I was in the area for work and was craving ramen. Ramen Boiler Room was within a couple miles of my hotel. I ordered the gyoza dumplings and spicy tonkotsu ramen. The dumplings weren't great but they weren't bad either. The ramen was pretty good. The broth had pretty good flavor and the pork was tender. I took my food to go, but I was greeted and the guy behind the counter double checked that I had everything. The restaurant is in a busy retail plaza, so there's plenty of parking.
Had to come back and make sure my first review wasn't a one off. Can confirm still some of the best ramen I've had ever. I don't like ramen. Let me make it clear. This place though is something else. The yuzu sauce is great, the broth is rich, the egg is cooked to perfection. It's the perfect weather for ramen and you should find yourself here.
Amazing! LOVE this place. I got the tonkatsu, AMAZING, got the karaage chicken, GREAT, and the spicy tonkatsu, ALSO AMAZING! The service was perfect! The atmosphere... absolutely welcoming! My brother that didn't like tonkatsu now likes tonkatsu because of this place! Would definitely come again!!
We actually drove over here after my daughter's soccer game because most of the people in my truck wanted Yogurtland. Once we pulled in, however, my daughter informed me that she was hungry, and asked "dad can we get Ramen?" Without a second thought, we wandered into Ramen Boiler Room. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall of sorts, but inside is clean and modern not looking. The tables and chairs are new, the staff behind the counter greeted us when we walked in, and we ordered it up. Speaking of ordering, it's a self serve touchscreen, but the menu is printed out on a big poster right at the front counter, and selections are pretty straightforward. No gluten-free options here for Mrs. picante, but that's OK. My youngest ordered the spicy, and my daughter and I each got a bowl of regular tonkatsu. I was particularly impressed with the silky pork broth: it was really delicious. The soft boiled egg was just the right amount of runny inside, the noodles have exactly the right chew, and the amount of pork and green onions did not disappoint. We're not frequent visitors to this part of the world, but this was a nice little strip mall Ramen spot. 15 bucks a bowl is about par for the course, and for a quick lunch under 20 bucks, this place passes muster.
With such a name, I thought that this restaurant would have steampunk vibes, but it's just a normal restaurant. Regardless, I'm so glad that I live near the boiler room. My mother is always craving ramen, but I don't because I don't drink pork juice. But luckily for me, this location sells my favorite dish: fried chicken!!! So while I can't speak on the namesake dish of the boiler room, I can say that their fried chicken rice bowl is great. It comes with a generous portion of deliciously breaded chicky chunks and a nice drizzle of garlic mayo (I think?). As a Yelp-certified regular at this boiler room, this is my go-to dish! I came by on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded, but my dish came out really quick. My mother's ramen order on the other-hand, arrived once I was halfway done with my dish. So I guess their ramen is made to order, and everyone was ordering ramen that night.
10/10!! So delicious, so clean and great service! I'm so glad I found this Ramen spot so close to home. I have now been twice and both of my experiences went smoothly. This is one of the best ramen I've had in a while. The employees are so friendly here and just go above and beyond. I LOVE that there's a self service area with to go bowls and bags so you can pack up your food. The place both times looks so clean and you can see the entire kitchen which I love and looks so clean. I will be recommending and returning over and over again.
My friend was craving ramen, so we decided to try this place based on its great reviews and photos, and we're glad we did. When we walked in, the ordering process was a little confusing at first.. they have a kiosk near the cashier, so we thought we needed to order up front. However, the staff let us know we could just grab a table and order by scanning the QR code, and our food would be brought out to us. Once we figured that out, the process was quick and convenient. We both ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and shared the karaage. The ramen had a great level of spice, even for someone like me who doesn't usually go for super spicy dishes. The broth was flavorful, and the toppings were well-balanced. The karaage was also delicious--crispy, juicy, and a great side to share. Overall, the food was well-prepared and enjoyable, and I'd definitely consider coming back when I'm in the mood for ramen again.
UMAMI rich and flavorful Seabura Garlic Ramen was bomb! Its chashu meat was perfectly smokey. Im surprised and saddened I discovered this today only. To me, this overtakes Slurpin' Ramen as my favorite. Service was warm and fast. Great ambience! Will definitely be back here to this huge GEM in the San Gabriel Valley in Ramen Boiler Room.:-)
Went here per the request of one of my best friends who happened to be craving ramen. It was a cold day so it was perfect. She had heard of this place and we decided to give it a try. It's nestled in on of the smaller plazas off the 10 in West Covina, right next to an AYCE sushi spot. The spot itself is pretty cozy. You walk in and place your order with one of the employees before you sit down. I ordered a seabura garlic ramen with extra thin noodles (as I would be sharing with my 2 younger sons) and added a soft boiled egg. We had also tried the Karaage chicken, as my best friend ordered it for the younger children as an appetizer. The Karaage chicken, from what I saw, was not the greatest. The pieces that my 2 sons got was not very edible. My littlest did not fancy the actual meat inside and stuck to just piecing of the breading that fell off of it and ate it like a chip, while my older son attempted to eat pieces of it, but again - the meat inside of his pieces were just too tough. I am not too sure if it was undercooked or it was just bad chicken. Either way, I'd rate this particular appetizer a 4/10. Maybe they would have been better with the smaller pieces, but that's not how the cards were dealt that evening, so that rating is based on what was actually consumed. Next the Garlic Ramen. My kids and I love a thick broth so I was actually excited for this bowl of ramen. Unbeknownst to me and my girls was that it came with a thick noodle. Super good And super chewy! Loved that part of it. The pork in there (there is extra pork in this bowl) was really good. It was cooked well, tender, and had a good flavor. During the first couple of sips of the broth it was good, but later on, upon mixing everything from the bottom up, it became really salty. I love a flavorful broth, i really do, but I definitely needed dilute it more to make it good. One of my best friends had ordered a different type of ramen and commented the same thing, also diluting her broth with water. The flavor was definitely there, but I feel like should have toned it down a bit with the saltiness. We had leftovers so I diluted our leftovers and got to eat a second serving the next day. Rated this a 6/10, but once diluted a 7.5-8/10. I wouldn't mind coming back because I know their flavors are good, but I'd definitely be adding more water. Ordering was very convenient, you don't really need to talk to anyone. Just order at the kiosk upfront and seat anywhere yourself. They bring your order to you. Waiting for the ramen was quite long for what it is... so service wasn't really so quick. I got the tonkatsu ramen bowl and my bf got the spicy version. First impression, it looks pretty basic? First taste, it was just okay haha. Nothing too special. The pork meat was pretty standard, doesn't melt in your mouth. Ramen noodles were decent. Broth of the flavor wasn't as deep as I tried at other places. It also looked a bit too oily. Overall, it was just okay. It does the job for a ramen fix, but that's about it. Tables are semi-clean. Comparable to Kopan ramen, but a dollar cheaper. read more

I've reviewed Ramen Boiler Room before for their amazing food, but I wanted to give them another shoutout for their customer service. Today I placed a pickup order and realized the Kids Shoyu Ramen was listed as dine-in only. My daughter is home sick, and I specifically wanted the kids ramen because it's lighter and made with less oil and sodium. I called the restaurant to see if there was any way they could make an exception. The employee who answered was very friendly and asked if I could please hold for a moment. After a short wait, I explained the situation, and she immediately said it was no problem and that they would make the exception. She was kind, professional, and even apologized for the brief wait. The food here is always great, but experiences like this are what make customers want to come back. It's refreshing to find a place that genuinely cares about taking care of people. Thank you, Ramen Boiler Room, for the great service and delicious food. That's exactly why we keep coming back. read more

Came here along time ago and went to revisit. So glad this place has more than 1 person working now and its busy. It looks like their menu expanded as well. Their ramen is favorful and the meat was soft and tender. I love their kaarage. Dark meat and crispy. read more

One day, I asked my fellow Yelper friend Ian which is his favorite ramen spot. Without any hesitation, he said Ramen Boiler Room. The one and only "One Man Ramen Shop". If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Seabura Garlic Ramen was out of this world DELICIOUS! OMG... BEST melt in your mouth pork belly ever! SO VERY GOOD! I was in heaven LOL. Noodles were crunchy and tasty. I couldn't stop slurping. Soup was so tasty, too. I added some spicy chili oil and WOW, taste and flavor elevated to the next level! I ate one bowl here and got one bowl to-go LOL. Thanks so much Ian for the recommendation! I am quite surprised there are so much seating especially when there is only one man manning the shop. He did exceptionally well though. However, my wait time was about 20-30 minutes. It's all good. I can tell all the other customers were very patient, too. Since the gentleman has to cook, there is no one taking orders. There is one self-ordering kiosk or QR code or digital dine-in. Water, condiments, utensils, napkins, and to-go bowls + bags are available via self-service. I like how this shop is ran pretty efficiently. I also ordered to-go... 1 Tonkotsu Ramen, 1 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, 1 Chicken Kaarage, and 1 Seabura Garlic Ramen. My daughters enjoyed their ramen and kaarage. I, of course, enjoyed my Seabura Garlic ramen very much once again. YUMMY! Highly recommend Ramen Boiler Room! Hands down one of the best ramen spots if not the best in So Cal. Come on out and get some amazing ramen plus more! P.S. Free parking is available. If parking lot gets crowded, Plaza West Covina is across the street. Restrooms are in the back. When there are lots of people, it may get really warm inside and can get really uncomfortable. But as people leave, the room cools down a bit. Just an FYI. read more
This place is simply amazing and honestly one of the best Ramen places I've been too. It's simple, nothing showy but the ramen speaks for itself. First off there is only one cook, and he's literally a one man team, Amazing! We thought our order was going to take long because he was working by himself but the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. I tried these ramen out. Seabura Garlic - Unique ramen, never heard of something like this. Pork piece were delicious and perfectly cooked. Broth was strong but so tasty. Would recommend. (5/5) Shoyu - This was a good and refreshing shoyu. It's the perfect amount saltiness and the chicken breast pieces were still super moist. A great choice. (5/5) Don't expect to come to a nice fancy restaurant here but expect to come and get a delicious bowl of Ramen. Very reasonable price and they also had cups of chili in the front that you could get. We always saw this place and decided to check it out. When you walk in the restaurant it felt spacious with the open kitchen concept. You order your meal first and take a number to sit down. We ordered the karaage for appetizer and it was so good! It was fresh, crispy and juicy. I got a yuzu ramen which was a seasonal menu item. The broth was super flavorful with a hint of yuzu. It also had chicken which I thought would be dry but it was super juicy and tender. My so got the spicy tonkotsu which was also delicious too. Definitely recommend this lance if you're craving a good bowl of ramen! read more
Noticed this ramen place was popular on Yelp, and trusted my fellow Yelpers to give it a try, and so glad I did -- it was very good! Ordered the regular tonkotsu, and added the spicy sauce they provided -- so yummy! The broth was creamy and the pork chasu was thick and juicy. There are several small tables inside, and parking can be a challenge in the busy strip mall, but definitely worth it. Order using the kiosk and they will bring your items to the table -- quick and easy! read more
Husky recommend you get on the waiting list. The place, which isn't that big, gets pretty packed and busy. But good ambiance and vibes. I also highly recommend you eat here! You can order your food at the counter or use the QR code at the table. Get your own napkins, chopsticks, and water also. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu. I was shocked how good it was since I came here with zero expectations. I loved the texture of the ramen noodles. And the pork-so tender! I wish I visited this restaurant sooner. Long overdue review, but incredible incredible ramen. Other reviews are right on the money. Ordered the Seabura Garlic Ramen which is not something I have seen offered on a typical ramen shop's menu, but it was heavenly. The garlic in the name is not to be taken lightly, it is a super rich, super fatty, and loaded with garlic flavor and it is exactly what I went when I am craving a big bowl of ramen. The pork was charred to perfection, giving a chewy but tender bite with the smokiness coming through as well. They also have this little slider served on a Hawaiian roll which was a perfect side. The crisp and crunch was well retained and the sauce added was nice and tangy, super super yummy. I went on an extremely hot Saturday at lunch and was quite empty, but definitely could've been the heat. The service was super quick. Ample seating and self service water. My new favorite ramen place I'd like to say and I hope it continues to get the recognition it deserves! read more
Fast casual ramen restaurant in a busy plaza. Plenty of parking space but spots do fill up quick. This restaurant is all self serve, you sit down and order with QR code. Food is good, noodles are thick and have a bit of crunch to it. Broth is on the thicker and fattier side, very greasy. I got a dirty soup spoon, but wasn't a big of a deal as they also provided disposable utensils. read more
My friends and i came here because we were in the hungry and the prices isn't that bad and love how the qr code is where you order and also pay which is cool. The ambiance is nice, wait isn't too bad on Sunday afternoon too and service was quick. I had the shoyu and tasted really good! read more

I stopped by Ramen Boiler Room after hearing mixed things and finally decided to give it a try. The ordering process is completely self-serve through a kiosk, which is convenient if you're in a rush, but it also means there's pretty much zero customer service interaction. If you're the type who likes to ask questions or customize things on the spot, it can feel a bit impersonal. The food came out fairly quick, but the broth was on the salty side for me. I usually love a rich, deep ramen flavor, but this one felt like it leaned more toward salty than savory. The noodles themselves were cooked well, though, and the portion size was solid. A few things I noticed that lined up with what other reviewers mentioned: seating can feel a little cramped during busy hours, and the vibe is more "eat and go" than a relaxing dine-in experience. The staff seemed to mainly stay behind the counter unless something needed restocking, so don't expect much interaction beyond receiving your food. Overall, it's not a bad spot if you're craving ramen and want something fast, but it didn't quite stand out enough for me to bump it above three stars. I might come back if I'm nearby, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Ramen Boiler Room is located in an unassuming plaza, yet the inside was consistently filled on a Sunday evening. The dining style is counter service, but they do a good job bringing out food and cleaning tables in between customers. They have appetizers only on the weekends so plan accordingly! We tried the kaarage and were pleasantly surprised. The exterior was crispy, but the inside remained juicy and tender. The spicy seabura garlic ramen was the showstopper in my opinion. The broth was super rich and flavorful with the melted pork fat. The pork chashu was seared where the surface was crispy, but the meat itself was so tender it would melt in your mouth! I will definitely return whenever I'm back in the area. read more
This place is a hidden gem. They just opened recently in the center next to the West Covina mall. Owner is Japanese and a super nice person! We got the spicy tonkotsu and regular tonkotsu. They were both perfect. I do with they added some more toppings but the main thing is that the soup quality as well as the chashu was so yummy. Broth was so thick and you can tell it's been cooked a long time. read more

The galric tonkotsu broth is really good, like the one in Japan Chashu big 4 chucks! Good They also have hot sauce on the side you can get More like self serve can order in the front or on the desk qr code also have togo they bring the food for u and clean for u so i still tip some staff seems like just two but friendly tho read more

Amazing ramen. So fatty and flavorful. Leaves grease on your lips and anything you drop it on. Lol. The meat is seated to perfection. Tender and delicious. The noodles are on the thicker side and cooked al dente. This might be my favorite ramen as of now. Slurpin in City of industry was number 1. Maybe they're tied. Idk. Try this place. read more

I've come across a lot of ramen spots across the IE and LA that left lots to be desired, but Ramen Boiler is a clear exception. Servers brought out the food quickly, the space is clean, and the tonkotsu ramen was delicious. Definitely will be back again! read more

I stopped by for lunch recently after hearing good things about this new ramen shop and I had a delicious bowl here. The shop is run by a friendly older gentleman who cooks the food, and busses the tables. You order via QR code when you sit at the table and he brings the food to you when it's ready. I ordered the Spicy Seabura Garlic ramen which sounded great from the description and it was one of the best bowls I've had in a while. The pork broth mixed with the pork fat and garlic was rich, creamy, and flavorful. The noodles were chewy and tender and held onto the broth well. The chashu was tender and juicy and melted in my mouth as I bit into it and the green onion and bean sprout added a great texture to the bowl overall. If you are a garlic lover, this bowl is for you. The inside was clean and modern and there are plenty of tables available for seating. I did want to note that ramen does take a while to come out since there is only one staff person cooking all the food and I waited around 20-25 minutes before my bowl showed up. Overall, I had a good meal here and would recommend coming here for lunch or dinner if you are craving ramen. Just be prepared to wait a little for your food since it's a one man show! read more

Came by myself between 12 and 2 PM It was super busy considering the time as well as there was one person working congrats to him. He did absolutely amazing. He was making the orders busing tables. Luckily, we ordered at the table with the QR code and paid for it so that helped out a lot. The food came out absolutely amazing. I finished to the last drop. I did not take a picture of that But I promise I did. I will be coming back. read more
