Outstanding! This is my first time there, so I tried the pizza -since pizza is in the name and I like to try fir an excellent product. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the "small" cheese, meatball and mushroom pizza. This came STEAMING hot - actual steam rose from this. I've never had pizza that hot. It was a good thing I had someone to talk with while the pizza dropped below the kindling point. I look to the crust when I judge pizza. Anyone can put anything atop a crust, but the tongue is first introduced to the crust. This was nice and firm while holding the toppings and had a great backbone by which to hold the slice. As it was revealed, the crust and sauce are made there! Nice. The small was eleven bucks. Ice tea four. What isn't expensive? I shall heartily recommend Tommy's Pizza to those in the mood. For recent experience I give it a 3. One person in party got sick on fish and chips. Part of another meal which was one of the specials were inedible with a portion. Have been a customer for years but not anymore. 2 weeks ago got a well done pizza after requesting it be cooked medium. Called and complained and got a credit. Brought a friend from NYC to lunch here I give more stars for our waitress that was super nice, who I tipped extremely well The items that were awful was a spinach pie and broccoli pie You could tell they weren't made that day a there was maybe one ounce of filling inside each pie.. Calamari was decent but over priced I wanted to say something right there but was kind of embarrassed in front of my guest I proceeded to ask for a manager/owner later that day by phone just to ask why the pies were so poorly made and somewhat stale. I was told by someone they were busy first call second call was they weren't available and would be left a message same for call 3 Manager/owner refused to get on the phone Inever heard back from anyone. I ordered a large pizza with 3 toppings and a large eggplant grinder with extra sauce. $43 out the door. Unbelievable. The eggplant was decent, but as you can see in the picture, there is hardly anything in it...sauce or eggplant. The cheese also stuck to the paper and had to be reinserted back into the grinder. Tommy's Pizza is a great local spot conveniently located on Oaklawn Ave in Cranston. Their pizza is pretty good, flavorful sauce and seasonings, but the crust is always a bit hard and flat. Their salads and grilled chicken are good. They given a nice generous portion of grilled chicken. I picked up a side order of grilled chicken and it was 8oz. The inside is comfortable and has a full bar. Waitresses are very always very friendly and seem like they truly enjoy working there. read more

I was introduced to Tommy's Pizza at work last fall when we had a pizza day. The office manager ordered a bunch of different pizzas. I tried a slice of pepperoni & a square of the white pizza with spinach and cheese. I really enjoyed the former but I was totally blown away by the spinach pie! Admittedly, I love spinach so I know I was inclined to enjoy it. What struck me was the MINDBOGGLING AMOUNT OF SPINACH on the pizza! And that the crust wasn't soggy! So, one day last week, I just wasn't in the mood to cook. Hubby suggested the usual pizza or Chinese takeout. I wasn't in the mood for those either. I suggested spinach pizza from Tommy's in Cranston. Hubby was like "meh" (he is a 100% meat lovers pizza guy!) but I assured him that the pizza was divine. Thankfully, he took me up on the spinach pizza challenge & even went to get it. This is a large, it is $18.80, it easily feeds a family. Better Than I Thought First let me say that the pizza here just isn't quite as good as the original location in Providence. My wife and I ordered I ordered the broccoli rabe bruschetta and a pizza. Both items were delicious and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that we sat at the bar and the service is slow. They do pour a good glass of wine and beers are priced between 3-4 dollars. Wow. I'm really shocked by these negative reviews calling the pizza at Tommy's "tasteless." Nothing could be further from the truth. I had the privilege of trying Tommy's for the first time yesterday with a couple who swear by their pizza. I had never heard of the place even though I lived in Cranston most of my life. We ordered a large pepperoni and a small with olives. Their large pizza is a rectangle while the small is a circle (not that it really matters). Honestly, this just might be my new favorite non-Neapolitan style pizza in RI. My family usually opts for Caserta or Catanzaro's. Both feature really thick crusts, but Catanzaro's has more topping options. Either way, though, I find the crusts at the other two to be a bit too thick and filling at times. I want something less doughy but still flavorful and crunchy! The crust at Tommy's was fantastic! It was crunchy on the bottom (even the center pieces) and had a nice flavor. It wasn't crunchy like a thin crust; it had a lot more character than that. The sauce was also really generous and flavorful. The pizzas had a lot of flavor! Even though we had only selected single toppings for each of them, they were delicious! I was so impressed by this pizza for giving me the crunchy crust I yearned for without being cracker thin or excessively doughy, that I called my parents immediately after leaving Tommy's to tell them they should try ordering from there next time because it's exactly the style pizza they would love. True story. Nearly all of the 1 star reviews for Tommy's are from people who have hardly written any reviews on Yelp. Some of them have written 10 or less. I never trust reviews written by people like that. I always think it's suspicious, but that's just me. Trust whomever you'd like, but this pizza lover is now officially in love with Tommy. Happened to be out this way for a work related visit. After a very long day a couple of days ago, all I wanted was to get back to my room, have some wine and some eats. Someone at the facility I was auditing highly recommended this place. Coming from Chicago, we have some great pizza places, so my expectations are somewhat high. But that doesn't mean that I can't eat a so so pizza if it has a decent enough crust and sauce. Plus I was starving like Marvin. So on the recommendation of someone who raved about this place, I ordered a pizza to go...I should have kept going to Domino's or Pizza Hut. Was so hungry that I decided to have a piece in the car. Maybe it is my imagination, but it tasted like the "yucky" pizza my daughter described that was served on Tuesdays when she was in grade school. Can't really say it tasted like a pizza. If I had to describe it, maybe Wonder Bread with some Ragu and cheese on it? Ended up throwing it away and driving back to the hotel. Told the doorman about the pizza and he recommended Napolitano's Brooklyn Pizza or Big Cheese. Ended up going to Napolitano's Brooklyn Pizza...great pizza but don't be fooled by the strip mall appearance. Obviously the person that recommended this place has no taste buds if he thought this was great pizza. And I can't say that maybe it is because it is RI and they don't know pizza because Napolitano's did it right. Oh and not only is there no pizza in this place, there is also no customer service...person acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me pay for a bad pizza. Bottom line, if I have to return to the area again for work, I will avoid this place like the plague. read more

So I had only been to their other location on Chalkstone Ave before this...and their pizza and spinach pies are quite good. The Cranston location offers a full menu ,It's a small, casual family restaurant, and very clean. It's extremely busy on weekend nights, usually a short wait, yet the service is excellent. We shared appetizer specials before dinner, including stuffed zucchini flowers with a side of marinara (so amazing), brushetta with fresh broccoli rabe (yum), and, codfish salad, all of which were incredible. Everyone enjoyed their dinner orders also, which included a few seafood specials.. The bread is the best!. I would advise trying the specials, are they are really great! read more
