    Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen
    Shirley W.

Ordering was very convenient, you don't really need to talk to anyone. Just order at the kiosk upfront and seat anywhere yourself. They bring your order to you. Waiting for the ramen was quite long for what it is... so service wasn't really so quick. I got the tonkatsu ramen bowl and my bf got the spicy version. First impression, it looks pretty basic? First taste, it was just okay haha. Nothing too special. The pork meat was pretty standard, doesn't melt in your mouth. Ramen noodles were decent. Broth of the flavor wasn't as deep as I tried at other places. It also looked a bit too oily. Overall, it was just okay. It does the job for a ramen fix, but that's about it. Tables are semi-clean. Comparable to Kopan ramen, but a dollar cheaper.

I was in the area for work and was craving ramen. Ramen Boiler Room was within a couple miles of my hotel. I ordered the gyoza dumplings and spicy tonkotsu ramen. The dumplings weren't great but they weren't bad either. The ramen was pretty good. The broth had pretty good flavor and the pork was tender. I took my food to go, but I was greeted and the guy behind the counter double checked that I had everything. The restaurant is in a busy retail plaza, so there's plenty of parking.

Had to come back and make sure my first review wasn't a one off. Can confirm still some of the best ramen I've had ever. I don't like ramen. Let me make it clear. This place though is something else. The yuzu sauce is great, the broth is rich, the egg is cooked to perfection. It's the perfect weather for ramen and you should find yourself here.

We actually drove over here after my daughter's soccer game because most of the people in my truck wanted Yogurtland. Once we pulled in, however, my daughter informed me that she was hungry, and asked "dad can we get Ramen?" Without a second thought, we wandered into Ramen Boiler Room. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall of sorts, but inside is clean and modern not looking. The tables and chairs are new, the staff behind the counter greeted us when we walked in, and we ordered it up. Speaking of ordering, it's a self serve touchscreen, but the menu is printed out on a big poster right at the front counter, and selections are pretty straightforward. No gluten-free options here for Mrs. picante, but that's OK. My youngest ordered the spicy, and my daughter and I each got a bowl of regular tonkatsu. I was particularly impressed with the silky pork broth: it was really delicious. The soft boiled egg was just the right amount of runny inside, the noodles have exactly the right chew, and the amount of pork and green onions did not disappoint. We're not frequent visitors to this part of the world, but this was a nice little strip mall Ramen spot. 15 bucks a bowl is about par for the course, and for a quick lunch under 20 bucks, this place passes muster.

With such a name, I thought that this restaurant would have steampunk vibes, but it's just a normal restaurant. Regardless, I'm so glad that I live near the boiler room. My mother is always craving ramen, but I don't because I don't drink pork juice. But luckily for me, this location sells my favorite dish: fried chicken!!! So while I can't speak on the namesake dish of the boiler room, I can say that their fried chicken rice bowl is great. It comes with a generous portion of deliciously breaded chicky chunks and a nice drizzle of garlic mayo (I think?). As a Yelp-certified regular at this boiler room, this is my go-to dish! I came by on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded, but my dish came out really quick. My mother's ramen order on the other-hand, arrived once I was halfway done with my dish. So I guess their ramen is made to order, and everyone was ordering ramen that night.

My friend was craving ramen, so we decided to try this place based on its great reviews and photos, and we're glad we did. When we walked in, the ordering process was a little confusing at first.. they have a kiosk near the cashier, so we thought we needed to order up front. However, the staff let us know we could just grab a table and order by scanning the QR code, and our food would be brought out to us. Once we figured that out, the process was quick and convenient. We both ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and shared the karaage. The ramen had a great level of spice, even for someone like me who doesn't usually go for super spicy dishes. The broth was flavorful, and the toppings were well-balanced. The karaage was also delicious--crispy, juicy, and a great side to share. Overall, the food was well-prepared and enjoyable, and I'd definitely consider coming back when I'm in the mood for ramen again.

I've reviewed Ramen Boiler Room before for their amazing food, but I wanted to give them another shoutout for their customer service. Today I placed a pickup order and realized the Kids Shoyu Ramen was listed as dine-in only. My daughter is home sick, and I specifically wanted the kids ramen because it's lighter and made with less oil and sodium. I called the restaurant to see if there was any way they could make an exception. The employee who answered was very friendly and asked if I could please hold for a moment. After a short wait, I explained the situation, and she immediately said it was no problem and that they would make the exception. She was kind, professional, and even apologized for the brief wait. The food here is always great, but experiences like this are what make customers want to come back. It's refreshing to find a place that genuinely cares about taking care of people. Thank you, Ramen Boiler Room, for the great service and delicious food. That's exactly why we keep coming back.

10/10!! So delicious, so clean and great service! I'm so glad I found this Ramen spot so close to home. I have now been twice and both of my experiences went smoothly. This is one of the best ramen I've had in a while. The employees are so friendly here and just go above and beyond. I LOVE that there's a self service area with to go bowls and bags so you can pack up your food. The place both times looks so clean and you can see the entire kitchen which I love and looks so clean. I will be recommending and returning over and over again.

UMAMI rich and flavorful Seabura Garlic Ramen was bomb! Its chashu meat was perfectly smokey. Im surprised and saddened I discovered this today only. To me, this overtakes Slurpin' Ramen as my favorite. Service was warm and fast. Great ambience! Will definitely be back here to this huge GEM in the San Gabriel Valley in Ramen Boiler Room.:-)

Amazing! LOVE this place. I got the tonkatsu, AMAZING, got the karaage chicken, GREAT, and the spicy tonkatsu, ALSO AMAZING! The service was perfect! The atmosphere... absolutely welcoming! My brother that didn't like tonkatsu now likes tonkatsu because of this place! Would definitely come again!!

Came here along time ago and went to revisit. So glad this place has more than 1 person working now and its busy. It looks like their menu expanded as well. Their ramen is favorful and the meat was soft and tender. I love their kaarage. Dark meat and crispy.

    It was that good! LOL

We were seated in a cozy booth and our server took our drink orders. Pop music from the 90s/2000s blasted from the speakers but it created a fun ambiance! We ordered hot sake, Sapporo beer, chicken karaage, gyoza, yellowtail carpaccio, a chicken teriyaki bento box, tonkatsu ramen, and two different rolls (Baja and Bomb Diggity). Everything came out paced well and our server was awesome. We never went without and we were checked on plenty of times. Food was fantastic - the yellowtail tasted so fresh and the sushi rolls were "bomb diggity"!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try different items from their menu. We ordered both the wagyu donburi and wagyu steak bites, and the meat was rich, tender, and literally melted in my mouth. The wagyu paired really well with the rice and each bite felt super indulgent. The Wagyu Sunshine was a nice contrast because the mango salsa added a refreshing citrusy brightness that helped balance the richness. We also ordered the Ginza sushi platter, which was beautifully presented with each nigiri coming on its own plate. The fish tasted fresh and buttery and made for a fun presentation. The chicken katsu was another solid dish -- crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. Also worth mentioning: they have a sushi roll deal where the second roll is 50% off, along with beer and sake specials which make it even better for groups. Overall, a great spot if you're craving sushi, wagyu, and izakaya-style food with plenty of options.

Spicy garlic chashu bowl is rice with a layer of thinly sliced chashu pork added with some spicy garlic sauce. It's just okay. A bit too salty and spicy. Naruto buns is Taiwanese guabao with Chashu pork with mayonnaise (Japanese type). It's good. Karaage curry is Japanese fried chicken with spicy Japanese curry. It's really good in my opinion. This place has you order everything straight from the server so there's no need to get up and get your veggies or noodles from a bar. I would say that it's pretty convenient. I ordered the Angus beef (the mid-tier option), and it was so tough and dry... it honestly felt like I was chewing on something between paper and beef jerky. For something that's supposed to be a more premium cut, it was a letdown. Did I still eat it? Yes. Did I tell my husband it was fine so he wouldn't feel bad about us spending that much? Also yes. I just didn't want to turn it into a whole thing over a meal that already felt like a waste. What made it harder to ignore was the overall condition of the place. The windows were dirty, things felt a bit unorganized, and the whole restaurant just had this worn-down, low-effort vibe. I don't usually pay much attention to ratings, but I did notice the B rating and, unfortunately, it matched how everything felt. There was even a fly around our table and food the whole time, which just made it worse. The sauces were really runny and didn't have much flavor, which is disappointing because that's such a big part of shabu. I do want to say the service itself wasn't bad the staff was kind but you could tell they weren't exactly happy to be there, and it kind of added to the overall energy. It just sucks because this is the only shabu spot in town, and I really wanted to like it. When you're paying $29-$39 per person, you expect a certain level of care and quality, and this just didn't feel like that. I really do hope they take feedback like this and improve. I know times are tough, and I'd love to see this place do better.

This place has some items that are amazing and other ones that you can just do without…read more I came here for Dine La for lunch and here's what I felt about their menu. First off, the takoyaki octopus balls were full of flavor. I feel that this place does them really well. You don't feel overwhelmed by any seafood tastes and instead, you get well balanced flavor throughout every bite with the combination of the ball itself, the sauces and the flakes on top. Next is the omurice. The egg is cooked to perfection and tastes absolutely amazing. The curry, however, which was recommended by the waiter over the Demi glaze, tasted exactly like the Vermont curry cube you get in the grocery store, so I'm not sure why he recommended that over the Demi glaze. The fried rice within the omurice was alright too. Originally, I wanted to get the tonkatsu omurice but got it on the side as the choice wasn't available for the lunch menu. I would suggest doing without the tonkatsu because it was dry and there's a million and one places that can do tonkatsu better than this place. Honestly, I wish I had the opportunity to cut the omurice myself and choose how much curry I put on it, but the staff did that instead, which I guess made for a good video, but took away from my innate desires to cut the egg on my own haha. Next, the ramen tasted pretty basic like what you could get at any ramen shop. For the chicken wings, I've never had chicken wings in this flavor. They were really really good and I would definitely recommend the wings. For the desserts, I enjoyed both the matcha and the snow globe. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, however. The snow globe is a gelatin and it doesn't really have too much flavor until you get to the parts with the flower. Plus the little clear balls have a nice flavor and texture. For the matcha, it has an interesting texture and then an interestingly light, yet deep matcha flavor. Oh the drinks. The Thai tea tastes exactly like how it does everywhere else. The amazing lemonade is a lemonade with a few slight modifications, like with cucumber and maybe some other things as well. For the service, it's pretty good here. Everyone is pretty attentive. There are three things at the table, such as cayenne pepper and two other bowls you can add to your dishes to add flavor. I forgot the name of the one I liked but it looked kind of like pork floss or loose tea, and that one had a lot of flavor. I think what's most appealing about this place is the ambiance because you can like sit in a honeycomb, there's fancy designs everywhere and you feel like you're in a different place. I think it's a good restaurant but it's kind of weird how some things here are amazing and some are just okay.
