In 2025 I was trying to move into a 55+ community. I contacted Tomo's and they made me replace the shower cartridge and said they were replacing the piping that goes from left to right to turn on your shower water. The cost was astronomical they charged me over $2,000. After they did the work everyone told me they ripped me off. It should not have cost that much. So the shower head hose they did not replace and now a year later it broke off. I called the company and they are claiming that they can't produce any work orders or receipts. I truly believe they are making excuses. We've got to stop letting these big companies come into our retirement communities and literally rip us off. I can't even now see a work order that shows what they actually did because their computer system somehow ate up all our receipts What they didn't lose if our money. Please be careful with this company!!! First I got quote for $13,000, then after shopping with other plumbers, they gave me $7,000 price! They lie on pricing, please be careful!!! So after begging me for business, I finally said yes and what a mistake I MADE! They cost me $3,800 in repair for fraudulent installation of our agreement. I was recommended by them to do lining, but I didn't receive lining, but they did completely different work, which is much cheaper and bad for your old pipes, THEY DID spin coating ON my existing pipes - not lining, which I was promised and its more expensive. After refusing to give me camera footage of their work which I was told I will get,I had to have it done by Bill Howe and find out what they did! Camera footage is for approval what job was done, what I order. Before final pay, they refuse to correctly finish the job they were hired for! Amazing customer service with timely response and secure remediation of lateral sewer line from my home to juncture of City of San Diego main line sewer pipes. Devon answered my phone call after initial YELP request. He LISTENED to my issue and understood my need to validate his business license & review customer comments before going with his company. (I had been scammed the week prior by two businesses claiming to be chimney cleaning & repair services.) Within 30 min of my return phone call Jeff & Christian arrived. They introduced themselves and asked about my issue and LISTENED to my responses. Upon attempting to clean out the line they found they could not advance beyond a certain point. I was able to look at the camera pics and see the inability to pass the rooter equipment despite several attempts. Jeff clearly explained next steps and outlined associated costs. Jeff & Christian immediately began to open the defined excavation area. Matthew arrived to help. A pipe was cracked & offset requiring additional excavation to locate a cracked junction to the next pipe. Camera visualization revealed a third issue (a potential City concern). Jeff assisted in filing a Plumbers Report which prompted the City to send a technician to assess the issue & take in line video. Ultimately liability was mine as the homeowner. Jeff, Christian & Matthew supported my review and set up a plan to fix the issues immediately. Jesse & Devon (owner) arrived Thursday morning to join Jeff, Christian & Matthew for an all hands on deck approach to project completion. I had access to water & sewer use on Wednesday and all repairs were completed by early afternoon on Thursday. The responses to my questions from all team members were the same as what a neighbor & a former City Water employee shared with me. Consistent messages, open communication, active listening, skilled, expeditious solutions and great labor & parts warranties make Tomo's Plumbing the best I have experienced. Terrible quality of workmanship! I called Tomo's plumbing and the tech that showed up was covered in dirt. I asked him if he had experience pulling a stuck cartridge and he said "yes". 20 minutes later the brass cartridge housing was damaged/broken and my white tub was chipped in 2 places. a $400 turned into a $2,300 estimate! I turned him away and the tech tried to charge me $350 for damaging my plumbing. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these guys! read more

We had the sewer system re-piped at the home by Tomos Plumbing and another Plumbing company had to come complete the shabby job they did. Since most people (and we are seniors) don't usually go under the house, they also left the sewage pipes w/sewage in them and their trash there. The new company stated all cast-iron removed from the crawlspace and sewer system. There are three separate sections within the crawlspace that still have cast-iron installed to the system. All three sections are located directly underneath the bathroom. The toilet closet flange has no support beneath it due to the wood rotting out below, the closet flange is able to be rocked back-and-forth. Blocking must be installed beneath the closet flange in order to secure the closet flange properly. The 3 inch sanitary tee connected to the toilet closet flange is still cast-iron and cast-iron protrudes above the subfloor, This also goes for the lavatory drain as well. Also, the waist for the bathtub is not to code and is connected back to galvanized piping as well as cast-iron piping beneath the crawlspace. This section of drainage goes against grade and will not drain properly as well as siphon the Water from the sewer lines, exposing the bathroom above to sewer gases. Very shabby work and scammers. Devin the minority owner with contacted by my mother in law in one of her properties in El Cajon. The main in this property is cast iron and very old, just doesn't work. So Devin and Tomos plumbing just added venting ABS pipe in the laundry room that was above subfloor ( not inside wall) about five feet of ABS and charged my mother in law 10,250. When I contacted him to verify what was done that cost 10,250. He said that he hooked up to the main from under the house. When Inspected nothing was done below the house and no new hook up to the main. when confr he simple said if you don't like my price find someone else after the fact he already cashed the check. And also he never showed up to explain the work and just gave us the run around about showing up and said the work was done. He lied about connecting to the main and never talked about it when confronted with the question. read more

So I normally don't write reviews for companies but I just have to share the great experience I had with these guys. I had an issue with my water heater and I called and got quotes from the big guys that have the tv ads and the customer service and experience wasn't great. Then I had Tomo's come out and give me a quote and immediately was impressed by Devin who came out. He went over all my options, prices for everything and actually had a real conversation. No kidding he was probably there for 2 hours, not pushy not in a rush, just genuinely helpful and knowledgeable. I decided to go with a new tankless water heater and they were able to install it the next morning. The other guys were quoting me a week to ten days before they could do the install. The quality of the work when they were finished was top notch and they left the area clean. Definitely recommend these guys and they will be my plumber for everything moving forward. read more

Hello Everyone. My experience with Tomo's plumbing was awful. This is something that happened last summer during Sept. of 2024. His main goal is to empty your savings and charge you as much as he can, so he be able to make his payrolls and pay his workers comes the end of each month. I had overflowing toilet issue in the master bedroom. So, I called Devin (Owner/operator) from Tomo's plumbing without reviewing any posts from other people. So, him and his crew showed up and opened up the wall downstairs and checked the plumbing with a camera and said that your pipe needs cleaning. Then he said, we have this machine that would clean your pipe for ever and nothing will attach to the pipe. Off course the cleaning was only approx. 12 foot of the pipe and not the entire pipe. He also said that it would cost $4200. Right then, I realized that I wish I had contacted another plumber. So, I agreed to it since I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. They had to remove a T shaped pipe once they opened the wall in order to put the camera in there and also to clean it. Once they did the cleaning for $4200, the pipe had to stay open for 24 hours. So, they left. Two days later, another crew showed up to patch the wall and paint it, but they could not. Because the T-pipe was not place back. So, I called Devin and told him that he needs to install the T-pipe, so I can patch the wall and paint it, etc. To my surprise,, he kept saying you are not on the list, you are not on the list. I realized that I am not getting anywhere with him. I had to pay $850 to another plumber to install the T-pipe and then continued with the wall and painting it, etc. Sorry, if the review became too long. DO NOT use this crew. But, if you do, be very careful and ask them questions before they tear up your wall. read more

Matthew came out to assess why my shower water wasn't turning hot but he could not remove the shower handle itself to access the interior to check the cartridge or other parts. He said the only way to access the valve and cartridge was to break through the exterior stucco of my home to get there. With a quote over $1,300 for plumbing only, not including stucco wall repair, I took my business elsewhere. The new plumber arrived the same day and he was able to remove the shower handle easily and fixed the problem immediately. I will never go with Tomo's Plumbing again. read more

The absolute worst rip off... I need a valve repaired and they gave me a song and dance telling me I could not get it done for anything less than $2200... I wanted to use a credit card. The owner tells me just write a check otherwise it would cost me $2400 for using a credit card. Like I have $2200 just sitting around doing nothing. I told him put things back the way they were, and he said he couldn't that it would cost me money.... He knew I was going to be out of water for four days till my regular plumber could come. What can I say about Tomo's plumbing? I have dealt extensively with both Tomo and Hayden and they both have helped me out immensely. My problems range from the toilet, kitchen sink, water heater, drainage in front. You name it I have issues with it at some point. It's easy. I call them or I text them.
