This place is for my crawfish lovers (and other seafood too lol)! They hands down have the best jumbo crawfish around (compared to BC, Kickin', etc). Typically other places offer frozen or in season but they are always on the smaller size and sometimes can be super mushy. The jumbo crawfish here is always fresh. I also like how much garlic they add into their sauce. Another plus is they have a lot of TV screens so you can catch a sports game here too! So yummy! Glad I was able to visit the Crawfish Hut before the end of crawfish season. As others have said, this spot is in the same plaza as Rodeo 39 but parking isn't too difficult to come by. I usually like to sit inside and enjoy my seafood boils, but this time I got mine to-go so I could sit outside and enjoy the weather. There's a to-go order screen at the front of the restaurant. I got 1 lb of fresh crawfish with hut special sauce, mild spiciness, and corn. My order was ready pretty fast. The crawfish was so delicious and there was lots of sauce for dipping. This is my go-to seafood boil spot in OC! It's located in the same plaza as Rodeo 39 so parking can be a hassle, but there's never been a wait when I go despite how good it is. The workers are always really friendly and efficient. It's pretty spacious inside with lots of booths and tables. I usually get the Combo 1 with mild spice and their hut special sauce, which is a combination of all their sauces, and the cod basket with cajun fries. The seafood boil is super flavorful and not just butter like some other places. The best part about their seafood boil is how fresh and huge the seafood is! Even when we get frozen crawfish because the fresh ones are out of season, they are HUGE and taste great. The clams are also huge and soak up the sauce super well, and the shrimp aren't overcooked and mushy which is nice. I wish the combos came with more toppings, but we paid extra for potato and sausage, which were both worth it! We also tried their cod basket that came with fries of our choice, and we went with cajun fries. The fish tasted fresh and there was a perfect ratio of crispy batter. Definitely gotta try their house special sauce - buttery, tons of fresh garlic, slightly sweet, savory, goes really well with everything that's in the bag! We got clams, snow crab cluster, shrimp and corn. Also ordered half a dozen of oysters and the garlic noodles with shrimp. Clams and shrimp tasted plump and fresh. Oysters were briny and fresh, not as creamy as I hoped. The snow crab didn't have much flavor kinda like old frozen seafood to me. The garlic noodles were the biggest let down where the noodles were cooked for too long, and it wasn't garlicky and buttery enough. I appreciate the addition of some veg in the noodle dish. Celery was an interesting choice... it might be better with asparagus instead. The shrimp there lacked flavor so we just threw them in our seafood boil bag with the sauce. We also would like to have the option of a side order of garlic noodles instead of a whole entree with an entree price. Not too happy about that. Service was good. We order 3 pounds of shrimp, Hut Special, Mild or Medium Spicy (depending on the day). Wow. The flavors are delicious! Super addicting. My family and I were regulars here and used to LOVE crawfish hut. We literally ate there biweekly and brought all our family and friends there. The last time I ate here with a friend, they rung me up for the WRONG table and charged me DOUBLE the amount ($209) they should have (~$115 based on menu prices). When I saw the bill, I was confused and skeptical but decided to not think much about it. But I left feeling really bad about it. The next day, I checked the menu prices and realized that they DEFINITELY overcharged me. I called back immediately and I explained my situation. The lady on the phone asked me if I had ordered pepsis, which I had not. I then requested a receipt, which they refused to give me for literally no reason at all. They said they would work with their manager to get it fixed and that they would call me back in 1-2 days. I never got a call back. I called back 3 days later and the same person answered the phone. She confirmed that the server made a mistake and that I was charged for the wrong table. Again, I asked for the receipt, but they still REFUSED to give it to me-- which I am sure is illegal. They said they would issue me a refund. A week later... I called AGAIN! They said they had issued me a refund, but they did not specify how much the refund would be. They sent me the receipt of the table I was charged for BUT NOT MY ACTUAL ORIGINAL RECEIPT. To this day, I don't even know how much I should have paid for originally. They refunded me $100 but considering the serious poor service and lack of communication, they should have refunded me for the full bill if they wanted to make things right. Also, I asked to speak to the manager multiple times but I never was able to talk to the manager. This was honestly so frustrating and annoying. I ended up still paying ~$110 and a much larger tip than I should've paid, since I paid by the percentage of my bill. It has been almost a month since this incident. This experience has severely impacted my perception about this restaurant and as a regular, would like to warn potential customers about this issue. read more

We came on a Friday evening, and it wasn't too crowded around 5:30 p.m. but got a little more crowded as the evening went on. I got the head on shrimp with the "Hut Special" sauce which is a combination of the Classic Cajun and Garlic Butter sauces. The taste is on the sweeter side compared to other seafood boil places. I got non-spicy since our server mentioned that even the mild spice level has a kick to it. I tried some of the mild sauce, and it wasn't too bad! They provide you with a bib, plastic gloves, plates, lemons, a small cup of salt and pepper mix, and a pair of scissors. Huuge juicy meaty clams, omg it was so exciting. The jumbo shrimp is definitely jumbo, and they were all springy and delicious (not mushy). The corn was juicy and not chewy/hard. The crawfish, I will say, was not the freshest crawfish I've had so I won't rave about it, but it was still very good. I got the spiciest level and she was definitely spicier than Boiling Crab's XXX. Whenever I'm on a budget, me and my boyfriend just share a pound of mussels, with 1 add on of potato and 2 add ons of sausage, and that always gets us full. I will say it is a bit pricey here, but it's slightly cheaper than other places and definitely cheaper than bigger chains like Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab, which don't offer combo deals like Crawfish Hut does. The restaurant itself is really clean and decorative! They have happy hour until 5pm on the weekdays, but as soon as it hits 5pm it ends. There are some decent deals there as well. My only complaint is that a couple times we've been here, we ordered mild sauce but the sauce we got was pretty SPICY. When I arrived, the restaurant is in the same center as Rodeo39. If you are not familiar with this place, I recommend arriving early to find parking. There's also additional parking behind Rodeo39. Since I made a reservation, I received a text to approach the host to let them know I'm here. It was 15 mins before 7pm. The host was really nice and she sat us right away. The waiter came by and welcomed my bff and I. Since it was our first time, he talked about the menu and our options. I believe his name was Phat. Great waiter! Oh! They don't serve alcohol, but you can go to the bar inside Rodeo39, order & pay for drinks there and bring it back to the restaurant. The food was pretty good. We took down a star because we asked for sausages in the sampler which we didn't get. We mentioned this twice to the staff, and we never ended up getting them. The waiter apologized in the end, but it's crazy not to get sausages when you asked twice, and the waiter assured us he would get them to us both times. In this case, I expect the restaurant to comp something or get us a replacement but he just offered for us to either take the sausages "to go" or take it off the receipt; both of which are crummy options. The food quality was very good with deliciously sweet crabs in amazing sauce. The lobster, crab, and shrimp were all excellent and full of garlic butter. First off, the interior is spacious and comfortable- perfect for a laid-back meal with friends. The service was fantastic, especially from Lynnie (I think that was her name!), who was friendly and made the experience even better. I usually go for peeled shrimp, but since I didn't see that option, I almost skipped dinner (I'd already eaten, after all). But the inner fattie in me couldn't resist, so I went with a pound of clams to try their famous house sauce, which my friends couldn't stop raving about. I picked the "spicy" level, thinking it was a nice middle ground, but it turned out to be more of a mild medium- next time, I'm going full-on hot! The sauce was perfectly sweet, savory, and packed with that delicious Cajun flavor. I can already imagine it with peeled shrimp over white rice next time--yum! When I mentioned that to Lynnie, she let me know that I could request the shrimp shells to be peeled if I order them headless. Good to know for my next visit! We also tried their crafted drinks and they didn't disappoint. Since we dined during their soft opening and they didn't have their liquor license yet, we got mocktail versions. My friend had the Funny Bunny, which was refreshing and sweet, while I went with the Blue Hawaiian. It had a mild, fagrant coconut flavor, but I'd recommend sipping it before the Cajun food hits your palate- otherwise, the strong spice might overpower it. Overall, I'm excited about this place- it definitely has potential! Just please, pretty please, add peeled shrimp to the menu so we lazy folks (trust me, there are plenty of us) can order it without hassle. Amazing Vietnamese style seafood boil and service tonight at The Crawfish Hut at Rodeo 39! My boyfriend, friends, and I were very excited to try out this new spot and it definitely exceeded our expectations! Their original location is in Seattle but they recently expanded to Cali which was really cool to learn about. My boyfriend and I both ordered a pound of head on shrimp with sausage in mild spice house special sauce, along with a basket of garlic fries, bread, and rice. The proteins were so soft and juicy and sauce had the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy elements. Garlic fries were fire and came with ranch and sriracha mayo. The bread was surprisingly a high quality, fresh french roll. Both were great vessels to drench in the sauce. Damian, our main server, was super fun, friendly, and made sure everything was on point for our group of 5. Was super thorough with the menu explanation and patient with our repeat questions (mainly me lmao). The other server who tended to us, Lynnie, was also super nice. Place is very clean and the bibs and gloves provided were of super high quality. Highly recommend this spot for your next seafood boil experience. Ok, i got the jumbo crawfish which is frozen. It really was huge but since it was frozen I felt like it had zero flavor. Like usually I love the yellow head guts but when I ate this one it literally tasted like absolutely nothing. I was super shocked. Honestly it could be because it's frozen. I'd rather eat smaller crawfish that's fresh tbh. I got the hut sauce in spicy and it wasn't really spicy, but most importantly my sauce was ALL oil and bits of garlic. It had no flavor. Needed salt !!? I literally used 2 cups of the lemon pepper sauce. Had to dip everything in it even the sausage. At other crawfish places I barely use half of 1 lemon pepper sauce. Next my bf got the king crab, King crab was fresh today @ $110 /lb - that was absolutely delicious !!!!! Best king crab out of all the crawfish places around. Idk if I'll return for their frozen crawfish tbh but I'll give them another try for fresh crawfish! To be fair I've been eating fresh crawfish all summer and season just ended so maybe that's why this was such a disappointment BUT I did not like the oil sauce !!
