    peach habanero wings
    L N.

Came here after a long drive from Dallas, and it was well worth the stop. I normally don't go out of my way for Korean fried chicken, but this place completely changed my mind. We ordered the Peach Habanero and Lemon Pepper wings, and both were excellent. The batter was crispy without being too heavy, which made the wings really enjoyable. I also liked the ordering system. You order and pay from your phone, then ring the bell if you need service. It was simple, efficient, and made the whole experience smooth. We had a group of six, and there was plenty of seating for everyone. Good thing I live in Dallas, or this place would be taking my money all the time. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and looking for great food.

Breaded 10 Battered Wings - sweet soy and garlic Parmesan

We took a short road trip to Austin for a long weekend and ended up at Hi Wings for a late lunch on a Saturday--so glad we did. We called ahead and were told no reservation was needed. Walked in with a party of four and were seated quickly with no issues. There's no physical menu; you order via QR code on your phone, which I didn't mind at all. Maybe it's a new thing because I'm seeing photos of physical menus all over the Yelp reviews. The system asks whether you want to keep your tab open or close it--we chose to close it since we knew we weren't ordering more. That means you prepay and tip upfront, but honestly, I liked being able to finish eating and just leave without waiting around for a check. It is always weird tipping before anything comes service but that's just the way it is at some places. Now the food... wow. Everything was close to perfection. The fries were incredible--piping hot, super crispy, and perfectly seasoned. If you love garlic, you'll be very happy. I'm not even a big Parmesan fan and still thought they were great. The spicy chicken pops were a pleasant surprise and reminded me of a really good General Tso's chicken--definitely not Sichuan or mala, in case that's what you're expecting. It was a tad too sweet for me but overall, great flavor. Not a hint of being bland. And the wings--if you haven't had legit Korean-style fried wings before, this place will absolutely spoil you. Crispy, flavorful, and just excellent. Blazing hot (temperature, not spicy.) Yes, everything is a bit on the pricey side, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Expect to pay $2 per wing. Ambiance was solid: clean (especially for a wing place), spacious seating, and comfortable enough. Service was fine--since ordering is all self-serve, the staff mainly brings drinks and food. No water refills, no frills, but efficient. Bottom line: great food, smooth process, and we loved it. Would absolutely come back!

I've tried almost all the flavors of their wings and they're always consistent with their menu items. Pretty cool people that service the restaurant.

Hi Wings definitely is the best if not the best KFC restaurant in Austin. I ordered takeout with my friend who was visiting from NYC for the weekend, and as a current Korean New Yorker, she was so impressed! Hi Wings has really garlicy sauce, and their chicken is always really moist. We really liked their soy garlic and honey flavors, and the leftovers hit even day afterwards. They do a really great job of packaging to-go orders, so I actually recommend ordering delivery/take out if you have the chance to!

Garlic Lover's Chicken Half & Battered Wings 5 (Sweet Soy Toss)

Rating: 4.4/5 [Postmates delivery] We ordered through Postmates, and delivery took a while. Fried Mushrooms ($5.99): Battered cremini mushrooms with almost no flavor. We had to dunk them in the honey-mustard just to give them some taste, so feel free to skip this one. We also tried the marinara out of curiosity; the pairing was interesting but didn't help much. Sweet Garlic Bread ($3.99): Two slices of garlic bread drizzled with honey--delicious! Honey makes everything better, though I wish the garlic flavor was more prominent; the flavor was too subtle for something labeled "garlic bread." 10 Battered Wings ($20.99): You can pick two sauces, so we chose Peach Habanero and Sweet Soy. - Peach Habanero: Tasty, but the peach and heat were more subdued than I'd like. Oddly, the side sauce we tried on a previous visit packed more of a punch. - Sweet Soy: A reliable favorite whenever we test a new Korean fried-chicken spot--savory, balanced, and the one everyone kept reaching for. Garlic Lover's Chicken - Half ($21.99): Served with pickled radish. The pieces are larger than the wings, but much of that size comes from the batter. Still, each bite is an umami bomb--you only need one to feel satisfied. We saved the extra garlic-honey sauce; it's fantastic over rice or stir-fried into another dish.

These are the best wings in Austin and it's not even close. The breading was super crispy and the chicken was juicy. Paired with the Jalapeño mayo sauce, the wings were delicious. Cool vibe, good music, and waiter was super nice. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.

This was a great small business spot. I enjoyed the simplicity and yet delicious food they had here. The waitress was very friendly and alert whenever we needed anything or had any questions. I decided to try the moknae's chicken gizzards. I enjoyed it as I enjoy fried chicken gizzards in general. I also tried the ruma's chicken crispy pops. This was so delicious. The full portion can honestly feed 6 adults lol. It was huge. I definitely recommend it. My kids don't like spicy but they definitely ate this too. The Parmesan fries were great too. The sides we had were the fried brussel sprouts. I actually thought it was perfect how they fried these. I loved the taste and texture. And the fresh pickled radish helped tone down all the fried food I was having. It was a great balance having that. I would like to come here again when I get the chance.

We got to meet Tara today who was so friendly and quick on the service ;D The place was chill as we were super early and it's Taco Tuesday but we prefer delicious Korean extra crispy wings instead! The ONLY thing missing were their juicy breaded mushrooms ‍

This is a sports bar and the tv volume is a bit loud. The restaurant is open late. There are dividers between each table which creates a sense of privacy. I ordered the individual combo with 5 naked wings and sides of tater tots and a biscuit. The biscuit was buttery, flaky, and delicious. I had the sweet and spicy wing sauce on the side. The food was delicious and filling. Service was great until the tail end of our visit. The staff was nowhere to be found and I was in need of a to go box for my leftover food. Overall, I really enjoyed my food and I will be back.

I finally got around to trying this place after seeing it for months, and I wish I did sooner! I ordered it for delivery and the wings were still surprisingly super crispy. get the sauce on the side! we got the jalapeño mayo and the sweet soy and both were great. they have more unique flavored compared to other korean chicken places and i'll definitely have to try more. garlic parmesan fries were also incredible. i'm a garlic girly and sometimes at other places you can barely taste the garlic, but I could smell it before I even opened the bag!

Fire! A clean and quiet establishment (thanks to the glass walls) complete with TVs, and a QR code so you can order right to your table. Easy to share 1 tab or pay separately. Service was friendly and attentive. A good selection of beverages as well. The fries and tots were deliciously fried, and I will be dreaming of the honey garlic parm wings all week! My friend loved the peach habanero sauce, but it was tooo spicy for me.

For meats we tried a solid mix including finger steak, beef tongue, pork belly (both regular and thin), and even beef intestine. We didn't get a single bad cut and everything was flavorful and cooked well. What really made this place stand out though was the service. MJ took care of us and was incredible from start to finish. Since it was our first time, she walked us through the menu and even helped cook the meats so we could actually relax and enjoy our time together. She stayed on top of the grill, swapping it out right when needed, and was always checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted more banchan. What stood out the most was how thoughtful she was with my parents. She made sure they had food on their plates without overdoing it, which was such a small detail but meant a lot. The food was great, but MJ really made the experience. Definitely coming back.

I enjoyed the fried rice cakes that came with it, and the sauce added so much to it! The radish was bitter but I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my tastebuds.
