    R02 Classic Tonkotsu Ramen

Ordered via Uber Eats, arrived hot and packaged very well! - Tonkatsu ramen (9/10): a large portion of noodles and the tonkatsu was super thin and tender, wish it came with a few more slices (ended up adding 3 more slices for extra $) Broth was solid. Love that they package the broth separately so the noodles don't get soggy! - Chicken Teriyaki (8.5/10): added extra cabbage and broccoli, both were great! Chicken was a bit overcooked but not bad, a large bed of rice underneath. Came with a takeout menu and the in-store prices are very much affordable and well-priced.

We came here on a Saturday night. We wanted Ramen and looked at our options. We quickly got seated and then ordered our food. It was easy to order with the server. The appetizers that we got were potato croquette, chicken katsu, and the fries. I would say that the appetizers were the star of the show. They were hot, delicious and filling. When it comes to the ramen, it's passable but not the best in the area. I would say that it wasn't a standout ramen. Not salty but not flavorful so it was average tasting.

Nice nestled spot in Oakbrook....serv8ce was interesting...took a while to get what we ordered. However when we got it, my girl ordered the fried chicken Ramen and I ordered the teriyaki beek don. Healthy.portion of rice with nicely cooked beef. The sauce was good. The chicken dish was good, spicy, but the chicken was dry. The soft boiled egg was a nice touch

Ahhhhh Ramen!! I am a lover of ramen and I plan to try the ramen in every country/state that I travel to, but this also lifts my expectations for certain restaurant locations. I met a friend of mine who flew in from out of town to Ton-Ichi Ramen and I was underwhelmed. The location is in a busy strip mall with a popular steak house and seafood restaurant. Although the location is small, it's cute and cozy on the inside. The ramen looked beautiful upon arrival, and actually the taste of the ramen wasn't bad. However, the friend chicken in the bowl was a little overcooked. I had to remove the chicken from the bowl in order to cut the chicken in pieces. It was then that I saw that there were pieces of the chicken cut just right, and then there were parts of the chicken that were stringy and hard. The service was not top tier, but it was sustainable. Unfortunately, there was only one server/waiter for about 10 different tables. Again, the location is small, but when it's a busy Friday night, that seems like a recipe for disaster. Every one should try this ramen location. I would not have my expectations too high, but it's still good ramen.

My brother and I were craving something warm and comforting on a rainy day, and this hit the spot! We started with the edamame and pork bao buns for apps. Edamame was simple and lightly salted. The pork bao buns were so good that we ended up ordering the chicken one shortly after. The latter was our favorite - crispy and flavorful! We shared the wagyu beef ramen, 10/10 recommend! The wagyu was sooo tender, but I wish there was a bigger meat portion. Noodles were on the thinner side and broth was rich and well-seasoned with the perfect medium level of heat. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. I live an hour away so I won't be back anytime soon, but I'd recommend to friends that live close!

    The standard ramen bowl, spicy.

A basic bowl of ramen and it was excellent! We got them "spicy" and it had the perfect level of heat. Broth was very good, fresh ingredients, hearty and filling. The avocado smoothie very tasty, recommended. Great service, clean, well lit, nice atmosphere. Will make it again for a warm bowl on a cold day.

Spicy R03 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. Absolutely wonderful! Lots of flavor, punch of spice, soft noodles, I love the variety of textures.

Delicious dish! Lots of textures, flavors and a spicy punch but not too spicy. Highly recommend this place. Clean and good music the afternoon we visited.

shrimp tempura - definitely a pass

My dad and I were in the area for a doctor's appointment that lasted longer than expected. We were hungry and craving for something warm and flavorful. We looked up a few places and finally decided to try out Ton-Ichi Ramen a try. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed is that we were one of the few Asian people in the restaurant. The hostess/waitress was very nice and accommodating, telling us about the menu and their most popular items. My dad and I both enjoy ramen, but are trying to cut back on pork. We were pleasantly surprised to see non-pork options available. We decided to split the Fried Chicken Ramen; ramen made with chicken broth and topped with fried chicken cutlet, bean sprout, seaweed, corn, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and a boiled egg. This came out looking very appetizing - and I am happy to share that it tasted as good as it looked! The broth was flavorful with a little kick to it. The chicken was quite tasty and while perhaps a bit over fried, it was perfectly fried to us (we live crispy food). We ordered takoyaki and shrimp tempura off the appetizer section to eat as sides. The takoyaki was the perfect balance of savory and sweet, with the sauce complimenting the flavor of the octopus. However, the shrimp tempura was overcooked and tasted like it came from a box of frozen tempura. I would give Ton-Ichi Ramen 3/5 stars. The vibe is definitely cozy, with dim lighting and booths. However, our particular booth needed to be rewiped and while the ramen itself was delicious, the shrimp tempura had me wondering how some of their other items would suffice.

Great food. Great service. The menu isn't huge but they have a variety of ramens, rice bowls, and soba noodles. Big portions. Will definitely be back.

Lots of seats available as well as parking. Service was amazing! Gentlemen who worlds the front was very attentive and would check in from time to time to make sure we were okay. Bao buns were soooo good! Perfectly crispy with the right amount of sauce and crunch! Dumplings were also delicious! Can't say anything about bad about this place! A must try if you're in the area or want to try a new ramen spot!

We asked for knives and were given one to share. The shrimp appetizer looked like no shrimp I have ever seen before. There was no salt or pepper shaker on the table to I went and got one off another table. As I brought it to our table I made sure to let my fellow diner know to use a napkin as the shaker was dirty and sticky. We finally just ordered chicken broth with ramen noodles expecting it to taste like Lipton chicken noodle soup. SURPRISE ~ not like anything I have ever tasted before. The booth where we were seated faced west so there were slats and a shade to cover the window. Reading the menu was next to impossible. This was my first exposure to ramen and, most likely, my last. I got tired of waiting for my printed receipt so we left. I will not return to this restaurant.

We were greeted and seated in a booth as soon as we walked in for a weekday dinner. I tried the EDAMAME, TONKOTSU RICH GARLIC RAMEN, and the WAGYU BEEF RAMEN. The ramen dishes were fantastic. I liked the garlic broth the best, it was so flavorful. The beef was delicious too, but I wish there was more protein in it. The service is very friendly, attentive, and efficient. The place is clean and parking is easy. They also offer rice bowls and fruit smoothies as well. I would like to try the rice bowls next time I visit. I hope they eventually have more drink options besides soda and smoothies. My ramen craving was satisfied. 'Til next time!
