Everytime I come here to get a quote on some mechanic work to be done on my car, I always get this pretentious attitude from Tony's son - who seems to be running the body shop. He acts like you need his business and not the other way around. I eventually got my brakes done here. It was alright, the dealership would've charged twice as much. However, my most recent visit, I asked how much it would cost to get a part replaced on my car. I pull up, these mechanics look at me but noone really comes up to me and ask what I need. I come up to Tony's son and he's like What do you want. I tell him what I need to have done, he calls for the parts price and ask for a deposit for the parts if he were to order them. I ask for the cost of the labor and he says $60. Something in me tells me to check other places before I settle on his service. Although $60 is still cheaper than the dealership, I declined his offer. i went to another body shop in Rosemead to get a second opinion. Guess what? The 2nd body shop owner said I didn't need the part replaced. Just for giggles, I asked how much would it cost for labor if I had the parts replaced. He said $20! FYI tony, I checked the retail price for the part and it's only $78 a pop. You would've charged me $87 a piece. Nice comission you would've made. read more

I went to many mechanics to get my miata fixed so I could pass smog. Went to Haines "Mazda" "Specialist" to get my ignition timing fixed. Told me it will take 2 to 3 days and I am looking to pay $80 to $200. Also he said I needed to replace my catalytic converter and the price for that was $600. Tony did it for $290 and adjusted my camshaft to fix my ignition timing. read more

I've been going to Tony's shop for a couple years now here and there when I need some serious repairs. I gotta say, I found a diamond in the rough. Tony's staff are some of the most honest mechanics you will meet. Just left today because I had a problem with my steering making some awful grinding noise and I thought it could've been something pretty bad. They checked it out and found it was nothing more than a simple problem and fixed it free of charge because of how little it was. Any other mechanic would have still charged me for something simple, but Tony's guys are in this business for the loyalty and honesty in good work. If you need a hard working, honest set of people, who will treat your car as their own you need to stop on by here before going anywhere else first. Trust me, it'll save you time, money, and stress. I came back to Tony's shop for an oil change and for a check engine light issue some three weeks back. $18 for an oil change. That's pretty damn cheap. With $18, I could get a case of 10W30 Chevron oil/Pennzoil at Pepboys when they have their sales without the hassle of doing my own oil changes or having to waste space in my already cramped apartment. I believe he used 10W30 Chevron oil for my 97' Accord and a Purolator oil filter. Afterward, Tony plugged in his device in my ashtray outlet plug and diagnosed that my gas cap was defective. He got my Honda OEM gas cap ($35) within the hour of me arriving there. He also treated me to some breakfast too! His dad apparently bought a case of donuts and croissants and well..I helped myself to those donuts and croissants. I love sweet snacks so I couldn't pass that up and they didn't seemed to mind either because apparently, they don't have much of a sweet tooth like me. Tony told me that they couldn't finish it and then he was like, "Well if you don't take more, this box of donuts will just end up feeding the trash can later!" Anyway, I was in there at 8:30 and got out of there at 9:30--just enough time to make it to work on time in Walnut. read more

My high & low beams went out on me last night. I found Tony's Auto Repair on yelp checked his reviews. So I figured since I saw good reviews & live down the street why not go there. I was greeted by Tony as I drove in. Explained how my lights went out, immediately he started on my Truck. His price was so reasonable & his turnaround as well. He said it would be ready in 30mins, but im sure it was done way before. I had time to walk down to starbucks & get a drink. When I got back my truck was all ready to go. I brought my car here to get my exhaust installed. It literally took them 3 hours to install. The only reason I took my car to a shop was because I needed it welded. Or else I could have done it myself. 3 hours to install and weld an exhaust is just too long. Should have only taken 20 minutes. read more

Saw this place on yelp. It was my first time buying a used car little did I know I got ripped off by the private seller. I use to go to my trusted mechanic around my area but I decided to try somewhere new. I saw Tony's mechanic on yelp and was interested to try it out. My first visit was to get a oil change. He went into detail about what kind of oil for example synthetic or regular. I have never heard of different types of oil at my old trusted mechanic. This was the first step to make me feel like I could trust this place. Then to meet even more bad luck on my new used car, to find out it was almost impossible to pass the smog test because the transmission is giving out. Tony gave it his 110% and tried to help me out. He aided my car into passing smog with a lot of his knowledge about cars. I forgot to write this review a couple months back so Im writing it now. I never thought about coming here until I was getting ripped off over at Lima's on the other side of the high school. Tony is right around the corner from me and he recognized my car and was happy that I came in. He charged me 75% less than Lima's to get my motor mounts fixed and it was fast and most of all convenient. They are straight up in there and wont over charge unlike most places. Exceptional. Just exceptional. I took my car to a shop and they told me I needed to replace my rotors, brake pads, and possibly something on the inside. I'm not a car person, but good thing I was with my friend who told me to check out this other place instead. So naturally, I left and went to Rosemead auto repair instead. I am very pleased with this decision. Over here, a very friendly man named Mr. Truong helped me (What a coincidence ~ maybe truongs just get along with each other ^_^). One of the best mechanics I've met. He literally went through my car repairs in 20 minutes, and on top of that I was pestering him with my questions the whole time. In 20 minutes he fixed the problem an exchanged my brake pads, and it turned out everything else was fine! Phew! He saved me extra repairs and costs, and he was extremely knowledgable. For fixing my brake pads in 5 minutes, I was able to walk away with extra time on my clock and money in my pockets. Mr. Truong and this shop are honest people who WON'T try to charge you for other things to make a profit off our lack of knowledge. I will definitely be back, because why go to a shop where they dick around and overcharge for labor and parts when you could get things done fast and efficiently and cheaply. 5 Stars and a good review for honesty! read more

They are amazing! Love their service. Price was very reasonable. First of all, I hate taking care of my car. Never understand or remember what and when things needs to be done. So I go to Tony once a year for maintenance and any other times something's wrong. I've been going about 2 years now and Tony has been very upfront about the services/repair that needs to be done. I never feel pressured or ripped off here. This past weekend, I went over because the bottom bumper of my car came off and it was being held up by duck tapes. It was very dangerous not to mention hideous. I went over and this mechanic immediately took a look at it and offered to just remove it so at least it wont be dangerous for me to drive around. After 10 minutes, he told me it wasn't that badly damaged and he had already fixed it for me. Awesome! Then when I asked about the charges for the repair, he said not to worry about it. What?! They are super good people. And that's when I decided to write them a well deserved review. I will definitely recommend them to everybody I know. I walked to one employee and said hello, looks at me and ignores me and walks away. Than the person that did help me told me they can't fix my car without even looking at it. I went here to get my oil changed. The price quote was over the phone for $18. Also verified that the oil was not from a recycled oil pump but they use fresh oil from the bottle which is great! The quote here is cheapest by far. The las tunas charged $30 for recycled oil and $60 from fresh bottled oil!!!! So this place is by far a great service and deal. The staff is friendly, and the wait wasn't that long. The interior seats to wait are clean, and the decor is nice. Also I would recommend this place to anyone. It's close to home as well! i'm reminded of how valuable shops that operate on weekends are and thankful to yelpers for their reviews on tony's auto. it is first-come first-served on saturdays, so it might help to call ahead to see if they are booked or, if you know what the problem is, can bring it in and hopefully have them complete it while you wait. some shops need to diagnose, order the part, etc. i got a quote request beforehand for brake pads and rotors, but when i further described my brake squeaking problem to tony, he explained that it was due to a sensor and promptly replaced the brake pads. even showed me the old, worn ones. in and out in about 30min and no more squeaking brakes! read more

If I can give them an 00000 star I will. OMG!!! The technician was very rude. I called them for an inspection for Lyft and they asked me how much it usually cost. I told them around $20 (on the Lyft email they mentioned it's should be $20-$30) and he said come over. When I got there the other guy said it $45. I told them that another auto repair's site can do it for $35 can I get an discount. They told me "then go there".... After the interaction with them(their body language and tone of their voices) I felt disrespect.. I mean, it's that how you guys treat your customers? I usually come here to do my oil change and had referred my friends. After today no more. I will go someplace where they treats their customers with a little of respect. read more
