First, I would like to say, Jenny is a sweetheart. The tailors/seamstresses here do a good to great job depending on the type of work. I've visited many tailors and it is extremely difficult to find one that does an adequate job AND provides good customer service. I've had all sorts of tailoring done here -- shoulders on dresses, hems on dresses and pants, things taken in, etc. Their best work, in my opinion, is a simple shoulder dress alteration. I would not recommend hemming your pants here. Again, just picked a my jeans & the right leg is longer than the left & sewn slightly crooked. I intend on taking it to another tailor to get it fixed. Too bad. Their prices are fair depending on the alteration. I've gone to more expensive places and less expensive places and the price is reflected in their work. Some places charge more and do a poor job & vice versa. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a nice tailor/seamstress who does a good job...again, I recommend should alteration & not pants hem. Hope that helps. :) read more

Got 2 slacks hemmed and tapered. Fantastic job! They were done just as short and as pulled in as I wanted. I would have given 5 stars but the price seemed high, $56. I come here to get my pants hemmed. I know I can do it myself and save 9 bucks!! But its okay, I'm lazy. And they do a good job. You can always request to have your clothes turned around faster if needed. I'm never in a hurry so I never ask. But I've heard others get their tailored suit back the next day. read more

The worst experience ever! I brought my pencil skirt just for a minor take in alteration on the sides of the bottom of skirt - $20 (very high) and it was horribly & wrongly done! I never requested any alteration to be done on the waist - they did it by mistake. I asked Tony for the name of the person who worked on my skirt and also to show me what exactly was done to it and he started screaming: Get out of my shop! Get out! Then one customer came in to check on the pricing and he suddenly changed and said nicely to me: I'll fix it back how it was. The potential customer said the pricing was too high and left and Tony started screaming at me again: Get out, I'll call the police! I was shocked... I went here a few times and so far so good until this time around when a simple hem up of a pair of pants went wrong. One leg was shorter than the other!! I know its only been the first time something went wrong, but for the price you pay, you better check their work before you leave the store!! I only go here for convenience. Prices have gone waaay up. I went there today to get one pair of jeans fixed (rip) and two pairs tapered. My bill came out to be $42. Repair is $8, tapering is $17 each!!! Just got a pair of wide-leg jeans hemmed here. I was concerned about it being hemmed so that it doesn't drag when I walk but I also didn't want my heel to show. Got them home and tried them on and my first thought: "Oh my god, these are hemmed so perfectly." They barely touch the ground when I'm barefoot and with shoes on, they're lifted just a bit so that the back of it doesn't drag on the ground. It was $15 for original hem. This is an unreliable tailor, I had 5 items to be altered given a week before the due date and they had not started anything when I went to pick it up. Tami saved my day. I had a horrible experience at an alteration place where my bridesmaid dress alteration wasn't finished the day BEFORE the wedding and I needed someone to do it for me ASAP. I called her telling her my situation and she said she could take it right away and finish it for me in 2 hours. My boyfriend picked up the dress for me and he couldn't stop talking about how nice they were and what a great job they did - which they DID. Tami measured my dress, which was three layers, and she even told me only 2 layers needed to be tailored (other places told me all 3 needed to be and would charge me more). Even though it was such a last minute order, I didn't feel that they were trying to take advantage and take more money from me. A few days later, my boyfriend took his pants to them to get altered, and because they were so big, the guy straight up told him to just buy new pants. Excellent tailor. I like to have a lot of my clothes tailored and haven't had too many issues in the past but in Irvine I tried two other places with terrible results. The first place altered my work button shirt too small so I had to junk it. Definitely wasn't happy. They gave me a refund and altered a new shirt, which came out like they did nothing at all. Never going there again. The second place altered the same shirt and it was still baggy on me. I don't understand how that can happen when it's measured on me while I'm wearing it. So I took it here to Tony's and the measurement took literally (not figuratively) 30 seconds and came out perfect. And lastly was only $20. To keep it simple, the tailoring is decent but the prices are very high. To have a simple cotton jersey dress hemmed it cost me $20 per dress and it was a 7-day turn-around. I got the same results at another tailor in Santa Ana for $8 per dress and they were ready the next morning by 10 AM. read more

I had a great experience here. I just needed to get some jeans hemmed, and I went to Susana's based on their positive Yelp reviews. There were a few people in the store already, but I only had to wait 3 or 4 minutes before it was my turn. Then, a pleasant woman welcomed me, sent me to the dressing room to change into my jeans, and was very quick with marking the hemline and getting me set up in their system. All in all, it took maybe 10-15 minutes total to get in and get out. It was a 3-day turnaround for my jeans to be ready, and the hems were perfect. I definitely recommend this place. read more

My daughter and her friend went to Susana's to get their winter formal dresses altered. One of the dresses had to be brought in an inch and the other dress had to be brought in 3 inches and have its strap shortened. Both girls were happy with their dresses and we had difficulties finding the stitching from where the dresses were brought in. I have used this tailor in the past for two very high end gowns and had great experiences with reasonable pricing. This is why I drove out of my way with my two young children in tow to get a recent bridesmaid dress altered at Tony's. I'm sad to say that I will be looking for a tailor closer to my home after this most recent experience. They had a full week to complete the alterations to both my gown and my boys' suit pants (the pick up date was arranged by Tony himself), but when I arrived, the pants were not completed. The front desk receptionist was beginning to suggest I come back later for them (yeah right), when the seamstress in the back basically yelled up to her that she'd do the pants right then. One pair of pants were done fine. The other one was incredibly sloppy. They were only meant to be let out at the waist (basically let out the stitching that was put in a couple years ago when my older son wore these pants), and nothing was to be done with the length. Instead, the women took out the nice cuffs and asked me if I wanted to shorten the pants. I said no, I only needed the waist let out. She then sewed them up without the cute cuff. At this point, I had been at the store for over 30 minutes and my toddlers were beginning to melt. I accepted the pants because I didn't have the time to stick around and have her figure out the cuffs. the problem was that she didn't listen to me and that they didn't look as cute as before....ARGH! As I get the total, I realize they charged $18 for each pant. Higher price than what a basic tailoring is for adult pants. WHAT!? I was told that $15 is a starting price. I suggested that since these pants are 3T and 12 months respectively and only involved taking the waist in for one and out for another, that $18 was insane. I was also charged much more for the gown than ever before. This gown was the least complicated of the ones I have had altered in 2013 and 2015. Anyway, she offered a $10 credit for a return visit. I rejected this offer because there's no way I'm returning to Tony's. Such a disappointment. PS. When initially we came to have the pants altered for the boys, my 2.5 year old was nervous and upset about the whole affair--needles, pins, etc. He was worried about getting a shot. I was reassuring him that he was safe and that I wasn't getting hurt, etc. Tony proceeded to tell my son not to cry and that "boys don't cry ever for any reason. Boys don't cry. Stop crying." After disappointing experiences with other tailors in the area who have ruined several of my clothes, Tony always does a great job, weather it be a full suit, jeans or even a sweater. There are other places I could have gone to, but I returned because they had previously done a superb job on the same jacket 4-5 years prior when they were called Susana's. He tailored my son's uniform and I think he did a good job. My bad review is because he tried to charge me way more than he charged a friend who got the EXACT tailoring done on the EXACT uniform in the EXACT size. I hate when stores size customers up and charge more for the same service. I told him that my friend got the same thing done at a much lower price and he agreed on the lower price. However, this left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be going back. Came here with my sister and got separate work done for our clothes. Saw that the ratings were decent only but decided to give it a try because it was already so close to home. Prices were fair. Work was exceptional. He greeted me right when I walked in and provided what I wanted. After talking for awhile he was so nice he decided to knock the price down a little. Another thing worth mentioning is that he accepts credit card!!! I've been to other alteration shops in the area and it was cash only which got my frustrated here and there, so I'm glad this place accepts more than one form of payment. After getting a few things done here and there i knew he was my goto guy. Everything I wore felt as if it was fitted particularly for me. If u have any special request he'll try his best to accommodate for your needs.
