Went in with genuinely the worst haircut I had ever had. Choppy "layers", uneven cuts, and what can only be described as giving a toddler a pair of craft scissors and saying "have fun" for $25. I called AZ Hair Co. during the drive home and they got me in right away for an appointment. Jaden managed to salvage as much of my hair as she humanly could and gave me a haircut I genuinely like. Maddie (Mattie?) my stylist seemed inattentive. That cut was only $16.50, so not much was expected. It included a basic wash, no introductions, no small talk and seemingly no input in what I wanted for my hair. She did not brush off the hair left on my neck after cutting and didn't really seem like she wanted to be there. Regardless of the above mentioned, my hair looks awful. She didn't bother to make sure the layers laid well or framed my face. It looks choppy and embarrassing. **The receptionist and other stylists seemed more charismatic but I won't be returning. They're open seven days a week, so that's a perk! read more

When I first walked in I specifically asked who was good with haircuts and the girl at the desk said EVERYONE. That was a flat out lie. The stylist was nice, extremely knowledgeable, and knew almost exactly the haircut and styling I was looking for, so the whole appointment took no more than 30 minutes. Just got my hair cut, colored, and styled. What a great atmosphere! All the stylists are fun and smiley. I went in not knowing what to do with my hair and the stylist looked at my hair and made a few suggestions. A few others chimed in and we reached a conclusion to do a balayage. Staff is very friendly and talkative. My highlights turned out great! My only complaint would be a lack of professionalism with some of the gals. I have been to two different ladies and they smelled like smoke. This is a big turn off and I have chosen a different hair salon because of it. Barb did a wonderful job on me!! First of all I contacted them in the morning and told them I had issues with fitting in the salon chair. Barb contacted me back and said they could give me a different chair to sit in and got me in same day! She was very kind and best of all very knowledgeable about her job. She knows how to color very well and she knows currant styles. She fixed a previous bad haircut and gave me a cool angular bob with a very beautiful lavender color job. I was so worried the color would be too vibrant at first but it's perfect. If you go to this salon I would recommend having her as a stylist. read more

I get my hair done by Maddy. Great work. Highlights are always amazing. However. I give 3 stars for salon its self. It is plain. Not decorated modern or up to date but the most annoying part is the other staff are loud and having many side conversations with themselves and not their customers....specifically talking this time about a 3lb poop one staff member had. I will be back for Maddy but the loud constant noise of side conversations was giving me a headache and the poop part was over the top. read more

I've had long hair my entire life, down to my waist or even my lower back. I wanted to finally try chopping it all off into a bob for the first time. I also have never added any color to my hair before. My appointment was with Alisha, and it was for the cut and caramel highlights. She did a great job and I'm so glad that I ended up going to her. Nothing was rushed, she took her time and was so focused the whole time. She would give me time to dry my hair off and keep checking on my hair to make sure that the coloring came out as I imagined. She was a perfectionist and I could tell she paid such close attention to every detail on my hair. Even the way she would part my hair, she would not settle until the parting line was just perfect for her. I absolutely loved Alisha's service there, and her close attention to details, especially since I was getting such a major change. Thank you Alisha!! You're awesome! Better off going to great clips. There were three employees and the girl who cut my hair took about 45 min to cut a half inch off a crew cut. She had no idea what she was doing and had to get the manager 4 times during the haircut because "she didn't know what to do." The manager told her what to do to my hair and walked away and left the girl no clue what to do all 4 times. She messed up my entire head and I still had to pay for it. WORST customer service I've ever experienced in my whole life. I made this yelp account just to write this review. I had to go to great clips to get it fixed up right after because my hair was so uneven, patchy and not what I asked for at all. I did a walk in the day prior and a stylist told me to come back 2 hours later. That I understood since they had people in their chairs. I had a conflict, so I asked to make an appointment for the next day (today) same time 615pm. The stylist said how about 6pm. I said can't do 6, I am coming from work and have a conference call. The stylist then verbally confirmed 615. This evening I arrived and completed my phone call parked directly in-front of the salon. ZERO clients in the salon. 2 stylists were chatting on their cell phones and eating. Walking in and out of the salon. When I opened my car door, they both ran to the back of the salon. I walked in at 6:07pm The woman asked how she could help me and I said I was there for a 615appt. Happened to be the same woman from the night before. She told me I was late and there is no one available to do my hair, the person scheduled to my hair has a 6:30pm appointment. I asked if anyone else was available tonight and she said nope. It was obvious my presence was an inconvenience and she just wanted me to leave. I said, I was going to take my business elsewhere and she said "good". After I walked out of the salon they both went back to talking on their phones and eating. Worst experience with a salon ever! It is sad since I had gone to this location in the past (it has been a few years) and the stylists and manager prior were friendly and worked with the clients, even walk-ins to secure the client was able to get a hair cut. read more

Ashley was awesome! She cut my hair exactly how I wanted It! She is very friendly, and easy to talk with while getting my hair done! I usually don't trust many people with cutting my hair, but when I do decided to get a trim or style I love and trust Ashley! ASHLEY also did a good job cutting and styling my mom's hair! My mom is going thru chemo and she has had long hair most of her life. My mom made the decision to cut her hair very short so that when she starts losing her hair it would not be so dramatic. Well I took my Mom to go see Ashley, and of course Ashley did a awesome job with the hair cut! My mom was sooo happy! Barbara - I just have to say, "the best cut and color ever and it didn't break my bank"! Yesterday I went to Barb at AZ Hair @ Gilbert /Riggs based on some reviews posted from her previous AZ Hair location. I have gone to way too many places spending way too much money for an end result: broke and not what I ever asked for! I randomly pulled a hair picture I liked from pinterest I told her, "I want this". She looked at the assortment of low lights and highlights, grabbed her bowls, did it quickly, and gave me a fantastic price. End result; my pocket book was still full of cash, my hair was GORGEOUS, and I felt beautiful! It was exactly what I showed her all the way to the style. This is pure talent. I would highly recommend her, for those of you in my position, its not even a question you will love her. UPDATED 8/4/17 I will not be back. I went to have my re- growth done, from the orginial service done 6/15. I ended up with bleach touch up, and brass roots. (Yes she did tone the brass roots, but at a price) I left there not really sure I was happy. A week later I made it back to the salon (due to a working schedule) and asked to add some low lights, as my previous coloring experience, with the cooper and red colors. I got approx 8 foils of ORANGE! I left there with wet hair (this was my request). When I got home I looked in the mirror to the dry hair it was awful! The issue I have is I paid additional charges for this(low light request), (not to mention the first charges from 7/28/17 debacle this doesnt include the tips and coffee I purchased. I had to find somewhere else to go to at the last minute to fix because I couldnt go back to work like this. This was a horrible experience. read more

Thoroughly annoyed. I had a hair cut appointment at 10am, which I had set a week in advance. On my way to the appointment I realized my wallet was not in my purse, so I had to run home and grab it. I respectfully called to let them know I would be about 5 minutes late. I arrive 6 minutes late and Maddie had taken another customer in front of me. I had to work at 11 so I was in a time crunch. I asked if the girl that was free could take me in real quick, as I just needed the ends off. She replied 'I have an appointment coming in'. It would have been nice if I received that same respect, since 'I had an appointment'. After waiting 20 minutes I kindly said I was going to have to leave because I started work at 11. Then I was given dirty looks and told "Well.. You were late." In the most rude manner!! I have had my haircut here before and they did a decent job - but customer service is #1 ALWAYS. And this place has no respect for their customers or their customers time. I do not recommend this place if you at all value how you are treated as a customer. read more

The best way to describe this place is "underwhelming." The haircut I received was mediocre. The service wasn't great, and the hairdresser said less than 10 words to me. It's basically a glamorized Cost Cutters. This place may be fine for trims and kids, but it's certainly no "salon." You get what you pay for with this place. read more

Well I originally had a hair appointment with Great Clips for a perm today. I have a couple of issues that I typically like to tell the hairdresser when they are washing my hair. It doesn't take me the full 20 minutes to process due to thyroid issues. It usually is done in 12. I also have problems with rinsing my hair putting my neck in the sink backwards in the bowl with the rods on my neck is painful. I told the gal at Great Clips as she was washing my hair and she said she will get fined $500.00 if she lets me do that. I've been having my hair permed for over 35 years and have never heard that before. I asked her if someone else could do my hair and she said no. So, I walked out with my hair dripping wet. FORTUNATELY, on my way home, I saw Arizona Hair and walked in with my hair still wet and Marcie the receptionist was on the phone. After she got off the phone and graciously had me talk to Ashley their manager. Ashley was able to fit me in, process my hair in 12 minutes AND rinse my hair with me standing up! THANK YOU ASHLEY AND MARCIE FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM! i WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK! read more

This place is not an expensive salon. It's a simple place to go and get a basic cut, color, style. The hair-care professionals are not experienced, but competent and super nice. The best things about this place are convenience and cost. I wouldn't trust the inexperienced young women to color my hair, mostly because my natural color is red and it's tricky to make color look natural. I'll continue to use them for cuts and blowouts. read more
