We ordered ahead of time, but when we got there they had a glitch in the system so they lost our order; They were very apologetic and within 15 minutes they had our order ready again. This place is tucked into a triangular lot in very busy downtown Gettysburg. We were going to a taphouse, but after getting judgy looks from the boujie peeps on the patio we passed on the over priced gourmet burger with a side of scathing . Anyhoo , I'm rambling. This place was your average neighborhood no frills pizza joint from the inside. But the food folks, the food brings this joint to the interstellar level. We watched pizza after beautiful pizza come out of the kitchen while waiting for our food. Our mouth was watering with anticipation! Meatballs subs, Hot crispy fires, they were pumping out delicious looking food here. We got our pie in about 15 mins which we did not mind as they were busy. But, they had some local brew on draft and some local potato chips to munch and sip on, so we were happy. Our pizza was a bleu cheese and buffalo chicken variety and was Milton lava hot when we got it. The crust was crispy and had a slightly sweet taste. The toppings were tasty and fresh. All in all, a great find. If you are looking for no frills place with excellent food and service, give Tommy's a try, you won't regret it!! read more

We went to Tommy's about 9:20 pm. I must say the food is good but the service was very disappointing. The first thing the woman at the counter said was "This is going to be to go because we close at 10. Really...she didn't think they could have the food ready and us finish eating in 40 minutes? The food was ready at 9:35 which would have left us 25 minutes to eat. We finished eating before they closed. She also said the tea was fresh brewed but I'm pretty sure it was Lipton BRISK, which I don't care for. So, we ate in the cramped car with a 4 year old. Guess next time we will know. My opinion...if you don't want to be nice and deal with people, don't work in the food or hospitality industry. We came here for my daughters birthday because it was one of the few sit down places open in the area. The fact that we had to sit in the parking lot and eat, while the restaurant was still open with customers eating inside, just isn't right to me. Overall, food was good but the hospitality was not so much. I would have been just as happy spending $10 at McDonald's drive-thru vs the $40+ at Tommys... just to end up eating in the car anyways. read more

Decent pizza, somewhat spongey thick oily crust, not quite a greek style pizza though. Tons of cheese helped this one. Draft beer and cider selection was all great stuff. The pizza is not good...at all. The crust was soft and doughy like it'd been microwaved, not baked. I guess if you peeled the top off and rated just the sauce, cheese and toppings it was pretty decent but that's not what the pizza experience is about. The subs are good, with the rolls being the highlight. The Italian steak sub had a nice amount of tasty meat, cheese and sauce on a toasted roll. We stopped in Tommy's for lunch and decided to try the pizza. My kids are extremely particular about their pizza, and they both LOVED the pizza at Tommy's. The sauce was slightly tangy yet sweet. The crust was thicker than thin crust pizza but not as thick as pan pizza, and the taste reminded me a lot of pizza huts pan pizza which is a huge compliment!!! All in all my family was very happy with the food and the service. It was obvious to me that this is a local favorite- when we left the Lobby was full of people waiting for carry out orders and the parking lot was full. It pains me to say this, but recently my beloved Tommy's has gone down hill. I grew up on this pizza and always made it a point to go here when I came back to Gettysburg. After my second bad experience a few weeks ago I am done and going to Pizza House. My wife and I ordered 2 subs and a small pepperoni pizza. The subs were good but the pizza was horrible. MAYBE if they were busy that would explain it, but we were the only customers there! They crust was undercooked and everything just looked like a blob. We ended up throwing the pizza away it was so bad. Maybe the owners need to concentrate on the business instead of opening a brewery and all the other stuff they seem to be worried about. Popped in on a Saturday night to pick up a late dinner to take back to our hotel. The place was hopping, which is always a good sign. Classic old school round pizza. We ordered a supreme and a Greek. Both had plenty of toppings and cooked cooked perfectly. Prices are slightly higher than average for a pizza joint, but expected for a tourist destination. Would definitely recommend. read more

10/01/2020 I tried to give them one last chance. But the service is rude and the quality of the ingredients have gone way down hill since March. The heavy bald guy at the register is very bothered by having to take an order, especially if you ask for something on the menu and pronounce it incorrectly. I'm a Gettysburg resident, I've tried Tommy's in the past and I agree with other reviewers that note that the sandwiches and pizza are not the best in the Gettysburg area. Recently I read a bunch of favorable posts about Tommy's on their Facebook page so I commented that although I felt in the past that other local Pizza Restaurants had better food maybe I should give Tommy's another try because of all the favorable Facebook reviews. The staff at Tommy's got their noses all out of joint and told me they did not like unfavorable reviews nor allow the mention of other Gettysburg restaurants on their Facebook page and they were deleting my comment. Sounds like they are "riding on a past reputation", resting on their laurels, and unwilling to allow any type of unfavorable comment about their food. Needless to say, based on this attitude I'm not very likely now to give this restaurant another try. I'm posting my comment again here where it cannot be deleted by Tommy's Staff. If you want an alternative to Tommy's try Little Italy V, six miles west of Gettysburg Town center on Rt 30 (Chambersburg Road) or Deliso Pizza 829 Biglerville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 1 mile North of Gettysburg Town Center....both offer very good pizza, sub sandwiches and italian dinner entrees, in my opinion. read more

We came here last Saturday for the Great Pumpkin Beer Bash and had a blast. 10 pumpkin beers in rotation all day at an awesome deal with a take home glass. I've posted this to their Facebook page twice and it gets deleted. I posted this on Saturday: Although our pizza was ok, we were dissatisfied with the service. We ordered three large pepperoni pizzas. As my husband and son went up to the counter to pick them up, my son had the pizza slip off the tray. It landed on the floor. One of the guys behind the counter walked past and just smirked. No one offered to help. We had to go up to the counter to ask for someone to clean it up. Luckily we had two other pizza's to eat, because no one offered to bake a new pizza, or anything of a similar nature. So even though we paid for three pizzas, we only got two. I realize that it was our mistake that the pizza fell; but maybe you should have pans that can fit onto a tray that can be easily carried to the table. Really disappointed with the service! You asked me to email you so that you could make it right. No response from you in almost a week and you deleted the post.
