Came to visit friends in Arcadia, and for dinner we decided to try this ramen spot in Arcadia that opened last year. The first thing we noticed when walking in was TBaar, a boba tea shop. The ramen restaurant is located right next door inside the same space. What surprised me was that their menu includes Taiwanese-style gua bao and popcorn chicken! It feels like an Asian fusion concept created with the American market in mind. This is currently their only location in California, with another location in Las Vegas. Most of their other locations are on the East Coast and in Illinois. The interior is definitely unique, with large lanterns, archways, honeycomb-style seating, individual dining areas, and lots of decorative details throughout the space. Luckily, we arrived before 6 PM and got seated right away. Not long after we sat down, a crowd started coming in and there was already a line forming. After looking through the menu for a while, we decided to order: #1 Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen (Black Garlic) $17.99 (They mentioned this one has sold over 500,000 bowls nationwide.) My husband ordered this one and tried all the broths. He thought this had the best flavor overall. #2 Braised Pork Belly Ramen $18.99 (This was one of their featured menu items in 2024.) This was my choice. The noodles were generous, and the pork belly was so dark in color that it almost looked like beef. We actually had to double-check that it was pork! #3 Mega Ramen (Tempura) $19.99 The garlic flavor was quite strong in this broth. #6 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen $18.99 (This is one of their most popular choices in New York.) It does have a noticeable level of spice, so if you can only handle a little heat, this one might not be the best choice. Side dishes: Gua Bao (2 pcs) $9.49 Popcorn Chicken (3 orders) $26.97 Pan-fried Dumplings $8.99 Japanese Fries (2 orders) $15.98 Strawberry Banana Smoothie $6 One fun detail: the bottom of each ramen bowl has a message showing either a prize or a "thank you for visiting." Out of our four bowls, one came with a dessert coupon, but it can only be used on a future visit. Overall, the ramen was pretty good and the presentation was fun. The only downside was that my mouth felt quite dry afterward, probably because the broth was on the heavier side. Kyuramen x TBaar - Arcadia 7 Las Tunas Dr Suite B, Arcadia, CA 91007

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. During peak business hours, you might struggle to find parking, so come early! Each parking spot is a decent size. Not too wide nor too narrow. Food: I ordered the Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic and fresh passion fruit tea with rainbow jelly with 25% ice and 25% sweetness. I like that we can customize the sweetness and ice level. Although my drink was supposed to be 25% sweet, it still felt a bit too sweet to me TBH. Thankfully, I just mixed it with water to dilute it. The rainbow jellies were super soft and flavorful. People who know me know that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ramen. I'm a ramen aficionado. Lol The Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic ramen contains their signature pork-broth bowl featuring chashu pork, bamboo shoots, wakame, half a marinated egg, nori, corn, and scallion. The thinly sliced chashu pork was tender and juicy. The soft-boiled egg was marinated in a sweet and salty soy-based sauce. Loved the perfectly jammy yolks and deep umami flavor. The bamboo shoots, wakame, nori, corn, and scallion all enhanced the flavor of this dish. The shining star of this dish was obviously the broth. This dish contains a rich and creamy pork bone broth seasoned with umami-packed soy sauce. The white garlic adds a signature sweet, pungent, and toasty aroma that perfectly cuts through the heavy fat of the broth. The ramen was cooked perfectly al dente. Would definitely order this again. Staff: The staff here are very attentive, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Another dinner with my daughter. Kyuramen x TBaar has a modern Japanese-inspired interior, bamboo details, and lantern-style lighting. I enjoyed the beehive-style seating. It gives each table a little more privacy, making it a great place for date night. Or, in our case... another mommy-and-me date night. I was a little disappointed they didn't serve hot tea as I always order a hot cup of tea with my meal. We ordered two A1 Classic Combos ($24.99 each). Each combo came with a bowl of Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, a steamed pork bao bun, and matcha pudding with red bean. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen The broth was rich and creamy. Overall, the ramen was okay. Steamed Pork Bao Bun The bun was soft and fluffy, and the pork was tender. It was the best part of the meal. Matcha Pudding with Red Bean Neither my daughter nor I liked this dessert. It would be a great addition if we had choices for the dessert. The service could improve. Aside from bringing out our food, there wasn't much interaction with the staff.

Not only is the place aesthetic and so fun to look at, but the food was actually really good too! My favorites were the yingyang ramen bowl, the honeycomb platter, chicken wings, and the matcha tiramisu. Food comes out really quick and service is very quick too!

Kyu, as in Japanese for 9. Ramen, as in Japanese for ramen. Honestly I've tried pretty much everything here, and the omu rice with curry is the thing that puts this place on the map. The ramen isn't better than Ramen Nagi, not better than Daikoluya, not better than Shinsengumi, and the list goes on. The skewers are thick, dry, tough, tasteless. The rice burger becomes a sloppy mess. The omu rice though? That is on point! Omu rice (5/5) Perfectly prepped football shaped gooey omelette that bleeds over your fried rice when cut, paired with probably Vermont brand curry sauce. Like, even if it was store bought instant curry, the biggest thing about this, is the egg. If you ever tried to make Omurice yourself, you'll gain a full and proper appreciation of this dish. Egg, fried rice, curry, that's all there is to this, but... Getting that liquidty gooey-ness, I've had a hard time finding it anywhere else, and for that reason, this place gets 5/5. I'd caution my readers to level set their expectations for everything else, and also take note of just how many people have Omurice on their tables, if you don't have at least that, you're doing it wrong. I hope you guys enjoy this place as much as I did!

I came here for the Omurice and it did not disappoint!! I ordered the omurice, shio ramen, yakitori platter, and takoyaki- the best one was the omurice. Ramen and takoyaki was good too but I wouldn't get the yakitori platter again- it was just alright. Thai tea was good; there's alot of drink options because the store is with TBaar. The ambiance is really nice inside; I really like how they did the interior! Service was good- server was nice! Anyways, I'd come back to eat the omurice again!

Stopped by Kyuramen x TBaar after a work event and was blown away by their honeycomb seating arrangement. I've never seen one of these before and really wanted to sit in one of them but it was full. I ordered one of their Strawberry Banana smoothies which was super sweet and okay. They had a steak ramen that they were either serving for a limited time or it was a new menu item. I thought it was unique for a ramen option and actually enjoyed it. The steak was a bit chewy but honestly not bad at all. We also got their popcorn chicken which was a classic of course. Honestly just a solid spot to if you are in the area!

Service: half-a**Ed This establishment hired half a dozen servers to cover maybe 7 patronized tables....and not a single server came to take my order when the restaurant was practically half empty....not even busy at all on a Sunday night...wow ....so...seated and everyone disappears, until the head manager / owner comes and takes my order. After being seated for more than 15 minutes. No follow up, with how's the food, no feedback loop, c'mon a packed front of the house. Y'all can do a bit better than that. The Honeycomb Sampler Plate: Came after my Ramen, and Takoyaki were finished. Aside from the lobster balls..... everything else on that platter was terrible. Who pairs steamed abalone with Sysco Foods Restaurant Seaweed....c'mon....at least have some kind of garlic wasabi lemon sauce or something to dip the abalone in...who came up with the menu? The Steamed Unagi on Tamago?!???! Are you serious??????! What kind of pairing is that...both are sweet, both are cold, Unagi is supposed to be paired with something hot like hot sushi rice to bring out the fatty elements of that eel....Tamago?!?!! The edamame was mediocre, you probably get better edamame at the other franchise Ramen place--- Jinya and Koppan Ramen, heck Slurpin Ramen in City of Industry does better Edamame. Ya. The sample platter is a joke, it should be taken off. As for the Shoyu Steak Ramen bowl, I could only give it 3.5/5. Stick with the Spicy Tonkatsu or the miso flavor based ramen here. I just feel anything with beef noodles and soup need a more earthy, anise based soup and the Shoyu doesn't do the beef any justice. Matcha Pudding was a disaster. I didn't even finish it. So I didn't come out here early on when this location opened. Having tried the Memphis Tennessee location I was blown away. The degree of attention the Memphis Staff put into this franchise, makes the Arcadia location look like the little leagues. Los Angeles is a Alpha World City, and I expect that level of management in a restaurant located in that environment. Food for thought.

My coworkers and I decided on a random Tuesday to go visit this place due to all its hype about their hive vibes. So worth the drive here from work. Every food item was served warm and with care. Chris was awesome . He was so kind and patient with us, especially when we kept asking questions about the menu or asking for more items he made the experience that much better. This restaurant had really good service and great tasting food. Their selection of teas is another great thing g about this place; so many to choose from. Their popular omelet rice is worth the try .

We come here at least every other month, so far we won every prize except for the free ramen. Yes we did win a free desert, my kids aren't a fan of the desert. We do love their ramen and omurice with curry. We always get to sit in the honeycomb but my kids want to set on top but sadly it's for 2 people. Everything great here especially customer service! Love this place and it's so close to home.

SAPARRO MISO RAMEN! The bowl of ramen I got might have been my fave ever. Service was great! I really liked the concept of having a reward at the bottom of the ramen bowl. I feel like it really motivates people to eat all the food they order = less food waste! If you come here and are seated NOT in a honeycomb, DO NOT SIT IN FRONT OF ONE! The way the honeycomb is shape will amplify the voices and sounds coming from whoever is sitting in there. Honestly, my least favorite part of this experience. I had to put earplugs on! I swear the people weren't even speaking that loudly, but every laugh was soooooo sharp. Besides the placement of my table, I think all the other tables probably did not have the same issue as me.

Finally got around to trying this place. Came here on a Sunday evening and was glad that there were no longer any long waits for this place. The service was great and the staff members were friendly and attentive. The ambiance was quite unique. Now, on to the food. I tried their Yinyang bowl which consisted of half tonkotsu shouyu ramen and half miso ramen. This was highly recommended but I did feel slightly disappointed with the flavors and quality of the dish. I also tried their classic Japanese omurice combo with a curry sauce and their amazing lemonade. I was impressed with their lemonade and also enjoyed their popcorn chicken.

On a weekend, we ended up looking for drink deal on apps and found TBaar which is closest to us and offer deal on strawberry banana smoothie. The TBaar is actually part of Kyuramen, I almost thought the map is wrong, it does have another entrance on left of Ramen restaurant, but it's not that visible. Service is okay as I pickup my online order via Check in at front of Ramen restaurant. The store decor on ramen is tradition, the TBaar does look like Jamba Juice type. Finally the strawberry banana smoothies, for me it taste like strawberry banana Icee. I thought it's mostly juice. However, my younger one likes it. So I am giving this a 4/5, to me the drink is 3.5.

Ask the Community - Kyuramen x TBaar

Is the broth supposed to have a bitter taste to it? I found that strange which made me not want to drink the soup.

It could be when the broth is so rich because ramen broth is boiled for so many hours. My friend asks the same question when we dine in, but I try her bowl and don't feel the way that l that she tastes. Maybe I love rich broth? I have tried couple…

Do they serve plain rice for a side?

    I believe you can.

Does the ramen pork broth or katsu contain any dairy or peanut oil?

There wasn't any dairy but you should call the restaurant and ask about the peanut oil. Businesses do not check the Yelp page so they may not even see your questions.

Apple app said pet friendly, is dog allowed?

Why do you want to bring your pet into a restaurant? Leave the pets at home!!

    Do u have waitlist?

The restaurant does have wait list, and you will be contacted by text message.

    Do they take reservation?

They only take reservations for party of 8 of more. And you can only put your name on waitlist at the store, they don't allow to call in or online waitlist - which is super inconvenient and really out of today's Digital Touch.

Is this a real Japanese restaurant?

Does this place accommodate a party of 1? I know there are some restaurants out there that don't accept parties of 1.

Yes it does I saw a few single people

Do they serve omurice? I saw videos of omurice here on TikTok but don't see it on their menu.

Yes, they do serve omurice! There are two options, Classic Japanese Omurice Combo or Pork Tonkatsu Omurice Combo both with choice of curry or demiglace sauce.

We ordered Okinawa soba and miso ramen. For $15 each, it seems like a decent price. We like the broths here. It's rich and deep without a layer of fat on top like most of the ramen shops. The noodles are firm with a nice bite to it. I especially like the Okinawa soba because it uses thicker noodles. The meat is tender and has a sweet flavor to it. If I had to nitpick, they don't have the Okinawa chili vinegar to go with the soba. It's a small shop. The walls are sprayed painted to look like a Japanese night time izakaya vibe. We will definitely come back more often.

I loved the delicious flavors of the sauce, chashu, chives, seaweed, garlic, etc. The sauce is very savory and the noodles were thick too. I wasn't able to finish my bowl and took home a third of it. I wish I had room to finish it! The bowl is super heavy when you lift it so they definitely pack it up! I liked adding the spicy dashi powder to enhance the flavor a little bit more. Service was great. We order on a QR code and just 1 phone to place the order. The food came out quickly and they were friendly as well. The dining area has about 10-12 tables for small groups. It does get packed so come early! I highly recommend for the umami flavor!

We put in our orders in on the phone as usual, and our karaage came out timely, but we had not gotten our mazemen for 30+ minutes, and noticed parties after us had gotten their food. Wondering what happened, we asked and the waitress just looked confused. She also refused to make eye contact with us until we called a cook over (we were sitting at the bar). Then the cook sent her over to confirm our order. (they had received it because they gave us the karaage). No apologies or explanation of the situation, just, "you ordered two mazemen?", then she went back to her station. Confused, we called her back asking what happened. She said she didn't know what happened either, the ticket didn't come out, then walked away. The cook then apologized and upgraded my bowl to deluxe, which was nice. Eventually they ended up giving us a discount, but not once did the younger, female waitress apologize or explain. She also did not check up on our table, which the old waitresses usually do (which is customary for a sit down restaurant). Unprofessional and her attitude was very rude. This is unfortunate because my dad and I really like the food here, but I don't think I'll enjoy my time here anymore. I suggest future customers order directly with the waitress, if she will even walk over to talk to you.

The only downside was the wait to get in since they don't take reservations, and we did seem to be a bit rushed to finish. At the end of the meal,, you have to pay at the front instead of the server bring the check, and the restaurant is cashless, so you can only pay with card. I Food -We got the chicken karaage on the side, and the portion was good. The chicken was juicy and tender, and had a light, crispy batter that had a sweet flavor. I also got the Original King Ramen. It had a good amount of chashu and noodles, although the portion did feel a little small. The tonkotsu broth was light creamy, and really comforting on a cold evening to warm you up.. It wasn't too salty, and it was filling.

The…read moreother two ordered tsukemen ($26.50 for the spicy deluxe and $23.50 for the spicy chasu) and found it very salty because they chose to consume it not by dipping the noodles in the bowl of broth, but rather by pouring all the broth from the bowl into the noodles, trying to recreate a normal bowl of ramen. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

But they also have green onions, ginger, garlic, etc. Got the large Kitsune ramen and man is it good, the fried tofu is nice and sweet, a perfect blend with the savory but clean broth. And the tempura crab is unbelievably crispy on the inside with an almost melting sweet crab inside. 10/10 Service is fast and friendly. I do wish we used our student discount for 15% off, but it was only after we paid and ate that we saw it was a thing. After you order and pay--there's water, sauces, and cutlery to the side. The shichimi chili pepper is so good, the perfect spicy addition to any of their options. I didn't try the tempura dipping sauce but it's also available. The noodles aren't as satisfying as what I'm used to, my udon noodles are a bit more qq, these, while elastic, are a bit softer. But, still really good. Almost all the tables seemed a bit wobbly though, but it really didn't stop me from having a delicious meal. Definitely recommend!

It's been a while, but we loved the original location in little Tokyo. So heavily disappointed this time around. First of all-- SO MANY FLIES!!! I counted fives flies on one customer's purse and at least 15 on the bench. We decided to try to eat at the tables outside even though it was warm, but the flies were extra aggressive. I asked the workers if we could take our food inside the food court and ensure we would bring the trays back since we had our 6 MONTH BABY in the stroller. I was extremely shocked when they did not allow it, esp since we had a baby! We settled at a table with the least amount of flies-- then one of the workers kept swatting them, which just made the situation worse. FOOD-- quality has dipped tremendously. It was fine as "mall food". But noodles did not taste fresh and my broth was too salty. OVERALL- would give a 0 if I could.

Interior is classy, clean, and comfortable. Service can be a little slow depending on how busy it is (on a Saturday during lunch, our 3 sushi combos arrived like 15 minutes after my grandma's chicken udon), but that speaks to the made-to-order quality, so I'm not too bummed.
