    Spicy tonkotsu with extra pork.
    Brandy M.

I was in the area for work and was craving ramen. Ramen Boiler Room was within a couple miles of my hotel. I ordered the gyoza dumplings and spicy tonkotsu ramen. The dumplings weren't great but they weren't bad either. The ramen was pretty good. The broth had pretty good flavor and the pork was tender. I took my food to go, but I was greeted and the guy behind the counter double checked that I had everything. The restaurant is in a busy retail plaza, so there's plenty of parking.

Had to come back and make sure my first review wasn't a one off. Can confirm still some of the best ramen I've had ever. I don't like ramen. Let me make it clear. This place though is something else. The yuzu sauce is great, the broth is rich, the egg is cooked to perfection. It's the perfect weather for ramen and you should find yourself here.

Amazing! LOVE this place. I got the tonkatsu, AMAZING, got the karaage chicken, GREAT, and the spicy tonkatsu, ALSO AMAZING! The service was perfect! The atmosphere... absolutely welcoming! My brother that didn't like tonkatsu now likes tonkatsu because of this place! Would definitely come again!!

Food is delicious and customer service top notch! We got spicy tonkatsu, tonkatsu, and karaoke chicken all amazing! My son who is not a ramen kid loved the tonkasu! Highly recommend!

We actually drove over here after my daughter's soccer game because most of the people in my truck wanted Yogurtland. Once we pulled in, however, my daughter informed me that she was hungry, and asked "dad can we get Ramen?" Without a second thought, we wandered into Ramen Boiler Room. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall of sorts, but inside is clean and modern not looking. The tables and chairs are new, the staff behind the counter greeted us when we walked in, and we ordered it up. Speaking of ordering, it's a self serve touchscreen, but the menu is printed out on a big poster right at the front counter, and selections are pretty straightforward. No gluten-free options here for Mrs. picante, but that's OK. My youngest ordered the spicy, and my daughter and I each got a bowl of regular tonkatsu. I was particularly impressed with the silky pork broth: it was really delicious. The soft boiled egg was just the right amount of runny inside, the noodles have exactly the right chew, and the amount of pork and green onions did not disappoint. We're not frequent visitors to this part of the world, but this was a nice little strip mall Ramen spot. 15 bucks a bowl is about par for the course, and for a quick lunch under 20 bucks, this place passes muster.

With such a name, I thought that this restaurant would have steampunk vibes, but it's just a normal restaurant. Regardless, I'm so glad that I live near the boiler room. My mother is always craving ramen, but I don't because I don't drink pork juice. But luckily for me, this location sells my favorite dish: fried chicken!!! So while I can't speak on the namesake dish of the boiler room, I can say that their fried chicken rice bowl is great. It comes with a generous portion of deliciously breaded chicky chunks and a nice drizzle of garlic mayo (I think?). As a Yelp-certified regular at this boiler room, this is my go-to dish! I came by on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded, but my dish came out really quick. My mother's ramen order on the other-hand, arrived once I was halfway done with my dish. So I guess their ramen is made to order, and everyone was ordering ramen that night.

10/10!! So delicious, so clean and great service! I'm so glad I found this Ramen spot so close to home. I have now been twice and both of my experiences went smoothly. This is one of the best ramen I've had in a while. The employees are so friendly here and just go above and beyond. I LOVE that there's a self service area with to go bowls and bags so you can pack up your food. The place both times looks so clean and you can see the entire kitchen which I love and looks so clean. I will be recommending and returning over and over again.

My friend was craving ramen, so we decided to try this place based on its great reviews and photos, and we're glad we did. When we walked in, the ordering process was a little confusing at first.. they have a kiosk near the cashier, so we thought we needed to order up front. However, the staff let us know we could just grab a table and order by scanning the QR code, and our food would be brought out to us. Once we figured that out, the process was quick and convenient. We both ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and shared the karaage. The ramen had a great level of spice, even for someone like me who doesn't usually go for super spicy dishes. The broth was flavorful, and the toppings were well-balanced. The karaage was also delicious--crispy, juicy, and a great side to share. Overall, the food was well-prepared and enjoyable, and I'd definitely consider coming back when I'm in the mood for ramen again.

UMAMI rich and flavorful Seabura Garlic Ramen was bomb! Its chashu meat was perfectly smokey. Im surprised and saddened I discovered this today only. To me, this overtakes Slurpin' Ramen as my favorite. Service was warm and fast. Great ambience! Will definitely be back here to this huge GEM in the San Gabriel Valley in Ramen Boiler Room.:-)

Came here along time ago and went to revisit. So glad this place has more than 1 person working now and its busy. It looks like their menu expanded as well. Their ramen is favorful and the meat was soft and tender. I love their kaarage. Dark meat and crispy.

Went here per the request of one of my best friends who happened to be craving ramen. It was a cold day so it was perfect. She had heard of this place and we decided to give it a try. It's nestled in on of the smaller plazas off the 10 in West Covina, right next to an AYCE sushi spot. The spot itself is pretty cozy. You walk in and place your order with one of the employees before you sit down. I ordered a seabura garlic ramen with extra thin noodles (as I would be sharing with my 2 younger sons) and added a soft boiled egg. We had also tried the Karaage chicken, as my best friend ordered it for the younger children as an appetizer. The Karaage chicken, from what I saw, was not the greatest. The pieces that my 2 sons got was not very edible. My littlest did not fancy the actual meat inside and stuck to just piecing of the breading that fell off of it and ate it like a chip, while my older son attempted to eat pieces of it, but again - the meat inside of his pieces were just too tough. I am not too sure if it was undercooked or it was just bad chicken. Either way, I'd rate this particular appetizer a 4/10. Maybe they would have been better with the smaller pieces, but that's not how the cards were dealt that evening, so that rating is based on what was actually consumed. Next the Garlic Ramen. My kids and I love a thick broth so I was actually excited for this bowl of ramen. Unbeknownst to me and my girls was that it came with a thick noodle. Super good And super chewy! Loved that part of it. The pork in there (there is extra pork in this bowl) was really good. It was cooked well, tender, and had a good flavor. During the first couple of sips of the broth it was good, but later on, upon mixing everything from the bottom up, it became really salty. I love a flavorful broth, i really do, but I definitely needed dilute it more to make it good. One of my best friends had ordered a different type of ramen and commented the same thing, also diluting her broth with water. The flavor was definitely there, but I feel like should have toned it down a bit with the saltiness. We had leftovers so I diluted our leftovers and got to eat a second serving the next day. Rated this a 6/10, but once diluted a 7.5-8/10. I wouldn't mind coming back because I know their flavors are good, but I'd definitely be adding more water. If I do go back, I will be sure to update my review. Cheers and Happy Eats! XOXO

We ordered both the wagyu donburi and wagyu steak bites, and the meat was rich, tender, and literally melted in my mouth. The wagyu paired really well with the rice and each bite felt super indulgent. The Wagyu Sunshine was a nice contrast because the mango salsa added a refreshing citrusy brightness that helped balance the richness. We also ordered the Ginza sushi platter, which was beautifully presented with each nigiri coming on its own plate. The fish tasted fresh and buttery and made for a fun presentation. The chicken katsu was another solid dish -- crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. Also worth mentioning: they have a sushi roll deal where the second roll is 50% off, along with beer and sake specials which make it even better for groups. Overall, a great spot if you're craving sushi, wagyu, and izakaya-style food with plenty of options.

For something that's supposed to be a more premium cut, it was a letdown. Did I still eat it? Yes. Did I tell my husband it was fine so he wouldn't feel bad about us spending that much? Also yes. I just didn't want to turn it into a whole thing over a meal that already felt like a waste. What made it harder to ignore was the overall condition of the place. The windows were dirty, things felt a bit unorganized, and the whole restaurant just had this worn-down, low-effort vibe. I don't usually pay much attention to ratings, but I did notice the B rating and, unfortunately, it matched how everything felt. There was even a fly around our table and food the whole time, which just made it worse. The sauces were really runny and didn't have much flavor, which is disappointing because that's such a big part of shabu. I do want to say the service itself wasn't bad the staff was kind but you could tell they weren't exactly happy to be there, and it kind of added to the overall energy. It just sucks because this is the only shabu spot in town, and I really wanted to like it. We walked into a space that stands out for its modern interior, featuring private wooden booth seating that creates a cozy, semi-private dining experience, the kind of setup that makes the meal feel more intimate than a typical ramen shop. The atmosphere feels contemporary and social, with a clean, thoughtfully designed layout that works well for both casual dinners and group outings, and the attached TBaar makes it easy to finish the meal with a specialty tea or dessert without leaving the restaurant. While ramen is the restaurant's signature, many of the menu's standout dishes are actually found elsewhere. The omurice is one of the most popular items, served with a fluffy egg and rich demi-glace or curry sauce that makes it one of the restaurant's signature comfort dishes, and the presentation, with the egg split open at the table, adds a theatrical element to the meal. Other highlights include yakitori, bao buns, katsu, takoyaki, and appetizers that give the menu plenty of variety. The ramen itself is solid, with options ranging from traditional tonkotsu to the Yin Yang Ramen that lets you sample both spicy and non-spicy broths in one bowl, though the quality of the ramen can feel less memorable than some of the restaurant's other specialties, the broth lacking the depth and complexity that defines a dedicated ramen shop. The attached TBaar also adds another layer to the experience with milk teas, fruit teas, and desserts that pair well with the meal. Matcha tiramisu, Japanese cherry blossom jelly, and other sweets help round out the menu, making it easy to stay for dessert instead of stopping somewhere else afterward, and the drinks are well prepared, with the tea flavors coming through clearly without being overly sweet. The restaurant's design is one of its biggest strengths. The wooden booths provide a semi-private dining experience, and the overall space feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating an environment that encourages lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. Service is generally friendly and welcoming, though it can slow down during busier periods as the restaurant fills up, with the team handling the steady flow but sometimes taking longer to check in when the dining room is at capacity. The overall experience remains positive, and the pace of the meal stays comfortable even when the service stretches. Kyuramen x TBaar offers more than just ramen. The inviting atmosphere, diverse menu, and combination of savory dishes, drinks, and desserts make it a well-rounded dining destination. While the ramen may not be the strongest reason to visit compared to some dedicated ramen shops, the omurice, appetizers, desserts, and unique dining experience make it a place worth trying, especially if you are looking for variety rather than focusing on a single dish. The balance of creativity, comfort, and a polished setting makes it a versatile option for a meal that feels more like an experience than a quick stop.

Kyu, as in Japanese for 9. Ramen, as in Japanese for ramen. Honestly I've tried pretty much…read moreeverything here, and the omu rice with curry is the thing that puts this place on the map. The ramen isn't better than Ramen Nagi, not better than Daikoluya, not better than Shinsengumi, and the list goes on. The skewers are thick, dry, tough, tasteless. The rice burger becomes a sloppy mess. The omu rice though? That is on point! Omu rice (5/5) Perfectly prepped football shaped gooey omelette that bleeds over your fried rice when cut, paired with probably Vermont brand curry sauce. Like, even if it was store bought instant curry, the biggest thing about this, is the egg. If you ever tried to make Omurice yourself, you'll gain a full and proper appreciation of this dish. Egg, fried rice, curry, that's all there is to this, but... Getting that liquidty gooey-ness, I've had a hard time finding it anywhere else, and for that reason, this place gets 5/5. I'd caution my readers to level set their expectations for everything else, and also take note of just how many people have Omurice on their tables, if you don't have at least that, you're doing it wrong. I hope you guys enjoy this place as much as I did!

This is long overdue. Draft needed to be shared hehe. Been…read morehere several times now and it's always delicious and made with attention to detail. Eduardo the owner is ALWAYS very attentive and full of joy to serve us. He checks on us to make sure everything is ok with our orders. Kiren the other owner has been awesome too, since our first visit. She was concerned my daughter wasn't eating. Also, always checking in on us. She remembered us the second time we came and asked if my daughter if she was doing better because the first time we were there she had morning sickness so she couldn't enjoy her food. I love finding hidden GEMS, especially Mexican restaurants, with real Mexican food!! What can I say ?! We love it ! Five times here. No regrets. Always good. Food is delicious! Service is AWESOME! Always so friendly, warm, & helpful since the first time we found them. . :D Can't believe it took me so long to find this hidden gem living nearby and around here all the time. How did I find it ?? Well, how do I, and we all, find all my / our favorite restaurants? I Yelped of course !!! :D I was in the area looking for a good place to eat. I yelped Mexican food and TA DA ! I would have never found it, since it's sort of hidden in an area less traveled, in the shopping center across from the West Covina Mall, behind sushiholics & The Bundt place. Same center where Panera is & Sushiholics, except it's on the back side street, on California Ave. I would have never walked over there, on the backside of the shopping center. Just happy to have found it now! Besides GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD ! We are suckers for birria. So 1st time here we had birria chilaquiles with over medium eggs plate, quesabirria, and ramen birria hehe ! YUMMM Yes, it was good, a little spicy for me, but good. I always have to clarify how I want my eggs at restaurants because believe it or not some cooks don't understand that over medium means soft yolks. They sometimes bring me over hard and that's not what I ordered. Over medium eggs have to be just right! No runny whites and no hard yolk. I explained that to Eduardo when ordering because I didn't want hard or soft; runny & gooey whites ewww. So I'm always very specific. Eduardo said no problem, if we don't get them right we can remake them for you. :D Woohooo ! They were perfect! Not many places get it right the first time, so they always remake them, but not here ! PERFECTION !! Thank you Eduardo!! I was happy ! Can't forget about the coffee!!! Oooh coffee! We love coffee so when the owner told us iced coffee ! Whoa ! Our eyes lit up ! YESSSSS please! It was good as well and when she saw we had finished it, she offered us a free refill. Thank you my new friend! You're the best !!! You made our day !!! We were like we're coming back !!! 2nd time, I had bulgogi breakfast bowl with over medium eggs ! I love eggs with beef ! Who doesn't ?! lol Eggs were perfect ! Beef was perfect too ! My grandson ate all my bulgogi though lol! I guess he liked it too. 3rd time on Friday 7/25/25 Eduardo always very cheerful & welcoming :) I ordered the chicken salad lunch, daughter ordered the green pozole! She's a sucker for green pozole hehe. I loved my salad! It was perfect! The chicken was perfect, pulled pieces with a green dressing that was whoa soooo YUMMMM ! This is making me hungry now. Daughter said pozole was good too Of course we will be back !! Need to try to yellow curry ! Next couple times had to order some previously had dishes like Birria ramen, tacos, pozole and chicken salad. Eduardo also accommodated my grandson, as he loves chicken but we get him grilled chicken. So he made a kids version of the chicken salad and it was just perfect and delicious too. PS good spot for kids too. They have a Foosball table ! So when they get antsy, they can go play! Kids love it and play every time. Great thinking! Thank you for this addition to your restaurant ! It's a plus for us with little ones because it helps with their impatience. This is GOLD !! Thank you Eduardo and Kiren ! We will be back next time we're looking for yummy Mexican food or are nearby. Have you tried ? Let me know if you stop by. I'd love to know what was your favorite dish. Happy eating & happy Yelping ! SYOY or IG ;) PS Support small family owned pro American businesses. IYKYK ;) Our communities need to thrive and it's up to us to help our community have the best services & places to eat. McDonald's isn't going anywhere and neither is Taco Bell or Starbucks. Cash is GOLD ! We need to keep cash alive to be able to have tangible spending money in our hands to give to those in need; not fake money that can be censored by technology like in other countries like the one that starts with Ch...
