Thule sells extra bike straps on their website- these things exist. Then I asked if they had covers for it to keep the bikes from getting dirty when you drive with them on the rack. His reply: "That's the price you pay for carrying your bikes on the back of the car." Extra straps and covers exist, so I'm not sure why the attitude was necessary. Needless to say I'm not going to shop there going forward- I don't appreciate being spoken down to.

A couple months ago, I…read morebought a bike for my teenage daughter and one particular staff person (Zach) was very helpful in letting us find the correct size bike. Fast forward to yesterday when I had to bring the same bike in for repairs (brought on by my daughter-not the bike's fault). Zach was now the one to fix the bike. Zach was great at both explaining what he was doing and taking the time to make sure it was done well. I had to leave the bike overnight but I got a call the next day with an explanation of what was completed as well as the cost. It was far less expensive than I was expecting.

From the second you walk in the door, it is difficult to get help. The guy at the desk must be watching an intense movie or something because he was sure engrossed in the computer screen. I needed some breaks and described what I needed to the folks in the back. Out of the blue, some other employee walks up and barks, "That's not what you are looking for," then rolls his eyes and walks away. What happened to the friendly local bike store with staff who were polite? Cyclists are typically a really great community, but why doesn't Bert's follow in that tradition? If you are in a jam and need something quick, this might be the place to go. They need to work on those personal communication skills. Maybe they need to spend more time out riding in the community. I wish I could be more positive about my experience.

Both were professional, helpful, and friendly. They helped me with a part they had in stock, and ordered another part for my bicycle and helped me load my bike back in the car. I'm an average height but have long legs for my height. Andy quickly realized this and that narrowed his recommendations down to bikes that would fit me specifically. He even recommended two models that he didn't sell. He just wanted me to get the right bike for me. After doing my research and test riding (even at his competitor's), I found the Argon bike was the best for me and bought it from Andy. He then got it all set up and did a final fitting with me too. He explained the little bit of maintenance I'd need to do as well. In the end, he spent several hours over 3 days with me and was amazing. I highly recommend him and this shop. He knows what he's talking about and works with you to find what's best for you.

When I went to pick it up the owner had a difficult time starting it. He said because it was sitting outside for a few days. When I got the machine home, it would not start at all. I contacted him that it would not start, and he said he was now busy and said I could bring it back in a couple of weeks. I took it back and he said there was bad gas in it (I had just put new non-ethanol in it). He said he had to drain the tank and clean the fuel lines, clean the carburetor, and put a new spark plug in it. I took the machine home, and it still would NOT start. I contacted him again ( he doesn't answer his phone, he only replies to text messages). Again, he said he was busy, and he'd get back to me when I could bring it in. I asked if he had some obligation to look at my machine since it's not running after 2 trips to his place. His response was, "Just because I touched it does not mean that I caused the problem." To the contrary, I got fed up with this guy's bull and took it to a very reputable dealer in the area. Their service department looked at the machine, and the next day called me and said the carburetor had been taken off but was not placed back into the machine properly which was the primary no start problem. They also said the spark plug was at least a couple of years old and was definitely NOT a new plug. When I told them who did the work, they said I was not the first person to bring a machine to them after 716 motorsports had "worked on it". 716 Motorsports charged me for a spark plug he never replaced and labor he had not provided. On the invoice he had charged me for a spark plug installation and testing. I my opinion, he is an incompetent mechanic, a liar and a thief. And the final word, he sent me a text on Sept. 26, 2 months after I first brought it in, asking me if I'd like to bring it back. HA HA, NEVER AGAIN!!!

This place is THE BEST place to rent kayaks/canoes on the Erie Canal. The chute entrance into the canal is suited for anyone - but especially useful for elders or those with mobility issues. But the best part of Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport is the owner Pete. He wants everyone to love boating and get the best experience possible. First he has and knows everything about the equipment and will get you perfectly situated for what you need to have an amazing time out on the water. What really shines is his personality though... Pete is a giver and is generous with his time, expertise and enthusiasm for paddling. He not only runs the shop, but helps get you in and out of the boat and safely in and out of the canal. He loves what he does and he loves helping you get out and enjoying the canal. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is simply THE BEST!!! The water was clean in some parts and not in others. There were a few large branches we had to avoid. We got a quick good lesson on kayaking before we went into the water; it was very helpful. Our kayaking journey was absolutely beautiful. We passed a whole lot of ducks. They really kept us entertained. We passed a cute park, went through some gorgeous neighborhoods. Overall, there were a lot of trees on the shore by the canal so it felt very serene. I would recommend kayaking here! :)
