I'm sure this 4 stars is of my own design, but I DID toss out a lot of food, so here we are. I ordered some garlic parm wings and stupidly garlic parm tots. I didn't realize that I was basically ordering fried chicken and tots with garlic parm sprinkles. The first wing was awesome but the flavor and the "fried-ness" got overwhelming really quickly. I guess if I had ordered in person instead of through the app, the lovely guy in the trailer could have been like, yo, that's too much of the same flavor, you gotta mix it up. It'd been years since I last went to Tommy Want Wingy, back when they were located on Rainy Street. A trip back with a new mural of my all time favorite comedian had me saying Holy Schnikies in no time. Atmosphere: Food truck style next to a bar, common sight here in Austin but a great way to enjoy a food and drink. Food: Lollipop style chicken wings. Essentially where the chicken is filleted creating a lollipop appearance. Appearances aside all the flavors here are delicious. I got the garlic parm and one of the original spices. All were breaded perfectly and fried to a nice crisp. They maybe a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the wings easily justifies. Two servings will most probably fill most people. Service: Very friendly service, and of course the staff will geek with you on any Chris Farley movie, because hey that's why we're here right? Overall, I'd recommend easily if you're in the area. I absolutely love Tommy want wingy!! The best wings to ever exist. I love the chicken lollipop style it's easier to eat and it feels like you get a lot more with each bite. The buffalo is more spicy then your typical buffalo wing but it's so worth it!! The only thing I'd knock them for is sometimes I feel like the flavor of the wings is not consistent. This place has the best wings!! I usually get the 4 piece tenders with the OG sauce with the garlic fries. The fries are never disappointing, they have a crunch. I've also had the garlic tenders which is a dry rub and just as good. But people literally rave about this place so my hopes were high only to have some pretty mediocre wings. Got five lemon pepper and five ranch on fire wings. Total came to $20 after tax and the to go surcharge. $2 per wing is pricey. The lemon pepper didn't have much flavor, they really needed to use like double the amount of seasoning. The ranch on fire just tasted like slightly salty wings, and then 30 seconds later your mouth is on fire. It really wasn't pleasant at all. I probably should've ordered a sauced flavor instead of two dry rubs. The only good thing about the wings were they were freshly fried and hot. But flavor wasn't great. I also recommend placing an order online, then you can just pick up by sliding in next to the food truck, instead of having to wait in line to get into the bar. This was a let down. read more

We placed an order online here last night for some hot ranch and Buffalo wings with the garlic Parmesan tots. Their ordering system was pretty convenient. You can order online seated at the bar next door, track the progress of your order via a text-generated link, but they will also text you when your order is ready. Regarding the wings, I thought the Buffalo were better because they were saucy. The hot ranch were decent, but I wouldn't bother getting them again. The tots were actually my favorite part. *this review is for the location next to Cosmic Coffee* These wings are POPPIN'. I love the unique concept of cutting the drums so that they are "lollipops". I am personally a huge fan of drums, and I'm so glad that this place is able to make the coveted drum even tastier and easier to eat. I got the Spicy Pineapple, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Parmesan wings and let me tell you - they were AMAZING! My favorite was probably the Garlic Parmesan as they were crisp and had lots of flavor. I usually only go for dry rubs but was pleasantly surprised that the Spicy Pineapple was not overly syrupy and that the sauce wasn't too messy. It even had little chunks of pineapple which I enjoyed. This food truck is located right next door to Cosmic Coffee, so if you want to avoid the summer heat or grab a drink, you can head over there while you wait. When I went there, the wait was about 15 minutes, however you are warned about the wait time before hand and they take a phone number so that they can text you when your order is ready. My only gripe about this place is that it is kind of overpriced for the portions that you get. It costs $7 for just 5 wings, which isn't such a great deal considering you can get way more bang for your buck at other places. The fries are also pretty expensive, at $6.50 for a small order of garlic fries. I will say though that this place is one of the first chicken wing establishments where the fries were just as good as the wings, so take that as you will. read more

I asked if I can mix the tater tots and fries together and he gave a curt "no." Okay fine I get it. No flexibility. That's fine. I asked what peppers the Holy Shnikes sauce used so I can gauge how spicy it is to know if I can handle the hotness and he responded once again, curtly, "its proprietary." Gosh.. sorry I asked too many questions. I guess you just want customers to order and leave. No human interaction whatsoever. The Holy Shnikes ended up being quite spicy.
