0 stars all the way. But yelp is too kind and makes me give 1 star. Which gives this shop wayyy too much credit. This shop is an absolute joke. But the good part is they offer two types of paint and body work service depending on your budget. 1. Agree on an amount so they can repair and paint parts, but they actually paint the parts without any prep work. Or 2. Pay them more and they'll do it correctly. The guy goes by "Tony" but his actual name is Luis. He's a fraud. We brought him some parts to have them fixed and painted. He literally painted our parts without any prep work or repairing damages. Then he tried to say "that's what we agreed on". What customer is going to agree to that type of work??!! I didn't know we had to tell him how to do his job. I've never had to clarify to any body shop on how they should fix body work before painting. That's common sense and part of the process. Any shop that does legit work should already know that. When you bring up the crappy job That was done he gets defensive and arrogant. Never offered to make it right like a "professional shop" should do. Instead they asked for more money to do their job correctly. Now it's going to cost us more to repair their crappy work that was done. Not to mention when we said we could've done a better job with a can of spray paint, he said. Then you should've done it yourself. Acting like he was doing us a favor. He Called the cops because we refused to pay for damaging our parts and doing a horrible job. The Cops told us the guy is very familiar with the court process and he will be taking us to court. HA! If that's not a red flag I don't know what is. I'm sure the guy is very familiar with court. That just means he's done this to several people several times. You Should be ashamed of yourself and the quality of your work!! Just know if you go there. That's the type of service and treatment you will receive. Since the guy is so familiar with court. I hope he's familiar with a felony vandalism report we will be filing for the damages he caused. We are also reporting this to the BBB. Good luck! Check out Just a few pics of the great work. My air conditioning had not been working for years and I read about the Cool Aire Rebate Program online last year and applied and was granted the program which pays 90% of the repairs up to $1,500 and covers the inspection fee. My car was profusely leaking refrigerant R-134a which is the requirement to qualify. The Cool Aire Rebate Program lists authorized repair agents and I chose Tonny's Auto Repair. I was at the end of my extension period for the program and Tonny's had no available appointments but Sandra at Tonny's Auto Repair went above and beyond to schedule me so I could use the program. I now have fantastic cool air in my car and on high it's too cool! I highly recommend Tonny's and recommend this program it is hard to believe but it is really true. If your air conditioning is leaking refrigerant call Tonny's and Sandra will help you in understanding the program and Sandra and Tonny explained exactly what they needed to do by referencing an excellent chart in the shop which shows the complete air conditioning system in cars which was very helpful. Terrible experience, honestly such a nightmare. I called for service Friday, they said to come in Saturday morning at 10am so they could look at it. I came in at 10am and there was no one there, the office was closed. I walked to the back and found someone working, but they said I'd have to wait for someone else to come to be helped. Eventually he had me call the owner, who said to come back at 12pm. So I went home, then came back at 12pm. The person I met there accused me of not telling them the entire problem with my car, when I had already explained it once over the phone initially, again when I came at 10am, and again when I came back at 12pm. Trying to pick up the car up was awful. I had to have probably 3-4 phone calls with them and every time they called it wasn't even to tell me it was ready to pick up. When it was finally ready, it was so late in the day and such late notice before they closed that it wasn't even possible for me to make it to the shop before they closed, with the notice they gave me. I had to have someone else pick it up for me as I rushed back. I bought a part for them and I showed them where it was in the car so they could use it, and they didn't even use it, so they charged me for a new one. When I drove my car after picking it up, all of a sudden there was a new problem with it?? I called to tell them about it and they said they had nothing to do with it, even though it was fine when I dropped it off and noticeably different after we picked it up. I was going to go back to have them fix it, but I had such a bad experience with them that I'd rather be inconvenienced & figure it out elsewhere than ever have to interact with them again. Also it's cash only?? Super inconvenient, and they don't even tell you it's cash only, I had to find out myself. Who is pulling out hundreds or thousands of dollars in cash for auto repairs?? When my regular mechanic was too busy to look at my car, this shop was recommended to me by a trusted friend who sung their praises - and I am certain did not mean to lead me down the garden path. I can't even decide whether to bother telling this individual how shady their beloved mechanic actually is. The last time I was here they were very flakey with timing...they randomly shut down in the middle of the day so they can cart their kids around. Great for their family, not great for busy people with full lives. My car was not ready by the end of the day... or the day after. Leaving me Uber-ing and imposing on a friend. When I fiiiinally picked it up the tank was low and it had been driven over 80 miles. My seat and all the mirrors had been re-adjusted. I was not pleased, decided I wouldn't be going back again, and let all the BS go, grateful for lessons learned. On that occasion I'd had 2 years-new spark plugs replaced due to an oil leak. Which, if you don't know, is $$$. Fast forward to now. Light comes on. Take it to my new mechanic. OIL LEAK. It appears they replaced the plugs but left the leak. They also did some valve stuff and did not adjust or offer adjustment - guess what, they need adjusting. I guess this is a good way to get repeat business from a complete idiot, which, fortunately I am not. Is it the fact that I'm a single woman and an easy mark? Or maybe they are just not using good sense and being efficient. Perhaps they're overwhelmed with business and half-assing it. We'll probably never know, however looking at other 1-star reviews I notice that this is somewhat of a theme. I just pray we don't find more damage that can be directly attributed to this place. read more

Sandra, the receptionist, was very responsive, explained items thoroughly, took additional time to explain what was wrong, and provided their honest recommendation of items to fix at their shop. This shop charged my insurance over 5k for repairs and returned an un aligned car with dripping paint, when I returned to request the issue to be fixed they took it in and repaired it but they took it personal and pretends to do us a favor. "READ BEFORE GOING TO TONNY'S AUTO REPAIR." I've been to Tonny's Auto Repair twice and the first time I' went (11/12/2015) there it went pretty smoothly (Replace front two rotors and install the brake pads that I brought) . Price was high but Creg seem very generous and trustworthy. I thought I finally found the right guy to take my car to. Integrity means a lot to me and it's very hard to find a honest mechanic nowadays. 2nd time I've been there was yesterday (1/6/2016). Btw, Happy New Years everyone! I couldn't pass smog on my vehicle so I decided to take it to Tonny's to get it checked out. The code I kept getting was "P0171/P0174". Creg told me I had to replace my "MAF-Mass Air Flow Sensor and my Air Filter". The funniest thing starts now. He told me over the phone that I had to replace my MAF in order to clear out my engine light and to pass the smog check. He told me I had to replace it with the OEM from the dealership which will cost me $154.00 for Denso MAF. Also, he decided to just replace the air filter and charged me extra $20.00 without asking for my permission. (I had an air filter at home which I bought it before and it's super easy to replace.) Anyways, extra $20 wasn't the issue. I picked up my car around 4pm and the total came up to be $262.48. Price was very high but I just paid because Creg was the one who handled my car. I trust him with my car so I just left. When I went back to my office parking spot, I notice something weird on the receipt. Instead of installing Denso MAF OEM from the dealership like Creg said to me, they installed "AUTO ZONE-Duralast New-DL-3000" which is $80.99. I thought the receipt was wrong so I decided to open up my hood and check it out. It clear said, "DL-3000". I decided to call back and ask them what happened. The lady in the front desk told me she will talk to Creg and get back to me the next morning. Afterward, she called again and left me a message saying Creg "Accidentally" installed the wrong one and told me to come over the next day to install the correct one. Accidents happen so I decided to go in the morning and get it replaced. I don't know much about cars and I decided to check on Youtube "How to replace MAF" before I went. I felt so stupid after seeing the 1min video..... Literally had to unscrew two screw that was attached to the air filter... Took less than 5 min to try taking it off.. Creg charged me $75.00 labor fee for 5 min job.. When I was heading over there today, I received a call from Creg. I told him that I would just keep the DL-3000 and asked him to pay me back the difference. He then told me he couldn't do that and he had to replace it with the Denso. He kept telling me that he ordered the wrong one from the "Dealership" and he would need to get the Denso to replace it. DL-3000 is NOT SOLD by the dealership. It's only sold by AUTO ZONE and I even went over to the AUTO ZONE that is located right next to Tonny's repair. The employees there knew exactly who Creg was because he went there all the time to buy parts. Honestly money is not the issue. Dishonesty and trying to lie to a customer face is what got me mad. He intentionally did try to sell Auto Zone part and he kept lying that he ordered the wrong one from the dealership... Plus, I asked for my full money back and he said he would still had to charge me for labor fee...Freaken ridiculous... He intentionally puts the wrong one and ask me for the labor fee as well when it takes less than 5 min to unscrew two screw... Anyways, I've learned my lesson not to trust too easily and ALWAYS check online and take the parts in for any repair. Hopefully Creg didn't do this to all his customers but I'm definitely not going there again. Creg, if you're reading this post, please please please don't do this to other customers to make extra buck. If you want loyal customers, you can't do shady things like this to make extra cash. Brought my 350z here for some maintenace and this place is by far the best auto repair shop i have ever ran into.. My nissan was wobbling alot and making a loud "clunk" sound, brought it in and they let me know what the issue was right away. ended up replacing ,lower control arsm,ball joints,tie rods inner and outer, and an alignment, all for a good price.. they work fast and you can have youre car back as soon as the next day if not that same day depending on what they have to do or if they are busy.. they showed me the parts they swapped out before and after they took them off which right away let me know they are honest about they're job. other places change out parts and dont even tell you until its too late ,but at tony's they were honest from the moment i walked in. tony the owner is very friendly and funny,deifintely recommend this auto repair shop to anyone who needs theyre car up n running perfectly. they are bilingual and overall great service. this is my #1 stop for all my car maintenance from now on. Well - I don't know what happened, but I guess having a good mechanic for 2 1/2 years was the longest streak I'll be able to find. Brought my car in for an oil change a little less than two weeks ago. They discovered oil leaking and splashing on the spark plugs... and that my radiator hose will need to be replaced "soon". I was given the total of $592 (I know this is accurate as I was texting my wife as the info was given to me). We were told if we don't fix these issues soon, the car will start shaking. We made an appointment for (last)Monday morning as I had an interview in Irvine. They were made well aware of this. Monday morning comes, I get a call at 8:11am --- appointment cancelled... apparently they worked too hard on the Saturday before and as a result were understaffed for Monday. Well, great - thanks! I'm so glad you were made aware that you were too busy on Saturday... but unless you called your mechanics and told them not to come in Monday morning -- then you were aware that you were going to have to cancel our appointment, but still... they waited last minute to cancel it. SO - I get screwed, lost my interview. The rides I arranged can not make it Tuesday the next day, which is when I brought my car, so I'm stuck... in hot weather, in Carson all damn day, job interview-less as a result of poor communication. I'm then charged $582... alright, different prices always catch me off-guard, I understand it's $10 LESS than quoted, but why has that changed? Wait! Nevermind! I'm told they never technically added the radiator hose onto the total.... so... plot twist!! It's $75 more! Out of the clear blue skies! Aggravated beyond all doubt... I sit in their lobby watching their spanish soap operas and petting their junkyard cat while waiting... 3pm comes by, it's done... I pay them , I leave. My car is quiet. Things seem okay. 12 hours later... car is shaking. Now I'm pissed. Any thing I say I won't be able to communicate without screaming and being a socially unacceptable human being... so my wife volunteers to take it in this time. She calls, makes the appointment... goes in... It's Tonny himself. He looks at the car, discovers his mechanic didn't put it on correctly. The hose is loose. It gets fixed, in-n-out 30 minutes for her. Things become quiet... 12 hours later, the car shakes again. We now get an appointment for this morning and are quiet tired of this. My wife, once again, takes it in... they drive it... can't see anything wrong with it. I guess the shaking isn't noticeable to 'em. Then my wife is told, the problem is something other than what their specific fixes were... despite, while making an appointment, Tonny telling Sandra exactly what he thought the problem was just because it was shaking... again... so, he had a hunch but why didn't he check it in the first place? Why does it take four trips for the same problem? The car never shook prior to bringing it in... but almost $700 later and four trips, and a cancelled appointment that cost me a job interview due to lack of communication (which could have been done SATURDAY) my problem isn't even FIXED? Sorry, but Craig the honest mechanic is gone. Eric the honest mechanic is gone. I'm not going to drive this far out of my way as a long time and loyal customer to be treated this poorly. I'm going to be taking my business else where from now on. You guys REALLY dropped the ball this time. [Edit] --- and of course, less than five minutes after leaving their facility our check-engine light comes on... this is just comical now. read more

A very horrible experienced I had with this Tonnys repair shop..my car was in his shop for over 30 days with the trunk open and doors , he did not even bother to disconnect the battery if he will let those doors open that long ,of course the car battery will die after those long days..the car was rear ended and I chose to take my car to him assuming that he will do a great job, but big mistakes..before the 30 days of September this year was over he said that on the first week of October which is Monday that I could get my car,I called him on Sunday to remind him cause I have to start s new job and I have no car ..and I already returned the car rental..I've used the whole 3odays on car rental and my car is not done yet...that Monday I called him w.hat time I should go to his shop to get my car , he texted me stating that not to call him or he will stop working on my car...wednesday that week the shop call me saying my car was done....as I got to the driver seat ..someone moved the seat closer to the steering wheel that it will be very hard for me to drive..the drive seat is already set for my height , Iam 6'1 and no one drive my car but me.. one of the guy that works there told me that he pushed it forward cause he is short guy....Tonny the oloopwner knows the seat issue cause he worked on my car before..they were about to close that day, but he was able to pushed it back a little bit ..yet it's not enough space for me..not to mentioned that the trunk door replacement was not properly installed, its protruding and hard to open...so I went back the following day to have I the seat to how it was when I gave them my car....I told him that I have to report to my new job..I just started and i havent been able to show up since Monday that week..and I was told by my new employer to show up on that friday..after 2 hours he came to the lobby and saying that he cannot push back the seat cause the motor was bad..and he took me inside the shop..I almost had a heart attack cause i saw that he removed the driver seat out of the car, dismantled all the mechanism and even the side door, he dismantled it as well and telling me that he cannot put it back and I have to buy a new seat...I was do furious, I told him that he should have Informed me first that he is going to dismantle the seat, now how can I go to work in the morning without a car..I started screaming and cried cause it's too much ..this guy is ruining my car..he kept on saying that he cannot put the seat back and I need to buy a new seat...I was so upset that I knew that I am going to get sick..he gave me his car that night so that u could go home and he said that he will work on it the following day but it's not free...I told him to give my car back to how it was when I gave the car to them...the following morning he called and said that my car is ready..I went there and he was able moto put the seat back together and it is on the right setting for me...I was thinking that why he said last night that he cannot put it together and I have to buy a new seat..as I was heading home I stopped at the grocery store and push the remote to lock the door , and it will not lock anymore.i called the shop right away to inform them, Sandra the woman on the front pebble told me to bring the car back whenever I could. .I went home cause I cannot leave my car unlock .as I got home I went inside my house to drink water cause I was so irritated that now I cannot lock the door and this happened after he dismantled the mechanism of the door...I turned the engine on and will not start..the battery is dead cause for over 30 days the trunk was open and it uses the battery 24/7 and should have disconnected the battery but he didnt... I called the Mercedes benz road assistance to charge the battery and I drove the car to pep boys to get a new one . October 24, I went back to his shop and tony told me that he cannot fix the lock cause there is water in it.. and he turned his back away from me.,and now even the back rest will not move. This guy will not take ownership of his mistakes ..I just want my car back to how it was..now I'm stuck with his mistakes..hope that no one will go thru with the same horrible experienced I had with this shop...lesson to learn..find a reputable company.in addition the side mirror on the driver side is no longer working too..and this is after he removed the side door covering yesterday and disconnected the wires in it..my God help me..I am so frustrated right now..I called the shop and spoke to Sandra about it but she said that she has nothing to do with it...and just go for second opinion..I send Tony a text about it but no response from him... read more

This place does EVERYTHING! From Engine, transmission to even a body shop. Im glad yelp helped me find Tony's repair shop. I called Tony's for a timing belt job on my 91 Honda and Sandra in the front office gave me a pretty good quote compared to other shops. Well later that day I decided just to go in and talk to someone in person. As I'm looking for someone to talk to a gentleman approached me and ask me what he can do for me. I explained to him what my car was doing and he knew exactly what it needed. He tells me he will charge me his labor and I could bring my own parts. It didn't even dawn on me that this was tony! He sends me to the receptionist "Sandra" and she remembered I had called earlier that day. So after Tony's labor charge and Sandra getting the best deal on parts it was still $100 less than the already low price I was quoted on the phone! Tony was honest, kind and down to earth. I'll be bringing my Honda here for any future mechanical repairs it might need! And who knows maybe even paint and body work! Lol Thanks Tony!! This review is waaay overdue as I've been bringing all my vehicles and referring all my friends here for years! Tony and his staff are amazing! Craig has got to be the best, most honest auto mechanic I've met. There has never been a job that he hasn't been able to fix (and being an owner of several BMW's, the list is endless from electrical to mechanical). Not only that, the labor he charges for all his work is incredibly low. I've even asked once how he does business with such a small margin of profit. Craig replied that superior, honest, efficient maintenance has always been the business motto. And with the constant business from returning customers and referrals, high labor costs and mark-ups aren't needed. Well it's definitely true. There is never a slow day at Tonny's, and for good reason too! Another great thing I must mention is the full auto-body and paint shops they have in addition to their maintenance bays. Last year they completely rebuilt my friend's car which was totalled in a wreck. It looked and ran like new when they were done!
