Great celebratory dinner with the fam. Pretty spectacular wine and pasta, can't go wrong here.

Loved our dinner at Viola tonight - we were visiting Barrington and craving some Italian food. Fresh pasta - the bucatini and fettuccine bolognese were fresh & flavorful, and the focaccia bread and cornbread are must-orders. Phil, our server, was great with making us feel at home our first time here - we look forward to coming back again soon!

This review is just for the bar. I came with a friend for a glass of wine and to check out the ambience with the thought of potentially returning another time for dinner. We sat at the bar and I was immediately impressed they had the little hooks for bags underneath- major points there. Seating and service was fine. The red wine I had, which was $14 by the glass, was not bad, but was served chilled, which is not what I enjoy when drinking red wines. It would be nice if this was noted on the wine list. When we visited, there was just one other couple dining at the tables here and a couple folks at the bar. Aside from the chilled red wine, I really did not enjoy the music they were playing which was mostly Frank Sinatra at what seemed a higher than average volume for this type of music. Maybe this is popular with the over 70 crowd, but definitely not what I wanted to listen to while catching up with my friend. It would be nice if they changed to classical, jazz or instrumental music, which would be more conducive to conversation. The atmosphere is kind of a country chic decor. I was not overly impressed and am not likely to return here. Although the food looked good, entrees were in the $30 range, and at that price point, an enjoyable atmosphere, including music, is important.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Barrington, maybe all of Rhode Island, honestly. If you haven't been, stop reading this and go make a reservation. Ali, Don, and Chef Jon are an unstoppable trio! If you love ice cream, do not skip the spumoni. It's life-changing.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could... absolutely incredible food, service, and ambiance. All the staff and owners are so kind/accommodating/welcoming. We've also gotten takeout that was phenomenal. The focaccia and Andrea pasta dish are top tier. I tell everyone about Viola and I would come every week if I was able... so so good!!! Can't say enough good things.

We went for my birthday, and while I didn't take a ton of photos both the cocktails and the food we absolutely amazing. A hidden gem!

Start to finish this is a gem of a restaurant. The space is tight so if you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner this might not be your thing, but if you are looking for a lively vibe with great food and cocktails this is the place. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the food they serve. I started with an Italian take on a Manhattan, which was spot on. We tried the seafood salad app special which was fresh and delicious. It contained shrimp, scallops, and squid perfectly dressed with EVVO and tangy vinegar. The portions were large and although on the pricey side offered good value for the quality. The star of the show was the bone in veal parm. A 14-ounce veal chop pounded thin and pan-fried with bread crumbs. The right amount of sauce complemented the crispiness of the veal. I'm looking forward to having the leftovers tonight! Barrington is lucky to have Viola Cucina as would any community wanting great food.

New favorite Italian restaurant in the area! Viola is a very warm and charming small restaurant. We have been here a handful of times since they have opened, and have had a consistent wonderful experience each time. Every meal on their menu is delicious, fresh and flavorful. Their staff are always incredibly friendly and professional.

Amazing new Italian spot in Barrington. We came here early on a weekend evening. The ambiance inside is quite lovely. We got pasta with burrata, pasta with fresh sea food and the chicken scarpariello. Everything tasted delicious, though the pasta with the burrata was the best one. The chicken scarpariello was spicy and very good. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly; the only thing missing was the polenta. We also got a caesar salad that was very good. For dessert, we got the spumoni and salted caramel ice cream. The caramel ice cream was phenomenal. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Seating is somewhat limited, so it's prob better to make reservations. Overall it was a great experience.

Donnie (our host) and John (the chef) of this amazing gem in East Bay have brought five star dining to our backyard. The food was a 10. The service was a 10. The ambiance was a 10. You can tell you are in an amazing place when the staff, from the manager to the buss crew , is clearly proud of what they put on the table. The place is small, so reservations are advised. Folks, don't miss this place. It will blow you away.

Wow! I admittedly read zero reviews of this restaurant before I agreed to try it with a friend on a last minute girls night. We (mistakenly) didn't make a reservation but the owner, Don, was able to seat us at the bar despite being busy. The bartender-Zach was phenomenal and was so knowledgeable of the menu. As others have said, this place is an absolute gem! The ambiance, the drinks, and the FOOD, oh my the food! I will dream about the focaccia bread. Do yourself a favor and try this place (and make a reservation!)...I don't see how you could be disappointed.

There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!

Ambiance was lively (small place with as many tables as could comfortably be set). Parking is easy. We'll be back!

Delicious flavours, layered and complementing each other with every bite. The salad and the croquettes on a bed of beans so flavorful but to my absolute astonishment the dessert I could not believe they had il Monte Bianco, typical of my northern Italy region, a cream of chestnuts with merengue and whipped cream, Subtle flavours and not too sweet. Bravissimi. That was worth the trip alone. Never seen it on any menus I have come across in the USA. Beautiful and professional service. A must go to quaint restaurant.

Why isn't there a bartender on? Servers are taking orders and making their down drinks. STOP USING THE POURERS to measure alcohol! Not a good look when a customer watches your drink being made with those. Staff does not wear a uniform either.. zits just odd. And we wonder why the bar is always empty! I will say, There was a decent woman in her 40's working there for a few weeks on Saturday nights . She was wonderful!, and could actually make a drink! I haven't seen her in months. I can't lie, one evening we couldn't help but watch her try to pretty much jug the entire restaurant and make everyone's drinks because the other staff were clueless. One waitress was working with a surgical boot on her foot that went all the way up to her knee! Talk about a Liability! . I haven't seen that other server there in quite some time. I could only guess that she took her experience elsewhere. She was way too overqualified to be working in that establishment. She could handle that entire restaurant by herself. . Either that, or she ran out that restaurant door because she saw how the place was run! It's unfortunate because the food is delicious. But we just can't go there anymore. It's a nightmare.
