A great juicy classic burger. They easily have over 20 milkshake flavors. I got the single with bacon and cheese and it's one of the better burgers I've had recently.

Old school diner burgers and shakes do not disappoint! Friendly and fast service- we were enjoying our lunch in a jiffy. We went traditional with cheeseburgers, fries, and chocolate and strawberry shakes, but there's a bunch of flavors for shakes, and tater tots for a change. Formica booths are just what you would expect at this Waco institution. And I think we got out with a much smaller bill than we would have had next door at Magnolia!

This place has the BEST burgers. Great flavor, great size. The secret sauce does make it a little messy to eat. The service is amazing. Food comes out fast. If you order a milkshake, plan to wait. I always make a visit to this place when I am in town.

The level and selection of shakes and malts here are worth coming to visit alone! The burgers here are a grease spoon but come on - that is why you are here, right?! I came here to eat a quick burger, get some fries down, and wash it back with a delicious classic strawberry milkshake without shame. There was a short wait to get our order in but it was lunch time on a summer Friday so it was busy. We didn't mind the wait though as the service was friendly. Every time a table was available I noticed a staff member would come around and reset it for you and do a quick wipe down for you. The space here can be tight for some but it honestly all goes with the atmosphere and throwback feel of Health Camp. I felt like I was dining in a 1950's-era of quick meal (or what we know as 'fast food) before we continued our IH 35 traveling up to north Texas area. Booths are cute and picturesque. Restrooms are really small and only one so there might be a wait if it is busy here. The parking lot is shared with other spots around Health Camp but no big deal. You should find a spot to park in safely and come in to grab your order. The drive-thru line was bonkers too but seemed to go by fast. Quick, easy, fun, and nostalgic I will forever stop in at Health Camp in the future as it did not disappoint.

Such good food. Not overly greasy or salty. Great portions. I just wish the cashier was friendlier, but I guess that's just the norm with college kids nowadays.

Obviously, this spot doesn't need a review but my wife and I loved it so much I had to. Protect this place for decades to come! I first heard of this spot 24-25 years ago from friends who went to Baylor. But since I've never spent time in Waco, I never made the time to come and try it. It was such a solid burger and shake (with amazing service), I will now make it a point to stop anytime I'm driving anywhere near it. I got a Health Burger with cheese, while splitting onion rings with my wife. When I asked if the banana shake or chocolate shake was better, one staff member said, "get chocolate banana". AMAZING decision. That shake was f'in delicious and I thank the staff for dropping that idea on me. So creamy and well balanced! Back to the main event - the onion rings had a tasty breading with a nice crunch. The burger was an old school, thin diner burger that nobody does right anymore. Nice flavoring with just a little char. The buns were buttered and golden brown. I loved the vibe inside - the artwork of other classic spots throughout Texas planted the idea to make a road trip and try them all (sadly, I know several are now closed). But this place has got to stand the test of time! I was gonna stop by on our way out of town for another shake but looks like they are closed on Sundays! Darn!

Holy moly!!!! If you have a hankering for an old-fashioned diner this is the place!! Almost didn't come here and I am so glad that we did! This place has been here forever and the pictures are amazing on the walls. Everything we ate was absolutely to die for burgers fries onion rings shakes you name it they have it and everything like homemade. Next time we're back in town we will definitely be making a stop here even if it's just for a malt and some fries. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it

Food took 30 minutes to come out. Order was wrong. Was told I needed to produce all pieces of my order to get it corrected. Over priced.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!

I ordered the fried pickles and I thought they would come out as an appetizer, but they were put next to the burger as a side so I was disappointed in that. The fried pickles were way too thick for my liking although they were breaded well. What's neat about this place is the variety of different flavored pickles that they have in the corner for you to eat. I really did like that!! There's a bar in the center of the floor and although I didn't get anything from the bar, I did like the setup. The burger itself was okay. Not spectacular, but not the worst. Would I eat here again? I think I would.

Today on the drive back and as I approach Waco I thought I'm gonna find a great smash burger....and oh boy did I ever. 4.5 miles off the expressway yelp pointed me to Captain Billy Whizz...not going to lie on the way there I was concerned and I got closer more worried if I had in fact chosen correctly! Pulling in nothing special and the area is interesting.... Saw they had a drive thru and went what the hell let's do this! Ordered a double smash burger with cheese fully dressed extra pickle, tater tots sweet tea and spent $20.00...just me. What I received was a perfectly cooked and seasoned juicy burger...HOT. The bun was soft and reminded me of an old style burger from my childhood. This is a big juicy burger and everything you'd want and expect in a burger. Tatter-tots were ok...hard to go wrong with em.... The problem is the burger...it's soooo damn good you forget about the tots. My only regrets is that I didn't take a pic....that's how good the burger is you won't put it down till it's finished. Ask for extra napkins....

We got seated right away around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There appeared to be only two servers covering the entire room but they did a pretty good job of it. Our waiter, a young man was quite pleasant and knowledgeable. He used an electronic order taking device and was able to customize anything we asked for, right in the device. Three of us ordered shakes. My friend loves Coconut Cream Pie, which they have and she was considering a shake. I suggested she ask our server if he could make her a Coconut Cream Pie shake with vanilla ice cream. Sure enough, he did it and it was quite tasty.
