This review is for Jenny the Colorist and Feryal the stylist at Toni & Guy at San Tan! I have been going to the two of them for over a year. Jenny is a rockstar colorist not only does she do the best color she creates the best patterns. I have also watched her do other customers hair. She is always up for trying something new but she will also tell me if it may not be a good idea. I look forward to seeing her as I know that my hair is always going to look amazing! Feryal is my hair stylist, I have never had someone cut my hair better than her! Her and I discuss what I want to do and she does it! My hair always looks awesome, I get so many compliments (even from people I don't know). I enjoy watching her cut other clients hair the before and afters are so exciting to see! I have always loved Toni & Guy! I had an amazing experience this time. Nic cut mine and my sisters hair and he was so different than any other stylist I have been to. He did exactly what I wanted, but he also took the time to talk about my lifestyle and too that into consideration. He picked up on the fact that I go to the gym and made sure I could still put my hair up. He talked me through what he was doing so there were no surprises. He took the time to teach me how to curl my hair. My sister was completely nervous! I have been a loyal Toni and guy customer for 10+ years. I have been going to this particular location now for about five years. Whitney, Rihanna, frielle and Jen are all great. Because of them I'm getting this place two stars instead of -2. My last visit here was a few months back and sadly will be my LAST. Being a single mother I'm limited on time and money. I purchased a Groupon for a highlight and cut to try and save money with them. I booked my highlight and cut on a Sunday and also made an appointment at my nail salon for after I got my hair done. The front receptionist told me that since I was going to be with a level one colorist there was no way I was going to make my nail appointment. I then told the girl that's okay I'll just go ahead and cancel my other appointment. Well apparently to her that meant I wanted to cancel my appointment for my haircut. So, without her saying a word about it, went ahead and canceled my haircut appointment so when my hair was done being colored there was no one available to cut my hair. Again I'm a single mom my time is limited I paid for a Groupon to have both of the services and the girl at the counter decided she was going to cancel my haircut without asking me if that's what I wanted to do or confirming with me Now I understand that people make mistakes so, I went up to the girl and asked her why she had done that and where the miscommunication was. The attitude that I got from her and response was beyond offensive she gave me a dirty look, rolled her eyes and said I told her to cancel it. I know for a fact I never told her to cancel my haircut appointment and she never confirmed with me that that's what I wanted to do. So then I told her perhaps she needed to call whoever she gave my appointment away to and let her know she made a mistake and that that person will have to reschedule. She giggled and said I can't do that. I almost broke into tears I was so upset, I was really looking forward to this day of relaxation and treating myself and this girl not only ruined it for me but made it worse by being a jerk. I was then approached by the manager Kelsey, who told me about three times that there was nothing she could do. I made it pretty clear to her that I was so disappointed in the way I've been treated there I was probably never going to come back. Only then did she all of a sudden have an option to help me out. Her option included squeezing me in with somebody who was in such a hurry she made my hair look like crap. The only thing they gave me to encourage me to come back was a 20% off coupon. What a joke! It's so sad that I was treated like this as a loyal customer who really loves Toni and guy services. I really hope that this girl that did this to me doesn't have a job there anymore as she really lacks in customer service skills. I know that's A horrible thing to say but it was that bad read more

The girls don't know how to properly highlight hair and FRIED my hair...I'm now having to cut most of it off and I'll never be back to this salon again which is too bad because I love the girl that cuts my hair. First, let me say that I have been having Lethan cut my hair for about a year. I originally was having Bree cut my hair but she left and referred me to Lethan. I will begin by saying that Lethan could be a really good stylist if he would stay focused and direct his attention to the client and not be looking around the salon, talking to everyone BUT the client and leaving while he's cutting, not saying anything, and coming late to begin the appointment, on occasion. At times, I kind of felt that his behavior was directed specifically toward me and that he WANTED me to leave and go somewhere else. I never complained and left what I would call a healthy tip, which I didn't always feel he deserved. This salon is by no means cheap, so the one thing I did expect was a top notch haircut. My last appointment with Lethan went like this: it was cancelled and rescheduled for 11:00 AM on a Wednesday. I arrived exactly at 11, because he was so often running late or arrived late. The receptionist said he was at another salon for a meeting, so she called him and he said he was on his way. He arrived at 11:30 (I had been shampooed) and he mentioned that he had stopped to get his lunch. (Made me realize where his priorities were at). As he combed my wet hair, he began by talking to the lady in the chair next to me about how many cats she had, while spraying product on my hair. Then he realized he had put too much on and had to take me to the shampoo bowl and wash some of it off. He started cutting, did say a few words to me, talked to a couple of the stylists around him, left for a couple minutes, and returned saying "I'm back". The remainder of the hair cut went as previously stated, I came home, wet my hair, trimmed it where I thought it needed it and decided at that time, to move on. I might mention that the haircut before this one was perfect. No one on either side of me, and the salon was not very busy. He had no choice but to pay attention to ME! I guess that I clung to the hope that the next appointment would be better, and sometimes it was. So Lethan, if you read this, I hope you learned something. Your client should always get your attention 100% of the appointment. If you don't like the client, be up front. If you treat other clients like this, I feel bad for them too. I would never recommend this salon to anyone. I had my hair styled by Dustin and I swear I thought I was going to die. I have really high pain tolerance btw. He was literally pulling my hair out while blow drying it. I wanted to get up and walk out so bad. He was pulling on my hair so hard and by the time he was done it was so freakin frizzy. And I asked for big loose curls and what I got instead were tiny little ones that looked like crap. I had to go home and wash my hair bc there was so much product in my hair and it looked so gross. The most annoying part is how everyone is such a liar there. My hair was clearly a freaking mess but all the girls said how pretty it was when their faces said otherwise. The worst experience ever. I won't say her name on here but "S" messed up my hair several months ago. Asked for a caramel ombre, showed a picture and somehow it was misinterpreted and I got a solid color. Ended up having to come back another day to get the bleached part because her shift ended. They did discount the highlighted part, but the end result was nothing like picture. Huge blonde chunk in the front that has taken 6+ months to get out because it was so damaged. Not highlighting my hair for a while and just trying to grow and cut it out. T & G does, platinum blondes super well , but I wasn't too happy with the last time I went with the ombre. Steer clear of this company, it seems like a lot of people are not happy. I have EXTREMELY thick, and I mean EXTREMELY thick hair and not all Stylist are good with that type of hair. Kenzy nailed it. She took the time to understand my frustration and suggested a solution and I was NOT disappointed. She did a fabulous haircut that I really love. It is exactly what I was looking to have done. I really enjoyed my time with Kenzy. She identified, by asking me various questions, that I was over conditioning causing too much proteins in my hair. Such a great experience from start to finish! I needed a retouch so so bad and two days away from thanksgiving.....Jenny did a seamless partial foil on my hair in less than 30 minutes, she was super confident which everyone needs and told me from the jump I was in good hands, and boy was I! My hair literally looks like Elsa from Frozen, perfect Frosty blonde with a hint of lavender I then got toned, washed and conditioned by Stacy..who was super sweet, knowledgeable and always kept me informed on what she was doing next. She gave me a great round brush and style and also added some layers. She even went the extra mile and fixed my shaved nape and gave it a cute chevron design! I was blown away with my experience at Toni and Guy at San Tan. Jose was my stylist and he was outstanding! I felt completely after the consultation, like he really listened to what I was looking for. The was and scalp massage was a nice surprise and he communicated through the cut on what he was doing and why. I always have had difficulty blow drying my own hair and after expressing that to Jose, he gave me a complete lesson on how to dry and maintain the cut. He was wonderful, my experience was wonderful and the prices were WONDERFUL! I have LONG hair (seriously long) and the whole cost with cut, style and tip was $65.00. I have worked in salons and have been to many hairdressers. I know that their job is not easy. My experience with this salon was nothing short of excellent. The atmosphere was laid back, but professional. My hair dresser, Katie, showed an incredible amount of patience and compassion when I tried something new with my hair and didn't like it. Instead of getting irritated or defensive, she tried her best to make sure I walked out of the salon satisfied. It took many tries to get my hair to where I liked it. Having worked with many hairdressers, I've seen many get angry or apathetic when client didn't like his or her hair, but not Katie. She just kept trying! I returned 8 weeks later, and he cut a completely different style which I hated. I went back just 4 short weeks later. He was apologetic and even gave a discount. He totally cut hair and I still hate it. The worst part is he didn't listen to what I wanted. Why is it so hard for beauticians to do same style when you return for a trim? I love coming to this Toni and Guy. It is conveniently located in San Tan Village Mall and less than 5 minutes away from where I live. I also like that they have appointments as early as 8:30 am because I am an early riser and like to get done with a lot of things before noon hits! I especially love my stylist, Whitney L. Unlike many stylists I had before, she's so laid back and easy going. I hate going to salons where both the stylists and customers are stuck up! I always get compliments from co-workers on my cut after visiting Whitney L. I did knock a star for the location being a little smaller than other T&G's I been to in the past and the fact that the waiting area is in direct sun which during the Arizona summers is less than ideal! But overall, I am very happy with this location and go back monthly for an eyebrow wax and free fringe trim! read more

I went to Toni&Guy for hair trim and color... I wanted to go back to my natural hair color which is Dark brown. I told the guy i wanted Dark brown , the entire time i was sitting on the stool before and after the procedure he always touch my shoulder with his both hands everytime he has to say something he would touch my shoulder , i was shocked and i dont know how to react and i didnt want to make a scene. It was so uncomfortable feeling! And on top of that he dyed my hair JetBlack i look like im wearing wig because my hair is sooo black! And i paid a little over $200 for that( i have a long thin hair) i dont know the breakdown since they didn't give me receipt! As soon as i left the salon, i called them to inform them about what happed ,the lady i talked to asked if she should tell the mngr and i said yes you should! I'll begin by saying, I've been coming here for 8 years because I do absolutely love the color of my hair after I have services here. However, I have to say that I think it's disgusting that the business is now charging people a $7 "health fee" and requiring masks be worn (even if you bring your own). I can not wear one due to my own health issue and while I would consider doing this for a couple hours to help protect others the fact that the business seems to feel it's ok to make money off people during this situation is gross at best and horrible business practice. I'm a former business owner. If you choose to provide masks for people bc you are requiring them, then that is YOUR business expense. You don't pass that off on to others to take advantage of people and especially not during a time of extremely high unemployment. Also turnover is pretty high here which makes me wonder about management. read more

Telly is by far the best hair stylist that I have used in the past 5 years or so. She is so consistent and I can say... "Do your thing" and she never disappoints me. One time I brought my young son in to get his hair styled and he said, "cut it like a sea horse" Telly didn't disappoint...... I get my color done by Casey and she is very consistent as well. I have hard to color hair. Several times in my past life have I been upset leaving a salon with yellow highlights instead of Blonde. Casey gets it right every time, I never have to tell her to add toner or anything. Lastly, if you want your hair blown out...Stacey is my girl. She is amazing and her blowouts last a long time. I wish I could do that at home lol.... I love the hours of this salon.. You can go on weekends and at night. You can also pay for the experience level of the stylist or colorist that is working on your hair. I have used Tony and Guy for a long time and in other states. This crew is the best I have found. I know when you move into town, it's so hard to find the right stylist. You have to give these ladies a try! read more
