It delivered on the hype. I had the salmon fish cakes and a coffee and really enjoyed both. Good outdoor seating, kind service, a really good vibe on a sunny day.

Went for brunch on a Friday and the wait was approximately an hour. There are some shops on the same block that you can peruse while you wait. They also have a help yourself drip coffee cart at the entrance. Just hold on to your cup! For one appetizer, two meals, and two Bloody Mary's, our total was in the neighborhood of $100 - so kinda pricey for brunch. But the food was delicious.

Coming to this cafe was my first time having Swedish brunch! I was surprised by the options on the menu (not being familiar with many of them). Checking yelp however I was happy to see some great photos which helped me make my decisions. My friends and I shared a couple of entrees family style. The lost eggs stood out to me as it was not too salty and paired perfectly on the bed or spinach I found the staff to be friendly and caring, frequently checking in on us. They refilled our water numerous times and took great care of us.

Was recommended to come try the food here while visiting Portland and it did not disappoint. We waited a while for our table for four, definitely over 30 minutes and we still ended up just sitting outside in the cold lol. I do not really blame them though because it is a small place and it looked like there were only two servers on the floor. I had the Lost Eggs with a side of skivers. I have never had any sort of Nordic or Scandinavian food but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! It was a little pricey but it was still delicious, especially the skivers. They practically melt in your mouth and are even more tasty when you put the lingonberry jam on them. Despite the long wait, the food made it all worth it. I look forward to coming back here again next time I am in town!

I've never had a Scandinavian brunch and my first experience did not disappoint. We had the lemon danish pancake balls to start and it was so fluffy and nicely paired with their sauces. I ordered the smoked trout hash and it was delicious and savory. I also ordered a side of bacon and espresso martini to accompany my dish and I highly recommend this combo. Our servers were fantastic as well, making sure we were well taken care of. Just a heads up though, the wait can get long so be sure to get there early and put your name on the list. It's popular for a reason!

Cute brunch spot in the Mount Hood area. We went during a weekday so it wasn't that busy but we heard from friends that weekends get very busy. Service is a little bit slower, but expected in a small town. They have seat seats inside and outside. And you can wait in the hotel lobby, which is a nice quaint area with a fireplace. The danish pancakes were more similar to donuts, but were amazing. Swedish meatballs, and the Swedish breakfast board were also tasty. if you're in the area worth stopping by for brunch.

We finally got to check out Broder Cafe for breakfast this weekend and overall it was very tasty. We got there at 10:10am and were seated at 11:12am. The wait was the biggest detraction. We split the Danish pancakes (which look like large donut holes), the hidden eggs w mushroom and leeks, and the potato pancake. All in all... I wish they had an option to walk up and carry out a bag of the Danish pancakes. They were the star but again not worth waiting an hour in my opinion.

This is a go to stop after I land in PDX. The food is always consistent, the atmosphere is cozy and the coffee is phenomenal. No notes on the food other than to say, DELICIOUS! Our server was also a pro and made an amazing flat white to go with my (adult Lunchable) Skagen board $23. I'll continue to come back.

Portland never disappoints. This was a breakfast spot I'd been wanting to try for a long time. On our way down, my husband and I were debating where to eat, and curiosity about a Swedish-style breakfast led us here--and I'm so glad it did. The moment we walked in, I fell in love with the atmosphere. There was a quiet warmth in the air. While the kitchen was busy and energetic, the dining room felt calm and peaceful. The servers struck the perfect balance--friendly without being overbearing, professional without feeling distant. We started with coffee and orange juice, and even the coffee stood out--rich and genuinely good. We shared the potato pancakes as a side. My husband ordered the Swedish Hash, and I went with the Lost Egg with Mushrooms. The Lost Egg was outstanding: creamy and earthy from the mushrooms, packed with fresh spinach that still had a nice bite, and topped with breadcrumbs that crumbled perfectly with each forkful. The sourdough came with honey butter--and even the butter was memorable. A truly perfect breakfast. A Swedish breakfast spot that feels like stepping into a warm hug.

Fantastic. Two egg breakfast w sausage and ragmuffin and rye toast. Lots of interesting unique flavors.

I had a great breakfast here this morning. Every part of it was 5/5. Very welcoming friendly service. Fantastic food with new / unusual things to try. And great coffee that you cod take with you. I had two egg breakfast with potato sausage (meat based with potato inside) and rag muffin which I never had before and enjoyed. I also had rye toast. The condiments were all excellent as well. Mustard complemented the sausage, lingenberry complemented the ragmuffin and the butter was TOO good on the toast!

Unique dishes! Everything I've had here is delicious, but I'm particularly fond of the Lefse (potato crepe). They usually have a weekly Lefse special, and every variation I've tried has been fantastic! It's super savory & satisfying without leaving you feeling weighed down. The lightly dressed greens on top add a nice zing to every bite. The Danish pancakes are a must try, and they're very shareable. The lemon curd & lingonberry jam are a yummy balance of sweet & tart. This time I tried the open-faced breakfast sandwich & was not disappointed!

We went there on a sunny day and the ambiance outside was very appealing. We ordered the pancakes, Salmon cakes and the Savory Crepe with Mushroom. I m not big fan of regular pancakes but if I will go to Portland again, I ll definitely get back her just for the Danish pancakes Top freaking notch Crepe was good , loved the texture but mushroom inside throw me off a bit. Dont really know what was wrong but just didnt like the taste. I also tried the Salmon cakes (i never order Salmon for myself) and I was impressed! Staff were very friendly and helpful and they even gave us a discount because they mixed up the order ( it wasnt really a big miss) One small suggestion though is to change the menu cards and maybe add actual pictures of the items cause what u get here is much better than what u read in that card

I was so excited to try this place. The place was cute but the music was too loud. The wait was long. The food was ok. Nothing special. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast, danish pancakes, and hash browns. No flavor at all. I would give the pancakes 6/10. The sour dough bread was too hard. Food was cold.

We started with the cardamom latte (rich and nutty) and the matcha marzipan (sweet and with enough aromatic almond flavor) and then proceeded to feast. We started with the Danish pancake donuts- lovely in that they were both savory and sweet, comes with lemon curd and jam. The lefse breakfast was really interesting - a layered thicker 'crepe' with cheese and egg. The fish plate was our family favorite - an epic collection of shrimp, mini shrimps, gravlax, pickled herring (our favorite) various breads, crackers and sauces. Very well presented, fun to eat, and enough to share. We also ordered the Swedish meatballs - rich hearty but small and few (5 total). Luckily, we had plenty of other food and this dish was great with sherry mushroom sauce and a delicious potato latke-like side. Our server was also incredibly personable, friendly, and helpful in our food choices which we always appreciate.

Those are always good and you have to get them when you go there. The one we went to was in the Scandinavian community center and it has a really nice clean vibe to it. It has large windows so there so much light. They have a little store in the building that you can browse around while you wait. Perhaps they felt the long wait time was necessary to make the food more appetizing, but despite the long wait and almost desperate state of hunger, the food tasted disappointingly mediocre. The sad thing is that the molded sawdust is sheathed with veneer, thin sheets of wood peeled from often old growth trees or endangered tropical hardwoods. Often that tree that took a hundred years or more to grow, is being used to make a piece of furniture with a life of 3-5 years. Don't let us get started into veneer poaching http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/california/Redwood-Park-Closes-Road-to-Deter-Burl-Poachers-248659171.html. Or hardwoods fueling war lords. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/liberia-ex-forestry-boss-arrested-corruption. That's just sick. The Good Mod is going against that grain. Their specialty is mid-century modern from the Scandinavian invasion. Those Vikings and their furniture! They refinish or reupholster the pieces as necessary and the price reflects that. If you have ever priced having a piece of furniture shot with a couple coats of lacquer by a professional, who also, by the way, is being paid to properly handle lacquer, which is very toxic, you know. But those prices are comparable to the new price in its time. And you are getting a piece of furniture you can pass down generations. In fact, some of it may become design auction material in the future. They were good on my visit with cadenzas, occasional chairs, classic Knoll chairs, a few sofas, lighting. They also gather up some industrial artifacts and repurpose them, if that fits your aesthetics. One of their newest spec pieces is a walnut ping pong table, which could also be used as a dining table. This item would fit well into the tech startup world. If you are an art director or set decorator they would be a good resource. The Good Mod has moved around and as of this writing are up a creaky elevator or quite a few stairs on the fourth floor. But that gives them a new big cheap space. And note to new arrivers decorating your Pearl condos - if you can rock this style, you can patronize a great Portland reuse business. You can even fib a little and claim your hip grandparents/parents/you bought it new! The Good Mod cleans up and restores furniture from the mid-century modernist age. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Be cool, stay cool, keep cool! (Thanks to Mr Oscar Brown Jr)
