I've ordered here so many times but this is my first time at the location. Small little spot with maybe 6 tables. Loved the ambiance with all the anime characters. In terms of food, definitely tasted better eating at the location that ordering through uber eats. They have some solid combos for a reasonable price. I got these. Spicy Roasted Garlic Ramen - We got the combo and chose karaage Chicken as the extra dish. The ramen broth is strong but very tasty. Definitely one of the better bowl of ramens I've had. One negative was the egg was fully cooked and not yolky, bummer! (4.5/5) Karaage Chicken - It's good, not super crispy but flavors were good. It's a classic! (4/5) Chicharito Roll - How many rolls have hot cheetos on them. It was a fun yet pretty tasty roll. We enjoyed it. (4.5/5) Overall, loved that this spot is local to my house. When I'm craving ramen its definitely a nice spot to visit as food is pretty solid and the combo deals are great. In total for these 3 dishes I spent $36. Note - They do charge a 2% credit card fee for using CC. Parking - They have a small lot but it's 30 minute parking so eat fast!

本格的な日本のラーメンが食べたいなら、この店には行かないでください。残念ながら、かなりアメリカナイズされていて、地元の人の味覚に合わせて作られています。 Went with a higher expectation because of rating, but unfortunately was met with mediocre/average Ramen. It's good for those who want something similar to ramen. However, it's not for those who have been to Japan and have eaten authentic ramen. The majority of the food seemed to be premade, and the food came out relatively quick. The ramen noodles were very al dente. The server was kind enough. As for the ambience, it killed the dining experience. The restaurant itself was too cold (need to change AC temperature), the music they had playing was too loud (we couldn't even talk to each other comfortably), tables were cleaned but a little sticky (maybe just our table). Although I do understand why the shop owners would play music loudly, because the neighboring shops had loud music as well. Unfortunately, it was not good for groups larger than six. If you're looking for any sugar-free fountain drinks, they do not have that option, they have is cans of diet soda. The majority of the drinks super sugary, canned juice, milk tea and soda. So if you're diabetic, stay away from that, maybe bring your own drink (cause water is your best "option"). The portions were OK. Unfortunately, the Ramen did miss the bamboo shoots. My Japanese spouse who works at a Japanese company and explained that there is a bamboo shortage. So you have to be comfortable eating the wood ear fungus as the alternative. As for the black garlic Ramen, you would not get much of the oil and the spicy Ramen had too much Korean gochujang. If I could, I would be happy to check out how they prepare their bone broth. It was a bit too greasy feeling. Please note that we would love to try their other foods, however, but the price market that they have, we don't see it as something we would wanna try again. But, if you wanna try something in the neighborhood, I can make other recommendations. I hope the owners read this, and take it with a grain assault. Not trying to be mean, but, trying to help them improve.

The restaurant is different in a good way. Has anime characters on the wall. The waitress was very friendly and polite. The order was quick and plated nicely. The tantanemen was very good. Full of flavor and just made well. The soup was delicious. The fried rice was good, for me I would have liked some black pepper but a great fried rice. The street tacos were tasty and very reasonably priced. Was in El Monte for a car service, this will be my go to place to eat while waiting for my car.

So excited this ramen spot is near my house because this will be my go to ramen spot now. The restaurant is small inside and the decorations are so fun. The service was fantastic. I ordered the hakata ramen and the broth was solid! The chasu was perfection. My husband got the spicy ramen and liked it too. We thoroughly enjoyed that the ramen came out piping hot just as it should be. The karage chicken was good too. We look forward to trying out their sushi next time!

My Honey and I came here for dinner. We ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, and (4) Pork Sausages. Our food arrived quickly and hot! All of it tasted very good and flavourful. The service here was attentive and professional . The ambiance was relatively quite.

Our server was so nice and awesome his name is Apolo im not sure if i spelled it correctly. He checked in on us multiple times. The food was delicious and nicely plated. Such a good vibe as soon as you walk in. I will definitely come back.

The food is alright for the price--you basically get what you pay for. But the servers and the overall experience were honestly disappointing. Let's start with the service. It was our first time coming here, and my partner and I were excited because the place has a lot of high ratings on Yelp. Right when we walked in, there was a poster saying, "Please wait for the server before sitting down." As soon as the server approached us, all he said was, "Hello, for 2?" As a former server, new or returning customers should still be greeted properly with a "Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Good evening." Instead, he just pointed and said, "You can sit wherever you want." Fast forward to ordering-- The menu looks good and appealing, but once the food comes out, especially the ramen, it's a different story. They serve it in a plain white bowl and it came out messy. The outside of the bowl had broth splashed around it, and no one bothered to wipe it before serving. The taste of the ramen honestly reminded me of instant cup noodles. Since it was our first time, I also expected the server to at least mention any promotions or ask if we've been there before, but nope. We were just handed the menus and left alone until it was time to order. When we finished eating, I noticed the servers just standing around chatting, laughing, and playing with the card reader instead of paying attention to customers. Not professional at all. When we left, they didn't even say "Thank you," "Come again," or "Have a good night." Nothing. The place is also very small and crowded. Several people were coughing really loud without covering their mouths. Maybe the food was spicy, but damn--have some manners. If you don't mind inhaling other people's breath, then this place is for you. Just nasty. The lighting is way too bright. There's no vibe at all--it literally feels like eating cup noodles at home. The brightness also makes the dirt on the walls, tables, and chairs way too noticeable. If they dimmed the lights a bit, at least the place wouldn't feel so harsh. Overall, this place is a 1-2 star experience for us. Not recommended if you're looking for quality food and quality service.

They were friendly and greeted us and sat us down right away. The food was really good and flavorful. I got the tonkotsu it wasn't as creamy as other places but it was filled with flavor chashu was very good and soft. First place I finish my noodles and have chashu left. The milk tea was good. The prices were really good too. We shall be back.

I love the design of this place! Biased though cause I love the anime design they put up. lol very happy and surprised they have a ramen place so close to where I live! I will definitely come here more often. They have a good amount of specials and the ramen is pretty good. The staff is friendly and knowing anime is a plus haha take a look at my pics to see what I got but all was pretty delish! :

EXCELLENT RAMEN WITH JAPANESE FLARE…read more I've visited more than a few Daikokuya locations, and I have to admit that this location is my favorite. The Ramen has never let me down. The service is great. The inside decor is reminiscent to what I have encountered when visiting Japan and is basically how many divey ramen restaurants in Japan look like. Moreover, they serve Orion beer here. Whenever I am in the area and am craving some ramen, this my go-to Daikokuya for ramen.

The noodles for me were just slightly too overcooked for my taste, but it wasn't a big deal. The tea egg was good with a just above jammy interior texture. The chashu was great though. It was very tender with no strange pork smell to it. It tasted fresh. I got the ramen with small rice bowl and salad combo. The rice bowl was alright as well. I got the pork cutlet and egg. I wanted the pork cutlet to be crispy, but the breading on the outside was soggy. The overall flavor was fine though. It had a braised, sweet soy sauce type of flavor to it. The salad was made of shredded cabbage and carrots with a creamy dressing on top that reminds me a lot of thousand island dressing. The slight bitterness from the raw cabbage paired well with the sweeter flavors of the dressing and the carrots. Service was okay.

The…read moreother two ordered tsukemen ($26.50 for the spicy deluxe and $23.50 for the spicy chasu) and found it very salty because they chose to consume it not by dipping the noodles in the bowl of broth, but rather by pouring all the broth from the bowl into the noodles, trying to recreate a normal bowl of ramen. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

I know they owned Killer Noodle and brought it back for a day or so during some weeks, but still. I feel like I can partly blame those who can't handle spice, numbing or not, and or people with generally normie tastes. Anyways, enough of that diatribe. Parking can get horrible and fisted here, even though there's parking in the pit. The best bet is to just park at the 99 Ranch Market across the street and walk over. This restaurant also gets super busy too and there's limited tables and seating inside for how popular it is. They did collabs too, like the Naruto one. There were instructions on how to properly eat tsukemen and staff was friendly and polite too. I know they tried to make the ambiance a bit nicer and fancier, but with the constant slew of customers and people, you can only do so much. Since it's a tsukemen restaurant, I always just got tsukemen here. I'd get the spicy chashu tsukemen. Comes with a generous portion of chashu pork and is made with their homemade spices. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, a slice of lime to squeeze in for taste, green onions and a sheet nori. After dipping the noodles, you can ask for soup wari to eat the rest of the broth in. It's a delicious and hefty portion and sorta justifies the $30 for a bowl of tsukemen thing. Flavorful broth with a depth of delicious spices. Nice thick noodles that absorb the broth nicely. I like that you get a good amount of chashu. Adding the lime makes the noodles a bit more refreshing if you get a bit tired of the taste. Spicy doesn't make it spicy at all, but at the very least gave a bit of heat to it. There's other Tsujitas out there, just now a bit farther.

Most importantly, the food was amazing. We tried the ramen, the yakitori platter, and the special Taiwanese pork bun, and every dish was delicious and full of flavor. When she asked if it was our first time visiting, we said yes, and she introduced a few menu items. However, when we ended up ordering only three bowls of ramen because we felt that would be enough, she seemed noticeably unhappy with our order. After placing our order, we waited about 20 minutes for our food. While we were waiting, I jokingly told my friend, "This place better be good if we're waiting this long it better be worth it." The table next to us overheard and replied, "It's just alright." At the time we laughed and thought they were being tough critics, but after getting our food, we completely understood what they meant. When the ramen arrived, it looked very basic, like premade or store-bought noodles that could easily be replicated at home. The ramen included only half of an egg, and it wasn't even prepared like a traditional ramen egg. The portion size was also surprisingly small. I finished my bowl in about three minutes and felt like I spent more time waiting than actually eating. We were still hungry after finishing our meals and ended up going elsewhere for tacos afterward. For the price and wait time, we expected a much more satisfying meal. Unfortunately, between the service, attitude, food quality, and portion sizes, this was not a memorable dining experience for the right reasons. This was our first visit, and it will be our last.

Menya Hanabi is a Japanese noodle shop specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a type of soupless…read moreramen that focuses on mixing noodles with flavorful toppings instead of relying on a traditional broth. We walked into a casual ramen shop atmosphere, the kind of place that works well for a quick and satisfying meal rather than a long dining experience. The space is functional and focused, with a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba along with a few sides and drinks. The main reason to visit is the mazesoba, and it delivers a completely different experience from typical ramen. The noodles have a chewy texture and are meant to be mixed thoroughly with the toppings, sauce, and egg yolk to bring everything together. We tried the Nagoya-style combination of spicy minced pork, green onions, seaweed, garlic, and other toppings, and found the bowl rich and layered, with each bite getting better as everything blended together. The deluxe versions add more toppings and make the dish feel more complete, while the spice level can be adjusted depending on how much heat you prefer. The richness of the sauce and toppings is balanced by the brightness of the egg yolk and the crunch of the onions, keeping the dish from feeling one-dimensional. The restaurant also offers options like takoyaki and matcha drinks, which add variety to the meal. The matcha latte is a nice contrast to the heavier noodle dishes, while the sides work well for sharing or adding something extra to the table. Since mazesoba is naturally a heavier dish, the balance of toppings and textures helps keep the meal from feeling too rich, and the sides offer a lighter counterpoint. Service is quick and the experience moves efficiently, which fits the casual style of the restaurant. Menya Hanabi can get crowded during busy hours, and waits are possible, but the focused menu and flavorful bowls make it worth adding to a noodle rotation. It is a great spot if you want to try something different from traditional ramen, delivering a meal that feels both intentional and satisfying, with a concept that is simple but executed in a way that makes the noodles stand out.
