If you want to experience what a racist, woman hating, drunk uncle is like, stop in this place and you'll get your fill of those behaviors from the patrons. Don't waste your time or money. The bartender was nice... that's all the positives I am able to offer based on our visit. We wanted to try a non chain restaurant on the way home and we decided to visit the Swagger Inn based on reviews and the sign board of local businesses on the way into town. The food was edible, but not good. The Frank Sinatra sounded fun but reminded me of something you would make it you had a weird collection of food in the fridge and a hungry child. The accompanying chili was bland and more of a hamburger and bean soup than a chili. Patty Melt was basic bar fare, nothing to write home about. The place says good for children but I wouldn't want to have any child anywhere near this place. read more

The fish fry at Swagger Inn was delicious - we had the cod and the walleye. There is a small salad bar included in the price of the dinner with lettuce, cucumber, onion, cherry tomato, cheese, croutons, cole slaw, applesauce and a choice of a few salad dressings. The service was excellent and the food was freshly and quickly prepared. I might try the poorman's lobster next time. We noticed there are five other bars in a one block area, which is a lot even by Wisconsin standards! The grocery store next store is pretty fun to walk through, they have an impressive taxidermy collection. read more

We were staying in the dells and saw there was a place not too far away and it had 5stars. each year story is similar, a nice little diamond in the rough. I'm calling shenanigans because not only were the burgers frozen then burnt hockey pucks but the rest was average dive bar fried food at best. We went on a Saturday night and they didn't offer any of the dinners which should have been my sign to get out before committing to order food. The temperature in the bar was around 60 degrees. I dragged my wife kids and dad here based on the ratings. Consider this your warning. Don't waste your time, or your money. Only stars I gave was because the bartender/server was nice. read more

Food and service are great. A must try. They offer an amazing breakfast and the burgers are one of a kind.

The service was spot on. We started with the deep fried green beans which were delicious. Crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. I had the burger with grilled Apple slice, bacon and grilled onions. My husband had the Jack Daniel burger. Both were fantastic! A lot of flavors going on but a winning combination with both. Although bartender was super nice the food was quite uninspired. My Yardbird chicken sandwich was dry and although it was supposed to come with mushrooms and Swiss, there was so little of them they didn't even show off the side of the bread. My husband's blt was also dry with decent bacon but very little lettuce or tomato. Fried green beans were delicious though! Heading home to Madison we stumbled upon Swagger Inn and could not have been more pleased! The Jacked up Burger was awesome and super flavorful. I opted for the BLT and I must say it was one of the best I've ever had. I chose to hold the onions since I wasn't convinced it was a needed addition. On the other hand the chipotle mayo was perfect! Next time we are passing through Lyndon Station we will stop in for an amazing homemade meal! read more
