playing some good songs so I was okay with it. Was looking for a brunch buffet preferably, on a Sunday, and saw Dos Amigos on Yelp. We were in Anaheim and this restaurant wasn't too far away. Parking was pretty ample in this small strip mall. Once we got there, it totally looked mom & pop shop. We were excited that it was a brunch buffet and it was $26. Everything has become so expensive; and although $26 is a lot, it's better than so many other locations. Also, finding a brunch buffet has become harder lately. They had a great selection of Mexican brunch delicacies, and even tacos! We sat down immediately and the host was very friendly. The guy making tacos was also super friendly. Definitely seemed like a family owned business. I enjoyed the selection of buffet items; they even had strawberry tamales! One of my fav was the salsas and chips. They had pozole and menudo as soup options and ceviche. The dessert selection was nice too with a chocolate fountain and flan. I'd recommend trying this delicious spot, especially on a Sunday brunch! It was good, but next time I'll remember to ask for no cilantro since I'm not a fan of it. Someone else might love it with cilantro, though. We also tried the classic buffalo wings, which were amazing--10/10 there. My son got the kids' meal with chicken tenders, rice, and beans, and he really liked it. My partner ordered two tacos el gobernador and a fish taco. He obviously enjoyed them because there was nothing left! The vibe here is super chill--vibrant and friendly. Even though it was one of their busiest days of the year, the service was absolutely incredible from start to finish. You could truly feel the heart behind this family-owned business with how welcoming, attentive, and hardworking everyone was all night long. The drinks are phenomenal,their strawberry skinny margaritas are some of the best I've ever had. Already, I highly recommend coming just for the drinks.The location is also perfect if you want to grab drinks after dinner, since it's right next to a bar. As for the food, I tried the birria, and it was good. My colleagues and I were at a conference, near the convention center. I wasn't interested in eating at any of the tourist traps near there, so we turned to Yelp for recommendations. I used to drive through Stanton, all the time, when I worked at Disneyland, so I knew there would be some good mom-and-pop places there. Dos Amigos called out to us. I'm glad we listened! The walls have some vibrant murals. I had to take a picture! There are screens showing food porn. I didn't pay attention to them until after I ordered. I wish I had looked first because those nachos look like a plate of joy. One colleague got seafood enchiladas. Once she got her plate, she got real quiet as she ate. She said they were excellent. I can't remember what my other colleague ordered, but she said it was good. I got the carnitas plate. When I first saw them, I was thinking they looked undercooked. But, then I took a bite and immediately, I was transported to my abuelita's humble kitchen. The carnitas were flavorful and soft. I added some of the spicy salsa that was on the table. That elevated them. The waiter asked me if I wanted more tortillas. No one does that anymore! The refried beans were fantastic. The ladies both got agua de tamarindo. I asked for a Diet Coke and a water. My DC was a can; not my favorite. But, I didn't ask if they had fountain drinks, so that is my fault. The aguas and my water were served in huge mugs. Our waiter gave great recommendations. He was helpful and checked on us, but wasn't obtrusive. Music was a great mix of rock en español and English rock, like Green Day. We went there for their Sunday Brunch. Everything about it was fabulous; the food, the people, the whole experience. There was a huge variety of genuine Mexican food, and it was all quite delicious.
