Overpriced. Not surprised that it wasn't busy on a Friday night with the quality of sushi. Worth it to go elsewhere

We discovered Tona a few months ago and we love this place. We have been to practically every sushi join in the valley: downtown SLC, Bountiful, Centerville, Sugar House, Sandy, etc. Tona is HANDS DOWN my favorite sushi join. The food is outstanding, the flavor combinations are unique and wonderful, the staff is friendly, even the desserts are unique and yummy! We have been there three times, now. Not once did it disappoint. We will be back, and as long as they keep doing what they are doing, we will be back over and over and over. Enjoy! read more

A wonderfully charming and elegant staple of Ogden. Delishious and fresh sushi and a sharp and efficient staff. I can highly recommend the Red Devil roll for a light roll with clean and refined flavors. Ask for Jordan if you want a server that is highly attentive but not intrusive and very sweet. read more

My wife and I are the usual Wednesday night crowd and although the food is always tasty the PDA we witness was not. I usually have great experiences at Tona but we witness 2 individuals constantly holding hands and touching right in front of us. Some stuff should be done behind closed doors. They must do it quite often if they aren't being reprimanded. I don't take to writing reviews but servers should keep busy with tables not with holding hands/groping where customers can obviously see you. read more

A small trendy sushi spot. I tried multiple rolls and everything was very good! I had the seaweed salad as an appetizer and it was super good! The portion size is small, but I definitely recommend giving this a try. This place also has a really sweet deal on Mondays. If you spend more than $25 and you get a (select) free item. I got the peanut butter dessert for free. It wasn't great. But the ingredients were all fresh and it wasn't too sweet. If you want a less indulgent treat this might do the trick. We visited Park City UT (first time to UT) and found the O'Town Foodie Tour in Ogden and thought it looked like something unusual to do so we booked the tour, so glad we did! Tona was on our stop with O'Town Foodie Tour and was so much fun! The staff were so friendly and and eager to talk about their creations (you can tell they enjoy being creative and are allowed the opportunity to create some dishes unique to Tona). The sushi was so good and is based on locally available resources during the season. We had the grinch and another roll that I can not remember the name of but was so good. The drink we tasted was an unusual infusion of saki and wine was really good. We had to the opportunity to meet the owner as well and so glad we did. We decided to go back to try more items on their unusual menu items but the wait list was so long we were unfortunately not able to do so. I was disappointed as I wanted to try more. So intrigued that we are planning a trip back to Utah but this time we will stay in Ogden and will be making reservations at Tona! read more

Hands down one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Northern Utah. The atmosphere is always great inside, it's located on Historic 25th Street here in Ogden. The hosts, waiters, cooks and owners here are so nice. A couple of the waiters know what I order when I go in, because of how often myself and family like to I've never been disappointed with their service. Their garlic edamame is amazing and I can't find any other place that does it like Tona. The cherry blossom roll, Sunrise roll, and sake nigiri and bento boxes are my absolute favorites here. But along with many other rolls and items they are great too. Make sure to make reservations as they are very popular and not a ton a ton of seating. Or expect a wait, that is worth it. Over all me and my family and friends love this place. And wish another one was opened up! Definitely check this sushi restaurant out if you're ever in Ogden! Will not disappoint. read more

I have a hard time believing that I haven't already submitted a 5 star review from Tona. This is our ride or die. I've traveled for work and gotten sushi and almost every location I visit. All over Europe, PNW, LA, San Diego, Portland, NYC, Boston, Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the list goes on and on and on. I can say with confidence that Tona at least in the top 3 sushi places I have been to if not #1. I know. You wouldn't think little old Ogden would drop Sushi hammers like Tona does, but it does, it did, and it will continue to do so until the end time. Definitely the best sushi in Ogden. Their menu is incredible. The only negative about this place is the wait... usually its over an hour. But if you call in advance they'll usually be able to put you on a list to get in. Its great and well worth the money spent here. Usually we order their specials and try a bunch of rolls. By far the best sushi in Ogden. There are a few spots with above 4 stars, but after sampling several, Tona takes the cake. The service is friendly, the fish fresh, and the rolls delicious. Admittedly, we've mostly stuck to sushi here (and most of the rolls rely on the same 2-3 proteins with a heat kick), but that hasn't disappointed yet. Unique crafted rolls and low rice to fish ratio on The nigiri . Speaking of rice, it's not cold in the rolls which makes this place special, every component in the rolls is the perfect temperature making for mouthfuls of happiness. DEFINITELY worth a long wait, they take your number, so fee free to walk around 25th street. Maybe checkout the rooftop bar at Alleged for a killer views while you wait. My cousin recommended we do our next sushi night at Tona after she and her husband had tried it. I am so glad she did. This was some of the best sushi I have had in recent memory. Among 5 of us we ordered 2 appetizers and 7 rolls. I kept waiting for something to be not as good as the rest, but every single item was delicious. The Bacon Bubble Gum (appetizer) was divine and I couldn't stop eating the garlic edamame. The Grinch roll was uniquely tasty with its basil and tomato while the Coconut Crunch roll managed to be both spicy and sweet. For a unique roll ask to see their secret menu, or just order the Hickory roll, which has hickory smoked bacon in it. I met my wonderful friends here for the first time. First of all the building and the decor is amazing. I think they should give you a mini tour before you begin to eat. The food was amazing. I don't love Sushi but there are plenty of options for those of us. We started with the Garlic Edamame and the Korean Pork Ribs. They were both fantastic.
