The fries weren't crisp at all - I'd go so far as to say they were nuked and then served to us. The salad was bland and their blue cheese dressing had no blue cheese flavor. One of us ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it was ok. The peach cobbler was also definitely nuked but not bad. WOW - I was not impressed. The two things I ordered they were out of...burnt ends and Chardonnay. I ended up getting the brisket which was tough and not flavorful and a salad. Fried okra seemed frozen. However the Beans and corn bread were great! I don't like dressing in a small container with my salad. Make it from scratch. Mac n cheese no flavor. Make it from scratch. Tonopah Brewing Co is a good place for lunch and a beer. I am not one to drink beer very often but I had to try this place because of all the people who recommended it to me. I definitely had the waitress recommended me there best beer on tap. I was not disappointed. I can see why people like to get drunk on this stuff haha. Its tasty! Now they also serve BBQ there and that was pretty good too. I got the pulled pork and it was tasty. Well worth the stop. I was super hungry when I came here and man it did not disappointed. The bbq is very tasty. There setting area looks like it has been renovated and looks good. It also has a bar with good beer. I highly recommend grabbing a glass. I usually have them recommend their best. That's just how I roll haha. The staff here is nice and accommodating. They do have outdoor seating which is nice. We visited Tonopah Brewing Co. and ordered salads, which tasted good but would have been better tossed. They were piled so high that tossing them ourselves risked spilling ingredients. The gentleman at the register was friendly but seemed distracted by the basketball game, requiring a few prompts to get his attention. I checked in on Yelp for a free beer, which was delicious, but later discovered I was charged for it on my receipt. Overall, good food but service could be more attentive. Went here tonight for my son's 8th birthday. We had gone the week before for my daughters and it was a wonderful experience. Came in to the "seat yourself" sign. Sat down at the only available table and the waitress came by multiple times saying "that table is dirty". She seemed irritated- but it's 6:30pm Sat- so we let it slide. Then as the three kids where sitting down she came over and started grabbing the condiments off the table saying over and over and over again "the table is dirty, it needs to be cleaned, this is unhygienic". We said, "it's okay we will wait. We just need to sit down. Is that okay?" She said, "well it's unhygienic" Again- it was the only place to sit and we had small children. Finally we said, "do you want us to go?" And she said- "oh yeah. You can can leave then." It was so rude and I was so shocked. We got all the kids back out, jackets on. As we were leaving I heard her LOUDLY telling everyone who could hear at the bar how "Yeah- she can just go then. I don't need this. That table wasn't CLEANED!" I went up to talk to her and told her we had a good experience a few days ago and that we were just trying to sit down, and we were sorry that we sat at the table. She never apologied, never acknowledged that we just read the sign and sat down. My son's eight birthday was getting kicked out of a restaurant because the waitress didn't want us there. And she did is loudly around all the other seated tabled. We did hear her tell the table sitting beside us that it was cleaned as we first got seated- she didn't ask that table of men to leave. She just cleaned it and came to our table and eventually made us leave. Great bar food at a reasonable price. We make it a point to stop there on our way from Vegas to Tahoe! The sampler is awesome and can feed an army with crunchy, crispy, deep fried treats. OK food, but overpriced. A decent selection of local beers that we would have enjoyed trying more of. Had a couple hours to burn here on a Thursday afternoon while on a road trip. My wife had several zoom calls to be on for her work over a ~2-hour period and this was our landing spot. I Yelped this location ahead of time, drawn in by the "free beer with an entree" coupon. It was "seat yourself" so I did. After setting my stuff down and using the restroom, I returned and sat down only to realize there was a used beer mug from the previous customers at that table and the table had not been wiped down. It actually never got wiped down, even after our server noticed the beer mug. We sat at 1:35 and placed our food and drink orders at 1:45. My wife figured she might have time to at least start her salad before her next zoom call at 2. Our drinks did not arrive until 1:55, though, and our food until 2:25. I was given grief a little grief about the yelp coupon specific to their restaurant, with the server saying "the GM asked yelp to pull these down a long time ago," but she took a picture of my coupon. The beer was not taken off of the bill at the end with a coupon, I reminded her about it and she said "I'll just take it off myself." I wanted to politely mention to her that the whole reason we even came and spent any money there was because of the coupon and it actually worked. But to be honest we got so little attention from either of the two servers that I never had the chance. They were moderately busy, but they were definitely not packed. We stopped in here on way back to Reno from a weekend in Vegas. Big mistake. There were five of us and no tables available (the booths were still dirty and the table that was clean didn't have enough chairs). We were fine waiting. The waitress told us it would be a few minutes and to have a seat. I mentioned that we couldn't have a seat just yet as the tables were dirty. That's when she snapped at me that she was alone, and that took me back. I was fine with waiting a little but the defensiveness put me on the defensive too. I stopped in the bathroom and while there she told my husband that the table was clear and he explained that there five of us so the table wouldn't work. Then she rattled off a list of the foods that weren't available. All in all it was a very intense vibe of "we don't want you here". We agreed that it seemed to be more a place for locals, somewhat hostile to travelers. Between the somewhat hostile reception and realizing that the longer wait might not be worth it, we decided to leave. What goes better than a basket of fried pickles? Well...an excellent homegrown double IPA of course!! I never had fried pickles before. But I took the plunge, and they're right up there with fried mushrooms and onion rings...approved! Crisp pickle slices and crisp coating done to perfection for this newbie, who also enjoyed the "Ore Cart," pulled pork sandwich with an amazing (with 4 different dispensers on the table ) sauce to add ("saloon kick" my favorite...watch out for "Nuclear Test Site"...omg! On the way up to Reno from Vegas we stopped into this lil jewel in this small mining town. The server was polite and sweet which is always hit or miss in joints like this. I ordered the "ore cart" accompanied with green beans and corn muffin. Do yourself a favor and order 2 muffins, they are delicious! The sandwich was exploding with soft and juicy pork on a fresh baked bun. It comes with 4 kinda of sauces. I enjoyed the "sweet heart" and "saloon kick" the most. I'm stranded in this 6000 foot high town for a hot minute. The jeep took a ***, leaving the hubby and I at the mercy of the locals and the formidable weather. We decided to stop into this brewery this morning, lulled in by the the warm scent of the smoker going full bore beside the road. Let's just say this place is going to make our extended stay much more palatable. The food is awesome. And cheap. Neither of us are drinkers but if the brew matches the barbeque then no one will be dissatisfied. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, an addition of the house bbq sauce is welcomed, but not necessary, the mac and cheese an al dente mélange of smoke, cream, and cheese; the fries crisp and perfectly seasoned, the coleslaw fresh and complimenting. A little bit of old school punk music played in the background giving the otherwise pristine joint a bit of grit. We'll probably be eating here everyday until the old Jeep gets back up and running. I stopped by the Tonopah brewing company today to get some take out. The food along with the beer (which I had while waiting for the food) is way impressive! In a location where there are limited options, and few competitors, it would be easy to sleepwalk through the menu and still do well. But it was obvious that the people here care about putting out a quality product. We ordered two plates (with 4 sides). The Turkey and the Brisket were outstanding and I loved all the different sides (Mac cheese, beans, slaw & potato salad) along with ever sauce they make. There are not too many choices in Tonopah for fast food so we were glad to find some bbq. We ordered sandwiches and they were both pretty tasty and filling. The meat did not have a strong smoke flavor but they have very good selection of sauces available. The meat was tender and properly cooked. Such an amazing surprise! While traveling through Nevada we planned to get lunch in Tonopah and my wife found a BBQ place online, so I thought why not. Having had BBQ from one end of this country to the other, with a bunch of it in the south, I've had my fare share. Tonopah Nevada is not where I expected to find some of the best BBQ I've ever had. When we pulled into the parking lot the smell of a real wood fired smoker full of meat filled the air air. I looked across the parking lot, and couldn't believe my eyes, right there in the middle of Nevada was the culprit, a big beautiful wood fired smoker being tended to by its pit master. My hunger level went up a couple of notches so I hurried inside. When we stepped in the door I looked across the room and I see beer brewing equipment too! I know the name gives it away, but my wife never told me the name, she just told me there was a BBQ place. At this point, I'm ready to look for a hotel room and make a day of it, but we really did need to get to our destination on time. We were greeted quickly by the waitress/bartender. From what I could tell she was the only one inside attending to customers. She was very friendly with a great sense of humor and attended to our every needs, mainly being thirst and hunger. We ordered two cold IPA brews which were fantastic! We decided to go with smoked wings and burnt ends. She asked if we wanted the burnt ends meal or appetizer. The meal came with two sides, so we went that way. You can get the wings with sauce or without. We went without so that we could sample the four house BBQ sauces on our table. The wings didn't need any sauce. They were amazing with crisp skin and perfectly smoked meat. The burnt ends were delicious perfectly smoked nuggets and the sides, potato salad & coleslaw, were fresh and fantastic! We tested all four sauces. The nitro isn't really nitro, but it was my favorite and I appreciated the little less than nitro heat. Having had plenty of BBQ in Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and a whole slew of other fine places across this country, this stood up with the best. While the hoards of travelers passing through Austin are gassing up and eating at the ridiculously busy Chevron/Burger King/Subway down the street, take the time to stop here, have a cold brew and BBQ that will leave a lasting memory, you wont regret it. read more

Surprisingly good considering that you don't have many options when driving through to other destinations. I really enjoyed the burnt ends and all of the bbq sauces. The corn on the cob and potato salad were both okay. And the brisket wasn't my favorite, but was still good. If I came back I would definitely redo the burnt ends, but I'd probably try a different meat and some other sides. It was all tasty and worth the price though. Waitress was awesome and friendly. If you're looking for a large meal, this is the place. Great bbq sauces and good meat. I had the burnt ends on my last visit and they were a bit too seasoned. I love burnt ends so I was really hopeful. We ate here on a previous trip and I forgot to review- but the food was better the first time. And the fries are phenomenal. The Porter was quite good. Lighter than most that I'm used, but very refreshing. Hearty sized brisket sandwich, mild flavored, not quite like what I've been spoiled with in Texas (original Rudy's). My wife and I were on a road trip to Vegas for a conference. I knew this place was open from my other trips from north to south and back north again. This time, with wife in hand, we barreled into the Tonopah Brewing Co. We had one thing on our mind and that was a beer to break up the monotony of slow moving traffic amidst road destruction. Food was not an option this time around. Heading south, my wife had the Irish Red, which the brewmaster had just kegged and I had the Stink-Eye Porter. Both were good and I enjoyed them both too! They had a beer that I had to try. Molten Silver. It is a ghost pepper cerveza that tasted great and then set your tongue ablaze! It's too bad, I enjoyed it, but couldn't take anymore than a taste. I brew my own and added a tablespoon for 5G of wort and that was spicy enough! My hat off to anyone who can enjoy an entire pint! On the way back, I had a pint of the Oktoberfest. This was a complex beer and I think may have had allspice as a seasonal seasoning. Not bad. I'm glad I stopped by there, but I wouldn't drive 4 hours just to have a beer. Service was decent to good and friendly enough. Beer prices were reasonable too! ---------------- Bottom Line Yes, I will stop by there on my way down and up from Vegas.
