We agree with fellow Yelpsters- 4 stars! We ordered the Ace pumpkin cider (which was very sweet & delicious) & the 1/2 life Hefeweizen (which was nice & light). The fried pickle chips were very crunchy, salty, & peppery, with a slight pickle taste. Our main entree consisted of two kinds of brisket: a dip sandwich & dinner plate. The brisket had a beautiful smoke ring & was very tender. We also both ordered the Mac & cheese side, and it had bold flavors of garlic & pepper but it was not drowning in cheese sauce by any means. Tonopah Brewing is a diamond in the rough. In little Tonopah, Nevada there aren't many dining options, but this little brewery and barbecue is awesome! Tonopah Brewing has small town charm, but a robust menu and some fantastic beers that are brewed in house (check the pic for the brewing room!). I got there right in the middle of their 4p-6p happy hour where they have quite a few $5 happy hour food specials. The Buffalo Chicken Fries and Pulled Pork Sliders were pretty good, but the homemade barbecue sauces were definitely the highlight. I recommend you try each of the four sauces they offer, which go great with both the sliders and as a dipping sauce for the fries. My girlfriend ordered the $5 Chicken Salad and while the salad was simple it was easily worth the price. If you're passing through Tonopah or staying for the night, Tonopah Brewing is definitely the place to stop for a brew and a bite. read more

It was so very much worth the wait as we winded our way through the beautiful views provided by Death Valley. Paul could not have been kinder or quicker with our order and every last thing we ordered was fantastic. We started with cheese curds and onion rings and then on to the succulent brisket and burnt ends. Every side was delectable. What a great find in Tonopah Nevada! We love good BBQ but it's hard to be satisfied when you've had great BBQ in places like Texas, Missouri or Tennessee. Well we hit the jackpot here. Chef Ghost just took over at Tonopah Brewing and he came straight from Memphis 21 days ago with mad BBQ skills. He uses his own special dry rub and his sauces are delish. Get his BBQ ribs as they have that great flavor all the way through and fall off the bone . Now for the beer . I love good micro brews and this brewer is fantastic. So many tasty options it was hard to pick one. They are generous with offering tasters so you can get exactly what you love. Local waitress Sonia was excellent. Friendly, attentive and kind. Things are usually friendly and fun, so tonight I was excited to try dinner here for a change. Looks good, but not so much, maybe I hit it at a bad time. Brisket was super dry and rubbery, ribs were burnt, pulled pork had zero flavor and Turkey was dry. The burnt ends were just chunks floating in a pool of grease. The best part of the meal was the cold slaw.. the whole meal was served we bed cold. The $50 I shelled out was definitely a waste.. The place was in actuality very understaffed as there was only one woman running the bar, serving all tables, bringing out all food and drinks, and handling their booming take out order business. However, the service was prompt and amazing. She was absolutely the best. Now, how about the beer and bbq? Excellent. We were very impressed with their house beers, and the grub was as good as you could expect to find in your favorite BBQ place. The brisket was fantastic. The ribs and pulled pork were great. The beans were good but what REALLY stole the show was the SMOKED TURKEY!!! This is worth driving a couple hundred miles for. Just incredible. And apparently that is no secret as many locals were coming in and ordering nothing but the smoked turkey. I have to say it is the best turkey I have ever had anywhere in my life. Definitely swing by this place if you are in town or just blowing through. And if you are reading this from a couple hundred miles out, my suggestion is you call them and ask if they are slinging smoked turkey today, AND, will they still be holding some by (your projected arrival time). My expectations were low because, hey, it's in the literal middle of nowhere. Since the expectations were already so low, I wasn't that disappointed with this place. Had I only gone for the beer it would have been a 5 star review but this place is a restaurant too, a solid 3 it is. We started with a beer sampler, which is pretty much my go-to when in any brewery. The beers were very good and I probably should have drank a few more samplers before eating. The food was mediocre at best. I really want small businesses to succeed, especially during this stress-induced pandemic that we are in but I can't lie if something isn't right. We ordered the fried food sampler which is basically a bunch of deep fried vegetables and cheese curds. It was supposed to include okra but they were out so I asked for French fries to be added in it's place. Someone in the kitchen must've figured that, since sliced jalapeños look kind of like okra, they'd throw extra ones in. There were so many jalapeños in the basket we could only eat around half of them. The picture I posted of them was taken after we had eaten as many as we could. Our meals came with a corn muffin and choice of sides so we chose coleslaw and beans. The beans were okay but the coleslaw had a weird chemical (almost like gasoline) taste to it. I couldn't eat it. The corn muffin was hard. So hard that for fun we used them like drums and tapped our butter knives on top to hear the sound they made. Couldn't eat those either. Ordered the burnt ends as our main dish and it was literally a bunch of cubes of beef swimming in a pool of bbq sauce. It tasted okay so we ate it. I can't recommend eating here but I would definitely go here for the beer. read more

Small food menu, which they were mostly out of, and wouldn't refill my growlers, because there was no surgeon general warning! WTF??? Will, the manager, has totally screwed the place up! They are off my list of everything! Just did some research and found out that Will is no longer handling the management at this establishment. He was instrumental in making the Brewery a success. Bbq is always solid. Turkey is maybe the best ive had anywhere. The brisket and ribs ive had here have ranged from faint from one bite to, maybe the grill master had a couple too many and left everything on the smoker a tad long. I am a self-certified beer and bbq snob so here are some critiques. The mac and cheese looked fantastic but cheese was wrong. No cheesy flavor. The "bbq beans" are literally van de camps. And if they are not, they should stop wasting their time making them and just pop a can. Its so easy to make really good, original tasting beens from scratch. Either put in the time or change the menu item to say vande camps and be fine with it. I mean if i put a bunch of effort into a recipe and it came out like vandecamps id throw in the towell, pop the can and change what the menu item. The cole slaw is. . Well not cole slaw at all. It certainly looks fantastic but its more like cabbage mix with some unexpected tasting salad dressing. The standard mayo and powdered sugar blend is completely absent. Its unfortunate these sides aren't shining stars. With a bit of trial and error they certainly could be. The beer. ... a couple years ago i felt tge beer was solid and balanced and good effort hone brew flavor. Something has happened in the brewery since then. It seems like maybe they changed from an all malt brewery to an extract operation, which is a huge no-no in the world of brewing.... either that or they had an extremely talented extract brew master, and they lost him/her.... and now they're just kind of punting in the brewery. The three beer i tasted were overly sweet and not terribly descriptive, very on par with some of my early extract batches. Dont get me wrong. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I mean i really love it. To have a brewery bbq literally in the middle nowhere where we can stop during our travels is truly amazing. Id just like to see them do some work on their recipes.. both beer and sides. This was a most disappointing choice While here on our 3 day visit to tonopah, nv. We went to this Brew Pub, with the hopes it would be a fun , friendly place, with great BBQ and Beer. We were treated very rudely, by the only, waitress? In the place, ( Tami).Acted like, by us even showing up, we incovienced her, there was only one other customer there! We heard good reviews yet apparently those reviews must be from locals we of course aren't locals and got weird non happy looks from the waitress . The food was cold after waiting 40 min n then I asked for it to be warm the au ju sauce was still cold n my bun was warm yet not the meat or cheese after the second time my mans burger was cold yet he did eat it yet I left my food there on the table untouched. 53 dollars for our meals down the drain! I've been to Tonopah on and off for the last 8 years for work. This last time I was in town unplanned. After getting as much done on the project as I could, I checked in to the Best Western across the street. While there the front desk gal said they had a Brewery and BBQ across the street. Well that sounds like a good enough dinner to me. When I walked in there was the usual amount of patrons in Tonopah. Maybe 4. But the place was sizable and has a ton of potential. Already they are ahead of the game with clean surfaces and a nice new feel. So many times places will pop up in small towns and be half assed. Here they seem to have done the dining area right. Even if it is a little sparse on the decor. They did have the TV's I was looking for though. I wanted to watch the Monday Night Football game. Service was just what I expect in Tonopah. Full of character and spunk. Not the fawning service that lulls you into a food coma, but snappy banter as they take care of a small business in a small town, with a large side of snark The food was standard Tonopah fare. I was going to order off the stapled paper menu, but had no idea what would be good from the descriptions. I got the Smoked Turkey sandwich. Both ends of the bun were dry and the whole thing was standard. I wouldn't order this again. So it is a brewery..so how was the beer? Good. It was good to a person who doesn't particularly like beer. The American Pale Ale had a sweat sock sort of finish...but I did like the rest ok enough to finish the whole flight of 6. By far the best item was the beans. And thankfully they were good, because they were $4 for the side. A little steep. So all in all, I wouldn't avoid this place the next time I am in town. But I am left with a lingering question....if a brewery is in the middle of a desert town with some of the worst water I've ever tasted......how does that affect the beer?
