A small little auto body shop in a slightly sketchy place but they definitely did not disappoint. I had to get my car towed here to get my starter replaced and they were super nice and answered all of my questions. I did not feel as if I was being taken advantage of much like how some mechanics try to get money out of female patrons. I didn't make an appt and only had to wait for about an hour or so to get everything fixed and read to go. I asked for my oil to be checked and he checked everything with no hesitation! I needed an oil change and my usual auto shop was not opened due to the pandemic so I called around and someone here picked up and said i could come in anytime. The oil change took about 30 minutes from the time i arrived on the lot. Everything was very easy. They take card but prefer cash. I would absolutely come back. The price of the oil change was very reasonable. They didn't try to over sell me anything or pressure me into buy anything unnecessary. I think i have found my new auto shop. My go-to mechanic nowadays. I've had them fix everything from a thermostat and my AC to changing my brakes. Fairly priced and Tony's always been able to fit me in and have it fixed same day. Super honest, too. Initially thought my AC compressor was dead and I gave the go-ahead to have it replaced, and then he realized it was just needing the fan replaced and a recharge. True story...as if all the other reviews are lies. JK. I went to the Honda dealer. Dealer quoted me $$$$$ prices to fix, and said I had a bad battery. I got an second opinion, at North Hollywood VIP car service, got quoted $$$$ and said I had a bad battery. I came to Tony, Tony said my battery was fine, and Alternator was the true problem (causing the idling, and shut off while driving). Long story short, dropped the car off at 9AM, picked it up at 12PM. Fixed the Alternator, 2 rear shocks, gasket valve cover, and air filter for $$$. It wasn't cheap, but it's truly a good price for the parts and labor. Come here if you like saving money for quality work. read more

I have tried to go to others and have compared the service, or have even tried to go to a cheaper mechanic. I got bit in the A#$ all the times, cause I've had to keep goi g back. I live in Burbank and the auto shops within my vicinity are never available same day appointments (at least not the highly rated ones). I've been coming here for at least 5 years and Tony and his team always do great work and I can always drop in anytime. Today they took about 30 min on my oil change i love that the wait is never too long. I would recommend this place. Tony is a really nice guy and he'll offer you a fair price for the labor. But I'm having second opinion for the quality of work. My car is having other issues after the repair. The rpm gauge is moving up and down on idle, and the car is struggling to keep me safe on the road. Sometimes it is hesitating and loses power. I've never had those issues before, meaning before the repair it was running great. I just had a problem with the squeaky noises, which he recommended was to repair an aging leaky bad water pump. Speed ahead 8 months later after the repair, I took the car back to the dealer for oil change and diagnostic. Keep it mind I trust them for their quality of work even though expensive, they said the water pump is leaking. What the heck? I thought I had this done? I'm leaving an updated review because my water pump repaired by Tony Auto Repair wasn't up to standards. Should it be leaking after it was fixed? The time I had the repair done with Tony, his mechanic forgot to attach one of the hoses, steam came out of the hood and my car overheated when I took it home. I came back a day later and Tony was quick to have his guy fix the problem. But I'm quite certain, the repair was not done properly. I'm not going to take it there again. read more

Tony provides great auto service with low cost prices. I brought in my car claiming that my car has issues starting. It turned out the battery cables were loose so he tightened it for free. I also had a situation with oil leaking and it turned out that my oil filter was loose due to me changing my own oil and again he tightened it and did not charge me. I needed to get my radiator done along with the upper/lower hoses and Tony gave me a great price! I saved about $50-60 if I had gone to another shop. His staffs were so friendly and nice. My recommendation is if you're going for sure, to call ahead of time so he can order what parts you may need for your car. I did wait for 2 hours for the part to arrive and about another hr for my radiator to get replaced but no complains. The only thing I regret is not finding this shop sooner since I've been in the area for a few years. read more

I love Tony! He is always friendly and gets you out and back on the road quickly! But make sure he's there before you go because the other mechanics with just stare and look at you and they'll take a long time to even acknowledge you if he's not there. I hate that but it is what it is. Every time I go to the dealership they're always trying to rip me off with some outrageous quote and on top of that they take a century to get things done, even for a simple oil change. As noted earlier, not only is he fast, he charges less the half of what the dealership will charge me and doesn't take advantage of the fact that I'm a female. I keep telling my bf he doesn't have to go with me because Tony is fair and honest. As long as I stay in California, I'll always be one of his customers. read more

I had a loud noise that happens occasionally when driving and braking, it's a cargo van with 50,000 miles, very annoying, my mechanic ( not Tony ) had checked them a few times and couldn't figure out what's wrong with it, he changed the cv boot on it and it costs me almost $ 300, still making noise, took it to Tony and he checked it for me and told me it's the brakes, I told him that the brake pads were changed about 6 months ago, he told me politely to get a second opinion, found another shop in Rosemead and that mechanic also confirmed it's the brakes, the caliper had expanded a bit and when I brake, the pads moved and caused a loud thunk noise. I ended up not getting it fixed because it doesn't affect anything, I decided to wait until I need another pads and get everything done all at once. Another scenario was my other vehicle made clicking noise, took it to Tony again and he diagnosed it as the catalytic converter, I told him to go ahead and replace it and sure enough the noise is gone and the car runs like new, I officially will be bringing all of my vehicles here if I have issues, I have referred a couple of friends as well and they all have been happy with Tony. It's not easy to get an honest mechanic out here let alone one that knows their stuffs like Tony does. One thing is to call ahead of time as his shop is almost always busy, I call to avoid long wait time. read more

I visited Tony's Auto Repair today because the VSC light began to flash as and for my lit check engine light for my 2010 Toyota Corolla. Tony promptly took care of me and began his diagnostics on my engine. My catalytic converter was bad. Although Tony did not have the part he quickly got on the phone and got me a brand new part. This is my first time going to get my car maintenanced by someone outside the car dealership. I had looked up prices for what I needed done (tire rotation, oil change, and brake pads changed) at my car dealership. After seeing prices for only half the work I needed to be close to $300, I decided to take the gamble of taking my car to an outside mechanic and found this place on Yelp, and I'm very glad I did! I went to AutoZone beforehand to get my own oil and brake pads (they gave me the wrong ones...) before I showed up to Tony's. Despite the many cars in the lot, my car was serviced almost immediately. The mechanic servicing my car could have easily have lied to me and told me I needed more work done because I didn't bring certain parts (rear brake discs), but he instead insisted that he make sure I needed new ones and determined the ones I currently had were fine (I wouldn't have known the difference). He also did not charge me for the tire rotation and I left paying half the price I would have paid at the dealership for only changing my front brakes if I had taken it to the dealership!! I'm glad I took the chance despite all the bad rep car mechanics normally get. I will definitely bring my car back here whenever I need it serviced! read more

I recently had Tony replace the Timing Belt on my 2010 Toyota Highlander. His price was a little cheaper than some other independent shops in the area and he seemed to know what he was talking about so I went with him. He did the work quickly, another plus, and everything seems to be good a few months later. My complaint is that he only gave me a written estimate because I asked him to, and when I came to get the car, he raised the price $30 right when I was going to pay. He gave no reason as to why. I admit I was a fool for going along with it, but he caught me off guard and I wasn't in the mood to fight. While good work is the most important thing, not being able to trust a place is a close second. read more

Everytime I come here to get a quote on some mechanic work to be done on my car, I always get this pretentious attitude from Tony's son - who seems to be running the body shop. He acts like you need his business and not the other way around. I eventually got my brakes done here. It was alright, the dealership would've charged twice as much. However, my most recent visit, I asked how much it would cost to get a part replaced on my car. I pull up, these mechanics look at me but noone really comes up to me and ask what I need. I come up to Tony's son and he's like What do you want. I tell him what I need to have done, he calls for the parts price and ask for a deposit for the parts if he were to order them. I ask for the cost of the labor and he says $60. Something in me tells me to check other places before I settle on his service. Although $60 is still cheaper than the dealership, I declined his offer. i went to another body shop in Rosemead to get a second opinion. Guess what? The 2nd body shop owner said I didn't need the part replaced. Just for giggles, I asked how much would it cost for labor if I had the parts replaced. He said $20! FYI tony, I checked the retail price for the part and it's only $78 a pop. You would've charged me $87 a piece. Nice comission you would've made. read more
