The owner of the piano ultimately went a different route and decided to do something different, so we were not able to move forward with Tom's services, but I would happily call them again in the future if we ever need piano moving services. What a pleasant experience! The call to Michelle to get a quote was helpful and accurate. Everywhere else I called gave a dollar amount plus $5 per steps which was not very specific and seemed a bit nickel and dim. It was easy to go with Tom's Piano Moving from the initial call. Michelle was friendly and personable. The process was easy and smooth with a two hour delivery window confirmed the day before and then a 20 minutes call before arrival on the day of delivery and pick up. On the day of the move Clark and his team call at the beginning of the two hour window and was right on time after the 20 minute call. The team worked quickly and smoothly. The move was completed in no time. Clark and his team were also friendly and helpful. Clark even notice the wobbly bench and help tightened the screws. Cannot recommend enough! These guys are professional, affordable, and have the kind of integrity that's hard to come by these days. Everything was easy and efficient, already starting from the first phone call --- someone answered the phone immediately and gave me a detailed quote for the job within minutes (including asking for photos of the stairs to accurately asses the job). The movers were very professional and did an amazing job carefully getting the piano in and out (including two flights of stairs with sharp 180 degree turns). When putting the piano (a digital with a soundboard) in the new apartment, they were thoughtful enough to suggest to put felt pads on the bottom to allow me to glide the piano in the future, and prevent scraping of the hardwood floor. I happened to have some felt lying around and the team graciously taped it for me before putting the piano down. Best part of all --- when time came to pay, they knocked off $60 from the quoted price (already the lowest quote I had gotten) because they said the job was easier than they had anticipated! Needless to say, I was both pleasantly surprised and immensely impressed by the integrity. I had a piano that was in our family for almost 40 years. It was the very Kimball upright console I learned to play on. Great condition but with the advent of technology I could even get it donated so I decided to locate a piano mover. Tom's is excellent and safety is their priority. Pianos, if one does not know, are extremely heavy. They can also be dangerous due to the unstrung tension of the strings even though there are many videos on how to disassemble a piano it can take a lot of time and possibly a body part if you're not careful. Tom's will also donate or dispose of your piano if the company cannot find a good home for it. Very quick service and efficient. read more
