When I walked in to Tom's, I noticed the place was very clean. The service was great and for 4 of us it was still under 20.00. The meal was made very fast. People complain about mom and pop hamburger places. I dont care what hamburger do and dont have on them. As long as I think it's good that's what counts. The price was reasonable. I have lived in Waco going on five years and I've eaten a lot of burgers in the area. Other similar restaurants like Jake's add Kim's diner have a better ambience, however Toms has the best burgers hands-down! Their french fries appeared to be fresh cut and tasted great. On top of having the best burgers their soda machine was extremely clean and this showed with the flavor. Their employees were extremely nice and service was fast. I would definitely recommend Tom's to anyone looking for a great burger. read more

I love Tom's, and I've eaten it for 2 decades, but I will never understand why they don't use actual mayonnaise on their burgers and opt to use disgusting miracle whip. Sure it's cheap depression era mayonnaise substitute, but who wants a layer of gooey sweet goblin *** on their burger? Not me. That being said, their burgers are good (bring your own real mayo if you eat inside) and their Cajun fries are to die for. The place reminded me of hamburger places when I was a kid 40 years ago. The hamburgers were tasty and did not taste like they were mass produced ahead of time because they weren't.
