Have been here 3 summers in a row and made Tonino's pizza my go to place at least 3 or 4 times each summer. Food is good. Service, likewise. But last week, well I got to tell you it was an experience. My wife and I had finished our slices and we're getting ready to leave when we look up to see this guy at the counter with a full grown boa constrictor around his neck and the snake's head was extended about 2' above his head and about 3' above the sample pizzas behind the counter. Now I know people like to get attention but, hey come on. I've heard the horror stories about "emotional support animals" but let's get real. My wife let out a screech. The guy looked at her and smiled. Mission accomplished. I paid the bill and left. Counter service was taking his order as I left. I was really disappointed that the counter service didn't tell him to "take that snake and leave". It just doesn't make sense. I won't go back. I know I'm only one customer but who knows what kind of bacteria or viruses or carrion laden stuff these things carry. This place is open late, which is great! I came by to get takeout at 9 pm last Friday. The pizza was decent, not the best, but not bad. Definitely not dry. I liked the sauce. The grilled shrimp salad was very tasty. But the tortellini soup was not good. It was like dirty water with some pieces of dumping and meat, not one complete tortellini, and little flavor. I think I would go back here of it was late at night but otherwise, I'd probably do some here else. read more

They used to be good. Then a few years ago I got a really bad seafood dinner, and they said they would replace when I was ready. Went there several more times, then when I wanted the replacement, Hector said he knew nothing... Quit going, then a few months ago, gave them another try, and even though I mentioned they lost my business for two years (usually at least 2 meals a week) they still never gave me any kind of refund or discount. A couple months ago, I ordered pasta with meat sauce, and they gave me meatballs instead. That was a screw up, but it was edible, just not what I wanted. But yesterday was the preverbal straw. I ordered pasta with meat sauce, which was alright, but I also ordered Shrimp Primavera, which really sucked. Shrimp were like chewing rubber, for about $20.00 While waiting for my order, which they screwed up, because some of it was done in 20 minutes, while the rest took another fifteen, I told my story to the guy at the counter, about how I got screwed in the past. And how it showed a total lack of intelligence to lose hundreds of dollars in business for two years, instead of giving me the twenty buck refund. When I called them about the bad shrimp dinner, I asked them what I should do for a refund? They suggested that they replace the meal last night, which was now close to 8:30, and over fifteen minutes away. I said I just wanted a refund, so they told me I had to bring it back today. So I did. As soon as I walked in, he handed me a twenty and didn't say anything about the food. He said he only charged me $18.95 but was giving me twenty. So wrong... Who makes you bring back substandard food instead of just saying come in at your convenience and we'll give you a refund. Instead, I went out of my way, to drive home, even though I was in the area, to get the crap they served me, just to return it. Not going there for two years was easy, so it's going to be really easy to never go there again. I can't understand how any business can be so cheap that they would give up future business and get bad reviews, for a twenty dollar bill. read more

Heard so much about this place, had to try it. Decided to order take out pie. How do I say this. The Sicilian pie with sausage pepper onions and broccoli. Price was VERY reasonable, and pie was extremely good. However, my Dad coming from the old country would not have liked it. His comment to any Sicilian food: HA, Mine is better, and your mother's was better than mine. Bottom line, wife and I enjoyed the pie, very much. We are moving into the area, and will most definitely be back. We did have some trouble ordering on line, and we were missing a topping when we received the pie. One of the if not the best casual eats in the Poconos. Don't get me wrong there are other good place to eat but Toninos is just plain awesome. The food is fresh and delicious. I have never had something that I didn't love. The portions are big and the prices are extremely good. You get a lot for your money in terms of portions and taste. I love Toninos! The service is always fast and friendly. I LOVE their sauce recipe. Their manicotti and ravioli are delicious. Their salads while simple, are always fresh and you get to put your own dressing on (which is a huge plus for those who don't like over dressed salads). Their Garlic bread is fresh and delicious. I went into tonino pizzeria and ordered 2 large pizza pies to go. I had 4 kids at home ready to enjoy pizza during a slumber party my wife and I arranged. As I'm waiting for the pies to be done I was just pacing around the pizzeria talking on the phone. The 2 employees thought I wasn't looking or paying attention. As I look up the employee in the back grabbed his nose and blew straight into his hands and wiped the snot on his clothes and kept working. I was completely disgusted and furious. I scream at both of them, "I can't believe what you just did!!!! Are you kidding me? What the hell is wrong with you? They both looked at me and couldn't even say a word. At a time when the flu is at it's all time high and kids are dying from getting sick he obviously didn't care. So just imagine what takes place when no one is really looking. this place should be shut down completely. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. Great pizza. We eat there about once or twice a month. They have a great family deal for $20 that was the original reason we stopped in. Have not tried the rice ball yet, but it's on my list.
